Really incredible coffee drinks and beans. Ive been here twice and been impressed by the cold brewed coffee as well as their milky/sweet coffee drinks. The barrel aged beans were also distinctive, if a little pricey. Great ambiance and color scheme as well.

I came here by accident, let me explain. Part of spending more time with the family meant going to places where other people take me, Osmium Coffee Bar, was a gift and a pleasure. First things first - I dont care how good your coffee is, if you have bad service - its a no-go. Quite the opposite at Osmium. AMAZING SERVICE, AMAZING & UNIQUE COFFEE. Caps intended. This place has great vibe and great service and ever better coffee. Treat yourself and stop by if your in the area. 👍👍

In my opinion they make the best cappuccino in Chicago, I dont even have to put sugar in mine. Also, everyone who works there is incredibly pleasant. It is a joy to come to this coffee shop.

Great coffee selection with the finest materials (never felt such a nice coffee sleeve, and organic cane sugar packets). Been buying coffee everyday from variety of independent coffee shops this summer, building up a palate, and the standard dark roast drip coffee here is simple yet features a lot of sophisticated tasting notes (nutty, earthy, vanilla, even a note of miso/slight umami).

The folks here are consistently great and so is the coffee. I dont know whats better though the folks, the coffee, or the Gingersnap Trainwrecks, but all three make my day a bit brighter.

At least once a week I make the journey over to Dark Matter to get a bag of coffee. The baristas are wonderful and fun to chat with.

Great atmosphere and drinks and food. Psychedelic art on the walls and tables outside gives it a completely different vibe than your typical coffee shop: something like 90s cartoon meets 80s movie secret hangout.

Love the coffee here! Wear a MASK. Saw a review on here saying that they tried picking up an order with their sweatshirt above their mouth as a “mask”. I’m glad the business called them out on it. Makes me feel SAFE & want to come back knowing they enforce PROPER mask wear. Halfway through a pandemic you should just know better. Anyways, the staff is great!

This is a friendly one-block-away coffee shop. The atmosphere is friendlier and more student-focused at school. I can call it the local Starbucks because it offers more elegant breakfast, lunch, and dinner dining options. Its packed, but the interior is well-designed, with a narrow band of patio chairs. Im definitely coming back!

It was truly an amazing shop, amazing food and coffee, and an incredible cause. Even if you were not in the neighborhood, its worth going out of your way to visit here. The waiter and their waitresses would serve you according to what you wanted. Besides, the place was worth taking a picture and stay in a matter of hours. Dont miss this shop!

Love Dark Matter, such delicious coffee and lattes! And their customer service is great too! I bought a bag of coffee and asked them to grind it to brew in a French press, oh and I got a free cup of coffee!

Staff was friendly and the building was nice (including the outdoor seating area). But the iced coffee I got and the cold brew my girlfriend got were both pretty acidic.

The coffee is delicious. I got the cold brew flight, and loved being able to try all the variations of cold brew they serve...great idea. Anytime I need a coffee present for someone I always come here for their great selection and helpfulness.

Amazing coffee and customer service! The Barrell aged mocha was so good I felt like I could chug it. I also got a Do-rite donut which never disappoints. Overall, theres so much on the menu worth trying as well a great selection of dark matter coffee beans available for purchase that Ill definitely be back for.

I went around 10am on a weekday to work remotely since my dog was getting groomed nearby. Anything I tried to order was no longer available. Not much of a selection of breakfast items, if thats what youre hoping to have along with your coffee. I felt the cashier kind of had an attitude as well, as though she was annoyed I wasnt sure what to order.

My favorite place to hang out and do my paperwork is this store. I like this places coziness and ambience. It was so comfortable, calm, and not too crowded. The location that I love the most! Greatly recommended!

Great coffee for actually reasonable price. Its $3 for bottomless drip coffee! There are interesting latte flavors (like one with maple syrup, sage and black pepper) and a couple of sandwich and pastry options. Very cool vibe.

I had an amazing experience here! I came in after a run wanting some coffee & the barista helped me decide which drink to get. I went with the wake & bake and it was amazing, definitely a great drink if you prefer flavored coffee that isn’t super sweet. I can’t wait to come back& try more!

They make a great latte. I thought it was a bit overpriced when I paid but quickly changed my mind when I tried it! The staff was friendly and quick, and I would definitely come back here for the vibe to hang out when I have more time.

Spacious, artsy coffee shop that sells both coffee and tea (oolong, green, Earl grey, white tea). Tried their oolong tea, its perfecto if you like dark, toasty teas. Theres also an nice outdoor area. Very quick, efficient, and affordable. Would come back for a great study space!

Great iced coffee and fast drip, ok lattes. Pre-COVID, I loved coming here to sit at the bar or in the patio in the back. Wait time is really long on the weekend, so order online and expect a 15-30 min wait for your drink

What a beautiful and smooth almond milk latte in a funky and offbeat cafe. My husband enjoyed his vegan Snickerdoodle cookie. I tried a bite too (it was good). Definitely a place to check out if youre in the area!

The location is very convenient, with fast and efficient wi-fi connectivity and a lot of charging outlets. Because of their immaculate service and reasonable prices, I gave this coffee shop a five-star ranking. They all taste fine and really fulfill my needs with their coffees. Pretty delicious coffee and specialty latte selection in an awesome bar-like setting with great music, an awesome vibe and laid back, fun staff. Great spot to get in some wi-fi but the connection is a bit screwy at times.

The coffee was pretty good [for me], the service was not. We had to flag down the barista, even then one of our hot beverages got to us lukewarm. Lucky for me its not my local cafe, so I neednt worry about returning. The murals are great though, you should check out Jason Brammers work online.

Incredibly good coffee, quick and kind staff, creative and quirky atmosphere, what more could you ask for in a coffee shop?This a great spot to stop in and get a cup of coffee and study/work (they even have a printer!). The staff are always charming, and the dark matter coffee is always tasty. Interior has neat artwork and the patio in back is great on a sunny day.Make sure you ask to start a punch card because youll probably be coming back often. Cant recommend Osmium enough

Went to grab a cup of coffee and after walking in at 10am were told they couldn’t serve us because they were closing, for no reason. But somehow people could still order online and pickup. I used to like this place, but after that, probably won’t return here.

Dark Matter roasts some of the best coffee in all of Chicago! The single origin beans are typically from Guatemala or El Salvador. This place showcases several different processing methods such as wet washing, dry washing, barrel aging, fermentation with beer and wine yeasts, and other tasty experimental methods. Also home to quite possibly the only place I’ve ever had good espresso poured.This particular cafe from Dark Matter is one of the coolest they have. Good music all day, friendly atmosphere, friendly staff.

Great coffee and good food too. The coffee beans themselves are amazing often with floral and nutty notes. They are more expensive than your average bag of coffee, but well worth the price. The best feature of this place is the iced coffee on tap and the ability to fill up growlers of the iced coffee at a very affordable cost. The chocolate city is the best iced or cold brew coffee I have ever had. It is triple brewed so it packs a caffeine punch, drink in small portions.

This place is really trendy. I found the coffee overall as good. People working where rather efficient and helpful. We also had a bagel which was delicious. A great place to pop in or do some work.

Would not come back to this location. Coffee is good, but aggressive way to ask for tip is unacceptable.“Would you like to leave a tip on a credit card or in cash?”No thank you. After that question I don’t wanna leave anything.

Coffee was PERFECT. The Unicorn Blood Espresso was amazingly smooth and and not bitter or burnt. The Agave mixed drink and Latte had very different flavors, but both were very complimentary with the brew. Neither was overly sweet, both were delicious. The environment/art work/lighting was dark and disturbing, and the customer service was poor (no assistance ordering/offering a menu/describing sizes or costs - didnt tell me when my order was ready - bought a bag of beans, but had to return them for a more recent roast etc)

Staff is freaking rude. I walked in with my entire face covered by my sweatshirt, to pick up a pre-order off the counter - from all the way in the back of the bar a girl yelled and said “next time you have to wear a mask”. What the hell do you think an entire sweatshirt over my face is doing? I won’t be back just off of principal.

For some reason, Ive always loved coffee or tea served in a glass cup. From walking in, its a favorite spot for people to come in and get work done. We had to wait for someone to leave to catch a spot. I loved my drink and the employees are very friendly.

Decent place but I wish there was more individual seating. One dude takes up a 4 person table with a single laptop. Clearly the staff saw this so they rung me up to go, no question. :/Guess it is what it is.

This was a great coffee shop to check out. The coffee was excellent. I almost exclusively get Intelligentsia when I am in Chicago, and my brother made me go to a different place. So happy I did. Cant wait to go back, although I still love Intelligentsia!

Very busy today, a Sunday afternoon. The coffee is frequently very good. They have a lot of options: pour over, press, drop, and the typical espresso drinks. They sell bags of whole beans, and can grind them for you. The service was friendly. Pretty standard pricing. They have outdoor seating behind the main indoor seating area. Standard baked goods selection.

Pros: Staff is great, they make a really mean latte, its nice to find a local place on Belmont with all the chains that have popped up there in the past decade of so. Also, theres an incredibly endearing regular named Allen that will most likely brighten your day.Cons: Its not a great place to study, not the quiet coffee shop atmosphere that I need to focus. Not a big deal, just an FYI.Also, just a note.... the draft cold brew is mocha flavored, so that could go either way, depends on your tastes.

Cool little place. Both the atmosphere and staff were great. It was like 2 blocks from the city suites hotel where I was staying. I cant necessarily speak on the coffee, but their dirty chai was superb.

The chocolate coffee (that doesnt have chocolate in it) thats on draft is tasty! The staff is really pleasant. The interior is a little tight, but theres a large outdoor space in the back.

Osmium is a really good coffee shop! They serve Dark Matter coffee (which was absolutely delicious), and the atmosphere was very nice. Their music was alternative (they played Alt-J the whole time), and the staff was friendly. Would definitely recommend.

I love Osmium! The coffee is great, and the seating options are ample -- if you cant find seats inside, head out back, because they have a nice patio seating area with picnic benches. The music is pretty bomb, too.

I love the Chicago coffee house vibe here. Good milk options! Like that you can sit at the coffee bar too. Cute place!
