Went here to buy a pair of nice pants for my son for his new job. The pants were on sale ❤️. I get to the register to pay for my items and the sales lady was dry and not present mentally it seemed. Now as she’s ringing me out I’m watching my total. So, she completes my sale I pay. As I look over my receipt I notice the pants were wrong up incorrectly. I bring it to her attention even showing her the rack I got the pants from stating that they’re on sale. So, she proceeds to tell me it’s nothing she can do but give me a full refund on the pants and that I am unable to purchase them. So a manager then comes forward sizing me up… They both proceed to speak in Spanish and I ask are they going to give me the pants on sale? The manager then states no. And that my money will be back on my card in 7-10 working days. I’m so disappointed and frustrated with these ladies. The professionalism was right out the door. My son starts his new job Monday. Unfortunately for Zara I will not be coming back into your downtown location. Your cashiers and management team are horrible. So, I just refunded my whole purchase of $468.67 over a pair of pants for $49.99 shame on you all!
Rarely has my size (M/L), so I just shop online. The issue with this store is that there is always an extremely long check-out line. This is relevant to me because I only come in to make returns for my online purchases.Because of the combination of poor services for this store, I will probably only shop and return online.
MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO REVIEW THIS STORE!Very unpleasant experience as there seemed to be a shortage of cashiers but plenty of employees walking around (or even standing by the cashier not offering help) my friend and I only had one item to purchase, we spent more time in line than looking for our purchase in store.I don’t plan on returning to this store. Very disappointed but there were some good selections to choose from.
Worst Zara ever! They should really work on having more registers open to get customers in and out, not waiting in a 30 minute line. This is ridiculous! Never seen a store so slow! It’s not like gold is being given out for free here. There should be no reason the line should be this ridiculously long.Maybe Zara should also consider opening the fitting rooms to limit the number of returns, which could also help with this ridiculous line.
There was a line for 30 or so people on the 1st floor for fitting room. With no line on second floor on mens. Staff couldnt coordinate guests around. Fitting room line downstairs was approx 30 mins with a 0 minute wait upstairs. Some zones of the store had no staff attending to them. Only 1 person on a register with a line of 20 people. Cashier had mask under her nose. Even though Chicago has an indoor mask mandate for businesses. Im hoping the store manager wasnt on duty because the oversights were shocking.
My daughter was able find a couple of really nice items. A faux suede vest, so sharp and a cozy sweater. The dressing rooms are open now so that is a definite plus.
Great selection and reasonable prices. Need more cashiers though, long wait to check out.
Agree with the other reviews! Lines are unacceptably long! Im sorry if you 4 registers open and this huge line, you had better open the other registers! Love their clothes so. Shop when its not busy!
Normally I have very good experiences in Zara, but this time my wife has a bad one with a person that has a very bad customer service.
One of the best ZARA’s I have seen in USA.
The lines are insane. Like ridiculously insane but they aren’t as bad as the ones on Michigan Ave.
Very disappointed by the lack of support at checkout today, May 29th 2021 during a HOLIDAY WEEKEND. First and second floor registers had massive lines. I went to the 2nd floor check out because the 1st floor line was almost out the door. I spoke with a manager who informed me there was a person on lunch a suggested I try the check out on the first floor, claiming she had 4 registers open. (thats where I was originally) Another customer in line next to me had her husband go to the 1st floor to check if the line was any better, he did and called her on her cell and it was the same from when I left, long line almost out of the front door of the store. There were MORE employees stocking and organizing than ringing customers up. You would think it would be the opposite. After a while many customers walked out without ever being helped. The manager wasnt very resourceful either. I stood in line 30mins to purchase ONE SHIRT! So much time wasted, do better ZARA if you want my damn money!!
My daughter found a cute shirt for school.
Customer service terrible. Only giving two stars because of clothes. My daughter and I were searching for a blazer and slacks and we were asking a question, attendant turned away and helped another customer. I would hate to think because we are African-American. Any case we will not shop at Zara Block 37 location.
Huge line in the store and just 3 registers on the first floor are open. None of the registers in men or kids section are open.Looks like they have to get a better store manager, who knows how to coordinate cashiers in order to avoid a line.
This is the worst store. The lines are out rages. They’ve got two people using the register and none of the registers upstairs work right now there’s 20 people waiting in line. This is ridiculous. I asked one of the sales people they said oh corporate will let us hire more people. Really that how much Sara cares about their customers
Amazing customer service. An employee working the floor and a manager helped my girlfriend get clothes off of a mannequin while they were VERY busy.
Very nice place..with nice clothes but the prices are little high 😆
Disappointed with the long line to pay .. but much better than michigan avenue where you have to wait way too long to go inside.
Always a favorite place to shop
Agonizingly slow customer service. If I didn’t have to return something for someone else, I would never set foot in this place.
Completely disorganizedCould not find anything in that messy place.
I shop here quite a bit and the last 3 occurrences have not been pleasant. I gave them excuses. Oh maybe they are having a bad day or maybe they are tired, but today was the last straw when my things were thrown to the side and I was spoken to with such disrespect. I intend on speaking to manager about this Monday as I wanted to give my daughter a good example and not stoop to the cashiers level. I doubt I’ll spend my money here again. I deserve an apology.
I couldnt buy anything, check out lines are too long.
I will come back on this location. Friendly staff.
Im very disappointed with my recent return experience. I made an in-store purchase in March right before quarantine started, and didnt get to return them till recently because of quarantine. I have the original receipt and the tags on the brand new clothes. Then the staff rudely told me I cannot return them because the return was only valid 30 days after the store reopened. COVID is still crazy out there and not everyone is comfortable just walk right into the store when it reopened. When I asked for a refund of the store credit, I was told I cannot because the product is not in season. This is ridiculous because first, at the back of the receipt, it mentioned nothing about the product had to be in season. It says Merchandise returned after 30days with original receipt is refund in the form of a merchandise credit valid at Zara retail store in the US. Second, NO PRODUCTS can be in season after a 3-months quarantine! This policy may make sense during normal times, but definitely not in this special time.I have been a loyal customer of Zara for many years - half of my closet is Zara clothes. Im extremely disappointed that Zara, a big international company, lacks flexibility and empathy when its treating its customers. Especially when compared to my experience of a successful return at a much smaller US brand on the same day. The purchase was made also at the beginning of quarantine, and they took my return back without any hesitation.
Cute store but a bit of a mess. Lots of employees but the lines to check out were outrageous!
The mens selection here is much better than the Michigan Ave. Location. Extremely pleased
Clothing Quality - PoorStaff - Non-existentSelection - limited (no sizes, at least for guys)Store layout - Poor (have to walk thru entire store and go to first floor b/c upstairs registers are always closed.)Bought 2 pairs of same shorts, same size, different color... and both of them for differently, one was way too small one was normal.
Crazy. Only one cashier per floor in a really busy day
Its always great shopping at Zara best clothes at fair price
Very good experience! Found some nice pieces.
Great selection...customer service could be better!
Very less collection for men.
Incredibly rude customer service.
Newer items are sold here, compared to the Michigan Ave location. However, the Zara associates are much nicer and helpful at Michigan Ave location. Also, this location is smaller and has less items.
My favorite stores to shop at and visit!
The store needs more workers as well as security guard. I saw and confronted a shop lifter. It was appalling. When I finally found a worker, they shared frustration. Security needs to be on the premise so all feel safe.
Fitting room lady is really nice and patient.Cashier Gentlemen was also polite.Overall cleanliness is good as well as the selection.Thank you!
Very friendly I found exactly what I was looking for very easy to browse with out been fallow by commission employees. Employees there we very nice and professional. I will definitely come back soon.
Simply AMAZING!!! I love this place. Great buys and great customer service!
2 people working the register when the line is out the door?!
The store is well located and has two full floors of clothing, shoes accessories and more. As for the type of clothing, I like their fit and how well they look. I like their overall design of most of their items. On this store is also well equipped with fitting rooms on both floors. As for service it lacks a bit but I understand since they are busy most of the time. The checkout line was fast during this last visit.
This is literally the worst Zara I’ve generally ever visit. Why would you have a massive sale? Three floors or two floors? Several fitting rooms? But only one in use? Is the mid day which is lunch in downtown Chicago. It’s after the holidays so people will definitely be shopping. And you have one fitting room in operation yeah you haveCore fitting rooms in the store. And this happens every time I visit the Zara one fitting room in operation
Not to much selections...but love the store...
Got the halter bodysuit in color khaki fromZara over a week ago. Wore it once on a very hot day, after I took it off notice that item bleached on my body and turned yellow on the inside and someplace outside.Tried to return or exchange it but store manager said that it’s hygiene product and it’s completely damaged so she would be able to sell it again . Well it’s understandable as well as I can wear this item no longer either due to poor material quality. Even more she said that she doesn’t know what I DID to the item, telling me that this is first case happened to this product . If you don’t want to wear things for one time only - be careful what you are buying. Cause their policy seems to have 0 responsibility for their products quality.
I love Zara. The staff here (near the childrens area) was not very helpful and didnt bother extending the basic levels of professional customer service [big smile] How are you doing here, may I help you find anything? They also have no bags/baskets for clothes so the whole shopping experience was hot and unnecessarily confusing as I logged around my winter coat, scarf and items for purchase.
A good place to shop for nice trendy fashion.
Fitting room is still closed!!! It’s crazy
My husband happens to love this place but I felt we were profiled dont know why because we are over 50 and dressed just like everyone else but the Black sales lady had her people follow us. And I know this because she was not quiet about the fact. Very disappointed due to the fact my husband loves loves this store and we travelled pretty far to go here
This location needs to work on its customer service. One cashier on both floors. No one to assist while shopping. Once I finally checked out I than has to wait on a manager to turn the tag reader on so I wouldnt beep once walking out. Do better.
The staff have attitudes. The clothes arent displayed nicely. The price arent the friendest but there are some nicely priced staple pieces. The sales are the best time to go here!
One register open for the entire store! and workers who dont acknowledge customers in the childrens clothing department. Ill pass and check out another location
. Hope their fitting room opens soon
Zara at St State possesses a great selection, a little bit crowded during discount seasons. Customer service is good and professional in a not so over-the-top manner considering the chain uses European cult instead of the States highly interactive customer service. Overall good experience, after all the top priority is to shop instead of to talk with the clerks.
Great clothing and accessories with a fresh, hip yet mature vibe. Well lit; easy to maneuver floorplan.
Went window shopping waiting for movie to start. Love the clothing and most prices were reasonable. I thought the security was a bit extreme but I dint know who shops there....
Careful with the sizing, if you are shopping here for the first time. Also, prices are higher than in Europe and although quality is on par, selection cant compete with Europe either. At least its less messy here than at Macys
I was gonna ask this worker a question and i said “excuse me” and she said “what” soo aggressively. she also had an annoyed face towards me. so disrespectful. she was also giving so much attitude.
My cashier helped a customer who cut in line when is my turn. The cashier did not acknowledge my present at all. No communication didn’t even looked at me. Rude!!! So I have to walk to another cashier to check out my stuffs. Well THIS CASHIER ACCUSED ME BEING RUDE in front of the whole store in a almost yelling voice. I explained I was being ignored but he didnt even listen. There was no communication involved other than them yelling and not listening. When I walked away, they laughed really loud to make me feel uncomfortable. Idk what can they gain from this by bullying a customer. Speak up when you being treated unfairly guys!!
Zara has awesome clothing collections and ppl who work there know that, that’s why they always treat customers as if they getting for free! Every time I go there I get awful customer service, all consultants are always mad, never try to help customers! I even Get my sizes myself, avoiding conflicts with workers. Ladies at checkout always talk loud to each other and even dont hear what customers are asking them! Worse place ever! I suggest Zara management to pay attention to customer service and hire people with nice manners!
Floor lady was beyond rude to me and all I did was ask her a simple question. If you don’t like talking to people, don’t get a damn job where you have to deal with them! I was happy to take my money to the new store in the mall and get a dress there.
UPDATE:Reducing from 2 stars to 1 star. Even worse than my initial review over a year ago, which was pre-COVID. Their long lines and rude, minimally trained staff are not pandemic related.Be prepared to wait in a line for at least 20-30 mins to check out. They have at most 2 staff working registers at any time while there’s spaces for at least 10 people to check customers out - I have never ever seen the children’s registers open. You will stand in line and watch multiple staff members walk around looking bored, holding two items of clothing to put back while you wait and wait. They’ll also completely ignore you. Really badly managed store.+++Staff are always, always, always either rude or apathetic- nothing else. Registers are never open and neither are all fitting rooms no matter how busy or quiet. Never a nice experience.
WORST STORE EVER.
The manager is bad, no profesional!!!
I really love Zaras merchandise, but you have to be careful how you care for their garments. The manager that helped me with the exchange was nice, and let me do the exchange. Im all for retailers not letting customers take advantage, however the im doing you a favor by exchanging or return your poorly made merchandise would be a reason for me to stop spending my cash there.
Needed a new summer suit for the wedding season, and didnt want to drop a ton of money. Being of a slender build, Zara clothes are right up my alley. A little euro, but everything is super slim, so I didnt even need to have the suit tailored or anything. Great suit, above average quality, and for $300 bucks. ALl around good deal.
This Zara is far better than the location on Michigan. The staff is much nicer and very helpful. The store is nicer and less crowded. I was looking for a coat I had tried on at the other location and couldnt find it. A young guy that worked there took the time to check to see if they had it and then had it brought out from the back for me. I gave 4 stars because the first employee I asked looked at me like I had two heads.
Love the clothes. Had never shopped at a Zara before. The first day while I was in Chicago I found the store and had an enjoyable experience. All of the sales associates were helpful and friendly, even the lady security gaurd was friendly and helpful. The young man who checked me out was very friendly and nice. The second day I went back to get 2 coats that I had to think over and once again the lady security gaurd was very friendly and helpful. But when I went to check out the African American lady (she didn’t have a name tag or I would have written her name so That’s why I’m identifying her this way if management should read this and want to know who it is) working the registers was rude and hateful. She tossed my purchases in the bag giving little to no care about them and wouldn’t even look up to speak to me. I finally asked if she was having a bad day she snapped at me and informed me she was having a great day. My husband said he would hate to see her on a bad day if this was her great day. I would have given them 5 stars except for the sales associate at the register, and I hate to let one bad apple spoile the bunch as they say. Sad thing is I think she was a manager or at least a key holder. Dates went 10/27/2019 and 10/28/2019.
Such a shame to Zara we took 14 items from Zara sale and the guy packed in 2 bags and gave it to us.We reached home and checked the clothes there were only 10 items and we got charged for 14 items from this store.Such a shame people do this at store like Zara and ruin the name of it.Will surely escalate this and get refund.
You can find good stuff here for a reasonable price, but the service is horrible. You waiting in a long line in a busy lunch time, while only one associate working with customers trying to move the line, and another pretent to be busy counting coins. I could not wait any longer, left things behind, came back the next day - everything what I wanted was gone. And this is not the first time this way. Like this company does not really care about customers or making profit from sales.
Clothes for men blurr the gender lines. Not a fan. If you can look past that, youll like the selection. Slim fitting clothes and nice shoes. I look for shoes here first before checking anywhere else.
Their fitting room in second floor was closed and the sales girl in second floor was so freaking rude to people. I thought she was like that to me but then o saw her talking to everyone like that. I still gave 2 stars because it’s very clean and good store
I enjoyed shopping at Zara store on Michigan Avenue! The workers are very professional and always helpful.
Went there while in Chicago and the gentleman who helped us, I believe his name was Sam was great. Cool atmosphere, friendly staff. Take your girls here fellas and watch their eyes light up.
Zara clearly caters to the yuppie business executive who wants to look smart but not want to pay designer prices. The clothes are designed with clean lines and the fabrics chosen exude a sense of class and distinction. I personally like the jackets because of the slim cut, which fits me very well and makes me look better than other suits do, at that price range. The service staff here gave me the feeling of being slightly aloof and to some extent, unapproachable because they are so well groomed in comparison to me that I almost feel inadequate or ashamed to ask them for help. If and when you can overcome that feeling of inferiority, any purchase you make here will definitely make you look really professional.
Service was super slow because they only have 2 cashiers, while one was experiencing technical difficulties. Cashier was mean and rude. Didnt ask me if I needed a bag before she rung up my purchase. Then she told me she have to charge me 7 cents for the bag and dont accept cash for the 7 cents. Seriously?!?! You guys got a problem and you got to fix it.
How do you have so many people working in the store and only 3 people on registers....its Saturday!! One of, if not the biggest shopping day of the week. Taking care of the needs of the customer, Paramount in RETAIL! The MOD needs to be reconsidered.
Not many small sizes to shop for man.
Great clothes at a great price. Unfortunately, the staff offers mediocre service. Registers also close prematurely.
Very disappointing for a Zara. Not the best selection but the store was very tidy which is unlike some of the other Zara’s.
Excellent customer service
Awesome place where staff go to the ends of the earth to find what you are looking for
Great choices in men and children. Some articles are a bit pricey.Sale/clearance items off the chain.
I bought some shoes that I wore for 1 night and were killing me. I tried to return them because they are absolutely terrible. The clerk said they cant exchange or accept returns even if the shoes doesnt fit. Horrible store policy. I was visiting Chicago for 4 days, and this store was a complete disappointment. I spent $350 in this store which I wont ever be purchasing anything from again. Also, very unfriendly staff.
Interesting selection of clothes for women. Some great clithes for kids.
Had a great experience..not too pricey
My experience here was so bad, Ill never shop at a Zara again. The store was dirty, and the customer service was the worst Ive ever had - I felt like I was treated as subhuman. I considered whether to leave this review - I know it can be hard to work in retail and be nice to people all day - but it was such a bad experience I felt I didnt have a choice. Go somewhere - anywhere - else for your staples.
My first time visiting love the kids area.
Been here a handful of times & its always a mess (they do have a sale right now though) & long lines. The saving grace is the fitting rooms dont have a wait. The location & store layout is nice.
Cool looking, over-priced, and poor quality clothes. I was not asked once if I needed help. The store looks chic, but its rather anti-climatic. Id check out Macys clearance section before going here.
Great!
I love the trendy selection for girls and they are reasonably priced. My only complaint is the number of cashiers during weekday lunch time...not enough and slow.
Good stuff
Zara is obviously not for everyone but I love it. It fits right and their sale if you make it while it lasts is a great opportunity to refresh your wardrobe and style at an even better price.
