The bookstore can match lowest prices and is good for the students that need the book and also need to buy something in their budget.

The return policy is on a case-by-case basis.I bought a brand new chemistry book for $174.90. The next day, I found out I had to drop my class, because I did not meet the prerequisites. The cashier flatly said they couldnt take the book back. I kept going up the ladder and asked if there was something wrong with the books condition (being a day old). They told me there was nothing wrong with the book, but they were not going to take it back. I said I would contact corporate, and they said it would make no difference, as the store at Northeastern is independently owned.Save yourself a headache.

Im currently waiting for my books to come and its been over a week and my books still are not in. If it wasnt for me having a book voucher I would have ordered my books from Amazon( way cheaper by the way). This bookstore sells overprice books, have slow services, and should not be inside a school when students are struggling to pay tuition. Before coming here, look online for your books to save yourself money, frustration and time.

At the beginning of the Spring 2019 semester, I ordered one of my books from NEIUs online bookstore to be ready for pickup at the actual location. I had made sure I ordered a physical book as well. When I recieved my confirmation that it had arrived I went to the book store to pick it up, gave them the confirmation, it was a fellow African American gentleman who got of his register and gave me my order. However instead of a book I got a piece of cardboard with just the label on it, no physical book, no digital code, nothing. I asked them what this was, he said Im not sure and mumbled something of not knowing the whereabouts of the orders. I was like ok, cool I went to talk to whomever was in charge and told him I didnt get what I ordered, he asked me when did i pick it up. I told him just a few moments ago, he sounded like he didnt believe me even tho I had literally only been there for like 5 minutes. No I wasnt trying to pull a fast one on them. He asked the person who gave me the cardboard if he had just given me that. He lied and said he didnt, the person in charge came back and told in a different tone of voice, Ok so hes telling me he never gave you that before I had a chance to defend my case, he said he would give me my money back for the book, but still in a tone of voice as if he still did not believe me. I didnt really want a refund I just wanted the book. He said all he could do was just sell me one they had there. So I got refunded and he sold me a copy there which ended up costing a bit more than what I had originally paid for online for their used copy. He asked if Id like to rent it, but I thought to myself no thanks, i would not like to do business here again and go through the trouble of returning it.

DO NOT RENT from the Northeastern location. It is overpriced and if you dont return the rental on time they will charge you a late fee and 75% the price of a new book for a replacement. Keep in mind that when you rent from Becks Book Store you will receive an old copy. If you rent a book from Becks Book Store and you dont return it on time you will pay double the price of a new book, for a used one. The buyout options are absurd. Dont use Becks Book Store at Northeastern unless you have no other option. If you have to use their services buy the product DO NOT RENT it. They will not send you email reminder or any other notification prior to charging your account for the late fee and the replacement. It is unethical business practice.
