Several shops in the area werent able to find a very specific part for my Tiagra derailleur. The absolute professionals at Oscar Wastyn found it within 3 hours and had my bike fixed in less than a week. Even during the spring rush. Only 5 stars because Google hasnt added the sixth yet.

My dad purchased my first bike in 1958 when they were on Milwaukee Ave. He was very helpful and had great service.Cant believe the bad comments on service when customer service makes their reputation and existence.

Zero customer service. The older gentleman just stares at you when you enter, not saying a word. After looking around for 15 minutes, I approached him for some help finding a simple cruiser for the city. He acted like that was an absurd question.I asked about another bike on the rack with a price tag. He said that one isnt even ready yet. It still needed some parts added. This store was a complete waste of time, from customer service to actual product that was ready to ride.

Oscar Wastyn and his son Scott are terrific people who know bikes better than anyone. Been in Logan Square since 1910, not going anywhere. Stop in and say hello, you will be glad you did, large selection on bike and accessories. Very knowledgeable, friendly staff, great people.

Although not the most friendly service from the older gentleman, the other gentlemen in the back is far more friendlier and a more sociable person. Overall decent service and a wide selection of bikes and much more.

Stay away. Bad customer service and poor service. I took my bike in for maintenance to fix my brakes, when it was returned to me original parts unrelated to the brakes were either removed or replaced on the bike. They replaced one part back, but it still was not my original piece. They questioned me on it and were difficult and argumentative. The funny thing is my bike is a Specialized bike brand and it has a spec review with images online so you can see these two parts were changed. Never will go here again.

The place has history, good bikes, and a good staff. Some reviewers complained about the staff. These guys are no-nonsense. They want to sell you a good bike without all the fluff the other stores are doing. Theyre my type of people. Theyre also knowledgeable about the bikes. Several other bike stores on Milwaukee had trouble finding me the correct spoke tool for my bike, also nobody could answer any technical questions about maintaining and truing a tire. Oscar Wastyn didnt have any issues telling me what I needed to know.I brought my bike back for its one month tune-up for free. They washed the bike clean. After riding it every day 10-20 miles for a little over a month, it now looks and feels like its brand new. Ill be buying my kids bikes here too when they can ride.

Scott is extremely knowledgeable and was quite friendly. I have been coming to this bike store since I was a kid with my dad, who has been buying bikes here since the 70s. In an age of cheap junk you can easily buy online, this is a store where the ownership stands by their products and can fix anything you buy. Plus, the store is part museum with a bunch of old bikes from the last century plus. I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a quality bike, a tune up, or anything in between.

Went in here today and the man running the place was rude and said they have no bikes for sale except what was on display. Didnt offer to help us at all or tell us about the bikes he did have for sale.Despite all that there was a sign on the door asking people to wear masks and he was not wearing a mask. Would never come here again and we were ready to buy today.

The owner of this shop, Oscar is the rudest most inconsiderate, unprofessional man I have ever had the displeasure to speak with. I dont care how high-end you think you are, people ALWAYS remember how they are treated. If I could give you negative stars I would gladly do so. A little kindness and respect goes a long way, and it seems there are few business owners that understand this. Good riddance.

Over the years I have tried close to a dozen bike shops in Chicago, and when it comes to mechanical expertise, Oscar Wastyn is the undisputed Number 1 shop in the area. They have diagnosed issues, fixed mechanical problems and given new life to parts, which other shops have written off or been unwilling/unable to fix (this is very important if you own vintage bikes where certain parts are no longer available on the market). Whenever I have a technical issue these are the guys I trust because every time my machine runs smooth after they work on it. This is amazing when you consider that they also have some of the best prices and dont try to upsell you on stuff you dont need. There is no BS with these guys and you rarely get a smile from them, but I dont care as long as my bike runs smooth and fast! Also I have had some interesting conversations with Oscar and Scott and learned quite a bit about bikes from them

I consider this to be one of the best cycle shops in Chicago. This bicycle shop can do everything needed to repair a bicycle in fact they used to make bicycles here. If they dont have an item they can order it and have it to you in a few days. This is my favorite bicycle shop.

Very knowledgeable staff with a lot of good bicycles to choose from. I purchased my bike from them 3 or 4 years ago and get a tune up with them every year. Along with the tune up they keep my bike in storage for the winter so it doesnt need to be sitting in my apartment, which is a great perk!

I called to ask a few questions and the guy who answered the phone was extremely rude. Assuming Im a girl and dont know what Im talking about. Then hung up on me. I will not be going there when there is another bike shop not to far and the people are friendly and the service is great and prices are more than reasonable.

Not a bad place, but really, they are way overpriced for the items they sell. figure about 100% over internet price at rei and amazon, which is high to compensate for being a store --the light i page 23.79 plus tax is 12.79 on rei...will i return it, NO, i just wont go back here and certainly will never recommend this place as i feel they are not competitive.....maybe be 10 or 15% over reputable sources making it about 25% with tax, im ok with that, but 100%, give me a break......this store gives you nothing you would not get anywhere else at better prices....when i was there i checked bike prices, well if you over price them and then take off 10%, then the store makes out......and gets over on you and that is their game on everything they sell. i needed the light as i was biking at night and that was the closest place

Biking is the history of Wastyns. I believe it is on its 3rd generation of Wastyn ownership, still family owned and operated. They know bikes. Going in there, I know I can trust them to do a good job, find and fix the problem, and do it at a very reasonable cost. When you go in, give your self at least 15-30 minutes to walk around and read/look at the historical biking info they have about Chicagos multiple-day long biking events, bikes put together by other Wastyns -some of which hold records. They are down-to-earth people, and I enjoy talking with them. There is no frills or subtle nice-ities to make it/them look better than they are. They are all simply good honest people doing their job of fixing your bike well. Very trustworthy.

I bought my bike here a few years ago and had been going there for maintenance of a previous bike (eventually stolen) before that, but these guys have been in the bike business for 100 years. They have always done great work, and they are very efficient in processing the work and the transaction. Since I am a good ongoing customer who always brings in my bike for a tune-up each year, when something goes unexpectedly wrong (e.g., the inner tube the replaced blew out the next day because of a wheel lining flaw), they sometimes fix it up gratis. You have to be a steady customer to get that kind of treatment, but not everybody does even that. Thats the kind of thing that keeps me coming back and recommending them.tl;dr: Get your bikes and bike stuff at Oscar Wastyn. Best in the business,
