Came in for an oil change and I got an oil change, and all the employees were very nice.... but why werent any of the employees wearing face masks, especially in the office area where there is direct, open contact with customers? There was a plexiglass barrier set up between front desk/seating area but that doesnt negate the necessity of masks since air travels freely all around the room and employees frequently walked between garage/seating/office area & interacted with customers, all without masks. Weve had a state mask mandate for 9 months now, and I didnt feel entirely safe here, even for a few short minutes.

I had a great experience at Reliable Auto last week. I had my car towed there after it wouldnt start, they quickly looked at it, determined it was the only the battery (and not the alternator as the tow truck driver suspected) and replaced it within minutes while I was waiting. The staff were friendly, honest and knowledgeable, they live up to their good reviews. Highly recommend!

Went in for battery replacement, was in and out in >30 minutes and saved hundreds of dollars since they realized it was an easier issue to fix! Even pumped tires for free.Y’all saved me from getting fired! I had work an hour earlier than I thought... Reliable Auto Repair Center has been my go to for oil changes since moving to the neighborhood, but their service today went above and beyond. They really helped me out when I was in a pinch that needed to be solved ASAP with my car! Quick, quality service and a friendly staff.

Havent had any major work done here (yet), just stopped in for a couple questions and a look at a warning light. Extremely nice and seem totally fair. Will definitely be going here for any real work.

They were so great. Usually I go all the way to the suburbs to my familys mechanic but they were much closer and very professional. The son and father are both very patient and explained everything every step of the way. They didnt over diagnose and you can tell theyre just good people. Great experience!

This is how auto repair should be done. My fiancee and I had a broken door handle on our 2012 Ford and brought it in to be re-attached. The repair is simple, but takes time since the door has to be removed to reattach the locking wires. They told us the price up-front, and explained theyd need to order a few parts, and showed us what the missing parts were. They ordered the parts and we brought the car back Monday since the parts wouldnt arrive before then. We got a call when the car was ready and we were charged exactly what theyd told us it would be, no hidden charges or anything. The staff was also friendly and courteous the entire time we were there, and the best part, the handle looks like it never came off! All in all, excellent service from a local business. I certainly hope I dont have to take my car in often, but when I do, Im glad Ive found a place I can trust to do the job right.

Andy is the most honest, best mechanic I have ever experienced. I tell everyone to bring their car here. My neighbor once said he had a great mechanic to recommend. I told him to save his breath, I already had the best in Chicago. He told me I was wrong, that Andy @ Reliable was the best. I got to tell him that I was right...and so was he.

Ive lived in the neighborhood for a few years and Ive always been able to count on these guys. I have a 15 year old car and they help me keep it running well. Great service, very fair pricing. Most recently the release lever for my trunk and gas tank wasnt working on my way to work and I needed gas right away. They didnt even think twice about taking a few minutes to show me how to open my gas tank another way so I could get gas and get to work. I know Im always nervous about being taken advantage of by mechanics but these guys are trustworthy.

Most trustworthy, honest and nicest people. Took my car in to get new brakes, as they were making noise for some time. Got a call 25 minutes later telling me that my brakes look fine and have plenty of life. Paid $25 for a brake check instead of around $300. I dont call any other place now for any work done on my car.Very fair rates for oil changes, body work, and everything else.Not to mention the speed that they get everything done, very impressive. Ill be home for less than 30 minutes before I get the call to come back and get it.

These guys are great!!! I went to them with a issue that the Audi dealership wanted to charge an absolutely ludicrous amount to fix. They took the car for a day and had the problem fixed for a very fair price. Having gone to other independent repair shops over the years for my other cars, I think this is the best place in the city! I have now told at least 15 friends and coworkers about my experience. Keep up the good work as I will for sure keep referring friends.

Reliable isnt a fancy dealership. The interior is worn. Its your more typical gas - station throwback (no gas stops here.) However, their work is second to none. They use dealership (car manufacturer) parts. My family owned an auto service business. After it closed, I was lucky enough to find a place that does quality work. Ive had my Honda Pilot for 8 years and a BMW for 12. They take great care of both. I always recommend Reliable to everyone I know with a car.

They were able to fit me in with very little notice and had friendly staff.I did some research on the parts and labor required for the repair and believe I was charged a fair amount for everything.My only complaint is that I was told I would be called with a quote before they performed the work and this did not happen. However, considering everything else Im still very satisfied.

Seemed like a reliable auto shop as the estimated quote for the repairs done was reasonable and asked for full approval before completing repairs.However, the repairs required the front tires be temporarily removed to resolve the issue and therefore upon pick up we thought nothing of the low tire pressure diagnostic on the dash. Upon further inspection at home, half mile from the auto shop, there was a gash in the side of one tires.When we called the shop to ask if they would inspect the damage, the mechanic immediately became defensive. The mechanic claimed that it was Chicago and that anything could have caused the damage to the tire, refusing to even assess the damage to potential save the tire.This auto shop is sadly one of the reasons small family auto repair businesses cannot be trusted in modern times.

Dropped my car off to get a lightbulb replacement that another shop couldnt seem to get right. They also did an oil change. Very quick service and great prices! I dont feel like they are talking down to me or taking advantage just because Im a woman. They even stayed open past regular hours for me to pickup my car, since the train was running late.

Finding Andy and his son was like finding a unicorn, who new a auto place existed that did incredible work, at fair rates and were honest to a fault. Multiple times I came in saying I was worried about some problem, and Andy sent me home telling me it was something simpler and much cheaper to fix. Great place! Great People!

This is the best auto center I have ever been to. I actually trust these people. Ive been there for body work, new tires and oil changes. Each time, they fully explain the work performed and itemize costs for parts and labor. Theyre reasonable and honest. I would highly recommend this auto center.

Great shop! They are honest, fair and pricing is reasonable, especially for the area. I have used them several times over the past year since I moved to Lakeview. Went in today with electrical problems that have been going on for the past week. Today, of course, the problem was not happening. Even though they spent the day trying to recreate the issue (without luck), they did not charge me a penny for their time. And one of the mechanics even stopped by my car for one last look and to talk to me about the issues before I left. They recommended I take my car to the dealer for diagnostics if it happens again. I highly recommend this shop and won’t go anywhere else.

Great, honest, and fast service.

Came in on a early afternoon to see if they could fix my car. Told them I had a check engine light and what the diagnostic report said. Car was fixed within 2 hours at a reasonable price. I had a ignition coil problem. I already had the part so basically I paid for labor. Car is running like new again. Fixed what I came for and didnt try to sell me any other fixes.

I originally went here to get a second opinion on what the VW dealer told me... 3 years ago. Now I wont take my car anywhere else. They saved me ~$450 that day and probably thousands since.These guys are honest mechanics. They are courteous and knowledgeable, and if they know you can go another 500 miles without fixing something, they will tell you. They have never charged me more than what was fair. The only thing that might scare off some people is that their waiting room looks like its 1972 in there... but rest assured that your money is going to your car repair and not their waiting room decor.Bottom line: these guys rule.

Have been going here for over seven years and I love these guys. I have a 99 Honda CRV and whenever I come in, they only do what is needed. Some places seem to find a problem every time you come in but these guys dont. And if you describe an issue, theyre great at figuring out what the issue is. So despite having an old car, my annual auto repair costs have been low. Makes it hard to justify replacing my car with a newer model unlike many of my friends who spend thousands per year on theirs on a regular basis. I find them trustworthy and honest.

Had good experiences with them a couple of times but then they kept my car for an entire week without contacting me or touching it. I called them numerous times and they kept false promising to look at my car in a day until the day after I made a physical visit to the shop. The next day they finally called me for the first time.

Recommend these folks to everyone, they were a very fair price, explained things to me and solved the root problem that I had. Was worried about finding a good mechanic when I moved downtown. Now Im covered!

If I could give a zero I would. Brought my 94 Ford Explorer for a crankshaft sensor problem, charged me over 800. I thought the car was fixed but I was wrong. I was driving on I55S turning off on Weber rd when my car died again in 90° weather Memorial weekend. So I had it towed to my regular mechanics in Joliet (Wrecks) they looked at it and said it wasnt fixed in the first place. Run dont walk out of this place. Youll be lucky if they even speak to you. Waste of money.

Called on a Wednesday night to see how fast they could do an oil-change and general maintenance on my Car before a long drive to Dallas. Person on the phone said they were pretty backed up and asked if I could bring the car in Friday morning.Friday morning I drove over and their parking lot still looked packed. However, the man at their front desk said theyd take it in since someone had asked me to wait until Friday (He didnt even ask who had promised it or anything!).They called me about 2 hours later to let me know they thought I should have my front brakes swapped out, gave me a total estimate, and said they would be done in about another hour and a half. I came by to pick up the car a little after noon and the car was ready, their estimate was exactly what the final bill said, and there were no hassles.On top of all that, I could tell the difference in the brakes immediately.I think these guys are the opposite of every mechanic horror story your parents told you.
