It was purely by accident that I happened to come here but I guarantee you, this will be my go to shop from now on. It was nothing but perfect from the second I stepped in the door. The courtesy and friendliness I was received with was remarkable.I needed two tires repaired. The shop was full of cars being worked on and a very busy crew, including who I think was the owner, who was elbow deep in loading old tires and car parts onto a truck... yet it took less than 45 minutes for my needs to be addressed and to have me driving out the door.As I waited, person after person came through the door either to drop off or pick up their cars, and I kid you not, every single person was greeted by name and chatted up as if they were all old friends. This is EXACTLY what business used to be like and is sorely lacking in most of todays world anymore. Id become a repeat customer for that reason alone! The work was done on my car promptly and professionally and the price was exactly what it should have been, fair and reasonable.I live in Hillside, a good 40 minutes away, but I promise you this place is absolutely worth the travel.This was the best happenstance EVER!

Ashland Tire & Auto is my go to place for tire repairs or replacement, which is a fairly regular occurrence when you live and drive in Chicago year around.Jack the manager is very knowledgeable, a good listener, and a clear communicator. The staff is also great. If you are looking for the best tire deals, this is not the place, so please stop dinging them on tire prices, its just wrong. They provide fast, reliable service at a fair price. More importantly, they do all the little things right like putting your spare and tire kit back the way it was suppose to, and cleaning up properly when they are done working on your car. When you are paying someone to work on your car, you want to trust that they do what they say and you pay a fair price for the work. This is the place I trust more than anywhere else.

My car has been operating poorly for about a year and I risked my safety versus taking it in to get it checked out because as a woman, one of my greatest fears is walking alone into an auto repair shop expecting to be taken advantage of. I felt unsafe driving to my clients and constantly contemplated when the right time was to bite the bullet.When my car kept getting louder and louder and my brakes were grinding, I asked a friend for a referral and he steered me to Ashland tire and auto, providing examples of their honesty. Considering he is a straightforward and cost-conscious man, I was excited to get his recommendation. Sure enough, they provided me with a laundry list of what was wrong with my car but also helped me figure out which repairs were vital and which ones I could hold off on in order of urgency. They even showed me where to check and fill up my power steering fluid to ward off additional repairs for as long as possible.It’s never fun to drop a lot of money at the auto repair shop but I feel really good about the experience and grateful that I know exactly what’s going on with my car and fixed the most important issues. Went here on Sep 4, 2021 with a spare tire on my car. I had a nail and had to have roadside assistance put on my spare.This place repaired my tire and got it back on the car for $35. Guarantee if I went to the Mercedes dealership like I usually do they would have recommended new tires etc and charged me like $1,000.This place is AWESOME value

Best tire shop in the city. Had two tires replaced last year and another two this year. Had a wheel alignment issue that they were not able to fix but gave me a full refund. Rare to say these days, but these guys are extremely honest and care about you and your ride.

An honest mistake was made when mounting my tires to the wheels and management at this shop took great personal expense to ensure the issue was rectified. If honesty matters to you, use Ashland Tire and Auto.

Had a wonderful experience here recently! I had been to a different tire place because I had a punctured tire, and they said I would need a pair of tires for almost $600, which seemed like a terrible deal. I did some research online to find good tires for a better price, and found some that were well reviewed on Tire Rack. I called Ashland Tire and Auto because the Tire Rack tires would take a week to arrive, and I was hoping for sooner. First, the guy I talked to told me I would need to replace all four tires, not just two, because I have All Wheel Drive. I looked this up, and it is correct, so is a good thing I did not get the pair of tires, which would have messed up my alignment. But he told me I could get the exact tires I found online the next day for about $700 total (including mounting and balancing) the next day, or he recommended an even better reviewed set of tires that he could put on same day, also for about $700. This price was only about $30 more than the online price, which didnt include mounting and balancing. I agreed to this, but when I arrived, they said my tread was good enough on the other three tires to only need to replace the one punctured tire, as long as it was an exact match. It being a fancier tire than what I had been looking at, it was $200 total, but I was very pleased that they ended up charging me $500 less than what I had already agreed to over the phone. Also, they were able to find an exact tire match the same day, and they put it on in under 30 minutes. They gave me very fast service, saved me money, and gave me great advice! What a find!

Follow my reviews, Google tells me all the time they are great. I came because a friend told me she brought her car in twice. They couldnt find the problem. One of those, it works for me, ghost problems weve all had. They didnt charge her a dime. So I went, they rotated my tires and replaced breakpads + for 350. Thats roughly what I expected. They got it done in 2hrs. They wore their masks and were cordial as all get out. So five stars. Take it! Dont leave it. Good folks.

This place is incredible. I met them back in the late 1990s because I lived across the street and had just moved to Chicago. They were easy. Since then my first call is always to Jack and the team. Just had a battery warranty replacement today. They are the easiest and have the best customer service I have ever experienced. I cant recommend enough!

Yet another amazing visit to Ashland Tire! I went in thinking I needed.3 new tires, limping in on a donut, and they checked it and I walked out with a new tire and 2 new tire sensor kits in under an hour. These guys are wonderful - Ive never had a bad experience at this place. The mechanics are super friendly and know everything! Every time I go someplace else (never by choice) I regret it This last set of tires were purchased when I blew out 3 times hitting a gigantic Chicago pothole literally outside a different tire shop (a national chain), and Ive regretted it every day for the last 2 years. Ashland is so professional, and theyre affordable! Especially because they take care of you and dont want you to pay for what you dont need. I really trust them and recommend them to all my friends

A friend told me about this place after Toyota here in town quoted me $1,500 on work they said I needed after looking over my car when I took it in for a battery replacement, AND they charged me $80 just to look the car over. Ashland Tire went down the list of what Toyota said I needed and explained that none of those repairs were even necessary and that most of it could wait for years before the maintenance was even up on them accept for 1 small repair. Are you kidding me? Why would the dealer just straight up lie to me!Paid only $90 for one repair with Ashland so they saved me $1410!!! These people are obviously trustworthy I am very happy and I would gladly have paid a good deal more to get my car back on the road. Wont ever go back to Toyota dealer and very upset with Toyota and will come here from now on for all of my repair needs. Id been taking my car to Toyota for a few years thinking they had my back but they were probably ripping me off the whole time, I kind of feel like an idiot! Thanks Ashland Tire!!! I have had two very different experiences with Ashland Tire and Auto. Our first experience was perfect. I called to ask what time I could bring my car in for an oil change, they told me the time, I took it in, they got it done quickly. The most recent time, I called to ask what time I could bring my car in for an oil change, they told me the time, my husband took it in, they made him wait over 2 hours (even though they had specifically told me what time he should bring it in, and I told them my husband would waiting at the shop for the car - they had assured me they would get it done quickly and it wouldnt be a problem). Im not sure if this second time something came up, but it was really disheartening for them to make my husband wait that long when everything seemed completely understood over the phone. Their prices are fair and we havent had any issues with their work. I hope our next experience will give us a good 2 out of 3 tries.

TLDR: Honest, Professional, Reasonable Service Full Story: Not long ago I received an oil change at a separate, chain business, and I was informed that my belts were cracked and needed replacing. My car started squealing during accelerations and turns, and so I made an appointment with Ashland Tire. They told me how long it would take, roughly how much it would cost, etc. I was happy to discover that my belts were not in need of replacing, just tightening. What would have cost over $100 cost $41. Very pleased.

Great, seemingly direct and honest guys to deal with. Jack at the desk is gregarious and good at explaining tire and autumotive mechanical issues. The repair gentlemen seem to know what they are doing.We experienced the fastest possible replacement and balancing of two tires, and rotating of the older two tires from front to back I could imagine, particularly on a Saturday morning before eight a.m. I hardly sat down in their waiting room before they called me to take away the car.The cost was completely reasonable.

I brought in my car today for a tire repair. (I had taken it somewhere else yesterday and they had patched it and said it was good to go, but it was flat again by this morning). Everyone at Ashland Tire and Auto was very nice, they worked quickly, and were able to get me on my way to work with a new sensor that made for a happy inflated tire. They also took the time to tell me what to look for/reasons to come back and have it looked at again. I will definitely be going back and would absolutely recommend them to others.

Nightmare scenario. I had 4 new tires delivered for them to install. I drop my vehicle off and get a call a few hours later that my car is ready, however there was an issue. They broke my wheel lock key and therefore only were able to install 2 out of 4 tires. I would need to go to the dealership and get them to use their universal key to unlock the other two. I spent hours driving to and waiting at the dealership and had to pay for the labor and parts to install new lug nuts and to get the two locked ones off. This process isnt as simple and cost free as they made it seem it would be. Ashland Tire not only refused to cover my costs for this, but also were unwilling to charge me anything but full price for the tire installation. They refused to accept responsibility for a mistake they made (I dont care how common it is) and wouldnt offer ANYTHING to help make it right. Very poor customer service when it was clear that they were in the wrong. I do not recommend anyone have their tires installed here.

Great experience from when I called earlier in the week to check out. Called ahead and they gave me an estimate and said to come in, no need for an appointment. When I came in Ken was friendly, immediately offered assistance, and was able to replace my brake and turn lights on the spot in 5 minutes for a great price. Very positive experience overall, convenient location, quick service, and great deal, highly recommend and Ill definitely be back next time I need anything!

Love Ashland Tire & Auto. You will not find a honest, trust worthy shop like theirs in the city of Chicago. In my experience, they have gone out of their way to put my needs ahead of theirs.I left my lights on accidentally and it drained my battery, so I needed a jump. Ended up going to 4 auto part stores to get my battery tested. All 4 told me battery is fine, but my alternator needs to be replaced. I scheduled an appointment at my convenience to drop my car at their shop. They took a look at my alternator, saw no issues and charged me nothing. I have not had any issues since.These guys are honest and straight forward. I asked them for a new alternator, they could have gave me a new one even though I did not need one. They chose to do right by me.If you want an auto body shop that puts their clients first, call these guys and I have no doubt they will earn your trust just like they did mine.

Honest shop - We had a nail in our tire and our dealership told us because it is a run-flat tire they could only replace the tire. After reading other review, I took the car to Ashland Tire and Auto. $30 dollars later, drove away with the same tire in perfect condition, minus one nail.

Im not really a car guy and my main concern with auto mechanics is that they are hoodwinking me or charging me extra for things I dont need. There was none of that here. I took my car in for a brake job (brakes were grinding). They were extremely fast to diagnose, give me a quote, and repair the same day, even though they were booked for a week. And they gave me a very reasonable, honest price for a full break pad/rotor repair and never tried to take advantage of me or recommend other mystery repairs or labor. Lightning quick service. Great price. Zero BS. I will be taking my car here in the future and recommending to anyone who needs a reliable mechanic.

I dropped my car off promptly at opening at 7am and they were already swamped (good sign) and I left for work (not really being concerned with how fast it got done because I was picking it up later). As long as youre in no hurry and you dont mind being the first one there and the last one helped then this may be the place for you. I ended up not having my tires put on today but since they were delivered there from the tire rack I will end up having to go back to have it done but on a day when Im in no hurry and customer service is not as important.

Perhaps they are the best mechanics in Chicago! I have been taking my cars here for a while, not often, but most of my repairs are done here. The price has always been reasonable, always call you and explain you in detail what needs to be done, always transparent about the cost! I have found out on several occasions that they contacted my warranty company so I didnt have to! Ive been taking our cars to Ashland Tire & Auto for years no matter what neighborhood we live in. Their honesty and service really cant be beat. Nothing like picking up your car and paying a couple hundred less than you were expecting because ah, we just took care of that other thing for you, no charge. I love this place.

They are trustworthy and fairly-priced, and I cant tell you how many times they told me I didnt need work that another facility told me that I needed to have done. Quick turnaround time, even when they are super busy. And the customer service is unparalleled; even the way they answer the phone. They are the best; I wont ever go anywhere else.

They are honest, they will give you advice about what repairs absolutely need to be done now and which can wait. Just now, they essentially checked over some work I had done by another mechanic while I was out of Chicago, and they didnt even charge me for setting my mind at ease. Make an appointment-you may need to wait. But its worth it to just CTA it for a couple days in order to see these folks.

This is one of only three places in the entire state of Illinois I would ever take my or my loved ones cars. I drive over an hour to come here every time and as long as they are open I will continue to! There is no better place!

Solid place. I have been coming here for about 20 years. The other day my girlfriends car was displaying error codes. Jack has it looked at and driven 3 times over two days. They can find nothing. Charge nothing. Reset the computer for free. Mechanics are not cheap, still no charge. Solid.
