Transmission went out in Rawlins Wyoming towing a camper on a trip to the Tetons. Worked with Randy who was always available and accommodating. The repair took longer than expected but we did get the vehicle back in time for another 1200 mile trip to the middle of nowhere in New Mexico. It was expensive but transmission is now working well and we have an 18 month warranty so Im satisfied. Vehicle is a Lexus RX 300 which nobody in Rawlins would work on.

Left a transmission with them for diagnosis. Their policy is $250 for diagnosis which I was ok with. They found it damaged beyond a routine rebuild. After calling several shops getting estimates for rebuilds or even an off the shelf rebuild I found them to be quite pricey. I couldnt afford to use there services further. So I told them as much and they were immediately very rude. That is THEIR policy. Pay $250 for diagnosis. They were very rude when they didnt earn the full business. It took them 4 days to have it ready for me to pick back up. When I did it was 100% broke down with some parts in a cardboard box and all others just separated completely soaked in transmission fluid. Soaking through the cardboard. How is someone supposed to pick that up? I told them I didnt know what to expect but this did not seem like good service considering I did pay their $250. The manager instantly raised his voice and was super unprofessional. I admit I didnt know diagnosing required a full tear down and Id be getting it back in a million pieces. I though a bench test or open it up a bit. I was nieve but they should have been more clear. The whole thing was very unprofessional and I would not recommend them to anybody.*******Update*******After I left this reply the owners reached out through this forum saying they dont operate like this. I believe you can see their reply. Well they reached out publicly making it look like they would work with me to resolve the issue. I did reach out and emailed them as they requested but I have never heard from them. They ghosted me. They apparently never had any real intentions of fixing or addressing this issue. Only made it look publicly like they wanted too. Please stay away from this company. Give your business to a mom and pop shop who actually care to earn it.

UPDATED:I have towed my friends truck back here twice after having a transmission rebuilt. Transmission never worked right after the rebuild, would shift funny and always overheated, even with the truck completely unloaded. Now they want huge dollars to rebuild the transmission they rebuilt two years ago. Stay away.Picked up whats left of the transmission today. Found the transfer case was also pulled apart for a leak inspection. Work was okayed by the owner, I will give them that. All the parts from the transmission and transfer case are mixed together, and now I have a giant expensive puzzle to put together. What started as a trans flush two or so years ago on a truck that drive into that shop is now a giant pile of parts and truck thats been a trailer queen. Youre probably better off pushing your car or truck to and from work than getting a transmission from here. Also emailed the owner as he requested below, never had a response.

Moving from Indianapolis to Utah and started having car trouble right outside of Cheyenne. I called almost every auto shop in town and everyone was full and couldn’t take me in to get a diagnostic for a few days. Went to AAMCO and they immediately looked at it and were able to do more in depth diagnosis within a few short hours. Alex was extremely helpful and a life savor! The front desk service was fantastic. I have no complaints about the service there. However, their technicians are extremely reluctant to do anything after their initial service. I took in my truck to get the clutch rebuilt. The actual clutch works fantastic, but I informed the Tech that the master cylinder was leaking and needed to be re done. This was after I had to have the line to the master re-bled. A week or so later, after letting the vehicle sit for a time, I got in to drive it and the clutch bottomed out with barley any pressure. I took the truck back and had the manager do an inspection and sure enough, the master cylinder was leaking. I do not suggest this store simply for the lack of service and professionalism showed to me by the technicians in the back.

The guy said you should be ok with just pads til you Get to Texas. We left and didnt make it 30 miles down the road when we smelled burning brake pad. By the time we got to Aamco our brakes were smoking and seized to the rotors. Aamco fit us in and rebuilt the whole entire brake system all while allowing us to stay in our RV in the parking lot while the job was taken care of. They wanted $6600 for transmission which is way over priced according the transmission repair guide. Went to a local transmission shop and was quoted $5600 for the same service. Paid $340 for no reason just to be told I need a transmission repair. I’m adding more to my post because Randy said i wrote a false statement. First off I did have the money to get my car fix but knew it shouldn’t cost $6600. Secondly other transmissions shops quoted me from $5200 to $5600 for the same repair. What Mr. Randy didn’t realize was that AAMCO was my third estimate of the week. He didn’t like my review and called me to basically delete my review for telling the truth. I’ve spent over 19 years serving in the United States Air Force so I have no reason to lie, especially when people try to rip you off because your in the military.

A woman on the road alone, hauling a camper....and easy target! On a trip from CT the transmission seemed to be slipping a bit when I hit the Black Hills in SD. Decided a nationally known place, like AAMCO, would be a trust worthy place to get it checked out. When I pulled into there at the end of the work day, I finally convinced them to just check the fluid, which they did and I was then presented with an example of what it should look like and what was supposedly my fluid looked like. Its totally burnt, the transmission is fried...DONT EVEN DRIVE IT OUT OF THE LOT!Well that will put the fear of God into a traveler, which seems to be their plan. The manager, Randy, was very kind to pull my camper to a nearby campground for the night. In the morning, after the 2 hr scan, Randy called to tell me I needed a new or rebuilt transmission for $4500, he could get it in 3 days. I decided to trust my gut and drive to Colorado Springs that day, closer to my eventual destination. After I had it checked out by 2 other shops (not AAMCO) both agreed that a flush and change of the fluid would be just fine. Great service and $150 later I was on the road. Not a stumble in the 3,000+ miles back to CT.Ironically, when I shared that story with my car maintenance guy back here, he had heard the exact same phrase from AAMCO in Cheyenne when he was out west and needed a transmission check....DONT DRIVE IT OUT OF THE LOT He also choose to ignore the advice and has driven 30,000 miles since.BEWARE!! Had the transmission rebuilt with a 3 year warranty. A week after picking the vehicle up, I experienced shifting problems on the interstate. Randy was unprofessional because of another negative review naming him and told me he was not looking at the vehicle. Craig, the owner, told me he was not going to fix the problem due to our history (apparently it matters to mention I am a previous employee), regardless of warranty. Conversation recorded. The extent of looking at the problem was hooking up a scanner and claiming there was multiple misfires on all cylinders. This was done by Paul M. I have all documents on the vehicle, even from another shop exactly 1 week later stating there were no misfires and problem lies with the transmission. Problem was a bent bracket for the kick down cable, plus 2 transmission fluid leaks. Essentially, if the scanner was ever hooked up and the vehicle was driven, it would have been known that the vehicle was downshifting into second instead of third. Basically, if you have the means take your vehicle to the Aamco in Fort Collins. Todd and Lance are the best and demonstrate a completely higher level of professionalism, respect and dont create phantom problems to gain more money. Say what you will in your response Paul, but you will not take responsibility for your inadequate attempt in repairing the problem and will instead bring up things that are irrelevant, such as me being a previous employee, to distract from the shops responsibility to have integrity with customers.

Short story: exceptional, courteous, and timely service with some impressive honoring of the warranty thrown in to ensure we walked away happy!Long story: Our little adventure began when I loaned my beater pickup to my oldest son to make a trip to Cheyenne and through one abuse or another he managed to obliterate the transmission. After calling around to different shops we decided upon Aamco Cheyenne for several reasons, (free tow in with repairs, overall cost, warranty, etc.) After a very needed rebuild, they patiently waited until my son could get back to town and arrange payment and pick up of the vehicle. After a couple months delay I was able to fly down to Cheyenne to get my truck from him and could tell that something just wasnt right. I gave them a call and they got me in the very next business morning and made the needed adjustments, and sent me on me way. Confident that my repaired truck would get me and my daughter home to South central Montana we headed out. Sadly, about 65 miles outside of Cheyenne, through no fault of the rebuild or mechanics, the transmission stopped... transmitting. Back on the phone with the manager Gary, and a tow truck was immediately sent out for us, and our repair was finished quicker than expected given the depth of the problem. Anyway I am tired of typing but let me finish by saying I was extremely impressed with the responsiveness of the staff, the quality of repairs, and going above and beyond to honor the warranty! Hope there is never a need, but we would go back for any service needs.

AAMCO stated I had transmission cooling lines leaking (around $600 quoted to fix), was 3 quarts low on transmission fluid, 2 quarts low on oil, needed a new serpentine belt ($130 quoted to fix), and had a coolant leak (needs more diagnosing). I took my car to the dealer to confirm. The transmission was only 1 1/2 quarts low. The dealer said this natural occurs by seepage through the gaskets. The transmission cooling lines look fine. The serpentine belt only needed to be tightened, not replaced, and there is no coolant leak. I would not recommend AAMCO on Dell Range to anyone unless you feel like getting swindled.

I took my grand cherokee in for a leak in the steering system and some noise made when turning. After their first look which apparently wasnt in depth enough to locate what was causing either, they requested I authorize them to charge me a shop fee for them to really look at the issue closer to determine what was wrong. After this in depth inspection I was told the pressurized steering fluid line and all 4 of the tie rod ends were bad. Well I found it highly unlikely that all of the tie rod ends were bad, especially since I had 2 replaced a couple years ago. The tie rod itself had a visible bow to it so why that needed an in depth inspection to determine it needed to be replaced is still a mystery. I then checked the hose to see if I could find the leak and could not find a source. A few shop towels later the hose and steering pump were all cleaned off, something that this in depth inspection should have done to find a leak, it was quite obvious that the leak was coming from the pump itself. I called them back and told them what I found and that I their fee was a joke. They wouldnt consider any form of refund but simply offered to look at it more closely again. No Thanks

Went in for a waterpump and came back with more problems, 2500 dollars with a 130% APR loan, and a supposed blown head that revealed itself under their care. DO NOT EVER GO HERE.

Financing available to everyone! NOT!! My brother STILL has yet to receive his Honda crv after being promised they qualified for financing. Apparently that is a lie. After having the vehicle for over 2 weeks the total of fixing the timing belt and odd and ends reaches 5000 until we put our foot down. All of a sudden they can do this and that about price, albeit the fact the car is still not ready!! The only reason I am commenting on my brothers behalf is because it has fallen in the familys hands to cover the outlandish expenses. The car kbb for less?!?! Scam artists and very unprofessional

I drive a Volkswagen with over 100,000 miles on it. It had started slipping out of gear intermittently and I wanted it checked out prior to an upcoming trip. I was unable to get a timely appointment at My VW dealer and went by AAMCO on Del Range to get my transmission checked. I was greeted and listened to by the owner/manager and offered a free inspection before getting any unnecessary service. It turned out that my particular transmission requires special tools and test equipment that is unavailable to non-VW shops and technicians. Fortunately the people at AAMCO on Del Range are honest and they even refused to charge me for their full day of working to diagnose my transmission problems and the fact that it is a sealed system that only VW technicians can service. I will recommend them to anyone seeking honesty and excellent service. All my future transmission servicing or maintenance will be done at AAMCO (Except for the VW, of course).

I had my transmission fixed in Southern California Aamco and they did an absolute wonderful job. I drove it back to Wyoming and started having some issues but at least I thought I had a warranty and they would take care of me. When I got the Cheyenne Wyoming Aamco manager advised me he would not be honoring the warranty and that it would only be good in California. I was told when I bought the transmission that any Amco will honor the warranty. Not to mention that the manager reeked of alcohol and look like they just pulled him off the barstool . Extremely unprofessional and attempted to bully me but did not work very well. Never again will I go to an Ammco transmission unless its the one in Southern California where the manager named Sal works.

ONLY GO HERE FOR BIG PROBLEMS! Not very good appointment making. More like a car daycare for half the day, and repair service for the rest the day. Not sure if they intend to tell lies, but I would be wary. Mislead me and just told me what I wanted to hear.

WOW! Looks as if several of your customers arent too happy Craig. Sure wish I would of taken a look at these reviews before I took my vehicle to your shop because i would of went somewhere else from the beginning. Was told that the clutch slave cylinder was leaking and in need of replacement.. Need my vehicle back so I authorized the work, was told by the front end guy he would call me in the morning. This was on a Friday, didnt get a call until after 12:30 and couldnt take the call so went by there @ 1:45 to find them closed. I called in the morning and was spoke to very rudely, and didnt like the tone either.said hed call me with an update @ lunch its now.9am. At 1240 I called back to see what the verdict was was told he didnt know where the mechanics were on it but he will call with some info before they close. Ha! NOT Called again @9am Tues morning still very little info given to me, came by the store @ 130 and asked if it would be done by 5pm. Again was told Id receive a call.(Guy must be afraid of the telephone) Told me itd be done in the morning, no call by 1230 so I called and was told hed call me back by 2;00. NO CALL! went there again hoping to take my truck home but NO now it also needs a master cylinder. Asked if Autozone or another parts house was bringing one . I offered to go get one and just got snapped at and he said I make money selling parts too. My response was I need my $^&*(*(^ truck. Told me hed call when he heard from his vendor. Called Ben back at 4:50 and asked what I owed up to this point and was quoted $645.**.. But when I asked what the total would be I was told $609**. I will NEVER do business at either of your establishments again. Truck will be towed to an HONEST shop in the AM.Mr Craig Hiett I am expecting you to do the right thing and come to some sort of agreement with me. I will be paying the full bill in the morning so I can remove my truck from your property however seeing the other reviews there seems to be a culture of dishonest employees, not sure if you train them this way or not but something needs to change at your shop. A phone call will be made to the corp office of Aamaco to voice my displeasure and alert them to your employees practices. Feel free to get my phone # off the receipt if youd like to address this issue.

Had an issue with my cruise control. Made an appointment for the following day and sheepishly have to admit it was owner error. The guys had me in on time, diagnosed and back out the door at no charge. I wont take my vehicle anywhere else - thank you!!

Go anywhere but here. Their expected date of completion is always a week off. The parts they order are wrong or dont work. They busted my line in my car and tried charging me to repair what they broke. All around dont recommend this place
