Just bought a 2021 Civic Type R from First Team Honda. I could not be any happier from their service. I have tried to purchase multiple vehicles here due to the close proximity to my house, but have never been able to come to agreement. Each time, i find a better offer for my trade and get the same car much cheaper somewhere else. The last sale person i worked with was great but everything else about the experience not so much. I agree to purchase a vehicle, then when i am about to sign the paperwork i find they added a 2k mark up on the price. When i told the manager i was walking, he tries pressuring me with, i got another buyer for this car coming in tomorrow. Save yourself some time and go somewhere where you are treated as more than just another number and how much money they can get you to over pay.

This is the best dealership I have ever been too. The price on my new Honda was the lowest out of the 7-8 others I checked previously, and the customer service was outstanding. Mindy helped me with everything and was the sweetest, knowledgeable and most helpful sales person I’ve ever interacted with. Mark, the GM, was also super helpful with sending me the out-the-door pricing before I came in, and setting up my out of state registration. I live in Boston and flew to VA because they had a better inventory, straightforward pricing, and the best service you could ask for. Mindy and Mark handled everything over the phone for me, and I just took a flight down and drove the car away two hours later. Best experience I’ve had buying a car in my life!!!

First team has always treated me like family and goes above and beyond to do right by their customers. This was our first time purchasing from the First Team auto group. We have been faithful customers of another local competitor dealership for almost 20 years, until now. Malachi and the managers at First Team provided a completely unique experience that made us feel like VIP. While shopping on my own, at no point did I feel rushed or pressured to purchase. This was the second CR-V I leased with him and it certainly wont be the last time I see him. This was my 4th Honda obtained through First Team because they do a great job. Diane Johnson in the Service Department is the best person to have on your First Team.

I have personally dealt with is dealership for now 5 vehicles. Being a single woman they have listened to all my needs and budget and I love upgrading every 2-3 years with a new vehicle cause I lease. The service department is great along with everyone from Sales, managers, financing, and the Owner. Such a great place. They have me for life !

When a customer asks how long it will take and you reply with couple hours, please specify if that means 3 hours or 8 hours. If you were gonna take all day on my car, just let me know next time because that is totally fine, I just need to plan my day around it instead of checking my phone every 2 hours in case I had a missed call because I was told “couple hours”. Very inconsiderate. Then after 6 hours of waiting they call me about an estimate, not even started on my car when I clearly brought it in to get anything fixed. The only positive thing about this service was Bill from shuttle, he deserves a raise. Being kind and positive to all these angry customers you make wait all day.

Got a great price for our new vehicle. The team was your normal level of pushy for sales, my biggest complaint was poor time management. Back to back days of pushing me past the time I needed to leave, including trying to continue as I was actively walking out on them the first day. The selection was good, the team knowledgeable, and the pricing fantastic. Plus their free lifetime oil changes and towing is a nice touch.

My mom bought her new car from First Team. Once we were switched to a new representative it went pretty smoothly. They let her test drive a couple of cars. I do wish dealerships would figure out a way to make this whole process go faster. Why does it take all day (we started at 11:45 AM and didnt finish up till after 5 pm). Its not all their fault. . .DMV and bank. . .but it would be nice to get it down to 3 hours. This is the car she bought. . .

Poor service. This is the 3td time I have made an appointment for maintenance on my car. Each time I say I will wait. Each time they list it as a drop off. Offer to give you a ride yet they want go as far as I need to go to work. If they give you a ride and ask if you can call for a pick up when you are done they do not do that, you have to wait until your car is finished and they will call you when they are ready to get you. If you call and have to leave a message you never get a call back. You make an appointment for a certain time and they say that is drop off time and the car could sit in the shop for however long.

Everyone I dealt with was very helpful and pleasant.

First of all I want to thank Mindy Lothan for making my daughter and I feel welcome at the dealership. When we walked into the dealership on Sunday, February 28, 2021, one of the male salesperson did not speak or hold the door for us when me, my daughter and 5 year old granddaughter was approaching the show room. We walked in nobody thought to speak. However, Mindy greeted us with a warm smile while all the other sales people walked past us like we did not exist. She took time to listen and went over and beyond for us. The next day my daughter went back to seal the on her 2021 Honda Civic, the General Manager and another salesperson assisted Mindy. They provided her with outstanding service and treated her like she mattered. Thank you all again it really meant a lot.

Once they realized my credit was not perfect .. they ushered me out quick fast and hurriedly .... Never again. There is no excuse for poor service regardless of the circumstance.

The sales staff at First Team Honda is excellent. My husbands truck died and we had to replace it right away. We werent sure if we would be able to afford 2 car payments. After looking at all the figures not only did we get him a new (used 2016) truck, but I drove out of the dealership in a brand new 2020 Civic that we are leasing. To start off, my husband had a great buying experience with Malachi, this review is not for him, it’s strictly for the service dept. We brought our truck to the service department to get a new key made and to get a part replaced that was triggering the check engine light. We brought the truck in on Tuesday morning. We were told that the truck would be ready later that day and we would get a call to come pick it up. We didn’t hear from them all day so we called at around 4:30 to check on it. The woman we were talking to said that she would call right back when she found out the status of the truck. We didn’t hear from her until the next day, which is extremely unprofessional in my opinion. She said that they didn’t have the part, but we can leave the truck there until they got the part. About a week goes by and we don’t hear back, so again we have to call to check the status. They still don’t have the part so we went and picked up the truck and they told us we can take it back once they got the part in. When we went to pick up the truck, we asked about the key that was supposed to be made and it wasn’t made. The woman said the key guy hasn’t come “in a few weeks” so it wasn’t made. We know this was a lie because we were previously told he comes every Tuesday. But whatever, we still took our truck home waiting for the part to arrive. About two or three weeks go by and we still don’t hear anything from them so of course we have to call and again check on the status. The person who we were talking to said there wasn’t even an order for the part for our truck and he would call back on Monday. On Monday we got a call saying that we can bring the truck in on Tuesday. We brought the truck in on Tuesday and got a call on Thursday saying the truck was done and ready to be picked up. But of course the key still has not been made so we have to leave it there again until Tuesday. It’s currently Tuesday and we just picked up the truck that is supposed to be fixed. As we’re driving home, the check engine light pops up again. I can’t believe we waited to long and did so much for our truck to be fixed and it’s still not fixed. This is 100% their responsibility to fix, however we are beyond frustrated with them so we will be taking our truck elsewhere to be fixed.

The customer service here, ability to complete work on dead line or have adequate follow up is severely LACKING. I called Keith Bradshaw the service manager middle of last week and still NO call back, I was lied to over the phone a couple times and OVERCHARGED for work. If you need honest, reliable work done on car do NOT stop here!!! I actually came in to have flashing light diagnosed, they gave me some astronomically priced repairs and $2300+ later the light is STUCK on with the statement oh you need something... ( another several hundred dollars) then I went another place and guess what, the dealership was just trying to take advantage.😲 SMH never did I think Keith and Diane would be this. Will definitely work on posting BAD business places like Honda dealership (Chesapeake) on Western branch Blvd to ensure people know where to AVOID going.

I scheduled an early morning appointment for a simple battery change service. Two hours later and I am still in the waiting room, have received no updates or information from any staff members, and am now very late to work.Edit: Management came and apologized to me personally, and gave me a discount on my service. Still late to work, but I do appreciate the gesture.

I would like to thank Mike Jobson of the First Team Honda team for working with me on the purchase of my new 2021 Honda HRV. Mike was extremely helpful in explaining and answering all of my questions before and during the purchasing process. Everything went very smooth. All of the people at First Team Honda are wonderful and friendly. They are willing to assist you and I didn’t feel rushed at all. Because of my experience with Mike and the people at First Team Honda the next time I need to purchase a new car or any of my friends and family need to I will definitely recommend them to First Team Honda.

Please explain how my appointment is at 2:45 and Im still having to wait two hours to actually have the service on it, done?!Maybe its just me but when an appointment is made, THE TIME OF THE APPOINTMENT is WHEN services should be rendered.But hey, continue to waste your costumers time, so yall can make more money..How would this place succeed if thier costumer base was two hours late to confirmed appointments? Just curious.

While the establishment does business the way any car dealership has to to make money, they are up front about it. My sales guy Moe was very nice and welcoming. The sales manager Brandon was awesome. When we agreed on a price, I felt it was very fair and I did not feel like I was being taken advantage of. They both answered all of my questions and produced paperwork to support it. I felt so comfortable there and everyone was super nice and hospitable. I would HIGHLY recommend this dealership.

This was one of the best car buying experiences Ive ever had. DA Young is one of the most delightful human beings Ive ever met. He listened to my needs and then did such an amazing job making sure that First Team Honda could meet them. My wife and I replaced her 2013 Nissan Rogue with a 2020 Honda Pilot Elite from First Team Honda. We worked with Moe Zia and he was fantastic. With the Covid situation we were able to setup a table outside and do the whole deal there. A small factory paint issue was handled quickly, and the negotiations were friendly and fair. We feel we got a fantastic deal, and appreciate the extras that First Team provides (Oil changes, State inspections, etc). This is our first Honda, but if it treats us as well as the dealership we will be very happy. We would highly recommend First Team Honda and Moe Zia.
