Java Room is a wonderful local coffee house/wine bar with very friendly and competent staff. Youll feel very welcome there with an outstanding cup of coffee and muffin! (or many other items on their fine menu)
One of my favorite cafe is open again. I cannot wait to start going here again. Love the environment and coffee.
The Hidden Gem in Chelmsford Center, this is the perfect place to catch up with a friend, work, read a book or sit down and look out the window while taking a break- kind of place. I went to The Java Room around mid-morning to have coffee with a friend on a cold, snowy day and was surprised by the comforting, cozy and welcoming atmosphere. They also have a wine bar that’s opened all day!!! Everyone is very friendly and courteous, the cranberry orange muffin and latté I had were delicious. I haven’t tried any other goodies yet, but they had some amazing good looking desserts on display. They offer a monthly Event Calendar and live music on Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday at brunch time. I found out that The Java Room has been in business for 14 years and they don’t advertise, but count on word of mouth. So let’s spread the word! Quickly becoming my favorite place to hang out in town.
Great place for a quiet meeting or studying! Theres a variety of drinks and snacks. Give it a try!
Unfortunately I did not have a coffee. Set up a business meeting there was running late sat down with customers who already had theirs started talking and they closed while I was presenting. They were very nice let us sit there talking while they were closed and only said something when we were wrapping up. Never rushed us to leave.
Love going to Java Room. Great coffee. Their chai is also amazing.
Great place to stop for coffee. The atmosphere is chill and there are regular performances on weekends (at least there were in the Before Times). They also serve alcohol during those performances, so it is a great spot for a date night. The owner, Candy, is often nearby and cares a lot about the establishment. Baristas are all very nice, I have almost never had a poor experience there. The food is mediocre to poor, so stick with the coffee/specialty drinks and you will love it.
Have been coming here for over 15 years, still some original employees. Always clean and comfortable with great tea & coffee. Try a wrap for a full lunch, cesar wrap is always good. Say hi to Candy the owner.
Great vibe and good coffee.
Great breakfast. Coffee was amazing.
A longtime favorite of mine, The Java Room is a great place to just relax and have some good food, coffee, and occasionally live music. All of this is coupled with amazing service, and often short wait times. If you need a place to decompress, this is it.
This coffee shop has been around for ever, but I just finally had a chance to visit...now I am a regular!! Wonderful staff, all organized for social distancing...coffee and food is just perfect! Thank you!
Very happy to have found out about this place. I love their chai! My husband got the strawberry & ice cream blender and it was great, too. Quiche and chicken curry wrap were both fresh and delicious. Definitely coming back soon to try more offerings!
Good coffee sweet treats!
Great coffee and atmosphere! Good menu too!
Our usual stop for weekend coffee since we live near by. Iced coffee is ok, muffins are fairly good. Not sure wed drive way out of our way for this place, but its the best option within a couple miles. Even if their large iced coffees are a little on the small side.
Great staff and recommendations. This space is with the visit. Allow yourself to be immersed by the energy the space emits. The portions are just right and their large selection of beverages are not too complicated. Youll find something for everyone here!
I love the Java Room!!! I have had many relaxing hours talking to good friends with Java Room drinks and treats. It is also good to go there alone if you have some computer work to do!!!It is definitely one of my favorite places to go!!!
Staff great, poppyseed muffin and peppermint hot chocolate yummy
Very nice staff and the atmosphere makes me feel like Im at home drinking coffee. They will give you a coffee mug if you decide to take a seat. Good coffee and good vibes!
Very good quality food and beverages the prices however are not! Look folks this is chelmsford not the town of Carlisle. Please adjust your prices according to local income levels, please do!
Great coffee, nice atmosphere. I love the love music whenever Ive been lucky enough to catch some performances. Also, Kelly is extremely pleasant and always makes my coffee perfect! 😊😊
Cute coffee shop with plenty of coffee options and non dairy milk options. I went when there was a live jazz performance and loved every second of it.
The place is a very large and friendly coffee shop. small coffee shop vibe, but a large coffee shop area. There is a wine bar off to the side and live music playing on the weekend. The baristas were very cute and friendly.
Great coffee shop to grab a drink and a snack and to get some work done! Chill vibes there, good atmosphere. Also their tea and food is very yummy.
Needed a place to hunker down to get a couple of hours of work done prior to a meeting. The staff were very friendly, food and drinks tasty, seating comfortable and varied, and wifi faster than Ive come across at any Starbucks or other chain. Definitely recommended!
Very nice vibe and aesthetic, great coffee, however, it is slightly pricey! Regardless, I can’t wait to return!
Everyone working here is really friendly and the coffee is amazing. Great vibes - we had someone playing piano for us. Definitely will be back!
The Java Room feels like the kind of coffee shop where you can go sit and work or hang with friends for hours without a second look. The atmosphere is very friendly and local. Service was pleasant and fast. The coffee was very good and perfect for a long drive up to Maine. They even allow dogs at the outside tables. Great stop pretty close to 395 for a pit stop.
The Java Room is a great coffee shop that frequently features local musicians and singers. The drinks and desserts are tasty and the atmosphere is quite relaxing. There is also a wine bar, which is a great option when attending one of the open mic nights or featured artist gigs in the evenings.
Great coffee and atmosphere. On the weekends theres usually live jazz. Food and snacks are pretty good. A little pricey, but the quality and environment are worth it
Great, smooth coffee. Fast staff. Bustling atmosphere and live piano. Highly recommended 👍
Great macha latte without sugar.
Nice coffee shop. Good beverage menu and food. Easy to get work done there.
Good coffee, great staff, and moderate prices. The jazz venue looks well prepared, and the wine bar is classy. A clean and relaxed atmosphere. It would be nice to see a better discount on coffee refills.
Delicious menu and the service is wonderful! 100% recommended
Been there often and the food and cafes are good. The cleanliness needs attention, the lights over the service area and tables are full of dust and have been for a long time! Yuck, makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. Having second thoughts about returning.
Great place really nice decor but also quiet and relaxing. I love the piano. Friendly helpful staff.
The Java Cafe in Chelmsford, MA is a gem! We go there every Friday to enjoy the best live music from Jazz to Pop! The desserts are delicious and the coffee and hot chocolate are the best. A monetary contribution to the musicians is appreciated as they give their best performance for the love of music. Try it and you will fall in love as we did.
Came in tonight to for the music from Jazz First. Great music and the coffee and carrot cake was delicious. They also have a very nice wine list.
This is what a coffee shop should be. Friendly attentive staff with a relaxing, sophisticated and understated atmosphere. Ive had business meetings and just relaxed with a cold brew after a workout. Bring a book or a friend and bask in the unpretentiousness of it all.
Nice atmosphere and great drinks and food. Perfect place to hang out with friends or work.
One of my co workers keeps dragging me here and I just am not a fan...no matter how hard I try.Ive had their quiche, which didnt have onions, thankfully. However, while Im a bacon fan, there was so much that the flavor was overpowering. Their coffees are ok. Same goes for the cookies. Their slices of dessert are very expensive for pretty skimpy pieces. I ordered the chicken cesar salad most recently. It was a fairly small portion with pretty gross cuts of chicken. The lettuce was at least fresh, but it wasnt worth it for the price. This place stays pretty busy and Im not entirely sure why.
Pleasantly surprised by my almond milk chai latte! So challenging to find a good chai while out and about. The bacon quiche was a bit on the salty side, but I look forward to trying other flavors. Glad I found this place.
Totally amazing coffee, even after I let it cool. The best corn chowder Ive ever eaten. The space is quiet and elegantly simple.Im biased regarding the music because Ive played at The Java Room a number of times, and continue to play Saturday (!) jazz brunch regularly, but they do have some wonderful music on weekends. One reason is that the space is open, with good acoustics. Possibly the most important reason is the beautiful Kawai grand piano that they keep in top shape. Those things draw musicians, and good live music deepens the experience for folks who come for food and drink and/or to listen.
Coffee and muffins
Love the quiet on Sunday morning, great service . I tried the decaf, not so good.
Curry salad is very good, ambiance is lovely, selection is very good; young girl at checkout/taking orders this mid-morning was not at all friendly or customer service oriented; she did not identify the orders that were set out mixed up two customers’ orders as a result, and then became irritated with the customers...also, she did not understand what a dry cappuccino is—I received a watery not at all frothy version instead—disappointing overall.
Comfortable coffee shop with some good food options. Delicious lattes both hot and iced.
Good place to sit and enjoy a latte with friends or family.
Great coffee, live music,.yummy food. Love this place.
Love this place. Great coffee with live music...
Hot coffe with a great and strong coffe taste. Big and quite place. I recommend it 👌
Nice spacious coffee shop with ample seating and yummy food and drink!
Our favorite coffee spot in the area. They have often life music on weekends/evenings. Ver decent coffee too. the crowd there is a bit older than in your average coffee place.
Awesome drinks, plenty of good seating, and live jazz!
Great vibe and am excited to check out the live music in the future.
Very tasty coffee, food was alright. Split a piece of chocolate cake, can recommend
Great coffee, atmosphere, food and employees!
The Java Room is the best! Great atmosphere. Great menu. Great music. Awesome people. Good times.
Great place to chill have a cup of coffee
By far best espresso drinks around! Great desserts too. Catch live music evenings and Sunday brunch.
Lovely atmosphere. Great coffee. Friendly service. I could hang out here for hours
Really good coffee and friendly people. The interior could use a little updating, but that is just my opinion. Im there for the lattes!
Nice place to meet friends and enjoy food and conversation. Fridays music is way too loud for size of room. Stars 4 due to loud music.
Cozy place. Had live music when I visited it.will,go there again. Latte was great too
Adorable little spot. Very clean and the staff was friendly. My mocha was delicious.
*Tried again recently, still the same as my review 3 years ago.I would give five stars, but every time I have been in, the staff doesnt even say hello or ask what they can get me. I just get stares as they stand at the register.(Mid-mornings) Great cappuccino, though.
The Java Room seems to be in an unfortunate state of decline, both physically and in customer service.Ive always had a great experience here, but today I stood at the counter for 5 mins before being acknowledged by the staff member who looked at us several times, but couldnt be bothered to simply say Ill be with you in a moment. The tables and chairs were so compacted, it was like trying to navigate a busy nightclub - or maybe more appropriately a rat maze - just to get to my seat. The entire dining room was filthy, including the rugs; the walls are in a terrible state of disrepair. Most of the seats wouldnt even be acceptable to the Salvation Army because theyre so badly worn out. Ill spare you the details of the bathroom, but rust and mildew are present. The coffee was good, but the pastries not so much.It was an extraordinarily disappointing visit and I hope they either get their act together or sell to someone who will care for it properly.
Best coffee around! Indy shop! REALLY good lattes, and their quiche is out of this world.
Good coffee and pastries as well as a range of sandwiches and quiche. Jazz performers made the meal an excellent experience.
Good coffee, friendly staff
A good latte and a banana walnut muffin along with decent internet access makes this the perfect place to pass the time while they fix my car at the garage down the street.
Jazz on Friday nights is tres cool.
Lovely place. Lovely environment. A daily coffee stop for me.
Youre going to pay a bit more for a superior product. As long as thats your thing, youll love it.
Jackie is the best barista! She makes the best custom order drinks and makes you feel so welcome.
Love it here. Great drinks, awesome snacks and a fun place to meet with friends or just read and relax
Had a really nice iced caramel latte from the Java Room after stuffing myself at Bertuccis for lunch. They did a real nice job and mixed the caramel up with the espresso before pouring it in with the milk and ice. The result was sweet but with a real nice kick to it, unlike the usual Dunkin Donuts fare which tends to be inadequately mixed and weak. The establishment itself looks like a piano bar (with piano, yes!), but at the tail end of lunch people werent lingering. Looks like it might be nice in the evening.
Great as always
I enjoy stopping here near the end of a bicycle ride with my friends for delicious food, coffee and conversation.
Java room. Good food and music. Great staff. Music often too loud for size of room.
Nice local coffee shop with a good vibe. I just wish the pastries were better.
Java Room has great coffee and food, only thing that would make it 5 stars would be extended hours in the evening and more electrical outlets
Great place but love love the espresso. But Sunday morning music was way to loud
Best. Latte. On. Earth. Love to shop local and this place is definitely worth supporting.
Had live music on Saturday afternoon. Lots of flavored coffees. Very crowded tho
Possibly the best barista coffee in the area.During the day, there isnt much of a vibe and the seating area isnt too inviting. High ceilings and too many small metal tables too close together doesnt make it cosy or allow for private chat. The stools by the bar are in high demand. There isnt any background music so its a bit monastic. In the evenings, its completely different. Live music, the bar opened and a bit of rearrangement of the furniture and the whole place is lifted. Try it.
Good coffee, good company, good atmosphere and sweet little pint sized door man to open the door.
Good place to enjoy a chat.
The Java Room might as well be my second office. I go there to have a strong cup of coffee, people watch, and break up the work day. Service is always good - Davids my favorite barista and will be missed. The music can be...off...at times (e.g., Christmas tunes out of season), so I recommend bringing headphones for those times when the music doesnt jive with the Java juju. You cant go wrong with drip coffee, but espresso-based drinks are real treats. Try the dirty chai latte - thatll make your day.
Met there for a bookclub meeting. Plenty of seats. Delicious drinks. Next time I qill nng my appetite. Snacks looked great. Then live music. Very relaxing and fun!
