Went in to look for camping chairs. They were the advertised price. Store greeter and other staff were great and helpful. Carpet is need of upgrading, but the store displays and merchandise were well ordered and stocked as expected.

I seldom go to Chattanooga without a trip to Academy. This may have changed today. I waited in line with around 100.00 worth of merchandise for about 20 minutes. There was one cash register open. I had watched numerous employees walk around and you could easily see the line was getting longer. I finally laid my stuff down and walked out. I am a faithful customer, but this is very similar to going to Walmart.

Pretty good place if you are looking to do something outside, I picked up this airsoft gun today for 29.99 and it is amazing. My only issue is that there is no free WiFi. And not to mention, the customer service is great

The man behind the gun counter made us wait for 30 minutes only to tell us to go the front 3 TIMES SEPARATELY. Which costed about 5 minutes each. Then we had to wait ANOTHER 30 MINUTES just to GET paperwork. Not to mention the 30 minutes of waiting AFTER the paperwork and the 30 MINUTES of the background check. WE DROVE AN HOUR TO GET THERE. I dont expect buying guns to be easy but I didnt think it would take OVER TWO HOURS TO DO SO.

Very good sports mall with pretty much anything you need at a decent price. I went to get some disc golfs and the selection was good. They have two different starter sets from innova and dynamic. The dynamic one is more expensive but the driver is a bit better. Can’t really go wrong with any of these.

I had the best customer experience today at the Hamilton Place Academy Sports. Justin the team member in the shoe department went above and beyond to help me find the shoe I was looking for. I was very impressed. He is by far the best sales associate I have encountered in a very long time.

I was shopping for clothing and scouting a new pellet grill. I really like the quality, styling, and price of their BCG clothing and I found a pair of Capri leggings. I also bought a Magellan brand fishing shirt that Im really liking...cool and comfortable with a nice little zipper pocket. We made an impulse buy of 2 Magellan metal travel tumblers that we used for our morning coffee today...they are perfect!We saw a Pit Boss brand grill similar to our current one, but we were looking for the next size larger.

I enjoyed my time and we found just what we needed. But i get to the check out line and the young lady gotten mad because no one in the back would order what i needed in the back. I would think if you have to make an online order it will be done in the front of the store. Maybe she just having a bad day because she called for them to come to the front of the store.

Brian, would not exchange some shoes I bought a day before from the Hixson store. He wanted me to pay 50% less for some new shoes. That is not their policy!!! I took my shoe and left. Brian looked very surprised. He Clearly is not checking all of the shoes because in the back on a rack was a pair of muddy sandals that someone returned and Im pretty sure he was supposed to took them back.

They have everything for sports and outdoors, just as the name says!!Isles and isles for camping stuff, an ENTIRE isle just for grilling seasonings and another for grilling utensils.Academy has attractive and purposeful clothes, guns and ammo galore and to top it off all kinds of small nick-nacks from pens that turn into screw drivers to the plastic things that keep your glasses from falling off and can hang around your neck.Theyve got kayaks and fishing stuff, weights and work out equipment.Literally anything you didnt even know you wanted or needed. Its like Wal-Mart only way classier 😂

CREDIT FRAUD. I made a purchase at the Chattanooga store in mid-May. At the checkout counter they asked if I wanted an Academy Credit card. I clearly stated NO .Three weeks later I get an email from my credit monitoring service stating I opened an account with Academy on May 11. Nothing was charged on the account, but the account was still opened without my permission. The purchase I made in a different part of the store required my SS # on a form, but that form was not a credit application. Using my number to apply for credit without my approval is considered credit fraud, and I plan on investigating my legal options.Never plan on shopping there again.

Its like any other sporting goods store. You have good deals on some things and somethings not. How ever they do have a good selection of boots and shoes for men. Yes even safety shoes and boots. Not so much for woman though on safety shoes poor selection. Would I go here again? Yes

Its a nice store but no one was around to help. I asked a nice young family for help in the fishing department. They were low in stock . We finally did find something to work. The check out person was apologetic. Friday night may not be the best time to shop.

This place is awesome as they do not require you to wear a mask when you enter the store. Masks are for people who are sick. So stay away from anyone wearing a mask. Otherwise you might catch whatever they are sick with.

They have a little but of everything. The shoe selection is large but the options for sneakers are limited, very few size 14 to choose from. They have a really nice boot selection. You can find items for all types of sports. They have a limited gun selection. Plenty of staff working the sales floor. We need more of these back east.

I visited the Hixson store and as always they are out of what Im looking for so I had to drive to the one out at Hamilton Place and they always have what I need but with the cost of gas going up I get irritated having to drive 20 miles out of my way

Went here for black Friday.Was one of the first people in the store (we got in line at 3:45 am) we were waiting for firearms. I have worked retail for a long time and these staff members were so great!!! Everyone was so patient and steady.. we had to wait for a background check so we ended up being in this particular store for a Good 6 hours...for the amount of business they had they were really understaffed.. but made it happen

I love shopping there. I purchased a meat slicer. The selection of grills they have is great. They also have 🏈 jerseys. And of course a lot of accessories for those of us that watch the SEC. ❤ I also purchased items for my Big Easy infrared oil-less grill.

I walked in I was looking for a shoe that I saw online when arriving at the store the website told me that the shoe was in stock. I go in I look for said shoe and I dont find it so I asked for help from a tall young guy and one of his friends was helping him put away shoes. I asked about the shoe that was online and he told me that they do not care that you any longer I said why will the website say that you have said shoe. He proceeded to tell me its not his fault and he does not know what is on the internet. The way he put it was very rude I will not stop here any longer I think the pandemic has made customer service go out of the window. I have been shopping here over 10 years now I will never stop her again way to go academy sports

Not sure why Im seeing 5 star reviews about good customer service. I stoped buying guns and ammo from there years ago JUST so I dont have to deal with the rude old guy in the gun section, and my wife bought a gun from there tonight and was telling me how rude the guy in the gun section is lol wont be going there again.

Went to purchase shoes after having to try to find associate for help was informed that they didnt have correct size in stock which was fine when I asked if any other store had them was informed hixon tn did and for me to Google them and get the number to call. Instead of the associate performing a customer service and doing it himself.

Checked online for what I wanted, website said in stock. Got there they didnt have any and they didnt even have a sticker on the shelf where it was supposed to be. Yes I did check every sticker where the store associate said it was.

Remarkable Prices, Great Service and Staff!

The customers are out of control and management doesnt do anything about it, went there for ammo one day on a whim and saw customers fighting amongst themselves and physically pushing employees. This is not a safe store to go to at the moment. Over heard lots of talk of violence while waiting in line to get a ticket to get ammo.

Horribly mananged and even worse.Went there to buy some shoes and thermoses (barely have under armour). When we got to the register there was 2 People a man and a woman backed up at customer service and more people just sitting in the lobby doing nothing. We went to the man so the lady will have less people over there. He was slinging the lady in front of us stuff like it was nothing and yelling at people to move to the customer service we didn’t move because we were already there and he’d already scanned our stuff. Of course he slings our stuff too and my mom told got on to him about his attitude then asked for a manager to come and help. He says they were in a meeting and couldn’t come so we got our stuff left and we were about to let it go until...... he says the line is open. We tell someone and they get the MANAGER who came in a jiffy we told him and he said he’d do something (probably won’t). Anyways staff is lazy and rude. We won’t be going there again.
