Drove 2.5 hrs from Nashville after being assured by the owner/wife of owner Amy Adam’s they had the lumber I needed in stock. Arrived to find the owner on vacation and no lumber. Not very stonks of them imho. It was a complete disorganized disaster with allot of clutter. Maybe it was good in years ago but not at the current moment, I never write negative reviews. But this lady wasted my weekend with her careless misinformation. Don’t entertain unless you need a small batch or willing to wait for them to outsource the job. The warehouse guy was really helpful though.
Always a great place to get the materials for a wood project. And of course the best of southern hospitalityAnd the best prices. Did I mention the great customer service?
Ive been there twice in the last couple of months. Both times I left with some beautiful mahogany lumber. Great staff and great service. Looking forward to heading back when cherry is in stock.
Exceptional service! Im a first time customer and the gentleman walked me through the whole place and showed me what services they provide. Great prices on lumber and lots of expertise. Its great to know that some of these guys do woodworking so they really know what they are doing. I WILL be back!
I visited Chattanooga Hardwoods this Monday to purchase about 50 bf of three types of kiln dried lumber that I needed asap for a project that had to be completed this week. when I got home and started cutting the wood to process it, I discovered that the 20 bf of Walnut that I purchased wasnt even close to being dry. In fairness, it was an honest mistake. they didnt have any walnut or maple on their racks and went searching all corners of their warehouse to try to accommodate what I needed. They found one large board of Walnut that looked really nice and away I went with that, and some maple and cherry.Anyhow, I called and spoke to a very nice and helpful lady on the phone and explained the situation to her. she told me to bring it back and they would make it right. They didnt have any walnut lumber in stock, but they had a couple of walnut live edge slabs. These slabs would have sold for much more than what I paid for walnut lumber, yet they cut those slabs up into boards to make up what I paid for and then a little. So, they definitely made it right in my eyes. Thank You Chattanooga Hardwoods. The next time I need lumber in a hurry and cant wait for my bulk deliveries, I will definitely come back to see you.
They were so helpful and had exactly what we needed to make our rustic tables come to life.
Better! This time i was able to find what i needed. In past experiences the hardwoods i wanted were so picked over as to be useless. Much improved this trip.
Great place to get special wood.
Huge selection and you can tell the staff is helpful and passionate about what they do.
Awesome people! Very helpful and knowledgeable!
Absolute top-notch service and quality. You will not find better customer service anywhere else around. They walked around the yard with me, showed me pros and cons of each wood, and even gave me tips pertaining to the project I am working out. I am very glad places like this still exist! I will use them for all of my projects from now on.
Trey and Tavish are so helpful and nice, they went above and beyond to help find the right piece of wood for our project. Great customer service, with great prices. I will definitely recommend and return for our next project!
I went in twice, once to get information and once to take a board to get ripped and routered. They jumped right on it and head me out the door in no time.
Great selection of various hardwoods. Great customer service. Im definitely throwing out a big 👍
On second visit, the warehouse guy was very helpful - but wood was still very overpriced and final usable wood (even though I only needed thin strips) ended up being double the pricelist amount. Heading for the sawmills now...
Just bought a live edge slab from Amy....this place is the best. Thanks again!
Just friendly service and low key !
I drove all the way from Knoxville. When I arrived and went in the office the woman greeted me. I told her what I was looking for and this is when it went south. I was looking for spaulted maple and burl wood. She said well its kinda all over the place. She took me to a pile of wood that she said was air drying it was outside in the pouring rain. There were several pallets of wood in the air drying area that were SOAKING WET. She took me Inside to wood that she said was kiln dried. She took me to a broken down pallet of mixed maple species and said there might be some spaulted in here if I lived locally I still wouldnt come back.
Great custom pallets. Plenty of useful scrap wood.
Wow! Just wow! I only bought $5 worth of lumber for a custom canoe seat, but these guys treated me like a $50,000 customer. Great selection of less common woods I couldnt find anywhere else in town (I needed ash). Will be returning for all future projects.
Great people very knowledgeable and they had very rare wood that I needed
Friendly staff and locally family owned
Theyre always helpful and carry some great stuff!
Ive done business with Chattanooga Hardwood for well over a decade. Fast courteous and professional....thank you for going the extra mile!
Great place for hobbyists or professionals to find a wide variety of hardwoods and reclaimed lumber for any project.
It was great. The service was excellent
Great selection, the owner, Amy, was extremely friendly helpful in helping me find what I was looking for and answered all my questions. Will return soon!!
Excellent experience and that Amy is the BOMB Diggity‼️👍😉
Excellent service and great options! So many items to check out. Worth the stop!
Worst customer service Ive experienced in a very long time. Im a luthier, looking for a local supplier for mahogany, spalted and flamed maple, ash, etc, as well as more exotic woods such as rosewood, cocobolo, and zebrawood. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot, the lady (owner, owners wife, manager, someone with a bad attitude?) acted like I was bothering her. I explained I was looking for some mahogany, maple, and the like. Just some smaller pieces to start out with. She said there were free pieces in the back. I explained I was also looking for figured woods so I can have an idea of the quality, amount of stock I can look forward to, and availability, just to have an idea on lead times. She basically snarled her nose at me and said Thats not going to be in the free pile I explained I didnt expect it to be, I just wanted to see what they had, and I didnt mind paying for it, since I was trying to find a local supplier. She told me to go find one of the guys and tell him to cut something for me. I misunderstood, and went in the office, where one of the workers was. He very graciously was showing me pieces based on the kinds of wood I asked. This incensed the lady, and had the worker stop showing me pieces for sale by saying, in a very condescending tone, I told him to go find one of the guys to find him something, I dont know why hes in hereI went to the back, to try to make the best of this already frustrating experience. Pretty much everyone was on lunch, but again there was one worker who was willing to help me. He showed me a few things in the scrap pile, I explained that I was looking for a local supplier, but I could tell he was on lunch, so I didnt want to bother him. I asked if the lady up front always had such a bad attitude and he just kind of smiled. Obviously, this isnt something new.I know theyve been in business for almost 25 years, so maybe they have enough customers that they dont care if they get new ones or not. Or maybe she was just having a really bad day. Regardless, that is not the kind of customer service that should be shown to anyone, especially a potential new client. I wish them continued success, but I for one will not give them another chance.
Free Scrap wood. Great for little projects.
Quality product. Quality service.
Good selection, very helpful!!
Looks like a pallet manufacturing fascility.
There to purchase red oak hardwood!
