Everyone of these fellas deserve a vacation! If you call and dont get an answer, its because theyre busy. They dont do retail sales anymore. Theyre installing tires as fast as they can. I would suggest driving by there and make an appointment. I especially want to give a shout out to Bennie. He could definitely use a raise! Thanks pep boys for the great tires and awesome service
Very friendly! Got me in with my oil change right away and got me out on time! Thank you pep boys! So I will have to say good customer service 👍
Was quick service, especially since it was short notice, and the staff was very friendly.
Horrible place to take your car to get fixed I payed them 2000 dollars to fix my car and they didn’t even fix the problem I don’t recommend anyone taking their car here. Such a big waste of my time and money before I called and took my car here they said they had someone who could fix my transmission torque problem and I paid them 2000 dollars for what wasn’t needed on my car I had paid for parts and they were old parts that was used not new and they kept my car for two weeks it’s still doing the exact same thing. And after I took it back for the second time they kept my car for two more days and it wasn’t fixed. Turns out they couldn’t fix the problem on my car didn’t offer me a refund they just to me to take it to AAMCO TRANSMISSION and they said they could probably give me a discount I’m completely dissatisfied
Thanks for taking care of my car needs Will in Chattanooga and Stephanie in Las Vegas on Tropicana and making it easy where ever Im at. Both made sure I had good price and work was done before I needed the car back. Also Pep Boys has great warrantys
Firstly, I am 8 and a half months pregnant. I went in for a nail in my tire. Wanted a brand new tire, they wouldn’t sell it to me. Had to end up getting a plug put in it. That’s fine.. I guess. It took them over an hour and a half when my car was next in line. Got in my car, my entire car was gone through. Got on the highway and my hood flew up and almost busted my windshield, still confused on why exactly they would even open my hood. To say I am furious is an understatement. I do NOT recommend going here for any of your car problems.
Poor Experience. I had an appointment at 10am, I was 5min early. I’ve sat for an hour already and just asked for the status of my oil change and was told another 20min.Time is money and my time has not been considered nor respected. There is no reason for an oil change to even take an hour to begin with.
Took my vehicle in to fix a problem. Picked it up again the next day with the problem still occurring. The Pep Boys team refused to accept any responsibility and were confrontational when I requested a refund about a week later. My advice to anyone considering going here would be to make sure your problem can be handled by the lowest tier mechanic as anything more complicated will result in you losing your money. To a manager who may want to respond to this, when I asked for a refund in person on 7/21/2021 for the failed service, your team was combative and unprofessional. My car is in worse shape now than before which according to five of your employees is just a coincidence.
Refused service, on a tire…. The guy Benny was nice, the rest of them acted totally frustrated that had nothing to do with us… personally my opinion I would not be using this place again.
Pep-Boys just destroyed my two front Original Alcoa aluminum wheels. I went in to correct the alignment job they got wrong (ruined a brand new set of firestones, should have been a red flag) I figured; while I’m at it ‘why not have my wheels checked for balance’. The truck shook horribly as soon as I got it back. Now my top speed is 60 miles an hour and I feel like I’m in a paint shaker. For those who want to know: the hub-centric wheel was tightened off center onto the front hub ring and the steel ring deformed/pushed into the aluminum wheel. Pep-Boys has been the only ones to remove or install my wheels in the last 2 years. They won’t pay for them, they’re denying responsibility, and they won’t let me see the camera footage. I was told I have to take their word for it that their technician didn’t do anything wrong. If you’ve read this far; I humbly request that you take your business elsewhere.
There must be a better way to transmit receipts between stores to validate services purchased at other stores. My son (out of town in college/Chattanooga) set a 3pm appointment for today as he had a nail in his tire. They were unable to verify his purchase having road hazard and he called me. I called the store that we purchased (Madison TN) the tires for advice. They suggested to simply enter the Madison store number and the order #, but evidently there were unable to accomplish this. The Chattanooga store then asked for it to be emailed so I called Madison and they obliged. In following up with my son to see how it was going he said he was waiting for the manager to return from lunch as he was the only one that had access to them. I am writing this 2 hours after his appointment time began as he is still waiting.Suggestion, keep access to receipts online for those of us who have an online account. I’m not sure many people would keep the 3-5 pages of legal size papers in a car as of a receipt.
We were on holiday in Chattanooga when our tire blew on Easter Sunday. Only Pep Boys were open and the assistant manager, Todd took great care of us. Please give Todd a raise, he deserves it!
I wasnt very impressed. I had to take my car there bc thats where the dealership I bought my car from pays for my oil to be changed every 6 months. I was there over 45 min before my car was ever even moved into the bay. But the biggest problem I had wasnt with my service, it was with the way I saw one of the employees try to charge a guy too much for his tune up. The guy came in and said he had called earlier and got a quote for a tune up at $108. Well the employee pushes a bunch of keys on the computer and then tells the customer that it will be $153 and some change after taxes and fees. My mouth dropped bc I couldnt believe what a big difference that was in the estimated price and the price he was being charged. The customer said I guess I will have to come back another day bc I only brought $108. Then the employee says let me see what I can do. He pushes a few keys and then all of the sudden the price is $108 and some change. I may be wrong but I think that the employee was trying to over charge the customer in order to line his own pockets. Like I said I may be wrong but thats how I took it.
Polite and fast service. Highly recommend.
They done a good job. Fast too. Larry seemed to know what he was talking about.
Quick fix for my tire while I was traveling through, great experience.
I looked on their website to see what time they closed and it said 7 pm so around 4:45 i called the store to check if they could change my brakes and the guy said that they could. I arrived about 10 min after calling and the guy at the counter was probably the rudest person I had ever met and was hands down the worst customer service I have ever had. The customer that was waiting next to me actually made a comment about how the guy was talking to me. The service rep asked if I ever been there before and I said no so as he turned around to get the paperwork to fill out he turned back around and said you know what our mechanics are leaving in about 30 minutes so you can just come back some other time. From looking at the other reviews this is a ongoing problem with customer service and I will never return. If you need your brakes changed go to budget brakes in hixson tn which is where I am now. Its a little further of a drive but the customer service is amazing. Ask for troy.
DO NOT USE THIS PEP BOYS!! I’ve had a bad experience with them before in the past and their poor scheduling with just getting tires but decided to go back for mechanical issues because they’re close by and open on the weekends. I scheduled an appointment for noon on Saturday and they said they where backed up and it’d be a couple of hours before they got to it. They didn’t even look at it until Sunday morning. They called me that morning at 10:30 and said they have everything they need there and it’ll be about an hour and half. I called them at 3:40 that afternoon and they said they were just finishing up. The work was done and the vehicle is working correctly for now, but there won’t be a strike three. I’m not going back there (or probably any other location) again. It took two days to get tires years back and two days to diagnose and change some solenoids that they had in stock, both on scheduled appointments.
Suspected my battery was on its last legs, so I rolled in to get it checked out (without an appointment). From test to pricing to installation and checkout, I don’t think I was there more than 20 minutes. Super friendly, super helpful, didn’t feel pressured or like i’d been “sold” anything. Definitely recommend.
Very nice group of guys. The prices are good, as well as the service. I recommend them.
Great customer service! They patched my tire up in 10-15 minutes too. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Came in 1 hour before closing and after them waiting on two people in line ahead of me I got told they didn’t have time to take me so if you work a normal hour job and try to get things done after work save yourself the time and don’t go here, rude and inconsiderate!!!!!
Great timely service
Todd and the whole staff are the best! I came in on a Sunday morning needing a new tire. I was traveling from Michigan to Florida and got a flat in the middle of the night. The team got me in and out in less than an hour!! I cannot thank them enough for their beyond excellent customer service!!!
I showed up at the nail in my tire, at the last minute. They gave great service and stayed extra for me. Todd was amazing
They are always professional and the best pep boys in middle Tenn that I have visited. Customer service is friendly and always helpful..
Satisfied with service.
This is the only place I trust with routine service on my delivery van. Benny is ALWAYS helpful about the most affordable ways to keep me running smooth !
Great service, fast. Got me in and out quickly, even though it was a tire change.
Staff wasnt helpful, and was very lazy helping me with my problem. I also tried to get a free a/c inspection, only for them to turn my car on and and the right back off to see if my fans were working. (Which driving my car for 2 years without a/c im well aware my fans are working considering they blow hot air) so they were also false advertising because their website offered a lot more on a free inspection
I absolutely love this place 🤩 they were very fast and best price around. Thank you so much 💕
Need a signal lite changed still waiting it’s been an hour n I’m told every time a min it will b done it took over an hour will not go there again I usually go to auto zone in n out in minutes
Good quality service at a fair price. Todd is friendly at the desk.
After having some issues with them over the phone about the pricing I found online and what they were quoting for me over the phone I came in and was tried to be talked out of saving money by using the online pricing. I guess so they can meet their quota. After having my new tires installed which come with a 30k mile warranty. I paid for my tires and noticed on my paper work they had my mileage 5k miles more than what was on the actual odometer. I mentioned this to the manager. Again this was the tire MANAGER. He shrugged his shoulders at me like, so what. I asked him “ won’t that effect my warranty,” leaving my tires with only a 25k mile warranty, instead of a 30. He rolled his eyes at me and grabbed a pen to initial it and change the mileage. Definitely will not be returning to this store. I’m sorry pep boys that I just paid $400 for new tires and want my 30k mike warranty. Not 25k because you made a mistake that was so simple to fix.
I have my tires and oil done here! Best service and quality you can get! I have put 30k miles on my tires and wear is even on all tires. I had an alignment from here and its held out for the full 30k miles. My suburban does not give me any trouble and its a 2000 model. They always make sure that everything is good every time I bring it in for service. Totally professional and I highly recommend them to anyone who does not want to worry about getting shorthanded on thorough service. The money spent is well worth it. Thanks guys!!
Staff was very friendly and checked me in right away. Car took a while to get done, and staff does the typical get you to buy some things for repairs you werent looking to repair. With that being said, they werent overwhelming in that are. I asked them to check my brakes, and they were honest and said I had a few months left before I needed to replace them. They also gave me a heads up about some other future repairs. Overall good experience. Price was comparable to other places around the city.
Great experience. Worked me in.
Its this simple, car needed a serpentine belt, took to Pep Boys was told needs the belt and tensioner pulley, $469 plus tax. Told them to go scratch. Took the car right over to PRECISION TUNE AUTO right down the street, car only needed the belt, pulley was fine $152 out the door.
After getting the runaround by other companies, I came to this Pep Boys and was immediately greeted and explained what was wrong. I had to change my headlight light bulb and it wasnt in correctly. One of the guys immediately said that he would check it out for me. Sure enough it was not screwed in all the way, he fixed it with a smile and not making me feel incompetent at all. I was very impressed. Thank you so much for giving me the light I need to see again at night. You guys rock!!!
The people are Pep Boys are exceptional!! They are thorough communicators and always explain what is going on with my car. Being a woman, I feel that Ive been taken advantage of at other car places, but not here! Bubba and Billy always take care of me. They do excellent work and answer all of my questions. They are fast workers so Im never stuck waiting on my car too long! These are people of great integrity and skill!
There was a small issue with my power steering pump install/replacement but it was taken care of. I’m very impressed with Chris’ (the service manager) attitude and understanding. He exudes what good management should be.All and all, although it didn’t go as I would have liked I can’t fault the service supervision. Thank you guys.
I took advantage of the overnight drop off for an appointment at 7 a.m. I did not receive notice that my car was ready till 10. I documented that I wanted a synthetic oil change along with replacing a stripped drain plug. When I had finally arranged additional transportations 2 to pick up my car I found my car parked illegally in a handicapped spot. My credit card was ran before I had a chance to discover they did not follow written directions on the key drop envelope. Will not be going back to this location.
I had a bit of an emergency (because it was 90° and I had a toddler with me) that was a quick fix. They were super busy but I was helped in a very timely manner, nonetheless. They couldve told me if have to wait behind 5 people so they could turn a screwdriver but, in my opinion, he went above and beyond. I wish I had gotten his name. Gentleman at the service counter yesterday is all I can say.
Wish there was a negative star option. Had them put a trailer hitch on my truck. Website quoted $168 installed. Dropped it off and came back they charged me $319 said they had to drill holes. You would think that they would know that before the website will quote a price. Or at least call and ask if I wanted to pay double. And the worst part is now Im unable to get my spare tire down because hitch is in the way. I will NEVER spend another penny with these rip off artists!!!!Update: I received a response for my review for Chris the Manager if the syore. And have to say I am satisfied with the his willingness to make me satisfied. I was asked to come back to the store and they refunded the additional labor charge. I did have them remove the trailer hitch because it still did not fit my needs. And now have the ability to lower my spare tire. I will be going to a specialty trailer shop to get a new hitch installed as they may have to fabricate it to fit the year mod l of my truck. All in all I would give them 4 stars I do believe they need to more closely monitor their website. To make sure the information is correct.
Every time I come with an appointment made I have to wait a few hours to get seen.. this last time my appointment was for 1p ... When I got there the guy said we cant get to you till 230.. I made this appointment around my doctors appointment.. really hate that place!
These dudes cheerfully pulled off a last-minute road trip rescue. Thirty minutes before they closed I pulled in, mid-road trip, with an intense highway wobble that scared me. Chris had been helpful on the phone ahead of time, warning me that theyd have time to look but probably not time to fix whatever it was. They could have blown me off pre-closing. Instead Lightning grabbed my keys, put my dog in his lap and drove it real quick to verify the problem. They identified it quickly and held my dog so I could see for myself - a belt had separated inside a tire. 20 minutes later I had two new tires on the truck. They didnt push me to do or buy anything at all, which was nice. It was my idea to go ahead and replace the second tire while I was at it. On this road trip Ill be giving my brother and his family this truck. Thanks to Pep Boys Ill make it there safely, and I can give it to them with a sense of security about the tires. Im so thankful for these guys!
Spent time with us. Honest. Another dealer said should immediately get new tires. But Pep Boys employee checked the tires and said new tires not needed yet.
Slowest most insufficient shop Ive ever been to it took them 4hrs to change tires, half that time they walked around eating and on there phones. I can see why there all closing down my son could change tires faster then them with flat bars.
I came in the get a new rim and tire installed on my car, staff was very helpful and kind to me the entire time. However one employee, Billy, took it to an entirely new level. It came time for checkout and my card declined. I was able to pay for 90% of my order but the rest I was SoL on. Billy however jumped the gun on paying the remaining thirty dollars on it. Never have I experienced such kindness from an employee. I truly cannot thank Billy enough for his incredible customer service and kind action. Im sure he doesnt even realize just how much hes actually helped me. Thank you Billy. Youve made my first experience one Ill never forget. Im a Pep Boys customer for life.
Jon and James were great! They answered all of my questions in a timely fashion. They were very respectful and gave me the price up front. Pricing for my rear differential repairs was fair. I was very pleased and would absolutely recommend them to anyone!
Bob the service manager has restored my faith in this place. He was very helpful and made sure that I got a good deal.
Never will I go back!!! Customer lost . You all installed the wrong type of part that is required for my car. The person who waited on me stated that after I brought it back in today . I was told we want you to bring it in later this week so we can run diagnosis so we can we can figure it out but you will need to pay for that You already ran diagnosis and installed a part that wouldnt work with my car . I paid for parts and labor almost 500 . Im now going somewhere else tomorrow to get the correct part for my car installed . Please dont respond back with the blanket response I see now that you send when you get a negative rating . I now realize you get many and it seems you say please send us more info . I think I gave you enough to know why I will never do business with you again
Dishonest and do not Ensue confidence In there work. They tried installing a tire I didn’t need without calling me! Save your time and money, go to NTB!
I have never had issues with this location until today. I was given a quote last week on brakes, made my appointment, showed up, and then the quote somehow doubled because they forgot to recommend additions to the package which cant be done without said additions. Not pleased with whomever dropped the ball on this. I expect accuracy in return for the money Im planning on paying.
I was driving from Miami to Oregon in summer when my A/C started freezing up and no airflow. Stopped by this Pep Boys and they immediately checked my A/C for no charge! Suggested I try changing the low pressure switch which they didnt have in stock. Sent me to a competitor down the road where I changed it out in the parking lot and A/C works great now! Excellent and honest service! Thanks guys!
Nice folks. Long wait.
Got me back on road in 45 minutes and would not charge me for the labor. There were no parts. Just expertise and teamwork. They said that just knowing we were gonna make it to the wedding was payment enough. They even fed us some of their chicken wings. Thanks guys...
A couple weeks ago I was going from Nashville to Athens, GA and my check engine light came on. Pulled the car into Pep Boys on Gunbarrel concerned my car would not make it to Athens. The Service Manager, James, was very helpful. He checked my vehicle and fixed it for a fair price. I trust these guys and will take my car back there any time it needs serviced when in the Chattanooga area. THANKS!
Not good at all, got a battery,. Terminal on the wrong side.
Wanted to charge $635 to change headlight on Dodge Challenger 2015.. said it would take 2.5 hours per side. Used a wrench and removed air filter in parking lot and did both sides in 20 minutes. These people are definitely either A. Unknowledgeable about vehicles or B. Crooks. You choose....
Ive come here multiple times just to get my oil change, but each time Chris has gone above and beyond to provide excellent customer service to me. He also informs me on everything that is going on with my vehicle. Great service!
Competent staff, but I had to wait about fifteen minutes to get my order rang up. Over all I am very satisfied, they gave me a slight discount to make up for the wait which was much appreciated.
Honest, reliable staff. Intelligent and helpful. Highly recommend!
I am a college student who purchased tires from Pep Boys over a year ago. I bought a lower-end tire from them, and was given some hassle about not buying the safest tire. That was fine, as I dont expect a salesperson to be thrilled when someone buys the cheap tires. But just yesterday I made an appointment at 8am to get my brakes done. I my brakes were grinding on one of the rotors, but it had only been grinding for a day or so, and the rotors were brand new as of less than a year ago. I asked about the time it would take to complete the work since I had class that morning and didnt have much time, and James, the service manager kept telling me that I would be out on time as long as nothing else needed to be done. Well, OF COURSE there had to be something else done. He told me that they could not turn the rotors, but that I needed to buy new ones. This puzzled me since I knew the rotor had not been worn down much at all. I nodded to his more experienced opinion, and explained that I was tight for time and tight for money, and he said that he was sorry but thats what I had to do. I told him to just put new brakes on and forget the rotor (I am going out of the country in a few weeks and just need something to get me through until I leave, and Ill just fix it right when Im back and can spend the money). Then was quite visibly upset that I wouldnt go with the work he suggested for the quoted ±$500 price. While they started to just put the brakes on, I called a highly reviewed local competitor and explained my situation. They told me that my situation seemed a bit peculiar and to let them look at it. I told James I would get the work done somewhere else. At this point, the attitude and customer service I experienced would have made me more than glad to spend the $500 at another place if that indeed was my best option. Turns out, my rotors were more than able to be turned, and had new brakes and a rotor turning for less than half of Pep Boys quote. I talked to them about what Pep Boys had said about the thickness of the rotor, and they said that some places set certain thresholds for themselves in order to explain to customers that they cannot turn a rotor below that limit, which forces customers to choose between new rotors and labor work, or a faulty braking system. I will never go to Pep Boys again. I went there for the first time because they had relatively decent tires and prices, but their service and demeanor towards their customers (having experienced the same lackluster service two separate times) will be more than enough reason to take my business elsewhere, whether a competitor has better prices or not. I have not been to another Pep Boys, but I sure hope all are not like this. As I left I saw James speaking with an elderly woman and could only imagine the amount of needed parts and services she must have suddenly needed on her car.
We were headed home to Michigan from Florida, the brakes went out on our van. Here we are stuck in Cleveland, Tennessee. Called Pep Boys for a quote to do the repairs. Had the van towed to Pep boys at the gunbarrel location in Tennessee. Checked in with James at the service desk and explained the situation, the wife and kids are at the hotel, check out time is 11 am. James was very sympathetic to my situation. My van was placed in the Larrys hands and he determined what was needed to do the repairs. James had to get a part from another store and kept on top of the progress, informing me all along the way. Cutting to the chase, the guys at Pep Boys did a wonderful job, got me on the road again before check out time at the hotel. I highly recommend these guys to anyone that cares for #1 customer service and satisfaction.
They just lost a corporate customer! Iwent in with a fleet vehicle along with the paperwork from my last visit. The guy wrote it up in my name, not the fleet name. On top of waiting 1.5 hours for the oil change, I waited over 2.5 hrs for them to get an authorization. All along they keep waiting on other customers. When they finally got the authorization, it was denied because they put the wrong information. This happened twice. Also, they tried to over charge me. The bill for a oil change and tire rotation was over $96. Wow! When I ask them to explain the approx. 40% increase (from the last bill). They said because it was in my name and not the fleet name....so does that mean the average person pays X2 as much? I dont think so.
We were headed to dinner and ran something over about 7pm and our tire started very rapidly losing air. We googled what tire shop was open at that time and saw that Pep boys was still open, so we headed straight to Pep Boys. We arrived at this location 23 min before it closed. By this time our tire was flat as a pancake and it was pouring down rain. We asked if they could assist us in anyway with replacing the tire or plugging the tire. They told us they did not have time..although it was 7:37. He asked the manager, the manager said no. We told them that we may have to leave our car there overnight and they said fine. We had a small portable air compressor that my husband and I attempted to use to fill the tire with air in the pouring rain while the 2 employees stood at the front window with their arms crossed watching us. So, no we do not plan to return to this Pepboys anytime soon.
Just had tires and the headlights done on my wifes car. Best prices around, and extremely friendly customer service. Josh and Nancy were very helpful.
They have been a huge help over the years. Their customer service is top notch. Also an Employee named Chris was fantastic and very patient with us and helped solve a frustrating problem. Would highly recommend them.
Staff was really helpful in getting a new oil change for my Civic. Chris was really helpful and thorough in answering question I had regarding my car. I would recommend them.
Had an appointment and was told 7 people was ahead and didn’t know if they would be able to do my oil change due to closing time. Like why have openings if you can do so many cars at a time.
Called for information about a product. They had it. The employee had it sitting on the counter for me when I arrived. Thats great customer service
They showed all the signs of neglect and disregard. I have more customers I dont care about you attitude. I rip you off and I am located in a busy location. Honestly I spent $7000 with them on my Jeep and dumped for $300 at last. I stuck with them for 4 months repeatedly, they did a partial unfinished job each time. The mechanics are not practiced/skillful. The engine failed after their engine flush. They changed the engine 2 time in 2 weeks and charged the labor. Brakes fumed after break change. Cooler fan failed after they replaced new. Wheel pulled the vehicle to the right after wheel alignment. Sound came from the engine belt after replacing new. Steering fluid leaked after replacing the valve. Rear wheels wobble after changing the shock absorbers. Not a single thing worked repeatedly going to them. All these imperfect works are in their records, if you do not believe me. I can prove it any time. I never go to PEPBOYS any more till I die. I do not recommend any one to go to PEPBOYS anymore.
I didnt want to complain or do anything to evoke the memory of my experience at Pep Boys yesterday but I just noticed the technician scraped my rim all up replacing 1 tire. AlI wanted was a tire and an alignment. The gentleman at the desk was knowledgable and personable, however it seems there is a huge problem with communication amongst the employees and it seems confusion reigns supreme at this location. I was told they would do an alignment check first instead of just doing the alignment I requested, along with the replacement of 1 tire. About 45 minutes later I was told they were done and went to pay. Since they only charged for the tire, I asked So it didnt need an alignment? To which the response was We didnt check. I ask if they could please check it since that was one of the reasons I came. There was so much confusion I dont care to relate all the details: I was told the new tire would go on the back although the bad tire was on the front, that it was Pep Boys policy to have the tire with the most tread put on the rear. I was told the cheap tire i chose did not have a warranty then they charged me an extra $10 for a mandatory warranty. The new tire still ended up on the front. When they cashed me out it was done wrong and I had to sign for a non-existent refund before I even paid... I thought Pep Boys was a reputable place so I just went there without doing research.. They had my tire in stock, and cheap- what could go wrong?? I really hate to complain but seeing my rim all scraped up was the last straw. I will never go here again.
I have had a really good experience with Pep Boys. Matt was really helpful in keeping me in the loop and throughly explaining the issues and potential fixes. I felt informed throughout the process and really appreciated that, since I’ve been blindsided before. Great customer service experience and Bubba was a great mechanic.
Had to pick up a little ATF+4 for a top off this morning... In and out quickly and it happened to be on sale!
Nancy is the Bomb and always treated me with professional customer service she deserves a raise when it comes time to give them
Go see Todd or Bob, they will take care of you. Steer away from some employees as their moods might have direct impact to your wallet. But Todd or Bob will take care of you well.Thank you guys for going the extra mile for me!!~infiniti owner(Break serv on 4/18)
If you value the safety of your family, dont use Pep Boys. I paid for a front end alignment in February 2016, that was never done. Went back twice because my truck was still pulling to the right...once in May, again in June. May: they called a guy up from the shop who stood in front of me and said he did the alignment. June: Billy tells me the truck was on the machine and it was straight, my tires were bad, separating, and about to burst. I just bought new tires July of 2015. Billy convinced me that I paid for bad tires, so I went back to the tire place who said Pep Boys didnt know how to do an alignment. All the while, my right front tire is warped, completely bald on half the tire, slick, and hard to drive. Trusting Pep Boys, I go back to have new tires put on, only to get told afterwards that my front end alignment was way out and thats why my tires went bad (which happened in less than 2000 miles from February to June because they never actually did the front end alignment). He hands me an alignment report and says they took care of it for me. What!?!?!?!?!?! Of all the times I went in for the alignment issue, thats the first time I was given an alignment report. I contacted the manager, James Moses, several times, who pretty much just blew me off. And I still havent heard back from him.For a company to have no concerns about charging for a service that was never performed (until after they put their tires on), and to put a family with children on the road with tires going bad (that was due to their negligence), that says a lot about the integrity of that company. My tires should have lasted at least another year, minimum. Also makes us wonder if theyve even been actually changing our oil and filter all the times we used them. Definitely will not ever choose Pep Boys again! ~posted by Angela Babb
Typically when weve gone here before the service hasnt been anything to write home about. Todays customer service was sorely lacking.Upon purchasing our two items of Gojo and touch up paint, we were directed by the cashier to another service counter for information on specific tire prices. The two men at the counter we were directed to ignored us for 1 to 2 minutes and carried on a conversation while we stood in front of them and then tried to tell us that the paperwork isnt over here guys without even asking us first what we needed. My fiancee patiently explained to them that we were told to come over to them to ask about tire pricings and he had the specific tire specs and the employee that first addressed us interrupted and asked for our car make and model. We offered the tire specs and he claimed he had to put the vehicle in the system before searching or else it may bring up pricing for a truck tire specs. The two men were very sarcastic and dismissive in nature, stating that they did not have the spec tires that we needed and did not offer any other suggestions or recommendations. My fiancee did complete his own review of the visit on the website listed on the receipt and I remarked that I didnt care to return to this Pep Boys.Overall I wouldnt bother mentioning this auto store to a friend or acquaintance let alone reccomend.
Great customer service and explained everything to the point Ill be back
They are so helpful. Came in for rear brakes and told them about park not working and they did everything they could to fix it. Will be coming back again these guys are great.
They got my tire fixed. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Headlights on my vehicle werent working... I called little over an hour before they closed to see if my bulbs needed replacing or rather it was another issue... the person over the phone gave me a vibe as if he didnt want to check to see what was going on with my vechicle.... any who they decided to replace my bulbs for me, charged me an outrageous amount, and on top of that my headlights still do not work! Trust me... I will NOT be going back to them nor refer anyone to them!
The only good thing they did was my test on belt and pulleys. Then after buying parts (Because labor was way to high for a 1 to 2 HOUR JOB 300 DOLLARS!) they charged me the installation price on my parts. Then when I tried to return them the manager was not there when told he would be so, now I have to go back tomorrow for the third time in a row. Hopefully Ill get my money back and Ill go to autozone. These fools will never get my business again.
My crossfire had trouble on my way down to florida and unluckily for me I was stuck in Tennessee with no car and an unbelievably hard to find part. We found a part at a salvage yard about 2 hours away and as I was getting ready to rent a car to retrieve it, or pay for an absurdly expensive Uber ride, one of the specialists offered that his wife was local and might be willing to drive and pick it up. Thank God for this saint of a lady. I graciously paid her for her service and the pep boys team were able to get me out and back on the road all in the same day. Thought I was going to be stuck Im Chattanooga for a couple days... Thanks pep boys you really went out if your way to help me and I am very appreciative.
We broke down on 6/11 in Alabama traveling to Texas and our vehicle was towed to this Pep Boys location in Chattanooga. Fortunately for us, this location was not busy and they were able to get us in immediately. We were in and out and back on the road in two hours. The crew took care of our needs and made sure the car was ready to finish the trip up to Washington, DC. The repair was done correctly and in a timely manner. Thanks Pep Boys!
Dishonest and reckless. Paid for expensive oil change and a repair. Charged me in full. Got cheap oil which can damage my engine type and no repair job. Then when I demanded they finish the job. They instead broke the entire grill. No help. Total lack of concern and decency here. Stay away.
I went to check on my AC, the website says a free check. But still the employees acted as if they have never heard of the offer, after I showed them what I am talking about they accepted to check on the refrigerant. in less than a minute the technician came back and said I need to dig deeper and left without any explanation and suddenly I have a $54 bill. They said the AC compressor is bad because there is power feeding to it and it is not working and asked $1300 to replace it with a new one. I went back home, jumped the system and fed power directly to the compressor, and it worked just fine, I did this more than 15 times, there is nothing wrong with the compressor! I am planning to go back to ask for my money and will not go there again.
They were very helpful after my bad towing experience. These guys didnt seem to want to take advantage and the prices were fair
I stopped by this store for 4 tires and they found a dangerous condition that they were able to correct with a minimum of bother to me and at a fair price. Plus the entire staff was friendly and helpful.I know there are other places close by I could go but theyve burned me before. I think Ill stick with these guys in the future.
Total Rip-off. Took my car here and they charged me over 150 to look at it over a 2 day period and tell me that it was going to cost over 2,500 to fix it. Left took it to get a second opinion and they changed the spark plug and had it back to me the same day. My car has been running great since then!
They have now rid of all their inventory and have strictly gone to service only.
I visited Pep Boys on Gunbarrel Rd to have my truck looked at because of a loud noise coming from front wheel area. I thought maybe it was a tire rod that was causing the noise but the mechanic told me it was a wheel bearing and the total cost would be $1006.00 to repair, ok fine. I picked my truck up and I hear the same noise again so I take it back and the mechanic take another WILD guess and says its in the steering system and itll cost $1200.00. It took everything in me to keep my cool so I take my truck to another auto repair shop and they took a look at my truck and found out that the lug nuts were loose on the passenger side rear tire and thats what was causing the loud noise. I have nothing against the Pep Boys chain but customers beware of the Pep Boys on Gunbarrel Rd because they will charge you large sums of money for work thats not needed. Good luck customers !Update...I was contacted by the store manager at the Gunbarrel Rd store and was offered a $45.00 refund after his investigation and of course I said no so he then passed the situation on to Pep Boys corporate office and they settled the issue in a reasonable amount of time. I must give credit to Pep Boys corporate office for correcting a wrong and doing honest business.
The service was great and the salesperson was honest and helpful. Thanks Georgia, lol you were awesome.....
If I could post a review with no stars I would.I had my breaks worked on les than two months ago at the Honda dealer, the works they completely redid everything and toped off the break fluid I have service tickets to show this. After I got my tax return in I went to Pep Boys to get new ties, best price, but I suppose you get what you pay for. This is the first Ive ever had new ties on a car I owned so I figured the weird feel of handling was normal, that it would break in. Not the case, the next day the break light came on, a little worried at this point. I decided I was going to take it back in on my next day off, again not the case. I got off work that night and had to drive home in the rain with almost zero break power. So now its my only day off for the next 7 days I tried to call the store was spoken to like an idiot on the phone they never tried to help figure out what the problem was just kept giving reasons It could not have been there fault or problem. When I called the customer service line the lady would do nothing but reconnect me the jerks at that store who would do nothing to help the problem.I am having the problems fixed at the dealer and will be getting a statement from them about what caused the problems. I do not recommend this company not even just this store boycott the damn company stay away from pep boys they stay in business my creating problems where there is none so you have to and feel the need to go back to them. And to who ever runs the google page and puts those copy past were sorry posts, just skip it, Ive already given your corporate offices a call and want nothing to do with you.
Everytime Im there, the staff is always friendly and helpful! Good selection and good prices!
The guy was pretty brash, and although busy, seemed distracted even when nothing else was going on. Got the oil changed in my car though... Definitely nowhere near the experience my fiance and I received just a few days prior at the Hixson location.
Very unprofessional place. Someone in the back took calls on a speaker phone multiple times, being heard from customers in the store. Employees were very unprofessional in speaking with each other concerning each others work around customers. They also spoke openly with each other about vehicle conditions where the customer could hear, but not actually addressing the customer. Employees do very little, if not any, progress updates for customers waiting to get their vehicles serviced. Extreme lack of professionalism when speaking with customers seen in their posture, communication and execution of the service. My impression of the workforce here is people who are simply punching a clock to make a paycheck, but care nothing about what they are doing, and the customers for whom they are doing it. I will never visit this place again, nor recommend it to anyone in the Chattanooga area.
I visited less then a month and 550 miles ago. Last visit they put new rotors and brakes on the front as well as flushed the brake system. They checked the back brakes and said that they were ok. They still had some wear left on them. Visited today for two new tires and rear brake pads. They said I needed pads and rotors on the back. It did not need rotors, only pads. They were going to flush the brake system again, which was done less than 550 miles ago. Know what you need to have done if you decide to use this location. They tried to upsell and do unnecessary service on my vehicle. I will be going elsewhere from now on. On my previous visit they gave my car key to another customer after they paid for their service. Customer walked outside and realized it wasnt for his vehicle. He came back inside and told the representative that it wasnt his key. A sloppy mistake that could have been very costly. That mistake should not happen. The other customer had a more expensive vehicle than I did and had no interest in mine. The customer service representative never mentioned anything about it even though I saw it happen.
