I always leave there getting more bang for my buck than anywhere else I shop and you never know what kinds of exotic Gourmet treats youll find.

Employees were great, very helpful. Low prices and always different products, its a fun store to shop at.

Many good deals just be careful and watch for expiration dates. They tend to frozen stuff out and may have a different taste. Ive always purchase their chicken never had a problem until in February when it didnt tasted right. Same thing with eggs one time I saw they had a case full left them outside. Wednesday they have a big sale at noon. This store is somewhat like the dollar tree but better

I love this store. Its a hidden treasure here in Charlotte NC. Many name brands, scratch & dent items, still within expiration date . Excellent deals on meats, cereals, household items for laundry to name a few. Looking for a bargain, this is the Store. Friendly Staff. Thank you 👏😊🙌💓

Great store and prices. I wouldnt recommend to buy anything that needs to be refridgerated that is left outside in their aisles for days. Today 5/12/21 I saw 40 lbs of expire chicken left outside and 8/13/21 i lots of dairy food items out and rotten I bet a few days later they will refrigerate it and sell it.

...have been shopping @ bargain max since 2008!!...love the bargains...still waiting for more salsa😀....meat specials are exceptional (pkg of frozen cube steaks @ $5...smithfield ribs/2 THICK vacuum-sealed slabs @ $10)....this is THE store fir exceptional deals (had duke mayo @ $2 each)...

I shopped at this place before they got the black lady. She is one of the rudest people I’ve ever met. Lisa is some timing. Things are too out of date. Watch dates. Even things in date are stale. Watch the meats. They could be up to 3yrs old. Just be careful. Buyers be wary!!!😱

What discounts retail prices for outdated food

They have a wide variety of things. However I wasnt really impressed by the prices. Some things you could get for a good deal, but make sure you know your prices on certain things as it didnt think most things were at a great discount.

Very good deals on name brand products really cheap watch for expiration dates. They get organic products. Wednesday is their big sale they didnt have anything exciting for me. Just make sure you find the items being refrigerated in the refrigerator they will sometimes leave stuff out. The employees can be in good/bad mood but one of them is really rude the new girl who worked there for a year.

The best place for deals! Not your average grocery, but a great place for good finds. You never know what they will have and they are getting more and more organic and gourmet foods.

I recently purchased what was described to me as chicken parts that was wholesome and no more than 7 months old. When I received the product it was as old as 7 years and could not be used at all. I had to throw it away. When I called and emailed Doug Hipps I got no response at all to this date. I am now in the process of reporting Bargain Max to the USDA. Doug Hipps is anything but a christian for the way he has treated us in this matter

Well the things I was interested in looked too good to be true with the prices, it wasnt until I was about to check out that I noticed a snack with 11/16 on it at the register. Well I decided to check all my food in my cart and well EVERYTHING was expired! Its not safe nor healthy to sell expired food items! Whats wrong with you people!

The prices are great. .if you want out dated food! Bulk meats are are well over priced and its not often you can get great food at great prices as advertised! Ive been trying to do so for over a year!

Buyer beware! Most products are expired, some by years. Pallets of perishable refrigerated items sit out for days, maybe weeks in boxes before being put in coolers. Extremely overpriced for what you get. Should be selling expired goods for fraction of the price but reality is many items are higher priced than brand new in regular stores like Walmart, etc. Would be cautious of what you purchase here and question why its there in the first place (recalled, left out at room temp, damaged, etc)

There are no lights in this place. It’s so dimly lit I struggled to read labels. It’s also dirty, disorganized, and generally gross, so maybe that’s by design. Prices are comparable to Aldi which has clean shelves and real freezers. I left without buying anything.

Disappointing.Most of the small canned items in the aisles were priced the same as youd find in a much cleaner chain store.The produce items had no prices on them, so I had to ask someone, who rattled some prices off the top of her head. These were not bargains either, i.e. per item rather than per pound, so there is little basis for comparison to other stores.The institutional-sized cans of beans and tomatoes in the back had no prices on them--anywhere--not on the cans--not on the shelves. Again, no basis for comparison.The only thing that really stood out was the huge bricks of ground beef in a small freezer. Some shoppers were buying those, probably because they knew they were the only real bargain there.I suspect inner-city residents are being taken advantage of by such places with their folksy ambiance; but it is important to shop around. See what they have at Aldi, Save-a-Lot, a dollar store, or Food Lion if possible before you assume a dark, dirty warehouse will give you the best deal.

This is one of my all time favorite stores! Most of the time the prices are awesome, however; lately they are getting pricy on items that are outdated, but I certainly love the variety.

If you like marked down goods, or about to expire goods this is the place for you! Some things like paper towels and toilet paper alittle pricey..but you should be able to find something worthwhile.

Sketchy neighborhood, no AC in the building, rancid stench, and damaged items at almost regular prices. I was so surprised and almost insulted that I had to ask if the prices marked where the actual prices... I was waiting for them to say something like no, take an additional 50% off all ticketed prices...no such luck.

If you can handle the fact its not pretty, either inside or outside, and just focus on the groceries, heres an sample of what you can get:Namaste Gluten Free Bread Mix, expiration date 10/2015, at $1.99;King Arthur Flour Gluten Free Brownie mix, expiration date 02/21/2015, at $1.99; Orgran Gluten Free Pizza and Pastery Multimix, expiration date 08/10/2014, at $1.50; Jovial Gluten Free Brown Rice Pasta, expiration date 05/06/2017, at $1.50; Maple Grove Farms Gluten Free Pancake and Waffle Mix, expiration date 09/30/2015, at $2.00; Go Tan Satay Kit, expiration date 09/2014, at $1.50; Earths Pride Organics Organic Creamy Peanut Butter, expiration date 06/21/2015 at $4.50; and much more. I dont mind the lack of frills, but I do wish they had a public bathroom. I have also shopped at New Century Oriental Grocery and Food at 4500 North Tryon twice in order to get big bags of Jasmine and Bazmati rice, but it is really rough inside and out and a LOT of the other food is out of date. I dont do out of date food, and so I have to look hard to find what I want there. Bargain Max was no problem at all to find mostly all food within good expiration dates, and but it had most of what any public grocery store has, without focusing on just one culture. I am an ALDI shopper too, but it is hard to find Gluten free at ALDI, so I am definitely going back to Bargain Max!
