I was craving a French press on my way to the airport so decided to stop in . The staff was kind but tried to pass me off a brewed coffee after a substantial wait . After, I over heard them talking about how to make a French press (Red flag). Instead of immediately rectification of my order, the barista continued with other orders while I waited . The wait wasn’t the issue, it was the final product . The French press lacked body and I felt like I was drinking a cup of hot water.For the coffee enthusiast I definitely DO NOT recommend.

Mugs is a great coffee house! The coffee was smooth and rich. What I really love about this coffee shop is that they dont kill you with way to much sugar. My coffee was literally perfect with a real coffee flavor, not dressed up in so much syrup that you cant taste the actual coffee. Definitely a favorite place for a cup and some art.

I discovered a new drink today and it was made perfectly by the nicest staff. Affogato, it was amazing! Plans to go back tomorrow for another fix....I have found my new place and new drink outside of my dark roast @ other locations. I am very particular when it comes to my coffee, from a woman whose husband wakes me with my first cup every mornings.

Coffee? Good. Breakfast? Good. Dog friendly? GREAT!! Even though I take my service dog with me everywhere, it’s still nice to know that she’s actually welcomed by friendly people. Super spacious and I love their hours, very convenient.

Great coffee great staff. The business is people and dog friendly. The wait is never very long and they have plenty of space both in doors and out to sit and relax. An excellent spot for your morning coffee and a nice destination for a weekend morning walk with the family.

Mugs has a fantastic staff and good coffee. I meet with friends and colleagues here regularly to catch up, socialize, and conduct some minor business. Its become one of my favorite spots in Charlotte.The silhouette in each restroom always gives newcomers a bit of a start the first time they use the facilities, which is one of the more fun quirky aspects of this little shop.

This was a cool little coffee shop not too far from where I went for a work meeting. The vibe definitely struck me as a lot of regulars that kind of hang out here all of the time. Everybody seemed kind of at home and were in plenty of conversation so it wasn’t like a super quiet awkward scene when you walk in. The coffee was solid. I would stop in again if I’m in town again.

Absolutely loved this place! The service was great and the coffee was delicious! Always down to support local great spots. WiFi was fast and it’s a great environment to get some work done or meet a friend. I will definitely be coming back.This is a large ice coffee with sugar free salted Carmel and a bit of half and half. ( pricing is incredible compared to Starbucks)

Been coming here for years, good local spot, well priced coffee, Oliver is always a tremendously interesting guy to talk to. All the baristas make great coffee, but Coras the best.

Quick service. Great coffee. Reasonably priced compared to the mermaid chain. Ordered a salted caramel drip w cream (which is pretty much what I get at the other place). If it were closer, I could be a regular customer.

I ordered a medium hot chocolate and it was amazing. It wasnt too hot and it wasnt to cold. 👌🏿🤝😁 The person who took my order and made the medium hot chocolate was nice as well. Would recommend going here if you enjoy hot chocolate. They also have other items as well.

Oliver and his staff are so warm and welcoming! He remembered my beverage of choice after only a few visits and often asks how work is going. They practice a clean/safe environment and correct social distancing practices. They also support local artists and photographers by having their pieces displayed on the walls (that are for sale). Just another great reason to support this local establishment!

Mugs is an amazing place to just sit and get a cup of coffee. I had the fireside latte and it was delicious. It gets a bit crowded in the morning so I reccomend coming in the evening. The staff are all very friendly. Very cool place!

My husband and I came here with our friend this weekend. Place was super busy. We had the pleasure of dealing with Neha! She was spectacular and handles this place like a boss! With the crazy line, she managed to handle our order with accuracy and hold a very pleasant conversation! Even with the busy line, she kept a smile on her face. The coffee and food was great, but she is definitely one of the reasons we will be coming back!

Very comfortable atmosphere, yummy food and excellent service

I stopped by to attend this writers club I discovered online. It wasnt as great of a turn out as I expected--only one other person showed up--but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Anywho, I really liked the atmosphere of the shop. The music was pleasant, the seating was comfortable, and I appreciated that there was a shelf with free books to pick from. Oh, and Crystal (I think thats her name) made me some really good black tea, so thats a major plus. Ill definitely be returning! ☺

Use to frequent Mugs over ten years ago when it first opened for its comfortable atmosphere and quality drinks, stoped in recently while visiting Charlotte and feel it has gotten even better. The coffee at Mugs is delicious.

You wont be disappointed in the menu and service. had a friend come into town and she asked me to take her here again. bring your hunger - portions are filling. food is like a restaurant in louisville i loved.

Neighborhood spot, lots of tables and places to sit to meet. It looks like they have some local artist work displayed which is traditional of a coffee shop. I got a dirty chai with oat milk. I wish I would have gotten a regular coffee. I think that if you like black coffee or if you like to order the daily roast and dress it yourself, then mugs is the place. Would not recommend to any Coffee connoisseurs as you will be mostly disappointed.

This is my favorite local coffee shop. They support local artists and They do weekly events too.. just check their calendar. I’ve been to many coffee shops in NYC, Europe, and Middle East. And by far this is the most comfortable and the only one that makes the best coffee shakes. You can have a delicious coffee with a light snack in such a cozy place! It’s a coffee Heven! The owner is a great guy and the baristas are so friendly. This place make you feel at home! Even their customers are friendly and chatty. I’ve been a regular customer for 5 years. I would definitely visit again when I come to the US. I miss this place and I miss their caramel coffee shake 💕💕💕

Decent place to casually hang out or work on assignments, lots of seating and outlets for chargers. Coffee was good, pastries are okay. Two stars due to the immaturity and PDA of the baristas. One of them had their boyfriend behind the counter making out while my wife and I were only several feet away trying to complete our work. We had to leave due to the awkwardness and how loud they were.

Me and my friends stopped by on a Sunday and the atmosphere is super cute and cozy! The drinks and food are great! The best part of the experience was Neha! Neha was so kind and working so hard as she held down the fort by herself for a bit! Good coffee, good cookies, okay food. Problem is the seating—some relatively rude customers that take up a lot of space. One man took up a whole table for six, which is obviously not the coffee shops fault, but still an issue.

So I drove from one side to the next to get there ☕ so yes its great! But I came and they said they couldnt serve me because the manager said if its not profitable to stay open then they close up shop up early. And I totally get that but I felt like that was a big waste of time for me. So you guys if you try to get coffee around 730pm and they close at 9pm please call ahead.

The experience was great at first until the baristas boyfriends came in. Too much immaturity and PDA for our tastes. Theyre behind the counter making out while my wife and I are trying to complete work not far away. The employees and their boyfriends were way too loud and we finally had to leave after the cursing got worse and the topics were inappropriate. This is our first and last visit because of the baristas.

Good coffee, pleasant staff and good food for a coffee shop. I try to avoid going to Starbucks as much as possible, so I am always on the hunt for a convenient place to get a cup of coffee, work or meet colleagues and potentially get a bite to eat, and this coffee shop checks all of those boxes.I tried this location since it is centrally located between downtown and a number of other areas in Charlotte, so I am able to meet people from other areas of the city here without either of us having to drive too far (I am centrally located just outside of uptown).The coffee is significantly better than what you might find at a Starbucks (though I do go to Starbucks as well when I have to). The staff is always very friendly and they will even take the time to educate you on things you might want to know when purchasing an item. For example, every time I purchase a coffee, they let me know that I can get one complimentary refill included in a purchase. While some coffee shops may do this, most wont proactively let you know since I assume they are trying to keep costs low.For someone who loves coffee, this makes me more apt to purchase a larger size, knowing I will at least get my moneys worth, especially considering the quality and taste of the coffee here is superior to other places Ive tried.I have also ordered food here while working and it is surprisingly good, especially for a coffee shop. They serve fresh croissants with chicken salad in it, which was very well done. The chicken salad was fresh (not frozen) and the croissant was well-made...crispy and flaky with a soft warm center. Whenever I eat at Starbucks (which is extremely rare, mainly only in airports when I have limited time to get food and coffee), they warm up the spinach feta wrap from what was clearly made a while ago and is probably filled with numerous preservatives. Though it tastes okay, it is not something I would crave, while the chicken salad sandwich at Mugs is actually worth going back for.Overall, I would recommend this place to someone who is looking for an alternative to Starbucks with better coffee, better food, good service and a comfortably working or meeting environment.

Mugs is such a fun spot. When I walk in, it feels like stepping onto the set of a cool, early 2000s movie, with its rich warm color scheme, chalkboard menu signs, collection of fun knick knacks, and a constant, eclectic crowd of customers. Its a great shop to sit alone and catch up on some work in the company of strangers or to hang out with a group of friends. The staff is always super friendly and the drink menu is pretty extensive. You can get your favorite hot or cold drink in any flavor and they have a good selection of milk alternatives.

I love this place. I come here everyday with my best dog friend Max! I love that this place is dog friendly. Everyone here is very friendly and its a great space to relax on your own, or join up with a group of people as well. I live only two blocks away so I walk here which really sells it for me!

Mugs is my home, office, and space to unwind. Its usually fairly busy, but never TOO busy to be distracting. The menu and drinks are pretty standard in terms of whats offered, but theyre a notch above what youd get at your local Starbucks, etc. when it comes to quality. Price and service and good across the board.If youre looking for a coffee shop where everyone behind the counter knows your name, or youre simply in need of a place to be productive away from your home and office, Mugs wont let you down.

Funky, cozy little coffee shop! The coffee wss delicious and fair trade - which I look for in all my travels! I believe they use counter culture coffee which is rich and lively. I had a cold brew and my friend got a cappuccino. Both were excellent. Their food offering was decent as well. They have souvenir type things. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable with vouches, chairs and tables. I highly recommend

Great coffee shop! I ordered the Chai iced latte and it was delicious. They offer beer now, too. Tall boys from NoDa brewing for flat $5. Nice open space with plenty of seating! Saw the cutest French bulldog inside so theyre pet friendly, too.

Good coffee with a nice selection of flavored syrups to jazz up your java. They have a selection of lattes and other concoctions as well. I had the most ahhhhhmazing gluten free coconut muffin! Very inviting and comfortable atmosphere.

Mugs owner and staff are incredible! Mugs has excellent coffee and cookies. Great venue and easy to understand and work with. They have a easy to find calendar so you can reserve your space. Im part of a group that meets once a month and Mugs puts out clear and visible signs reserving space for our group. They even stay open later to serve our event that ranges from 50-80 folks who love and buy great coffee. This is the venue to grow your event or group! A+++

Staff was friendly, atmosphere and music chill and perfect for getting some work done, fast WiFi and plenty of outlets. One free refill on the coffee a plus! Also had a little cold water jug. Dog-friendly is awesome, I don’t personally have dogs to bring but I love them so I was happy to see them in there :). As a remote worker I will definitely come back to grab a coffee and work a little!

We stopped by Mugs during our visit to Charlotte. We were so taken by the neat artsy feel, nostalgic music, and laid back vibe. Mike was our barista and was so nice and answered all our questions about the area. He really made us feel welcomed. Last, but not least, the coffee was great-tasted fresh and not too sweet. Highly recommend this place.

My first time at Mugs and it was great. Lots of space for a meeting, not too loud and lots of choices on the menu. Beware when you walk into the bathroom when it is dark though. They have a silhouette of a man painted on the wall that just about made me scream! Gave me a laugh once I realized and I will be more prepared next time.
