I cannot recommend Carlos, Robin and the KC Starnes crew enough. As a car guy, I was distraught when my new car was hit. When asked, do you have a body guy all I could do is look down and whisper, no. I try to spin my own wrenches as often as possible, but body and paint is a next level skill that I dont possess the time or patience to master. KC Starnes came highly (HIGHLY) recommended, so I called, set up an appointment and brought the vehicle in. Carlos worked with me to make sure I got the parts I wanted and Robin made sure to handle all communications about timeline, rentals and pricing.The work was top-notch. The car looks brand new. While they wont be the cheapest, they are competitive and their quality well worth any differences you may find shopping around. I will be bringing them more business in the future. Seriously, I cannot sing their praises loud enough.

I can’t recommend KC Starnes enough! I scraped up my car in the parking garage at work and they had it looking new again quickly and at a very fair price. Then my son broke the plastic piece on my front passenger seat with his backpack so I gave them a call to see who they would recommend I call to repair it. They told me to bring it in and when I did, they fixed in at no charge while I waited. That would have cost hundreds at the dealership! Such a nice group of people and they really do a fantastic job.

Had a 2019 CR-V just two weeks before it got nailed while parked by a kid rushing a three-point turn. Took the vehicle to KC Starnes per the recommendation of the trusted mechanics at Asiaworks. One week later, I get my car returned looking every bit as fabulous as when I first drove it off the lot. Excellent customer service - honest, earnest, and committed to quality in the Queen City.

I am extremely impressed with the level of professionalism the front office staff provided. Robin and Carlos put me at ease and worked extremely well with my insurance company. Communications through the entire process was tops. Besides the great front office staff is the extreme detail the crew does to make repairs as good as new. I am a very detailed person and could not tell that there was ever a non-factory paint applied. Everything fit as good as new. This company is VERY UNETHICAL. I took my car in to get it painted; they gave me a quote for painting. Then they did everything but that. They damaged my car which ran perfectly fine. Each time I called to check on it the price went. They did UNAUTHORIZED WORK to my and gave me the run around as well as excuses: from parts not being in to all we need to do is put it back together among others ridiculous fees.

They repaired my paint problem right away. Its nice to able to use the services of a reputable, long term, locally owned family business.

I just got my car back from KC Starnes and they did an excellent job. My car literally looked brand new on the inside and out. (I had body work done) Almost looked better than when I purchased it. Lol. They’re attention to detail is top notch. I can definitely tell that they take serious pride in their work.Carlos has a very trustworthy character. It’s very hard for me to trust people with my car because I feel like they try to take advantage of women. That’s definitely not the case here. First off these guys are super professional and all around great folks to deal with. I took my van in to have a door panel worked on and they had me back on the road with in a couple hours. Light Rail is across the street if you live or work near the line. They also offered to have a car rental on site with a car when I dropped off if needed.2 days after my drop off I was provided with an update status of my repairs.Picked up the car today and the battery was dead. Staff made sure to get me going and even took Jeep for a test drive to ensure it would not cut off on me.Jeep looks like new paint and repairs look perfect. Car was washed and detailed and looked better than when it was dropped off.Glad I chose Starnes. Hopefully I will not need another body shop, but if I do I will happily choose Starnes again.Updated 1/28/21Ended up having to return to Starnes after hitting a deer. Just like the first time the service, price and work was great.Everything was done on time and the price was reasonable.Starnes will continue to be my body shop of choice in the Charlotte, NC area. Having been in the auto body repair business myself for 22 years, I knew how important choosing the right body shop is in having a good repair experience. My family lives in Maryland but my daughter was staying in Charlotte when a deer hit caused major damage to her car and we needed to find a local shop to handle the repair. I spent the next morning checking into shops online and ended up choosing KC Starnes based on the reviews and the fact that they apparently carefully chose which insurance companies to partner with (beware shops that sell their soul to every insurance repair program out there!!) I was not disappointed. I dealt with both Casey and Carlos during the repair process and spoke with Robin several times as well... everyone was top notch and I always felt they had my best interests in mind. And the car looks fantastic... good paint blends and virtually undetectable repair. I am very happy that we chose KC Starnes Auto Body. Big thanks to everyone there for taking such good care of us!

I recently went to KC Starnes for some fender damage, but had a few other issues as well. The team was very communicative in explaining all of the different options that I had, and thoroughly explained my estimate. They were very efficient in answering questions, and making sure things were set up quickly. I brought my car in for an estimate on a Monday, dropped it off on Wednesday, and picked it up that Friday. The estimate was fairly priced, and lower than others I sought. The work was very well done, and they gave the car a nice wash after. They were also very prepared for COVID-19 social distancing as well.

Everything was super easy and convenient. They even have the option of a rental to pick you up and pick up the rental at their shop once your car is finished. My name is Calvin and I took my bike into KC Starnes Auto Body to be painted. As an avid cyclist I treat my bike like one of my children and the thought of dropping it off into the care of someone else to be painted was a bit overwhelming to say the least. Upon my arrival I was greeted by Casey Starnes the owner and he was able to reassure me that my bike would be in great hands and he would supervise the process personally. Casey educated me on the painting process and alleviated any concerns that I had and being an avid cyclist himself he understood the fine details that we cyclists look for in our bikes. Casey was able to remain in constant contact throughout the entire process as well as sending pictures for my own personal records as he cultivated my masterpiece. Professionalism is there, the work not quite. To make a long story short I recently bought an old school BMW as a fun little weekend car and was planning on fixing it up a bit. I had seen Casey prior to my accident and was planning on using them to fully paint the car, until someone hit my parked car. I took it to Starnes Auto Body with a check from insurance, got their quote, and left the car. A few days later I get a call saying that it was going to be more than the estimate by ~ $900 and insurance was only giving them $300 before they totaled it. So I agreed to pay an extra $500 out of pocket to avoid the car being totaled. I picked up the car and took it home and I didnt fully look it over until I got home, and I noticed that the rear quarter (which is where the damage was) still had little white spots all over it. Thinking it was just buffing compound I inspected it closer and it appeared to be little holes and the white was bondo that was showing through. After further inspection I noticed that the trim piece and the piece of trim around the light were not replaced, and they were on the original quote from the insurance to replace. Casey had told me that it was going to be more expensive than the original quote because they had to do it exactly the way the insurance adjuster wanted it done. So the trim never got replaced despite it being on the original insurance quote, and the paint had white holes all over it and the trunk liner had looked like it was just shoved back into place. So I call Casey and let him know about the issues, and he is quick to tell me to bring it back in and he will fix the problems. I bring it back In and another week goes by, and I go pick the car back up. The trim is replaced, the trunk liner is fixed, but the paint looks like someone had wet sanded and just added a bit more clear coat to it. I took it back to him a third time to re-point out that what I had originally brought it in for had not been fixed. Third time was the charm and after having to deal with some attitude about it, they refunded me part of my money and the car looks ok. *Note paint on the car is currently not perfect, but the area that was supposed to be made to look like new also did not look like new. Last time I use this body shop, will be taking it over to Import Paint and Body as I have used them in the past. I used KC on a referral.

If you want an original Charlottean family collision center KC Starnes is the shop for you. No big cooperate run around here. Honest repairs at a the fairest price you’ll find. They just repaired my wife’s Lexus LX570. This is not the first vehicle they’ve repaired for us. Had to repair the hood, fender and bumpers. White pearl. Excellent job! Color match was spot on! His associates are treated like family. In turn they treat you like family. That’s the difference! Give these guys and gals a shot. They’ll deliver!! Once again..... Thanks KC and family!

I had a minor fender bender but they were good people to work with. They did a quality job on fit and paint finish. They completed the work when they promised and even detailed my truck out .....great customer service!Trust me Im very picky on who works on my truck. Will finitely use them again if I ever need to. Do yourself a favor and avoid the corporate owned shops that have hundreds of shops across the country they dont care about customers or theyre satisfaction.

Great/Polite Service. KCStarnes repaired by side view mirror. I obtained three estimates, one from the dealer, one from a large national body shop and one from KCStarnes. The dealer and national body shop just wanted to replace the side view mirror - very expensive because it has blind spot and lane warning sensors. The only damage was a broken clear lens on the outer edge of the mirror. KCStarnes did the legwork to find just the lens and disassembled the side view mirror and replaced the lens. This saved me hundreds of dollars. I really appreciated this effort and the final product is as good as new.

KC was great - very nice and professional! They were fast and attentive. My car looks great and it was even washed. Colors matched perfectly and they kept me updated throughout the entire process. They used the estimate that was given to me by my insurance company. They took care of any other unforeseen damage as well as the rental car and communicated directly with my insurance company. Absolutely wonderful experience coming in to have a scratch taken care of on my bike. I was told ahead of time based on the initial look that they werent positive it could be completely buffed out, but Zack did an amazing job! You can look as hard as you can where it had been and cant tell that there was anything wrong with the coat. Thank you again for taking such great care of me!

I worked with Carlos. He was great. All staff courteous and professional. The first quote was for the slight damage to look brand new... when I explained that insurance was not handling this and I had tighter budget constraints, the work was re-estimated within my budget. They did a great job for what I needed fixed - which was my choice to not fix every tiny thing, I just wanted bare minimum! I appreciated that they would work with me within my budget. I would recommend based on the fact that they are honest, ethical, and do a great job.

KC Starnes gave me prompt, professional service (bumper repair). They are NOT the lowest price. However the work is top shelf and their paint matching is superb. If you need it fixed right, this shop can do it.

Casey has been taking care of my Mother in Laws Lexus since new in 2008. The car looks new now due to the care from KC Starnes. The staff professionalism from your call, to arranging for an appointment, to returning the keys to you is truly 5 Star. The Quality of their work is factory finish PLUS!! We would not consider taking the car to anyone else for auto body care.

Went in yesterday with a scratch for them to look at, KC came and looked at it and said it was border line between maybe being able to wet sand and buff it out and might need to be painted. He asked if I could come by today and had a painter look at it and they tried a wet sand and buff to see if it would come out. 90% was taken out and is barely noticeable unless you know where to look. Before we started I was told the wet sand and buff estimate and it turned out to be much less expensive. Thank you guys for taking such good care of me, I will tell anyone looking for a fair reasonable, yet excellent job done about you for sure

This was a first time using KC Starnes. I had some damage to the front end of my Lexus. The attention to detail was impeccable. In addition, because my car was still able to drive, they ordered the parts and scheduled the repair. They confirmed the parts were in, I dropped my car off and they were working on it right away. It was complete on they day they estimated and the work was done correctly. You can not even tell there was any damage to my car.

This is a late review, but last year KC Starnes worked really hard to repair my car after someone had hit me. They discussed back and forth with insurance to make sure I recieved quality care, new parts, and did everything in their power to give me the best repairs possible. They updated me constantly and were very kind when I called (probably too often) for updates, not seeming to care much. One of their employees (Carlos was his name, I believe?) was always willing to help. When I needed to pick it up a little earlier than expected, they worked hard and got it out the couple hours early that I needed. Im incredibly thankful for their help and sorry I didnt give a review earlier! My car came out better than it looked when it was bought. Thank you again!

I hardly ever leave reviews but I felt that it was more than warranted given the exceptional service I just received. This afternoon, I reached out to KC Starnes Auto Body to see if I could get a quote to remove a paint scuff that had been transferred to the side of my car.I brought in my vehicle fearing the worst. I assumed Id either need a new front bumper or that I would pay an arm and a leg in labor while they removed the bumper, buffed it out, matched the paint, and then put the bumper back on. However, that was not the case.I was pleasantly greeted by their operations manager, Carlos Lowery who walked out to my car with me. He took one look at the bumper and said hang on, before we get into all of this, let me try one thing. He brought out a bottle of what turned out to be lacquer and lightly scrubbed away at my car. Low and behold, it started coming right off. Now, I had tried a number of solutions to get this paint off ranging from soap and water to goo be gone to the bottom of a sandal (per someones recommendation) and nothing would work.He basically said, do you want to try and see if this just takes everything off? I can just give you the bottle and a rag if you want. I was thrilled and gladly took him up on this offer. All of the paint came right off and I was out of pocket a total of $0. I thanked Carlos incessantly. He told me that he thought the lacquer would fix the situation and he couldnt morally take the car in for work knowing that. He said it realistically wouldve been between a $500 and $600 job if the lacquer didnt work which, for the record, was much lower than previous quotes I received.Now I see why KC Starnes Auto Body is so highly rated on Google reviews. God willing, if I ever need any work done, in the future, Ill be going to KC Starnes Auto Body. Experiences like this earn my trust just by being a decent human being and make life long customers out of people. I am incredibly thankful and appreciative of Carlos and his crew!

Great place to take a damaged car. Professional, very polite, work is done in a timely fashion with good communication. This business is been family owned for I think over 40 years and it shows. Nobody ever wants to be in the position of needing a body shop. We were rear ended and found ourselves on the search for an honest repair shop. I found KC Starnes because of their great google reviews and I was not disappointed! I worked with Carlos and Angie at the front desk, and they both went far above and beyond. Angie was so kind and considerate, being very accommodating of myself and even my little wild child 2 year old. She kept me posted almost daily on the status of my vehicle. Carlos also helped with literally every step, making sure i was issued a rental car that would work for my family. He also dealt with the other insurance company handling my vehicle which was a huge relief as they can be kind of a pain, especially as my vehicle had hidden damage not initially seen by them. My car looked even better leaving their shop than it did before the accident, I think! I highly recommend KC Starnes to anyone in need or repair.

Getting rear ended is not my idea of a good time. But having a professional and friendly resource like Casey at K.C. Starnes Auto Body really made the whole experience easier to bear. Casey totally made good on his promise to restore my car to like new condition. He also took care of all the details like coordinating with my insurance company and arranging for my rental car. This will be a super honest and long review but in the end it was a great overall Experience with KC Starnes. (keep in mind I left for DC the day after my wreck for almost two months, so all of this was with me out of town)I rear ended someone in my 2016 ford F-150 right on south and woodlawn. I quickly looked for a repair shop in the area with great reviews and saw KC Starnes. So after reading all the super positive reviews, I gave them a call and set up a tow and estimate. My truck was not drive-able so once it was there I really didnt want to get it towed somewhere else so I was hoping for a good estimate and experience.I dropped my car off and then waited about 5 days before I heard back or got an estimate. I put some of the blame on this to my insurance company for not putting pressure on them. So once the initial estimate was sent over it was close to $5500 ish and roughly gave me a two week timeline (I believe). Carlos the Operations Manager there (I believe this is his title) was the original person I spoke with. So my thought was to have my Fiancee drive it up to me in two weeks when she was planning to come visit. After a few back and fourths I was able to pull it out of them that It was not going to be ready by then. So I conveyed a little Frustration but understood.Fast forward another 7-10 days and crickets.. not a single update, email, nothing... I literally called a few times emailed and nothing. FINALLY Carlos got a hold of me an apologized for dropping the ball etc that he cant give me a timeline to finish and feel comfortable about it. So after a little more frustration I said OK and reminded him that my rental car is only covered for 30 days. (which I thought would be plenty of time for them to fix my truck).After some more supplemental work had to be done and it being on the frame machine for what seemed like a solid week. They finally gave me a finish date of 5 days past my 30 day rental car coverage, and Carlos agreed to take care of the extra days due to lack of communication throughout the whole process.Fast Forward to pick-up day. After a few calls from the CEO Casey Starnes and some resolutions to the past problems, I was ready to get my truck. Upon arrival all looked well. Casey agreed to pay the difference in my car rental days. (which he venmoed me a few days later no problem). I get the truck back up to DC and notice the bumper isnt put back on properly and there is a decent gap between it and the grill/lights.I emailed Casey and he tells me a time to come in and they adjust the bumper and fix it no problem. ( it is still a little slanted so I will be giving him a buzz to try and tighten it up)Only small problem is I have been hearing this weird squeak/rattle every time I hit a bump that wasnt there before. So I will also be asking him about that.In the end Casey made everything right and was super apologetic for the communication issues and really walked me through any questions and concerns I had post repair and all their repairs are covered as long as I own the vehicle.I will be taking my vehicles here for future repairs if needed based on Casey stepping up to the plate, the workmanship and his customer service post repair.

Great ownership, good work! We have a fleet of 16 cars and have had to take three cars to them for damages over the past 18 months. Two were a total loss, one repaired. Each time Im impressed with the positive attitudes, professionalism and timely work. The communication is good as well. Great place to take a wrecked car for sure. Ill be a customer for life.

Had been a couple places for quotes on some work I needed and no one made me feel as important as KC Starnes! Most places didnt want to help me because I didnt want the most expensive fix at this time, was just looking to keep my car functional and KC Starnes worked to tailor my needs to match my budget. Great family owned company. Glad I finally have an auto body place in Charlotte I can trust.

I recently just had them help me take off a vortex generator on my car. Sounds really simple but knowing me, I would have damaged my paint. They used a heat gun and carefully took off the piece. The shop manager did not charge me since it was a simple job but recommended that I take care of the guys who helped me. The crew did not want to take my tip even though I insisted. I am not trying to promote that the shop will do pro bono work (business is business), but I wanted to shine light on how kind and caring the team is there. After talking to the manager, their goal for every customer is to ensure quality work and satisfaction. They treat their customer cars as if it was their own. Good people with great work. KC Starnes has the best service that you can find! Im new in town and they called me back within 12 hours of me submitting a request for an estimate. So polite and helpful! When I got off work early and described the dent on the rear bumper, they let me come in and took a look at my car that SAME day. Bryan took a look and fixed my car within 20 minutes of me getting to the shop. These guys are my heroes and I highly recommend taking your car here!
