I originally made an order online where I could pick up in the parking lot. There was an error in the system that either cancelled my order or pushed it through the next day. I had my dog with me and the only opportunity I had to go by the store was the originally scheduled time and I didnt want to leave my pup in a hot car. Abbey went above and beyond to accommodate me and make sure that I got everything I needed at the time I needed. It was a pleasant surprise that she took it upon herself to get everything together and Im so appreciative.

Interesting selections. They have a few beer flavors that are not at other grocery chains nearby. They also have good prices and selections in their meat and seafood department. The pizza they make on site is lacking. Looked amazing but the taste was disappointing.

Will never return. Highly recommend re training the one named Frank because he does not know what he is doing. I hope this place gets it together some day but won’t be while he’s there. Management here doesn’t care about you at all and I’m genuinely surprised that people like this get hired. Get management with friendly customer service if you want people to come back. Such a shame.

Best current option for organic and healthy groceries west of the Cooper River. Prices getting better on some items but not inexpensive. Good selection of beer and wines.

Really disappointed. Ordered via Instacart earlier this week. Half the stuff was out of stock and 2 things (watermelon juice and kale chips) were long expired. Will be the one & only time I will be shopping here...

Good products, intimate & comfortable invironment. The best sourdough bread in town, especially the boule loaf with seeds.I wish they would get the unsalted frozen french fries they used to carry - I am forced to go to the competition (Whole Foods) for these.I hope youre listening Earth Fare.

Glad they came back. The store looks better, however some serious management issues still exist. Very under staffed and unorganized.Most of my frustration is towards the prepped food department, bakery, coffee and juice bar areas. I really wish this location could get it right. Sadly, its easy to see that this store will not make it if it continues to run like it does.I posted 2 stars in hopes that someone may notice and try to correct the problems. This could be a great neighborhood store if only there could be consistency in all departments.

Its vexing to see someone give a bad review to this excellent store because they asked the young woman to wear a mask. The store is protecting its employees and its other customers. Shame on this reviewer.This store is fantastic- the employees are wonderful and the offerings are the best Ive seen in a while. Lots of options- not like Whole Foods thats moving into taking away more and more brands and offering their proprietary 365 brand. I can find things at Earth Fare that no other store has (like raw sunflower seeds and of kamut crackers for example) . They also have a MUCH MUCH better wine selection than Whole Foods. Every time we buy wine at Whole Foods it is not great, whereas Earth Fare has incredible wines that i dont find easily elsewhere for fantastic prices. We got a superb cabernet on sale that is one of the best wines weve had in a while. We wont shop any longer at Whole Foods- Earth Fare is now our only go to for groceries.

If you compare organic product prices at publix to earth fare, earth fare is cheaper. Usually cheaper than Whole Foods as well. I love it.

We returned to EARTHFARE a couple weeks ago and it was Sooo much better that we cant wait to go back!! CLEAN.... WELL STOCKED.... KNOWLEDGEABLE EMPLOYEES AND WELCOMING AS WELL!! So Thankful that Andrew whos in charge of Wellness is still in Charge!! I was wondering why they had some Negative Reviews so I went into the Persons Review Profile and it seems they dont like anybody or anything!! Oh my I 🤔think they need some 😊 HAPPY PILLS!!

Earth fare has the best selection of wine weve found in Charleston! Plus its not like going to WF which is like going through the TSA at airports. People at Earth Fare are super friendly. Daniel is a,sweetheart. And ..AND their meat and fish selections are much MUCH better than WF. WF may be more fashionable but please, lets not let them turn into a monopoly! Especially because Earth Fare is so much better.

So great to have Earth Fare (South Windermere) - friendly staff, some nice sale prices, great selection. Especially like the produce section and the butcher shop.BUT (constructive criticism) the bakery needs serious work. On several tries, we bought a baguette, a sour dough loaf, and a challah and all were underdone (partially unbaked) and/or not adequately seasoned (for lack of a better term - bland, tasteless).ALSO avoid the pizza buffet. The stringy cheese they use will make you choke. I mean it.

Horrible customer service. had to wait more than 10 min to be acknowledged at the bakery to slice bread as there were no loaves ready. looks like the employees would rather be joking around and on their cell phones than working. then had to wait another 20 min for chickens that they were bagging up after being told just a few minute wait. the employees are just lazy and incompetent overall. also, they are always out of butter and coconut milk among other things. I tried to ask two employees and a manager if there was any in the back and no one ever came back to let me know! I will take my business to Harris teeter, Publix and Whole Foods from now on. At least at those places you know that employees are polite and willing to help and they are always well stocked and managed properly.

I ordered a white birthday cake with fruits inside and on the top, but I got simple chocolate cake. Really, I don’t know what should I say. Very saddd.

I have liked this Earth Fare location and have been coming here ever since they opened. I like the variety of different options they have available for groceries and at their cafe. The store is well organized and I can easily find exactly what I am looking for. The staff here is very helpful and provides really good assistance. Overall this is one of my favorite grocery stores in Charleston.

Harassment about not wearing a mask. had Mask Ordinance in my hand which listed Exemptions. there is no law supporting wearing a mask and being asked to wear one is a violation of rights. Why are businesses allowed to violate consumers and peoples rights I dont get it. And why does the Ordinance even list Exemptions if public businesses can abuse and violate those exemptions rights!

Andy was rude and unfriendly during checkout, needs more training on how to separate cold and hot items. I have never had an issue with any other checkout person at this location

I have found Earth Fare to be exceptional. The prices are reasonable for an organic store, the specials are timely, the staff are very courteous and professional, and the location is within walking distance. Good job done by all!

Love this store, shop there often, and the remodel is fantastic. But, on the last visit the person bagging our groceries put two pints of ice cream right on top of a hot cooked chicken, then two containers of lettuce on top. We had no idea it was all in there together and let’s just say we were disappointed. Ice cream in the summertime in Charleston melts incredibly fast, and this should be so basic.

Great food - staff is unavailable, cold, and non responsive. Seriously a lovely store, but when I went in a 8:30 a.m. last Wednesday, I was left so unimpressed by poor service. Lots of workers standing around and chatting, but zero help available at deli or bakery. When I finally corralled a deli worker and requested a salad to go, there was no verbal response. Worker filled the order, handed it to me, did not ask if i wanted anything else, did not say here you are, DID NOT SAY ANYTHING. Gaggle of workers in bakery did not stop talking when I arrived, did not greet me or ask if I needed help, so after three THREE! minutes I walked away. Checkout line was crowded with nine people waiting and only one cashier. When I got to the cashier, he seemed so unhappy to be working. Earthfare is the least happiest place to shop in all of Charleston

I found this store to be a great place to pick up quality prepared food for a picnic. They had a very nice selection of fruits prepared to go. There were other prepared foods in containers and then there were containers to serve my own plate from the hot bar. Of course, there was an ample selection of desserts. The food was all delicious. I picked up my plastic wear and a drink and was ready for my picnic.

Felt kinda bad that no one had reviewed the joint since 06! i think earth fare makes grocery shopping fun. i love how fresh it feels inside, there are always samples and friendly faces (especially one of the girls behind the cheese counter, so helpful and willing to give you samples of anything) and the deli has lots of yummy options for a quick lunch or dinner-to-go. well worth a visit!

The soups are the best .. but get a couple slices of their Pesto pizza often.. thin crust.. they are so much easier to shop than WF.. Been with Earth Fare twenty years ... started in Asheville.

Love the store but some of the employees look like they are on drugs and are not friendly or helpful. Plus the counter people are so slow. Sad it makes me rather drive farther to whole foods.

Very good selection of quality healthy ingredients from vegies to meats to cheeses! Staff is great and there is a nice area to eat and relax! Always something new to taste and learn about, staff is generally more helpful than whole foods which is also a big plus! Also have a very good wine selection!

Health focused grocery store with smoothie bar. Came across this after a HYLO class and came to get some smoothies. I had a strawberry one with spirulina and the small was less than $6 (there’s also a large size available for around $6).There’s also pretty good options for hot food and other groceries. Coming from LA the prices are cheap for the healthy items available. There was even $2 kombucha (it was on sale)! The vegan chocolate chip cookie was also a lot better than I was expecting. It was chewy and there were plenty of cacao chips interspersed. It was only $1.99 for one the size of my palm. The service was really slow but the cashier was friendly. There’s a store card you could get for discounts. There was plenty of parking in the parking lot and there were some chairs where you could sit as well if you got actual food.

Pretty consistent with the Earthfare and Whole Foods chains for overall product variety and customer service. If youre looking for a fast and easy dinner, definitely recommend the deli counter meals. A meat and two sides for under $10 and its a good sized serving, plus you can get salmon for a bit more. A good local staple if youre looking for a good variety of wines and beers as well.

I like the store fine .. but this review is on the cafe .. the hot bar was HORRIBLE! suppose to be a health store and the food was over salted, the mixed veggies were overcooked, chicken egg roll was no flavor and chewy. Had to hunt down where the to go boxes and no one working register to pay, had to hunt someone down at 12:30 in the afternoon. The salad bar was good though

Earth Fare is a nice little market for natural/organic food. Been going there for about a decade since moving to Charleston. More convenient that our local Whole Foods, but still about as pricey. Nice selection of wine, beer, and cheese, and good produce.

Go see Johnny in the meat department. He provides awesome customer service, takes care of you, and treats you as if hes known you his whole life! Great group of employees there.

My wife suggested we go there and get food from the kitchen after a friend of hers told her they had nice food. There was plenty of space to sit, the selection of food was ok, but the cost was nuts. It was very expensive. I had two small children, my wife, and myself and we paid almost $60.00 for our food. You pay by weight, but I dont recall how much per pound.The mac and cheese was amazing, and while this may seem silly it is the only reason I gave them 3 stars vs 2. The pulled pork wasnt very good and the chicken my son got he didnt like as well.My wife got a salad that she enjoyed.

I love coming to Earthfare for the healthy food but also the great staff. Christopher and Kelvin always assure my favorite things are in stock and then Garret cheerfully checks me out. Great service and experience in this store!

I was very disappointed during my last few visits. There appears to be an overall lack of training on how to treat customers. A thank you is rare now. Hopefully this is temporary as I have had better service at this location before.

I have appreciated that Earth Fare gives a modest discount to seniors and the military, but very disappointed they have chosen to limit seniors discounts to shopping only on Monday. Are they trying to do away w this discount by limiting its accessibility and what about those who make arrangements for transportation? They cant shop anytime, except on a Monday. Its a simple keystroke at check in. I suspect its likely profit motivated.

I love Earth Fare! I’ve recently been placed on a special diet due to health conditions and they have everything I need and reasonable!!!

I love shopping at Earth Fare. But they recently changed and now the senior discount is only available on Mondays. That a bummer because the produce is less fresh on Mondays. Bring back the senior discount for the full seven days.

I made the mistake of eating at the buffet today around 3:00 PM. I had baked turkey with salad (raw spinach). I felt perfectly fine before eating. I have an iron stomach and really never have problems. If i do have a problem then i know when and where it happened. I have been tingly skin and feeling terrible starting right after i ate. I might have come from the dirty silverware and plates. I will never eat here again!

Great location close to the highway and not far from the interstate access. Also it is located close to various types of stores and businesses.

I used to love this place, but lately have been disappointed with the seafood freshness, and the ribeyes have hard fat in them. There beef comes from Australia. Dont get why they wouldnt get it from the USA. The reason I am writing this is that I tried for 30 min trying to get in touch with the deli to order a pizza and no one would answer and there were hours to go till they were closed. I kept calling hoping someone would answer and they didnt. So I guess they dont want my business. While in the store, they have a lot of different employees that I dont feel like are the fit for the job. They dont know how to package the food or communicate. Its a bad time to drop the ball since Whole Foods just opened in west Ashley.

I go every 3 months to try it again. rubbish. They like to think of themselves as all organic, but they are small grocery with some organic items. Today I splurged on a salad on sale $6.99 for 8oz with .3 cup of dressing/ ALL non-organic. 4 Lobster tails (6oz) for $5 each and 4 filet mignon (8oz.) $5 each also// Each steak was dark brown on the bottom and very fatty/ Will try to return tomorrow.

Love the store. However the hot food section is a disgrace. I complained months ago about the upholstery in the dining area. Thats improved. I complained, and stopped patronizing, about the plates & trays being scarred and water spotted. That has not improved.On my first try for breakfast in a long time... the eggs were cold, the grits & the ham were ok. The biscuit was in the system wrong and I was overcharged by 50 cents. The worker at the breakfast bar was busy and I was directed to pay at the front register.Not likely to try again.

I really want to like this store, its very convenient to where I live. However once the new Whole Foods opens up in West Ashley - Earthfare had better improve - AND FAST, or many of their customers (including me) will shop eleswhere. Ive been shopping here for years, and this is a decent store - with lots of healthy choices. If you shop the sales, the prices here often beat competing health food store prices. Overall, the prices are high on non-sale items. Earthfare has a good variety of bulk items, including spices which is awesome.With all that being said, there is a serious customer service problem here. I have noticed a very high turnover in employees, you see new faces with each visit it seems. Employees (especially in Deli/Salad Bar/ sandwich/ bakery) are often very grouchy and downright unhelpful. Management is invisible, or maybe completely absent altogether. I have never seen anyone who resembles a manager in this store, which is the complete opposite of a traditional grocery store - where you see the managers picture on the wall when you walk it, and you see the manager in the store ensuring smooth operations.

Great food, clean environment, delicious food and desert. I love every thing in this place. My favorite desert is tiramisu.

I agree with all previous comments regarding subpar customer service. My encounter was saying Hello to cashier who abruptly responded with is that all you need?, followed by rolling of the eyes and shoving the receipt at me. No other conversation between us occurred. But there was definitely chitter chatter between staff.May seem minuscule, but that coldness convinced me to never shop there again. And I look forward to shopping at Whole Foods.

I shop at Earth fare in Greensboro all the time and get great customer service. I came down to Charleston for work for two days and I went to Earth fare three different times. The first time was around 6 PM and I was trying to get a sandwich made. The lady told me the sandwich girl went on break for 30 minutes and she doesn’t know how to make sandwiches. She asked another lady behind the meat counter and she said she didn’t know how to make one either.They to 7:30 AM I order a smoothie. The lady looks at me like I’m bothering her and tells me the fruit is too frozenI come back at 7:45 PM ask for a smoothie and the lady said we’ve already put it through the dishwasher and our fruit is too frozen.I decided to grab a coffee from my road trip back and they were out of Stevia, I asked the same lady do you have any Stevia and she said no we don’t have anymore sorryYou’re in a grocery store that sells Stevia how can you be out?It’s like you’re bothering them and they don’t want to wait on you. 3 times in 2 days. You guys really need to get your act together down here. It’s embarrassing

Saw a large RAT the other day scampering around the bulk food section. Awful. All foods should be tossed and replaced. Told a checker and she shrugged, did nothing. One rodent means more rodents. Cleanliness and customer services standards are declining at this store. Whats up? Wont shop there until it gets much better.

If you are looking for a grocery store that doesnt carry half the items on your grocery list, this is the place! The West Ashley, SC store is always out of things. Last time I went they didnt have zucchini, sweet potatoes, or green cabbage, I got the 2nd to last kale in stock. I couldnt remember why I always debate with myself about whether to go to whole foods since its much further, next time I will remember. My vitamins here are $69 for the garden of life kind organics that I can get online for $20 less.. Since I have to go to Whole foods to get the items that Earthfare didnt have, from now on I will save myself the extra trip and go directly to Whole foods.

Geez I want to like this store but every time I try to check out it takes for ever. Occasionaly being friendly is nice ( because they are not always friendly)but unnecessary chatter is redicoulous. We finished at checkout and the cashier shoved the receipt towards my husband, conversing with the next customer before we even were out of the way. Glad whole foods is opening, it’s closer to us anyway, and service is always better there.

Nice selection of healthy foods, HORRIBLE customer service. I waited 7 minutes at customer service and never did get a manager. Three different employees said not my section when I tried to find soy to go with my sushi. And one of then was working IN the deli selling sushi. But its not his job. The prices are higher than the organics and vegetarian sections at both Harris Teeter and Publix yet both other stores have far superior customer service plus they have easier parking. Why would I come here??? I wont be back.

I have shopped here for several years. The past two Fridays I had lunch from the deli and ended up with stomach pains and indigestion. I am a healthy fit individual and eat healthy always. I have noticed during these 2 visits and other visits that the condition of the store is going down. Paint is peeling from the walls, dirty unwaxed floors, and dust accumulating on visible surfaces. There is a lack of employees in the deli area and an overall high turnover rate with employees. We LOVE Earth Fare and are sad the store is in such bad shape.Whole Foods is being built nearby. Better step up your game at South Windemere Center!

I stopped by Earth Fare this morning on my way to work to order a smoothie. The employee who ended up making my order didnt wash her hands before doing so, even though shed been wiping down tables and had moved a trash can. Ive worked in the food service industry and know that whenever youre handling food - even the utensils that touch food - you have to do so with clean hands. Not surprised to read recent comments that people have gotten food poisoning here. The lack of customer service was also surprising: no eye contact, my order was made incorrectly, and the employee working on it kept walking off to talk with her co-worker, only coming back when she saw her manager approach me. Knowing one of my friends used to work at Earth Fare, I told her about my experience. She said part of the reason she quit was because of their lack of respect for food safety procedures and their endless issues with rats. I will never go back to this Earth Fare location.

So upset--- Earth Fare NO LONGER carries Lump Hard Wood for the Smoker! They ONLY carry KINGSFORD! The same chemical crap you can get ANYWHERE!They also do not carry natural igniters, ONLY LIGHTER FLUID!WAY TO GO EARTH FARE, might be enough for us to switch to whole foods!**Also, when should a cashier break out a calculator to give back change? ??

No thank you...to a dirty, disorganized store with poor customer service...REPEATEDLY!Apparently, asking Ebbony (deli) to move 3 feet closer to me, so I didnt have to yell my order to her was too much effort on her part. (After all...It was a whole 3 feet!) She, repeatedly, challenged me by mumblumg under breath and staying put, when I asked her, TWICE, to move in front of me, so I didnt have to yell my order and so I could hear her, as Im hearing impaired. The were zero other people behind the counter and zero other customers when I walked to the deli area. No reason for her not to move closer to accommodate the customer. I simply asked her to move from the center of the deli counter to the end where I was standing and where the items I wanted were located. Not interested in my time being wasted being challenged by the Earthfare employee.Clearly, Earthfare at Folly Road isnt sensitive to requests to accommodate a hearing impairment. This was the second time a lazy employee refused to get off her duff and move closer to me, so I could comfortably ask my questions and hear the answers.The Manager on Duty, Jason?,...Id asked to speak with him, since Ebbony couldnt be less respectful or less interested in helping me. Funny thing is when he stood next to me and asked Ebbony, who still refused to move closer to us, if the deli had in stock what I wanted, HE couldnt even hear what she was saying! Thats EXACTLY why Id asked her to move closer to me! The acoustics make it difficult to hear across the counter. Point proven.When I repeated the experience to the Manager that Id just had with his employee, his response was void of apology or concern about the poor disposition of his employee. No problem, Mr. Manager. Its clear the apple doesnt fall far from the tree. The trickle down effect at its finest.Never will I spend my valuable time nor money on the Folly Road Earthfare again. Two times of lazy, disrespectful employees and a non-chalant manager is two times too many for me.Ill stick with my always pleasant experiences at Trader Joes and Whole Foods, where I ALWAYS experience friendly, professional service and squeaky clean stores, NEVER with a hint of hesitation to go above and beyond. Thank goodess for companies who recognize customer service is paramount and treating customer respectfully is the ONLY option, no excuses.Shame on Folly Road Earthfare.
