Ive been a Verizon customer even before it was Verizon and I have always been impressed with the product, the service and the knowledgeable sales staff including Spencer at the Folley Road store in Charleston. He helped my wife and I, took his time to make sure we understood everything and was more than helpful. We urge anyone who needs quality service, not just a salesperson to go see Spencer.
Spencer was a great help along with his trainee. I got the phone I wanted and the price I was comfortable with. Just really disappointed with the lack of accessories in the store. They had my phone but not a case for it, yet they still were selling cases to a phone they didnt have anymore. Makes zero sense. But besides that, my experience was wonderful.
I traded in my S10 for the new S21 ultra. The experience was awesome. The service was great and she explained everything I asked about. Im glad I went there.

Amazing customer service! My family is visiting for summer vacation and my teenager’s phone stopped working so we stopped in to upgrade his phone. Spencer was amazing to deal with - friendly, efficient, quick, funny, and made the whole experience painless. We always dread going in to do a phone upgrade and compare the experience to buying a car but this was actually a very pleasant experience. Additionally, Spencer was able to fix some things in my account that several other sales associates had told me that I needed to call Verizon to fix. He gave us his cell phone number in case we had any issues. We joked that we will fly to SC the next time we have to do an upgrade. :)

Went in to look at the possibility of upgrading my iPhone 7. Walked out with a 12 and a new iPad!! Great deals for long time customers.But the service was above and beyond expectations!! Our salesperson A Frazier and 2 other associates we interacted with were fabulous!! Our wait time was 3 minutes and the service well worth a much longer wait. His knowledge was excellent and I would not hesitate to refer anyone him, his associates and that Verizon location!!

Yesterday July 6, 2021, I bought a new iPhone 12 pro at the James Island Verizon store on 861 Folly Rd. My sales person was Mark Gillespie and Jerryd Burton. Oh the service was top notch and both gentlemen were at the top of their game with knowledge as well as technology abilities.They explained everything clearly and gave me advice on my best deal with my new phone.
This store is closer to my house than other stores and the last visit I made was productive - a young woman answered my questions about purchasing an Apple Watch. Last week I purchased and received the watch and went into this store to add it to my existing data plan. I sat down with a young man, the only one not busy, and long story short, he was dismissive and (worse) totally uninformed on the procedure. After scrutinizing my plan - a lengthy process - he announced I couldn’t add the watch because my current plan wasn’t “compatible” and I’ve have to pay to update. (Remember, this is the short version: I went through several confusing exchanges with him that showed extreme lack of 1) knowledge about his job and 2) customer service skills.) I drove over to W. Ashley’s Verizon Store where an agent sat with me and set up my watch on my current - very compatible - plan. It took less than 30minutes and she was efficient, communicative, and professional.
Expect unexpected charges, especially if you are replacing or buying a new phone here. My bill was $90 a month, reasonable. After purchasing an upgraded phone my next bill was $163 ($36 a month was the new phone charge) and the following month $223. They tell you you have to sign up for auto withdrawal so If there is an error it is on you to get your money back. The customer service on the website does not exist, no one will answer, I still havent received a call back(10 hours ago) and the chat is a computer automated system. Good luck, and take a day off work if you have an issue. I went to the store to resolve the issue and they couldnt explain the charges and told me to or they could try customer service. Obviously I didnt want to sit in that store for three days on hold. The trade in for you old phone only applies a certain amount each month so there wasnt a contract but I would only get credit for my old phone if I stayed with them for the 30 month payoff period. Check you receipt (no credit will be on there, that was my first sign something was wrong) and tell them you want the credit now not spread over 30 months any they will tell you they cant do that. Im still trying to get an explanation of charges. I paid the phone off in full due to their accounting errors so I could change providers but lost the $300 trade in value. If you purchase a new phone and realize your being taken there is a 60 lock on your simm card so you cant switch companies unless you want a new phone number or buy a phone from the new provider. Verizon is becoming the Comcast of cell service providers. No bueno!
Verizon is well-known, but cost of plans are expensive. If you buy a phone it is normally added to your plan, which extends your participation through cost recovery for your phone. If you buy your phone elsewhere (I did) you can reasonably get a better price. Any request for service on your phone (upgrades, data recoveries etc) you are often charged a fee. Although I have only a cell now ( no hard line st home), the cost in this industry is out of control.
Was unable to keep my current number. Was not able to pay cash for the new phone. They only gave me an option for one plan. A more expensive 5 G plan that doesnt apply to my phone. Now Im paying more for a service I cant use.

I have been a Verizon customer since 1993 and using the Folly store for eight years. I have six lines on my account, with four teenagers in constant need. Ive never brought a problem to this store that wasnt fixed immediately. Rarely do you wait and they just solve problems, every time.

Didnt give 5 stars because I bought a new cord for a iPhone that was giving issue charging. When I paid I was handed just the cord NO packaging. I ended up upgrading the same day to Samsung. I was unable to return the cord because of no packaging. So Im out $30. The guy new I may be upgrading. Now the rep that did my upgrade was awesome!
I prepared myself for hours at the Verizon store today. (I was past due for a new phone.) I walked in and was immediately greeted by a smiling Spenser.... and 30 minutes later I was on my way with my new phone, everything transferred from my old phone to my new phone AND working perfect. Easy Peasy. Big relief. Thank you Spenser for your professionalism, good humor and speedy service. Your the real deal! He was also very kind to my little dog! The whole store was so kind to her! This is a friendly store where the staff understands that then transfer from one phone (an old friend in a way) to another is a dreaded event for so many of us. I’ll never dread it again.

Went in after my phone drowned in a swimming pool. Frazier had me up and running on a new unit in only 45 minutes! He is a life saver!
I went to this location to get a screen protector case and ended up getting a popsocket as well for my s21 everything was going well. Great customer service etc, I paid $90 for the three items. Walked out when I believe Sam comes to my car and says I didnt actually pay. I tell him I did ( I gave him cash) he asks me to park because he doesnt have the $90 and doesnt remember me giving him the $90 when I know for a fact I put the cash in his hands when he rang up the items and said thatll be $90 even. So I park for at least 10/15minsties and Im watching him from my car scrambling to look for it. He then asks me to come inside waited another 5/10 minutes. At this point I leave the items highly frustrated and irritated that he lost my money. I didnt want to make a big fuss about it so I walked out. He did nothing to rectify the situation.
I had a wonderful experience at this location with Casey Harris. She made the whole transaction enjoyable and communicated clearly and efficiently. I will definitely be using this Verizon location again.

I just moved here from out of state and I live on James Island so I came to this location. I’ve been to a lot of Verizon’s but this one was a different experience. I was quickly greeted by Erika and she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful about every phone I was interested in and she did not make me feel pressured at all into buying anything I didn’t want. Which is a change of pace from other locations I have been to. She cares more about the customer than the sale and that’s rare. I will not be going to any other locations after this experience.
Terrible customer service experience. I guess if you aren’t buying a new phone or upgrading you might as well stay home. Verizon’s reception in our area is non- existent and when we consulted one of the sales reps he suggested we restart our phones. When that didn’t work he told us to call Verizon customer service and wouldn’t do it on our behalf because, essentially, time is money for him. Well done, sir! Unhelpful and patronizing. While on vacation I lost my phone in a nervous Panic at I took a Cab at 7 p.m. to this Verizon location. I was extremely anxious and worked up over losing my phone because It had my GPS all my ticket information and everything I needed on it. Erica Constantine was amazing she was able to get me a new phone within 30 minutes, she had everything synced for me and recommended accessories that I needed as well. I can go back to enjoying my vacation thanks to Erica!

When you think of customer service at a cell phone store, you typically would think its terrible- this store is NOT the case. They go ABOVE and beyond for their customers! I worked with Spencer back in August for a new phone, which ended up being a dud (not his fault!) but then called him about replacements and he talked me through the process with the verizon customer care center. He was incredibly encouraging and once the new phone arrived even re-attached the SIM card and added my new screen protector. I will continue to do any cell phone purchasing or accessory purchasing through this store simply because of his excellent service. Thank you Spencer for going above and beyond!

I have been to many Verizon locations over the year and consistently come back to this location specifically for Spencer and Mark G. I am never in a good mood and want to be dealing with phone issues but these two gentlemen and their team making an enjoyable experience and provide the best solutions for issues and always go out of their way to support me and further my knowledge in my phone.

Be careful at this Verizon! The sales person convinced me that there would not be an activation fee for my sons new Gizmo, stating that the Gizmo was different from a cell phone. When I called asking why there was an activation fee of $40 dollars when I was promised there would not be, they said call the 1-800 number and good luck. The manager had the same response...he sided with the sales person and insisted that I must have misunderstood and my only option was to go through corporate. I have been an ATT customer for years and now I know why! Unfortunately, the Gizmo required me to use Verizon and I am very disappointed with their customer service.

I had a great experience getting a phone yesterday and it didn’t take too long. My phone was having issues with not calling when I would try to call and volume issues. It was determined that it was time to not have that frustrating problem since it was becoming more and more frequent. Darryl was the Verizon Associate that assisted me. It was a pleasant experience to have someone that could explain things in a way I could process since I am not a tech person. Darryl was extremely helpful and kind. I went in two purchase two iPhone Xs, and Tom Tran was super helpful! I went in the day before to figure out how to go about purchasing them since I had never purchased a phone on the day it was released, and he explained the process to me without making me feel totally incompetent even though thats how I felt going in. The next day, when I actually purchased the phones, Tom walked me through the whole process and helped me set up both phones and purchase phones, cases, and screen protectors. Everyone in the store is really friendly, too, and you can tell that they all work together as a team. 10/10 would recommend.
Bought a new iPhone with Mark’s help recently - 5 star experience. Stopped back in 3 days later because the screen protector was already peeling off. Lady told me they couldn’t help me.What kind of b/s customer service is that?! Gonna consider switching carriers - Verizon has a real loser in policies like that.
I was in there earlier today and Spencer M was one of the better sales reps Ive worked with in any industry. Despite his desk being at the back of the store; he was the first to stand up and greet me when I walked in. While I was there another customer came in and wanted to wait for Spencer to finish with me so he could be helped by him. To me that sums it up right there because there was a handful of reps available, but this man wanted to wait. Spencer was knowledgeable and was able to navigate me in the right direction with ease. I cant speak for any of the other reps at this store, but I would definitely go back to see Spencer again.

My husband and I recently switched from T Mobile to Verizon and couldnt be more pleased. The staff at the Verizon store went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. We had many phone options to choose from and they were patient answering all of our questions and leading us to the best plan to fit our needs. The staff continues to this day to provide excellent service anytime we have a need. Highly recommend not only Verizon but the Folly road office in particular!

Dealing with cell phones is usually right up there with waiting in line at the DMV for me. However, this time around was much better! My sales associate, Erika C, at the James Island location turned this into an enjoyable experience. She was very helpful, funny, and got me in and out in no time! 10/10! I will be going here for all future visits... hopefully when she is working!

Very large Verizon sales floor tucked right there on James Island halfway between Folly Beach and Downtown. Construction in the parking lot made it a bit difficult to get into BUT all that changed once inside. Tom Tran was my sales associate. Tom engaged in quality conversation while helping me pick out my accessories. What could have been an intimidating showroom floor was made comfortable and inviting by Tom. I’ll be back and recommend others to this location and Tom if available.
I REALLY like this Verizon Store. Its quiet, calm, peaceful. The guys were really helpful with the issues I had with my phone. I didnt have to wait (Im sure at some point some people do), so that was good! Will go to their store whenever I need their help.
Great store, excellent costumer service! While I was waiting I noticed every person who walked into the door were greeted immediately and assured that they would be helped momentarily if all associates were assisting someone at the time. Sales rep John was very patient and willing to answer any and all questions I had about the phone and the plan that I was signing up for. I never once felt pressured to purchase more than I needed. My Dad, I went to the Verizon store on Folly Road this morning, the salesman Spenser was very knowledgable, polite and helpful to get us two new screen protectors put on our phones.
I came to Verizon today on Folly Road to deal with unanswered question on my account, I was greeted by Chuck Holley and after 3 hours of dealing with customer service, fraud and billing, we were able to resolve so many unanswered question and fix some issues that needed to be corrected. He was pleasant and understanding and spent most of his day helping my free of charge. I HIGHLY recommend this location they are friendly and determined to help, and please ask for Chuck Holley he is an exceptional representative for Verizon...

Just left the Version store on FOLLY ROAD and was so impressed with working with Sam I wanted to make sure that everyone knew during this busy time of the year what excellent service I received. Ive had so much difficulty with this insurance company and Sam has made the insurance claim very easy to handle. To top it off he has lowered my bill $100 a month! Hats off to this GREAT store and Sam that I have had great experiences every time I have been here!

Went in recently to switch from AT&T. Tom gave me advice on the best plan to switch to that would also allow me to start a payment plan for a new phone. He was really helpful and gave me friendly and honest advice. I really appreciated his help and as a result my experience with both Verizon and Tom were exceptional.
I went in because my phone was not working. I was told by the sales representative that insurance would not replace it and even if they did, my phone was too outdated and that I would need to buy a new one. After reluctantly buying a new one, my phone was not set up correctly and I had to go back to the store. The phone was still not set up correctly and so I went to a real Verizon store at which point they told me insurance would have absolutely replaced my phone and that not only was my phone still compatible but that they were still selling it. It would be accurate to say that I was a victim of unethical and misleading sales practices at the folly road store. I will never go back.

I have been coming to the James Island Verizon for 5 years and without a doubt they have the best service and most accommodating team! This is the only Verizon that I will come to now. Tom was very helpful in getting me setup with a new iPhone. I highly recommend this Verizon!!
