Suddenlink has the absolute most garbage service of any business I have ever spent money at. For years I have had trouble with my cable modem rebooting itself multiple times daily. Sometimes, as its been doing for the last few days, it reboots itself 3-10 times an hour. How dare they charge me almost $140 a month for this trash! I have called their tech support numerous times; they are completely worthless. I have had multiple modems over these last 4-5 years, including one of my own. I had their 1Gig internet, then I lowered it to 400Mb, and they had the NERVE to tell me the problem was I need the higher internet speed when it did the exact same thing. I even bought a signal booster to try and strengthen the signal. Nothing works and they flat out refuse to check into the problem. How can a business operate like this? Its easy to understand why they are being investigated, but will anything actually be done about their poor service?

Why does Suddenlink keep saying in their responses to reach out on Facebook or Twitter or other Social Media? How about having a person answer a phone call or have a staffed location for a change? I do not use Social Media and I am sure that I am not the only one.

The four stars are for the service in our area, NOT the customer service! The customer service is fantastic, they listened to our issue (wifi outage), checked for outages, located the issue and let us know it was an area outage. They also helped us get set up with text alerts so we can keep up with estimated restoration times. As for internet service, our area is subject to frequent outages and service issues, particularly in Winter. Because our son is in virtual school, we need a reliable service. Really hoping they can resolve the ongoing issues!

Promised an appt on today (Monday) to set our service up, suddenlink canceled on us and said due to “technical difficulties” they can’t have a tech out until the following Monday. Very unprofessional, would rather have carrier pigeon service, but as suddenlink is our only option for Internet I’ll SADLY have to stick with them

They arent even worth the one star I gave them! Techs dont show when promised. Lied to constantly saying they will do a particular thing to fix issue. Customer service is THE WORST! Everything is outsourced to other counties. They transfer you to several different people stating the next will solve my problem. I could go on. Btw, Ive been with them less than a month and already hate them with a passion!

I realize that this is the Google business profile for the Suddenlink storefront in Charleston, but since they dont respond to the many complaints we have sent to them on their website, its better to post publicly here. We have had a long, drawn out history of bad experiences with Sudden link. Today a Lumber delivery truck went up our road and snagged a cable line that was already way too low. It ripped down the cable for the whole street and now we have lines across our lawn and driveway. And our neighbors dont have internet. We cant leave our house and were told someone would come this afternoon, and that if we werent here WE would be charged (when I already said three times that there are lines blocking our way out). They sent a confirmation email that says they are coming tomorrow instead of today. We call back to explain that they must come today so we arent trapped in our house and they make up a complete lie about not being able to reschedule and its out of their hands. I guess well just stay home until they come...? It is outrageous that Sudden Link has a monopoly on internet service in this area. We are forced to pay for subpar service and have no alternatives. Its no wonder everyone is leaving this state! And by the way, before some fake customer service bot responds, not everyone uses social media! How unprofessional to tell people to contact you there. Its pretty fishy that this company has an A- rating from BBB. We are looking into switching to Star Link ASAP.

Been waiting for 2 months for a specialist to come fix the TAP which is fried but no one can seem to set an appointment for it to be fixed, Ive made probably 30 phone calls to customer service and had technicians come out but they cant fix it there not qualified enough, Ive had tickets set to have it fixed but then they send someone who cant do it and they just say its fixed and I have to make all new appointments, no one will help and they dont care, worst company Ive ever seen and dealt with

They want me to buy more services before theyll let me use the services Im already paying for. The extremely rude customer reps. Accused me of stealing my cable boxes because the serial numbers where not in there system. And then they claimed it was installed wrong,okay so how would I get a new updated box plus a TiVo mini if it had not come from them, there technicians installed them and instead of checking with the tech who installed you call me the customer a thief and tell me its going to be two weeks before you can get back and in the meantime Im paying almost 200.00 for channels 1-12 and no wifi I believe Ill go to some other company at least I will not have been with them for years and all I get for my loyalty is the shaft.

Suddenlink is, without a doubt, the single worst cable company I’ve ever had to endure “service” from. I use the term service lightly because quite frankly, paying $130 a month for our cable/internet to be out almost constantly doesn’t exactly seem like service to me. Given the state of the world right now, you would think Suddenlink would feel a little more obligated to keep their customers’ internet working. Seeing as how most people are working from home, doing online school/college courses (myself included) internet seems to be quite the necessity nowadays.Due to my personal experiences with Suddenlink, I would highly recommend this company if and only if you have an extra $130 or more to be essentially stolen (in my opinion) from you every month and expect to get absolutely nothing in return. In addition, the customer service is god awful and it’s impossible to get anything accomplished through their customer service line. As people often say, If I could give them 0 stars, you can absolutely bet I would.Suddenlink, do better. Thanks.

I have only had Suddenlink for a month and a half. It took them 4 attempts to install my cable boxes and then they charged me for one of the visits. To be clear they kept not installing the second box, on 2 visits they didnt even bring the second box. It never worked until after the fourth visit. No one ever said I would be charged in fact I was told the opposite by the first guy. I also was charged for a tivo box one of the technicians brought to my place even though I had never asked for it, told him I did not want it and it was never installed. In my area there is no point paying for the 1k internet, Unless you are inside their office building they just dont have that speed. But if you want 400mbs it actually cost more so they artificially are inflating numbers for how many people are subscribed to their 1k internet. I’m using them for now because its such a chore to change but they have some seriously messed up billing tactics. If I get another mysteriously high bill I’m switching to a different provider.And yes the internet runs fast WHEN It is connected and not dropping off constantly. And it will drop off or get disconnected at random. The customer service center does not open until 8am so if you were planning to telework on time you can forget that dream. Here is how the disconnection scam works for new customers- They will send you a text saying they will take your autopay out on the 20th...this is a lie, as was told to me by their own agent. And because I didnt know that they just send those text automatically but really they can’t do auto pays for the first two months, (even though the service is month to month) they disconnected me on the first week of the next month. Lovely. So I had to pay 10 dollars for believing the text message they sent me.The service in all respects is not great. The customer service line is garbage and you constantly feel scammed.

Wish that i could give them a -100. We have been customers for over 10 years and the service has really gone down hill along with the price skyrocketing. We have been without cable for over a week they said that they would be at our house on August 4, but did not show up. Now they said that they have rescheduled the appointment until early Sept. Over a month without cable before we can get a new cable box. This is ridiculous. The tech on the phone said that is what we need. And of course they expect us to still pay the bill. Cant watch any channels at all

About three weeks ago I scheduled new plan installation with suddenlink for Oct. 1. Suddenlink proceeded to cancel my roommates internet plan without his approval at the end of his last service date 9/22. Admittedly, I should have realized the overlap beforehand, but I called 9/23 trying to move my installation date forward and supposedly a sooner date was not available. My roommate then called suddenlink trying to get his service turned back on and they ended up charging him three times for a whole month of service. To add to insult, the internet never came back on. Now they owe him $240 and think 7-10 days to get his money back is acceptable after they wired it from his bank immediately. TODAY 10/1 THEY DIDNT SHOW UP FOR INSTALLATION!!! I responded to an automated message yesterday about my appointment, so I know it was on file. I received no warning whatsoever from the local office that they wouldnt be showing up to their appointment. Now, I am told I must wait another week until 10/7 for an installation appointment!!! Suddenlink is a monopoly and they treat their customers as such.

I tried many times to contact customer service but, no response. When I finally got someone. My internet still didnt get fixed. I also was talking to a friend and told them how much I paid which was $230.00 a month an I only had basic cable, home phone and the little internet service I received. She told me they were over charging me, and she payed way less than I. So, I tried to call about that also, i talked to 4 different people at different times. They told me they would give me a better deal but my bill sill was the same $230.30.Even the person I was talking to agreed I was paying to much. The last person I talked to, still a month later. I told her my internet still wasnt working, she accused me of having my own equipment, which angered me because where in the world would I get my own equipment, but I keep my calm. Then she realized I had out dated equipment. So she told me the only thing she could do was for me, was for me to take twenty dollars off my next bill. When the bill came it still was $230.00 so I sent in the amount for that month, I took twenty off. My internet was cut off. Because they still told me I owed $23.00In my opinion, this company does very poor business. I have saw many complaints against them. Ireally think its a sad to treat not only your seasoned customers but everyone. To me this company should try to serve each customer better and represent honestly to show other companies they are true to their word. Maybe customer could tell other people about their business.

When I tried to get them to install Service it took three tries because the technician would not call me and kept going to the wrong address and once I got service installed the modem would keep turning itself on and off and the service was just absolutely terrible I was paying for much higher speeds and only receiving not even a half of that.

I have had this service since Jan 2020 and they have been nothing but a hassle, I had my service transferred when i moved in feb after i received a bill for 340.96 i made a 200.00 payment to ensure that they would transfer my services, i moved into my new home and they came out to have the service connected the technician was independent contractor who advised that he could not connect the service because there was no hot wire that the entire unit needed to be rewired now mind you i have the equipment that i had at my old address i than was told that the technician would swap out my equipment, the following week they sent a certified suddenlink technician to rewire this apartment, he never rewired anything he took the existing equipment and connected my service than covid happened, i have been disconnected every month twice per month for non payment they sent me a bill in April for 880.00 stating that i carried over a balance of 376.96 and 500.00 in equipment charges not at all correct i contacted them every month since and they adv me that i would have to return the equipment before they could remove the charges and that they would have to charge me another 60.00 in technician charges that they have already charged me for the installation that was rewired but never happened they than cut my service off again i called and called and they continue to adv that they will have a supervisor to contact me still has not happened i am now with out internet and cable and listed with a 0.00 balance and no active service and they have yet to cut it back on or send me any supervisor to assist me with the situation on top of me paying the full balance monthly to learn that my neighbor and i have been splitting the service neither of us getting the full megs we are paying for and i now have no service and a inactive account in the system they are a joke and they have the worse customer service representatives i have ever experienced

If I could give zero stars I definitely would… I have been trying now for over two months with four different workorders to have cable service installed in our home… Every time a work order gets to the day of install it gets rescheduled and nobody calls to inform me I have taken three days off work to get this taken care of and I have waited around the house for a technician to show up then an hour before the end of the set time for them to be here I receive an email of it being rescheduled every time I call and speak with A supervisor they informed me that they will call dispatch and find out what is going on and call me back I have had zero return calls from Suddenlink letting me know anything. I am an existing customer I currently have only Internet and I’m adding cable but because I’m not a new customer I get put off on the back burner if there were other choices in my area I definitely would be taking them Suddenlink is the worst company ever!!!!

Very poor customer service. They have no physical locations open in my area due to COVID, therefore I have to pay $60 for a technician to come to me to switch out equipment that I could otherwise just take to a store to switch out for free. You would think that since they have closed all physical locations but still provide service, they would waive the $60 fee but they refused. The only alternative was to sign up for a service that would cost me $6.99 per month on an already large and overpriced monthly bill. This company is just not customer friendly and not easy to deal with however no one else offers cable internet in the area.

Dont even bother to show up and keep scheduled appointment...still no resolution to this issue...was informed that her box isnt even registered in the system to work as it should have been when it was exchanged and still cant get help new with the issue totally unacceptable to be treated the way that she has...cant get through when you call after being on hold for 30+ minutes and then after you do get your call picked up you are put on hold again and hung up on...I think.maybe its BBB time as well as other filings

Slow... Very slow. And I dont mean the speed. The speed is phenomenal... ... When the modem stays connected! Unfortunately it is few and far between. It shouldnt take two and a half months to realize the modem is trying to connect to a dead channel. Every time the modem cycled data through that dead channel it kicked itself off thinking the whole signal itself was dead. And the process repeated every day for 64 days when they finally identified it and fixed it. Now it is working 100%. Still, it shouldnt take 64 days to recognize the modem was broadcasting through a dead channel. Anyway, giving this a 2.5 / 5 because the speed is incredible. The crew in Kanawha City is very helpful, but my problem is with the customer service over the phone. I cancelled back in July and turned in the equipment, yet they billed me almost 400.00. Been calling customer service since Jan2019 due to slow speeds although I am paying for the fastest speeds available and they installed a modem that doesn’t support the internet traffic and finally in June 2019 they fix the issue with the correct modem and they bill me for the error they made in the first place. Call customer Service and literally almost gets the rudest representative that I have ever spoken with since speaking with Suddenlinks representatives and I am now waiting for a manager to call me back to adjust a service fee that is on my bill.that was supposed to be adjusted on 7/23/19 (Lol) If a company made a mistake the first time and came back to correct it would they or should they charge you for their mistake? I am dumbfounded by this one.

Cheat you on the bill. Did not reduce price after charged equipment return, had to pay hidden equipment fees even though I returned their equipment a year ago. Offered mefree speed upgrade and even though I declined they still upgraded it and AND THEN INCREASED THE BILL BY $30!! KEEP TRACK OF YOUR BILL. Choose other internet providers if they have comparable rates.

The online pay doesn’t work and neither does paying my bill on the phone. So now since they have no way to pay it other than go to the store (which hasn’t been possible for me) my cable and internet have been shut down. They are so expensive, and my internet is TERRIBLE. Things take so long to download and then has to reload a million times. If it was an option to go with another provider I would in a heartbeat, but this is the only service that works where we live.

Never again. I have never called corporate over an employee at any store, restaurant, or public place. Was publicly cussed out by an employee, threatened, and chased outside the store. Corporate did handle the situation accordingly, and I was told that this employee no longer works with suddenlink. Hopefully this never happens to anyone, because most don’t know how to handle a situation like that.
