I paid $8 for a $4 sandwich. One slice of turkey and one slice of ham and not a lot of bacon. The Texas Toast was regular size one can get in any supermarket.

Showed up at 515pm on a Saturday, when they close at 6. They were awesome and even though they were out of part of what I wanted, they made it right. Fresh cut meats and awesome people.

Johnnie’s is the only place to get meat as far as I’m concerned. Their meats are always fresh and taste better than grocery store meats. Plus, I love knowing I’m supporting small and more local farmers. Good service, too.

The owner,employees,meat and cheese products are all top notch.Today i bought a couple pounds of chicken thighs,two New York Strip steaks, bacon, sausage, hamburger, bologna and pepperoni cheese,which I couldn’t wait to get home to have a few slices.The cost of all that was under Fifty dollars so you get great tasting products at a good price .

Just moved to the area, and discovered Capitol Market! Wow, I love it. Just got our first package of meat, I think it was the budget stretcher, $79.99. Definitely feels and looks like more meat than advertised, and so far the quality has been exceptional, its such a good deal and great for the local community! At least go have a look!

Customers service was very rude today, when I ask if I could see the tray beneath the top one, the salesperson said pork chops are pork chops, I ask if I could have another salesperson, the lady next to her said she would help me, she heard her coworker, she said to me she just started working here.Last week the salesperson didnt like to touch raw meat, so she used paper, which was fine but she would return the meat to its area and then have to wait before she could pick another piece up. Its not the meat, its the workers. This is a fresh meat store.

I usually go here to get my lunch and usually everyone is really nice but today was different. I go to pay for my lunch and the lady that is taking my money also does a drug deal right in front of me. I mean seriously? this is ridiculous. Trust me when I say that I will not be coming back here as long as that lady is working there.

Its hard not to like any place at the Capitol Market in Charleston. Jonnies is everything I expect from the markets positive atmosphere. Polite, quick service, excellent food options, and delicious sandwiches with a variety of choices. It is my favorite place to have a quick lunch at the market.

Johnnie’s meat market has veggie burgers made separately in a pan designated vegetarian so as not to cross contaminate your meat-free option with all of their other protein options! they really care about meatless customers and the food is SO good.
