This BEAUTIFUL cafe just opened in The Gwendolyn office building, off 15-501. The coffee and drink offerings are extensive, from brown sugar cinnamon lattes to Mexican spiced hot chocolate, housemade shakes to cortados (equal parts espresso and warm milk). And soon, a wine and spirits bar will be added for evening enjoyment. Its vegan-friendly menu includes pastries (muffins, cookies, breads) and assorted milks (almond, macadamia, coconut, soy, cashew), with plans to include full menu items in the coming weeks.I love the floor-to-ceiling windows that let in ample natural light, and the hanging plants that add a POP of green and make the eatery smell like a caffeinated forest, :-). I think an entire wall folds back, too, allowing a screened in breeze to filter through. This will be so awesome come Spring. There is ample seating -- inside and outside -- to safely gather with others while social distancing. The outdoor tables each have their own umbrellas and overlook the historic Glen Lennox neighborhood. Also, great customer service! The team explained unique menu items, like hot mushroom lattes, and shared a few of their favorites, as well.
Great customer service, but unfortunately my pastry and latte were not good — I’ve used the beans they use before and it was great so not sure if it’s the machine or technique. It’s a beautiful building but definitely need to work on more parking. Overall I liked the vibe and employees but I will not be back.
This is not good. They do not have cows milk but thats ok, I dont mind oat milk. But the service was appallingly slow and the drink had zero coffee flavour. Its just a warm oat milk drink. Oh and then for two lattes, it was over $13. Wow! Wont be returning. I suggest you go get coffee up the road at Guglhupf by Trader Joes.
Super cute place!Coco opened this week right next door to my apartment complex, so I stopped by on a morning walk with my dog. I was planning on ordering and waiting outside, but they said no and suggested I tie his leash to an outdoor chair and come back in and order. Since the location is right off a busy, major road, the risk of something happening to him made it a really uncomfortable idea for me.Im sure their coffees tasty, they have a nice business philosophy, and their decorating is truly beautiful, but their suggestion really rubbed me the wrong way. It felt like they were saying to risk his life to order their coffee. I dont think Ill be stopping by again unless they do something to accommodate morning dog walkers in the future. Kinda bummed because it would have been a nice self-care treat to stop by and get a coffee once or twice a week.If theyre open to ideas, Id propose they make an app or some to-go order form on their website for patrons to order drinks from with a little optional comments section included in the drink order where people can mention things like if theyre walking their dogs and will be waiting outside in a few minutes.
This place is awesome. It’s vegan everything! I love the fact that it’s super cozy, there is lots of space, and there are plenty of books to read. there are so many special treats for vegans. If you are looking for a healthy food spot to gather with friends and family or your small group, this is the place. It’s conveniently located and there is plenty of parking right outside of the doors. The staff is super nice. They will be able to answer any of your questions regarding their products. I can’t wait to come back here!
You think that ordering a bagel with cream cheese would be a simple affair. It would be if you didnt have to do it yourself. They give you a bagel and point you at the toaster on the other side of the room. What? Why did I come in here if Im making it myself? Isnt this what Im paying for? They gave me the cream cheese in a freaking cup! So I guess Im supposed to reach in and grab it out of there? Good luck trying to play the game of fish the block of mushy cheese out of a cup with a knife. I can tell you that its not fun and nobody really wins. What is wrong with this town where this sort of nonsense is acceptable? Its like everyone went to college here and then just stayed and opened businesses that a 19 year old would find acceptable. This town and the businesses in it need to grow up.
High quality coffee with relatively quick service, this shop is pretty chic and airy. They’ve got solid WiFi and plenty of seating with excellent light — there’s also a conference room available. Bathrooms are clean, and parking is plentiful. All in all a good place for your hot beverages and study needs.
So happy they have outdoor seating! Muffin was small and way overpriced but good. Coffee mediocre and very slow, poor service.
The coffee is so good! I decided to get one last cup for the evening and it is delicious. The staff are all friendly and inviting. You can’t go wrong.
Dog friendly and great coffee! ❤️
This location is absolutely outstanding. the service here is outstanding. the prices are fair for the quality of food. food is similar to a cafe in portland i loved.
Options for everyone, the staff is a delight, and some gift and snack options if youre needing something in that neighborhood! definitely a must go!!!
Delicious Matcha Latte this cold morning! Thanks!
Great local shop, in a convenient location! The customer service is fantastic, very friendly employees. They were able to accommodate a very large order at the last minute, and then went above and beyond to make sure it worked out as needed.
The women working was so rude.I had a Mask nd she still acted like I had a disease and what even come near the counter where I had to pay, she gave my my cover and hurried scurried back and said sorry dont want to be rude. if you say that youre being rude. I would not recommend anyone to go to this place especially if youre Asian.
This place has a great atmosphere. I love the salted caramel latte with almond milk. The market has some interesting things to look at. Would recommend.
Amazing desserts all vegan coffee is good have a variety of flavors if you like that some are even home made. All the treats are homemade and even have a fridge with extra stuff you can buy. They also have a market. I gave it four stars because it says all vegan but they still have dairy options for their coffee and no vegan cream cheese or butter for the bagels so I am little confused by that otherwise I go here every weekend for a pastry and coffee in the morning.
Dropped in for a treat. The cashier argued when I pointed out she didnt give correct change. She insisted I gave her not a fifty, but a ten. Manager reopened the till, and silently confirmed Id paid with the fifty. No apology. No comment at all. Painful to observe all three behind the counter trying to make proper change. I suggested I simply leave with the fifty and they could keep the cookie. Good bye Felicia.
Amazing honey almond latte!
I thought it was the most horrible place if your trying to avoid great coffee and endless sinfull pastries.
I absolutely adore this place. I travel to Chapel Hill often for work and love coming in here. The baristas are incredibly friendly and I love the variety and options for drinks and tasty treats as well. Great spot to get some work done or just hang out while Im staying nearby!
Ordered a Mocha with almond milk. It is delicious! Barista knows what she is doing. $4.67 with tax. Finally, no extra charge for alternatives to cow milk. A little crowded, but cozy atmosphere with couch and cushion Charlies or table with regular chairs.
First time me and my SO went here. The atmosphere and building was amazing and Everyone was super friendly. She got a coffee and I got the green tea latte.Neither of us really liked either of our drinks, the coffee was burnt but we also had a new employee making our drinks.Nothing against the employee nor the drinks. It just wasnt to our taste, the place was nice enough that well come back to try other drinks.
I went to this place with my sorority sisters, and it was cute and delicious! We loved the coffee and pastries. However, one of the baristas was extremely creepy and kept staring at us the WHOLE time we were there, as well as hit on one of my friends while she was buying her drink. That knocked off two stars for the experience, as he was so intense. :/I got the mocha and it was awesome!!!!
Definitely the most vegan friendly coffee shop in town. They have great savory and sweet treats from all over the triangle (shout out to the sriracha lentil tamales). My one gripe is that they don’t use a soy milk made for coffee drinks, so it ends up making a really weak foam as opposed to the dense rich foam you would get from a soy latte or cappuccino at any other half-decent coffee shop. But that’s an easy fix. Overall, I love this place.
By far the best Matcha tea latte Ive ever had! The oat milk was so creamy, and the latte itself wasnt laden with sugar like most. The coffee shop itself is a wonderful place to study or knock out some work. Plus many options for allergy friendly eats. Highly recommend, definitely worth the extra drive from Apex.
Love this place! Service was friendly and quick, and everything was delicious. Huge assortment of vegan goods - food items for any time of day.
Big fan. Local, easy in and out on my way to work, supports an important cause, always a good selection of vegan options, good coffee, fun place to spend an hour or two.
Does almost everything right--from donating 10% of profits to a childrens charity to maintaining a funky, stylish space, to offering free used coffee grounds for your garden! The only thing thats not great? The coffee. Very limited food selections and basic coffee/tea offerings. Great spot if you want to do good or do work.
This place is amazing! So many different and unique syrup flavors, gluten free and vegan food options, and a bright atmosphere. My favorite thing about this coffee shop is the variety of milk options at no extra cost! The baristas are also super friendly and welcoming.
Great place to talk but they only have disposable cups so bring your own.
Really nice people! Great service and coffee!
Lovely coffee, very clean and sophisticated atmosphere. Good for business meetings or just casual coffee. I highly recommend their hot chocolates!
I highly recommend the Mexican hot chocolate with macadamia milk! Good selection of vegan bakes at the front and market in the back make this shop great for a caffeine boost, sweet tooth fix, and pantry/fridge restock.
Nice little place to hang out with good coffees and snacks.
Amazing vegan options. Soy, coconut, cashew, almond, and macadamia milks - not to mention all the food offerings from local companies! Love love love this place.
Lots of seating. Looks like something out of a trendy home design magazine. Tries too hard to be a hip place. Food options are limited. Coffee is decent if you get the French press.
Delicious vegan options. All the baked goods!
Very friendly and taking covid precautions seriously!
This place is great. Wonderful atmosphere and music, plenty of sweet and savory treats, at least 6 types of milk, and cute baristas too. Kinda wish they stayed open a little later, but the place is great enough that I often stay there studying until they close. Excellent location too.
As locally owned, charming coffee shops go, the owners have spent more time making this a charming spot to hang out and suck up wifi and have kinda forgotten the coffee part of their business. They lack a real (manual) espresso machine and their baristas just arent. While their attention to things like vegan, organic, and buying local is certainly to be applauded, their prices for all their food items is overly high. $5 for a small coffee and then another $5+ for a slice of some baked something to go with it is just too much for a cafe in this area, I think. Nice spot to spend time working on ones manuscript and not the worst coffee Ive ever had, to be fair - I just wish theyd take the coffee part of their business more seriously.
Excellent coffee, I like it black, no sugar. Great variety of gluten free, vegan and vegetarian treats. Wide selection of non dairy milks.
Great time at Coco Bean Coffee Shop! Great service and nice spot to relax over coffee, wineand began or gluten free treats with friends!
I I got a regular drip coffee which was average priced and tasty. Nothing exceptional. Then I got these energy balls which I thiught were super overpriced when I paid, but they turned out to be amazing so potentially worth it.
Save your money and go to a chain, 2 employees were so engrossed in flirting with the young girl ahead of me as the line is forming they were oblivious. Overpriced and the coffee sucks. 5.38 for a med iced? And then it was just iced coffee no flavor. Such a turn off. Will not return. I asked for a refund and got a coupon instead. Why would I go back when it was so terrible???
Good seating, well-lit, great atmosphere. Would prefer for my lattes to be made a little warmer though; both times I have ordered, they have been lukewarm. I find the music can be a little too loud for studying sometimes, and their bakery foods are overpriced.
Hip if you want to spend time on your computer; but not hip for coffee and pastry! An 8 oz coffee plus whatever you add to it costs just a few cents but you are charged much more. If you also buy a miniature muffin, which also costs a few cents, the total sales price comes to $5.91. This is outrageous! On top of pricing, the muffin tasted mealie (i.e. not leveled or baked properly) illustrating that the baker is a novice.Buyer beware.
Adorable spot! A cozy hideaway on a wintry day. Bonus: Free coffee grounds for your garden.
I love this place! Staff is super friendly and the coffee is the best. Im in and out almost daily.
This place is a pretty awesome little study spot for coffee. It has lots of seating and great options.
Nice Cafe. Cute quiet place to hang out and/or have coffee or a glass of wine with a friend.
Organic milk! Pleasant staff. Def worth the extra 4min drive!! (passed the declining competition)
The barista (Elise) was extremely kind and very helpful/quick with my complicated order. Would definitely do large orders at this location again simply for the top quality customer service!
Their cashew milk latte is to die for!! Really cute little shop! It is very small though. Not a lot of room if you have plans to study.
Beautiful clean atmosphere, delicious vegan baked goods, and amazing coffee. service was exceptional, barista named Leah in particular is especially nice and talented and deserving of a raise.
Very well behaved stuff. Nice collection of coffee
Very pricey- but @least the drinks w/tumeric were outstanding.
This is a good place to get an iced coffee or a hot drink
Love their vegan/gluten free offerings, especially the macadamia latte!
Love that I can get a cashew milk latte here! They have a variety of non-dairy milks to choose from.
Expensive but very tasty. Internet access is spotty so dont plan to go there to work. Food selection is narrow and the microwaves have blown a fuse twice while I was there.
Got a frozen mocha from here, I wouldnt recommend it. ... there was literally pieces of coffee beans all over in it that get stuck in your teeth. The girl gave it to me without a lid and I had to ask for a lid and a straw
Coffee is decent. Treats are all vegan. Very pricy!
I want to like Coco Bean so much Im done with the inconsistent lattes. Ordered a seasonal latte today, and it took 30 mins only to have it come out lukewarm with a bizarre chemical taste.
Great atmosphere, yummy pumpkin spice latte out of season, but I was grateful! Huge tea selection.
Great local coffee stop with a very comfortable seating area and WiFi.
Awesome customer service, plenty of vegan options and the owners are amazing
Great non-dairy milk selection and tons of seating
Nice coffee shop. Great seating areas.
Great coffee selections!
Friendly staff. Delicious iced cold brew and they have agave and simple syrup on the counter!
Terrible coffee and hay-tasting cakes....sad!
No indoor seating
Great little independent coffee shop!
Yummy coffee, a little overpriced.
Awesome coffee and friendly service
Great place, just wish it was less expensive
Friendly staff. Good, quality coffee
We love this place!
Includes private room you rent space in
Bagels are too e🐵xpensive but otherwise good
