Coffee was OK, and atmosphere nice. Very amiable crew, except they moved like they were slowly perusing books in a library rather than efficiently serving a generally rushed public. If you don’t mind waiting 15 min for an iced coffee - enjoy!

Great time sitting outside for coffee date that turned into lunch and all day hangout until elementary school released. Friendly staff. Quick service. Masks required for all inside.

Love it love it love it.Excellent coffee, so good I ordered it twice! Surprisingly delicious chocolate cookies (somewhere between a brownie and a cookie) that went perfectly with their coffee. The two ladies that were there (Saturday afternoon) were very sweet, friendly, and offered suggestions and made sure you ordered what you really wanted. They were awesome. Space is a little cramped when its raining, since the extra seating is outside, but apart from that the place is exactly what I was looking for. It was clean, coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere was friendly comfortable and very inviting.I cant wait to go back.

One of my favorite spots to grab lunch. Im a huge fan of the bagel BLT and chicken salad wrap. The matcha lemonade is also fantastic.

Pricey for the quality of food they offer, and service seems to have a hard time keeping up with even just a handful of orders. But appreciated the very Covid-safe protocols they have in place. Felt very safe eating here (outside only).

It’s our neighborhood favorite for an amazing Chai or gelato. Great place to sit by yourself or meet up with friends wine down Wednesday’s. Staff is on the ball and attentive. Cozy spot on a sunny or rainy day.

Had a plain drip coffee and it was fantastic. It has been a long time since I had a coffee that tasted that good with no additives. Everyone was super friendly and they seem to be taking precautions seriously right now.

Best thing about this place was the couch and view. Coffee was subpar compared to the price you pay.

Once again. Pricey, good coffee, tasty options but pay attention to the order. I ordered a side of bacon and 1 piece of bacon for $4 arrived. The server would pay attention to what they are serving and the order . Its 3 slices and I would think it should be HOT not room temperature. Its great to have a wonderful place to go to, it wasnt crowded or busy so please please pay attention to details. That is what will make us eager to return..Many Thanks

Inventiveness! This shop creates terrific coffee and steamed milk drinks, and baked goods, and best of all, in-house gelato of terrifically inventive flavours.

So unbelievably delicious! I had the pumpkin spice latte and the pumpkin spice gelato, both of which were phenomenal. My sister had espresso over vanilla gelato, which is probably my new favorite way to drink coffee!

Absolutely wonderful cafe. Food is absolutely delicious and the gelato hit the spot. Glad I got to see Popcorn Blue play a fantastic show outside. Great experience.

Friendly service and great coffee. La Vita Dolce is a regular morning routine for me and the service is always excellent. I recommend the Mexican Mocha while my wife enjoys the Carmel Latte.

This place has become one of my go-to spots to get work done or study. Its not huge, so it can easily get crowded--not terrible though. Drinks and food are good (lots of options), and the staff is friendly. Cushioned seats are a huge plus. And there are often dogs outside which can offer a nice break from work 🐶

The wine Wednesday experience was great! We split a bottle, ordered food, and listened to the music. Everyone we interacted with was very nice and wearing proper safety gear (masks, gloves)

This place has some of the best gelato Ive ever tasted. The flavors are always changing and they make it in house. They also have a couple non dairy frozen dessert options available for those who cant eat dairy. Been here many times and its always delicious!

“We’ve been busy” that’s the smart- aleck comment from the staff person that responded to me after a 40 min wait for two coffees and a bowl of yogurt and a bagel sandwich when I mentioned that several customers were having to sit at un-sanitized tables Because there isn’t outside cleaner to self clean and no staff had been monitoring...We’ve been busy? Too busy to care about your customer’s health and safety during COVID? ESP after chatting up other customers for ten minutes right by the uncleaned tables ?Sorry - you’ve lost a regular ! And one star is too high for the attitude I received today at 945 am non breakfast rush time .

Great place to bring a laptop and work or meet a friend for that after hours glass of wine. I always enjoy whatever treat I get and can only do their pumpkin spice lattes now because they are the only ones I have tried that dont taste artificial or full of sugar.

I just experienced the Wine it down Wednesday - it was great. Id love for the menu and wine list to be larger but I was happy with what I got. Bonus points to the staff for actually bringing me a table and chair outside so I could enjoy the music.

This is a nice coffee shop that incorporates gelato Ice cream into their drinks. The coffee is pretty good but their ice cream is even better. Good service and good quality.

I was expecting to taste some fresh real ice cream based on the positive reviews so I took my wife and son this afternoon to visit the place. Not sure why this place is called Vita Dolce. It should be called Vita Vuoto (empty life). Sadly half of the stainless steel ice cream containers were empty!!! The other half, no more than a quarter of old ice cream was left. Dont waste your time with this place if you want good ice cream.

I was looking for a good cafe place near unc, and finally found one turned out this is the best one. When I entered I was kindly greeted by a kind woman named Eleanor. She chatted with me as she served me my gelato and made me feel at home. I greatly recommend this place :)

Best sorbets Ive had in the US. Ive always had sorbets in my home country of Argentina but here in the US, I had to be content with regular ice cream or Italian ice (yuck!)..Not anymore. La Vita Dolce has real and great tasting sorbets. A rare gem to find in the US.

This review is for the food. I did not try the gelato or their coffee. I had a very lackluster Panini (chicken pesto); it was soggy and bland and definitely not worth $10! However, the service was pleasant and the atmosphere was enjoyable and conducive to working. They have a nice outdoor seating area as well. For me, one star for the food and four stars for Ambience and service.

We went for gelato. They have unique flavors like watermelon basil. I had the blueberry pear and my friend had chocolate Oreo. We were both pleased, but it is not the best in the area.

This is by far my favorite coffee shop in Chapel Hill. The staff are always friendly, and the hand-crafted seasonal beverages the team concocts never disappoint!

Five girls working. Im the only customer at the counter waiting for my 2 paninis to be made. Waited 15 minutes-at a minimum-for 2 small sandwiches to be made. (Remember, Im the only customer waiting-2 tables with 2 persons each, already finished eating and just talking, and again, five girls working). Got my paninis, they even forgot to put the bacon on them! I wont go there again. No recommendation.

This is a great shop located in Southern Village. The gelato is amazing and the service is great! They also have a great selection of specialty drinks and sandwiches.

This place is one of my go-to places when I need some quiet, but dont necessarily want to be alone. Its quiet. The vibe is relaxed and there are usually people sitting in here working on their computers or engaged in conversation. Its a fabulous place to go to get school and computer work done.I usually order an iced caramel latte if early in the day or a root beer float in the afternoon and evening hours. The gelato is good. Im not particularly fond of gelato or ice cream in general but I do enjoy this there occasionally. They also offer cheese trays, paninis, wraps, and acai bowls. All look good, but I have not tried them.If the weather is nice, make sure that you enjoy their outdoor seating. Its fun to people watch and there is ample opportunity to peacefully observe the comings and goings in Southern Village. I highly recommend!

Awesome place for ice cream...or ice cream & churros or a cheesecake burrito...OMG! The ice cream is made with fresh fruit & nuts. My new favorite? Ferrero! Or coffee almond? Luckily, I had a scoop of each. Definitely be visiting them again. A uniquely yummy place for dessert.

I absolutely love the iced coffee here, however, out of the many times I have been there, the service has been awful. One time the owner herself was in there and she was on the phone the whole time she was serving me and acted like I was interrupting her day by coming into the store. She even got angry because employees in the past had accepted my debit card for a $4.80 bill when there is a $5 minimum for credit cards. Its over priced and definitely isnt worth it because of the service. I dont think Ill be going back any more.

I love this coffees shop/Gelato Bar. About as Italian as it gets without being in Italy. Indoor/Out door seating and great wifi. Students/professors from UNC often are here. All of the great things of other big brand coffee shops without the pretentiousness.

Always clean with unique offerings of ice cream, coffee, and beer. The staff are always nice and its usually fairly quiet.

Pricy but you get what you pay for. Fantastic coffee and super friendly staff!
