I took my 2015 Subaru in for a $78 oil change @Midas My oil change was done incorrectly and now I’m left with a $3200 bill that midas is trying to fight me on. I went into the store where I got the oil change 2602 Williams BLVD and was given a free oil change. Within minutes my engine light was on. I took it to a REAL mechanic and found out that the improper oil change leaked down onto the left timing belt. @midas has been NO HELP. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!!!! Save yourself $3200-$3500 and get your oil changed anywhere else. Also @Midas 2602 Williams Blvd SW Cedar Rapids, IA they told me 2 years ago that my 2008 Jeep needed a new drive train for $1800. They even took me under the car to try and convince me I needed this part. GUESS WHAT my JEEP is driving fine 2 years later without a new drive train. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE AND THEY WILL MESS YOUR CAR UP. LITERALLY DESTROYED MY 2015 Subaru with less than 55k miles on it. PLACE IS A COMPLETE JOKE.

We have taken a couple of different cars there over the past year for various repairs and routine maintenance and have consistently had a good experience. They are not the cheapest around, but they explain things in depth without mansplaining, and the estimate always matches the final bill. I really appreciate that the print out youre given when paying line items all the parts and labor expenses so you know exactly what/why you were charged.

I went in for a basic oil change. They had a special going on for a $20 oil change. I stated that’s what I wanted. the man working told me that he had to put the best oil in and that it would be $75. I told him no I just want what I usually have put in and he put the $75 stuff in anyway.

I cant think of the young man and young lady who serviced me but they we very polite and professional and very informative. I will definitely be returning.

Today, manager Noel Burns, helped our son by reducing the price of his radiator installation. Our adult son recently lost his job, and has a disability. It’s hard to believe, but many people take advantage of the disadvantaged. However, Noel went out of his way to help our son, since we live out of state. Many people in Cedar Rapids are struggling right now, thank goodness Noel has a big heart, and cares for his customers. He was polite, professional, helpful, and empathetic. When we come back to Cedar Rapids, I will personally thank him. For now, he will get the best possible review from us. Thank you Noel, for helping our son, and for helping us.

So i did then 30 minutes later in a 5 car Stall they got my car took then another 45 minutes to install. Lol🤣. Ive changed that battery before. What a joke

Great customer service! The manager Noel came to our house to pick up my husband to go get my car since I borrowed my husbands truck to get to work and we didnt have a way of getting it until the next day.

Over filled my oil left top off of air filter and gave me an estimate for 5000.00 to fix things on my truck. Just went in for an oil change.

I will never go to this place again!!!!My life was endangered after a simple oil change.As usual they try to find other things wrong with your vehicle so you can have them to fix it at an outrageous price SMH.So they talk me into a free brake inspection and of course tells me that I need new drums and pads all the way around.I refused to pay over 1,000 and took my car to someone else.But my car wobbled and it wasnt wobbling before o took it to them.The person that actually put my brake pads on checked my tires and one of my tires was just waiting to pop off,lug and nuts werent line up right or screwed on tight at all!!!!Knowing that I was going out of town for the holidays.I will never ever go to them again!!!!!!!

I stopped here on December 31st because my truck was stuck in 4 wheel drive and wasnt able to drive over 15mph or I would severly damage the engine. I asked the gentleman behind counter Im assuming was the manager if someone could put differential fluid into my transfer case becausr OReillys told me it took a special tube. He said he was 5 cars behind. I was ok with that I realized I didnt have an appointment but could he at least help me get it out of 4 wheel drive so I didnt damage my engine. It literally would have taken this man 2 seconds out of his day to help le but he tefused. Where is the customer service these days amd going above and beyond what is expected to help someone? Definately NOT here.

I had a pulsing when stopping. Noel was amazing. I called in the early AM and he was able to get me squeezed in the same day. They also checked what I thought was an oil leak. Turns out my rotors were shot. They quoted me a price and I checked around to find that it was cheaper than most. The thing I appreciated more was when Noel told me I had no oil leak. It was where I had spilled when adding some earlier in the week. I know a lot of shops that woukd have said it was a gasket or something. I appreciated their honesty. I would not hesitate to use them again. It appears that they are trying to get away from the stigma that they are over price . I found true value in my experience. Thanks Noel.

I had a great experience. My tire was quickly deflating as I was driving past Midas. They were able to make time for me, repair my tire & got me back out. I was impressed with their customer service, repair service on tire & speediness of the whole experience. I would highly recommend them. Thank you!

The only reason this is getting a 2 star is because the people that worked there were extremely nice. I had an appointment at 4 for a simple oil change/tire rotation. Should be 30 min or so easy with having a appointment. 1 hour and 45 min later I finally get my car and leave. Pricing also seemed pretty high. Will never return to this location.

They forgot to look at my tire and the clicking noise from my dashboard which i mentioned on the phone before going in. They also resealed and gave my tire a new valve stem but didnt even put back the cap for the valve stem. They were really expensive and forgetful. Having to take my vehicle back in tomorrow after spending over $1,300 on getting basically minor things fixed. I would recommend really investigating other places.

After coming out to a completely flat tire after work and everywhere closing within 10 minutes, Midas came through for me! They were able to get me in very last minute at closing time to do a repair. They really helped me out in a pinch when they didn’t need to. Very friendly customer service, especially seeing how it was closing time!

Professional, informative, timely.

The staff was friendly and courteous. Prices are great as well. My only compliant is their upselling of repairs that are not necessary or of very little concern or not needed at this time. They said my battery was bad when it has had zero start issues and my tire rod needed replaced. Basically saying I needed about $400 of work on car that is running and driving great when I came in for a $30 oil change.

I dropped my car off at 9:30 expecting to need my brake pads changed. I was told 30-45 minutes for the inspection/estimate. An hour and 45 minutes later, I was called with an estimate of almost $1000 for basically everything but the brake pads. I told them to just do an oil change for now. Two hours later, I called them asking if my car was done (two hours is ridiculous for an oil change). Guy told me its been done and he wasnt sure why I hadnt been called.THANKS so much for leaving me without a vehicle from 9:30AM until 1:20PM. It was lovely.

Being prior military I have traveled all over the world along with the majority of the states. This Midas is by far the best mechanic shop I have visited. Bill is the current Manager and he is not only courteous, he is honest and a great conversationalist! Bill explains every situation along with multiple options. As I wait for my vehicle to be finished, which is never too long, I listen to Bill talk to other customers and he never pushes unnecessary maintenance or parts. Thank you Bill for being a person of your people and continuing to gain my trust and business. I always recommend you and your shop to everyone that has car trouble or just looking to upgrade to a better place!James is the lead mechanic at Midas. James is beyond experienced and lends a hand to all vehicles in the shop. James greets all customers with a handshake and a smile, and will explain any deficiencies he finds in great detail along with options he thinks are best to take. James is a one of a kind person with an amazing attitude! You can tell he loves his job and wants to make sure you feel fully serviced and not make you feel like a dollar sign. Truly unqualified technicians for basic car repair.. they rip off people with high prices coupons doesnt count Not coming back

Went in originally thinking I was going to have to buy new brakes for my car. They looked over my car for FREE and checked over everything. I ended up having a rock in my brake pad and they took care of it for me. Other places charge money just to look at your car. Highly recommend!!

Against my better judgement, I took my car here for an oil change because I got what appeared to be a good offer in the mail (which ended up costing way more after they added in the fine print charges). While there, they came to inform me I had major problems with my brakes that need to be fixed right away. They gave me an estimate of over $600. Since the customer that was in the waiting room with me just had an argument with the workers because they were making up problems on his car - I wanted a 2nd opinion. I took my car to my normal place (where i should have gone in the first place) and sure enough - there are NO PROBLEMS with my brakes...avoid this place.

This is my preferred Midas! I have to go a little bit out of my way to get here, but they take care of you here! Went in for oil change and tire check, they noticed my transmission fluid wasnt the right color. They had the time so I just had them do it.

Brakes still squeak. They work fine, but still squeak and people in the crosswalk look at me like I am not going to stop for them. They worked fine before you put new ones in and this was supposed to fix the squeak.

We were on our way home to St. Louis when just outside of Cedar Rapids noticed an extremely flat tire. It was 4 p.m. on a Saturday so we knew open businesses would be limited. The guys at Midas were outstanding. They not only agreed to check our tire on short notice close to their closing time, but were able to get us back on the road in less than 30 minutes. 10/10 would recommend and cant thank them enough!!!!

Overall I had a fantastic experience here. I went in for an oil change & a general check up. Turns out I needed a couple other things. They took me into the garage & showed me on my car each thing that was wrong & what it was supposed to look like. I had some concerns about money so they told me what was absolutely needed vs what wasnt really necessary right now & I felt like they were being honest & genuine about it.I also had alot of other appointments that day & was planning on it taking no longer than an hour but with the new things, they said it would be 4, so they offered to give me a ride to wherever I needed to go. I couldnt pick my car up until after they closed & they even stayed late & waited to make sure I got my car. Overall, very helpful, friendly, & knowledgeable. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because I felt that some of the quoted prices were a little high.

8/2/18 Amazing! I was on a break in-between classes when I ran to get my exhaust checked, the staff was excellent and had me in and out in less than an hour. They showed me the work they had completed and charged me a fair price. They made a stressful situation- pleasurable! I would go here again and again.

Initial inspection went good, then came the price that they wanted to do a brake job on my truck $900. That is crazy got them done for 1/3 of that price. Got a smug have a nice day as I was leaving after laughing at their price.

Thank you for the Oil Change and new Wiper Blades that was great! - I did not like how you gave me a list of items that were URGENT SAFETY CONCERN things that needed fixed when I just took my vehicle to a mechanic that is friends of the family and they told me my vehicle was fine and wasnt going to lose a tire oh and my shocks are just fine - so happy I didnt sign up for your 6 month credit card to get these URGENT items fixed!!!! I feel sorry for all the other women who come in there for something simple and leave with thousands of dollars in bills because they are scared something is seriously wrong!!

I had a flat tire today across the street and I called Midas in tears because I was stuck at a business holding up traffic with a body clip that had come off the underneath of my car and punctured my tire and it was flat when I called them they came right over there they helped change my flat tire and made sure I could get across the street to their shop where they were very wonderful and gracious to me they change my tire they re-put the clip on they fix the flat that rotated tires all while they were being absolutely phenomenal Both Greg and Fernando were awesome and treated me well I will go back there whenever I need something

Midas found the true solution to my auto problems, when others misled me. I got honest, straight forward answers, and was informed of any variables or situations I may run into. Explained in detail my repairs, and always made sure I understood fully. I have taken two cars here for several repairs, and always left very satisfied. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for quality work done right the first time.

Absolutely do not recommend going here. Completely outrageous. I was told the wheel barring in my car was bad, but is perfectly fine.

They are a rip off they messed up my engine on purpose and will not take responsibility for there actions the manager name is Brandon and he was not helpful at all now I have to go to the courthouse to file a case against them

I am very happy with the work that was done on my Camaro, the mechanic did an excellent job and I was very impressed with the quality and workmanship. Dave the manager was very good at his job and made sure everything was done. He was very helpful and courteous.

Had a rattle in my Lexus that I was trying to chase down for over a year. Took it to a dealership and they suggested that I take the vehicle to an exhaust repair shop since they specialize in that sort of thing. Went to Midas. They quickly determined that the catalytic converter was cracked on the inside and making the noise. They replaced the converter the next day and now the rattle is gone. It was an expensive repair, but about half the cost of just the part, had I gone to Lexus.

My brother purchased a car so after fixing wheel bearing and lower control arms decided to have midas give opinion on whats all wrong with car since just purchased. They started saying wheel bearing was bad that was just replaced and trying to get brother to fix things that are not wrong with car being i just replaced them!! DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR CAR HERE THEY WILL ROB YOU. i also called to see why they said it was bad and they explained because there was play in the wheel after stating that the tie rod on that same side was bad. I ask how it would be the wheel bearing if it was literally just replaced a week ago and it drives smooth and nothing shows signs of it going bad in a week and all they said is i dont know what to tell you DO NOT RECOMMEND

Used a Midas coupon for a FREE oil change with tire rotation and was charged $8. The tire rotation was not done. When I asked, they said it was not needed, yet on the scheduled maintenance report they printed it stated a tire rotation was needed! The interior of my car was full of oil left by the tech. Also the CRS light was on. (It was not on when I came.) They ran a diagnostic and told me it was not on and there was no problem. I left with an oily interior, the CRS light on, and no tire rotation. This former loyal customer will not return. The prior manager, Bill, is surely missed.

The employees were extremely kind, but I felt like I was almost robbed. Earlier this week I went in to Midas to get an estimate for my car. I had a head light out and my steering wheel was making a noise when I made sharpe turns. After their crew looked over my car for about an hour they gave me an estimate for around $2300, they said that I needed new shocks and struts. (Along with an overpriced bulb) After thinking it over knowing that my car had less than 50,000 miles on it, I took it to another auto shop. This shop fixed what was necessary, which was the light bulb and the tighting of bolts within the steering column. Total cost was $108. This was an extremly scary and eye opening experience. I felt like Midas rushed through when looking at my vehicle and almost made me pay for parts not needed. Just a heads up...

Had serious car trouble while driving through Iowa - the Midas crew got right to work. The newly refurbished waiting room with free Wi-Fi and clean restroom was very pleasant. The manager put on Star Wars (nice big - screen TV). Passed the time quickly. The crew went all - out to get us back on the road as quick as they could. We really appreciated their dedication.

( I have a slow leak in one of my tires that’s how I know) they didn’t check or refill any off my other fluids!! I’m going to have oil checked to see if they even did a oil change!! The People here are amazing! They worked with us on getting tires for our van. At first they were to expensive, but then Mackenzie called back after speaking with her boss, and BAM!! Originally had no openings but emailed me when they had a cancellation and got me in. Clean enough waiting area, the service was quick and friendly people. They useuValvoline oil and NAPA filters so nothing wrong there, either.

I was in town visiting and needed some repair work. We didnt know who to take it to. Since we werent from there, we knew Midas is a trusted name. John explained everything that was wrong with my vehicle and fixed what was necessary. The service was outstanding. I would recommend this shop to anyone in Cedar Rapids. Or for anyone visiting that has any muffler problems.

Do not ever go to Midas. Break line broke and charged $485.00 to fix. If I could of drove my truck somewhere else I would have. Told me I needed a new battery stupid asses my battery was brand new. Midas is the biggest rip off place. Will never go to another Midas again.

A few weeks back I called to have my brakes checked. The guy I spoke to seemed nice enough but when they brought me in to tell me what could be replaced it ended up being more money than the car itself was worth. Hesitantly I told them I wouldnt be able to do it that day. I felt bad considering theyd taken the wheels off already to check things out but had to leave it at that. Later that day I noticed my windshield wiper sprayers suddenly werent working, I looked under the hood and the hose seemed to be perfectly sliced in half. It was pretty evident that it wasnt a tear or a natural split. Theres no way to prove who did it unfortunately, all I can say is up until Id taken it in, my sprayers worked perfectly.

I called 3 different times on Tuesday Sept. 4th for an appointment and all 3 times the phone rang and rang until an automated voice said that no one was available to take my call and then disconnected me. I also submitted an online form for a quote and call back in between my calls in case they were busy. The form stated that they would get back to me within 2 hours. Well two days later and no response back and no appointment made with Midas.I called a different company who was very responsive, received an estimate over the phone and scheduled my appointment all in the matter of minutes.Go somewhere else if you value your time...Update from Midas response: Providing a link to have you contact me again is another waste of time (still no answer from the first form I filled out online). As I said previously, my issue was taken care of by your competitor.

Midas hires sub par mechanics who have no clue as to what they are doing or purposely do not correctly fix any problems. Either way, they are not able to get the job done. A couple months ago I had a steering control arm fixed by them, now when i had just taken it in for an oil change they said i needed my ball joints fixed. Then, i had taken it in for a full check over and they racked up a $2000 bill full of problems, which magically appeared. Now with that control arm, the ball joint should have been replaced. Also, my girlfiend had just taken her vehicle in to get the brakes looked at because the brake pads were obviously worn down. They had told her that it was something else even though she doubted their assessment. They fixed it and she paid for the work to be done only to find out by a different mechanic that her rear brakes were basically about to fall apart. This risked the safety of my family as we had just made a long trip and deeply uspet me. This means that the mechanics at midas are either blind, ignorant, lazy, or plain crooks.

This place sold me tires, which are still under warranty. I went there to have them balance and rotate the tires, which them screwed up somehow, regardless they put a lugnut on crossthreaded, and powered it on with an airgun for sure. Needless to say when i went ahead do do the rotate by myself, i almost instantly broke that lug stud. Went there next day, and Bill the tattooed manager, is basically trying to not fix a 1.25 part.!! He was getting mad, and going out to shop to ask someone else about this. What is so hard about fixing what your employees basically broke?? And to be so rude about it, like i dont know what Im talking about. I have worked on cars for only 32yrs, but what would i know?? Would be happy if his boss actually called back, guess i gotta go up the ladder a little higher. People are gonna be really pissed when all is said and done. Should have just fixed the lugstud!! Way easier. Wont ever go here again, wouldnt even recommend them to my ex- wife!

This midas is a joke dont go there they lie about repairs needed and then dont really do them i was told i needed a new transmission and it would cost $2500 i said no then as i was walking to my car a mechanic there came running out and offered me $200 for scrap to use as a derby car that was the kicker to me i knew they were lying to me i just needed a new condenser and trans fluid due to a leak it cost me $300 from a friends mechanic
