Response to Owner... This pallet of sod sat in the shade of my yard for a week and a half! The Temps were cool and I kept the top of the rolls moist with a fine mist spray as recommended by Christopher in their Scottsdale office. Again.. the product was delivered Dry and Brittle as is the case of the product found at Home Depot and Lowes... They are Anti-Customer Oriented.. Take your chances..West Coast Turf/ Western SodDon’t ever buy from this company! I ordered a pallet of Sod from Scottsdale location. It was delivered Dry as if it were sitting out back on their back lot in the sun for several days, weeks! 5-6 of the pieces fell apart in our hands are we were unloading them. One piece was folded upon itself and was intertwined with the other pieces. The company made good on sending us replacement pieces. They were delivered fresh and green with the annual Rye grass over seed looking fabulous! See Pics..When I contacted the company back for replacement of the rest of the sod, they flat out told me there would be no further replacement! I even offered to purchase another Fresh pallet to hopefully match the new replacement Sod they sent. They told me they would ‘Not’ sell me any further product!I called another Sod producer in the Phoenix area. They told me these were common issue with the company! The referred me over to a local rep. of theirs who came out and did an evaluation of the situation. He said never buys from Western Sod for the same reasons. They are also the prime vendor for Home Depot and Lowes making deliveries to all location in Arizona 3 days a week. Nobody keeps the rolls fresh by occasional spraying with a water mist or keeping lightly covered. They just drop and leave. See enclosed pics..Their Quality Control seems Poor at best and they don’t seem very customer oriented! The main manager there at their California office, Scott seems anti- customer focus.. refer to other reviews.. in particular the poor lady from Casa Grande, AZ and her interaction with him!Proceed with Caution..!!
Do not buy from this company!!! Last July, our old turf was dug up, the ground rototilled to a depth of 12 inches, and then graded in preparation for the new sod. We ordered from West coast Turf, and the sod was beautiful. Since it was in summer, the same grass should have come back this spring. However, that was not the case. Our landscaper and I faithfully fertilized and amply watered this grass watching for the new growth to appear. Sadly, this never happened. I have always had the most beautiful lawn in the neighborhood - this is not the case this year. Nothing but a few old blades of winter grass and mostly bare dirt.In speaking with someone at the company, I was informed that they would not do anything to make this wrong a right. i am just out of luck and thousands of dollars. The reason for the one star is that the sod was great for two months
Great place for sod and great pricing for different quality grasses they sell and grow.
