When I was in a time of need they were the only mechanic in town that offered fast service. While other places told me 2 weeks before they would even look at my car, Garrett Automotive told me it would only be 2 days.They will provide you with updates along the way for what is going with your vehicle and they are very professional. The prices are fair. They’re not too expensive and they’re not too cheap.I feel as if the turn around time to finish my vehicle could’ve been slightly better, but I felt the quality of this fix outweighed the time.I would definitely recommend Garrett Automotive with your vehicle needs! They’re trained and professional.

UPDATE: the owner reached out to me after reading this review and offered to meet with me and make it right. I do feel like he did what was necessary in making it right for me, and he definitely cares about his shop and his customers. So I have increased my rating to reflect that.They are so overpriced. I thought I was getting a good deal on getting my brakes done, but when people heard how much I paid, they were dumbfounded. And this was before the outrageous prices due to shortages. Never coming to this shop again.

An honest Garage!! What a novel concept. You wont go wrong with these guys. The tell you what has to be done and what will need doing soon. Never over billed or snuck an extra charge in on the bill. Straight up and to the point.

They overcharge for extremely cheap parts. They charged me $200 for a used wheel bearing. It went out in less than a year and I got it replaced at a dealership because I was out of state. The dealership charged me significantly less for the new part than what Garrett charged for the used one. Now, the CV axle (which they also replaced) is going bad after a little more than a year. The owner also refused to agree to reimburse me for the wheel bearing even though it was still under warranty.After reading this review the owner reached out to my fiancé and reimbursed us for the wheel bearing. I have increased my rating from a 1 star to 3 stars to reflect that.

Have gone a few times for minor things with no big deal. Had a hybrid with some VERY unique and strange problems. Was most impressed that I was told I dont know how to exactly fix the problem. I can try, but, it will be expensive and I may not be able to fix it. Could have been taken for a bad ride, but, the HONESTY was very refreshing and appreciated. No matter your field of expertise no one can know everything. Respect for anyone who acknowledges their limitations.

We were traveling through Cartersville yesterday and our van broke down. Gattett Automotive got us in and got us fixed and back on the road very quickly. Truck started smoking on 75. John and his staff stayed after hours and made sure I was back on the road. These folks went above and beyond. Their prices were more than reasonable. I was traveling and my alternator was discharging and it was getting dark. I found them on line. Called and they directed me there. When I got there they were on it within 5min. Everything checked out ok. Thats the way the alternator was supposed to work. I was back on the road 15 minutes later. I thank them. And no charge to me.

We broke down and thought our transmission was fried. A friendly stranger recommended Garretts shop a few blocks away, so we towed our car to them. As soon as our car was off the tow truck the mechanics started taking a look at it and immediately identified the issue. Our transmission was saved, and everything was taken care of quickly. The owners are very friendly and made sure to make themselves available if we had any questions. Were new in town, and were glad to have found a reliable and honest shop!

Really good courteous service and fairly priced repairs. They always take the time to explain things clearly and I have found them to be very good listeners when I have questions to ask. We have been going there for the best part of 10 years now and I have never felt the need to try anywhere else for car repair.

Not so good experience. Saw the ad for 9.95 oil change, should have been a red flag right there. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I tried it out. Only because I couldnt get into the place I ALWAYS go to! So I went to pick my car up and they informed me my oil cap was broken, and it HAD to be changed. So that was an additional 32 bucks. I asked their employee, wouldnt it have been leaking if it was cracked and they said yes it should. Ive never had a leak, never even a problem with my car. So I paid my 45 bucks and left. I really debated leaving a review, because I dont like to bash local businesses, but now I have a small oil leak, hmm so strange. Kind of weird since I just got the change 2 weeks ago and Ive had a slow leak since. Yes I could have went back and told them about it, but why would I do that since Ive had trouble since I went there. Shoppers beware of those deals that are to good to be true, THEY ARE!!!

Jeep broke down, called Garrett Auto (after Google showed great reviews), within the hour it had been towed to the shop and the issue addressed. They ordered the part, fixed it, and were able to get it all done by the end of the day! Super friendly staff and wonderful experience. We have all been to the mechanic who tries to screw us over or is just simply an ass, and I would tell you to head over here to avoid all that! Thank you!!!

Ive used these guys a couple of times for oil changes and had no problems until I did. My service before last someone put a synthetic blend in my Camry. The owners manual says that synthetic blends are okay for 5,000 miles but after that a full synthetic has to be put in and if you go too long on the blend it will damage the engine. Anyways, people make mistakes and I dont think theres any engine damage but heres why Im writing a review, I could tell something was up from the second they got my car opened up. I saw them whispering behind the counter and I finally got up and asked what the deal was. All the front desk person would tell me is that there a discrepancy at my last oil change.I got my car back about a half hour later and looked at my invoices for my last few oil changes. Sure enough I saw where they put a synthetic blend. I called and spoke to someone who identified themselves as the manager but Im not sure they actually were. I politely told them that I dont appreciate being lied to and that if they had been open from the start I wouldnt be quite as upset. The associate assured me that there was no engine damage as the synthetic blend can go up to 7500 miles and I told him that I dont think I will be back.I was willing to leave it at that but I had been looking for someone to replace my brakes and rotors based on their previous service assessment and the fact that they wanted $400 per axle. I took my car in to another shop today and they told me that my brakes were perfectly fine, they just needed a little cleaning. The other shop didnt even charge me to clean the brakes.I realize this place has a lot of good reviews and the guy I spoke to on the phone said that they let the person go that was responsible for putting the wrong oil in my car. At this point theyve violated my trust and I really dont believe anything they say. Please be cautious when using these people.

When I first moved to Cartersville and was looking for a mechanic, a friend who raced cars, mentioned that Garrets was the only shop that he would let touch his cars. That was all I needed to hear. Our decade relationship with Garretts has proven that advice as my trusted source for auto advice and repairs.

I have a 2009 Buick Enclave and it was having an issue with sputtering and bucking when going up a hill when I was driving 55 to 60 miles an hour. I have had this vehicle for over five years and I have had this issue two times before. Each time is was a bad coil, the first time it happened it was coil #1 that was the culprit and the second time was coil #5. I took it to Garretts and explained to them that Ive had this issue twice before, showed them the paperwork from the repairs that were done before, and told them to check the coils. They called me back the next day and said it was a broken motor mount that was causing my issue and that there was nothing wrong with the electrical system. They replaced the motor mount which cost over $300 and when I took the Enclave out on the road, it started sputtering and bucking on hills. I then took the vehicle to Matthews Garage and they found bad coils. They replaced the coils and the Enclave is running like new now. I would not recommend taking your vehicle here because they do not listen to the customer. I told them what was wrong with it when i took it and they acted like they didnt really want to hear what I was telling them. They completely ignored the fact that Ive had this same issue two times before.

They corrected all the issues and charged me what I thought to be a very reasonable amount. The people who run the shop are very friendly and not rushed or pushy. I would definitely recommend this location for your auto repair needs! Im sorry that Im just now finding a reliable and honest mechanic in the area when Im just about to move across the country. This is hands down the best business. And it is run by some of the most compassionate people! They helped me and my son when my tire got flat and I could not be more thankful!!

My insurance company paid Garrett over 12 thousand dollars to fix my f350. It was never the same. A year later it is a total loss and Garrett would not stand behind the work. RUN from this company. I have had several people who since reviewed the truck and the case tell me to sue. Truck went exactly 15000 miles after all that work and I am having to pay off the $8,000 balance because Insurance can no longer cover it. It is sitting on my farm doing nothing while I pay down $500 a month. He told Allstate he would stand behind it for life and then he wouldnt even stand behind it for a year. I think hes a crook

Great Service! Our car broke down north of Atlanta while on a long trip to Cartersville. Desperate to find a good honest mechanic away from home we saw Garrett’s many reviews with a 4.9 star rating. That rating is well deserved! We had the car towed there. They quickly diagnosed the problem and we had our car back in a day.

My heater core was leaking I went their to get it repaired because the one in Kennsaw they had closed thats where they replaced it before 1 year ago . They checked it out and said they needed to run some tests on it that I should have the radiator and the water pump also replaced it would be about 2100 dollars. I did not let them repair it.I went to another shop had it repaired for 400 dollars running great.

These guys are the absolute best. The front staff is as friendly as can be and the mechanics always look out for the customer. I called this morning to get my wife an appt for an oil change and decided to ask about a stripped bolt in the front brake caliper last time I changed the brakes. Not only did they take a look at it for me, they also went ahead and fixed the problem. This business goes above and beyond for the customer and they will continue to be my go-to for any car related troubles I have.

We had to get off the highway, while on our way to Florida, because our check engine light came on and the car started stopping at red lights and getting choked up. We found Garretts Automotove shop on Yelp, and thank goodness we did. We received the kind of service everyone hopes for, when having unexpected car trouble. We were out in little time. The guys found the most cost effective way for us to fix the engine coils, and didnt even charge us what most shops would. What a great experience!

I brought my 24 year old Mustang Cobra in to get my front suspension and steering components updated and the job was well done.

Excellent experience. Had a transmission solenoid go out. My vehicle was diagnosed quickly and repaired just as quick.

I cannot thank garrett automotive enough for all the help and repairs on my old truck. I cannot work on my own stuff anymore but they never fail to impress me everytime I have to bring something in.

Rip off central. They know what they are doing, I give them that. But they charged me 1295.00 for a Injection Drive Module for my 1997 f350 diesel. The truck broke down and i had no scanner and it was 70 miles from home or i could have fixed it myself. The IDM from Ford is 595..they charged 812 for the part. 225 dollar diesel diagnostics fee and God knows how much in labor for 4 bolts and 2 plugs on the inner fender. Waste of 695 dollars.

Love the mechanics there they will get you in and out even if they are really busy good quality work and reasonable prices . I will continue to take my cars there .

Chris was great - I called this morning with a check engine light that was related either to transmission issues or the spark plugs. Chris was able to see me immediately, took the car for a quick spin around the block, then ran diagnostics on my 2010 VW CC Sport. He let me know it was an issue with the spark plug on cylinder #2 and was able to replace all of the spark plugs for a full tune up in less than an hour.Chris is knowledgeable, professional and very considerate. Id highly recommend Garrett Automotive (Chris runs the location in Cartersville)!

I was coming to visit my mother. I drive about 2 hours & my low tire light came on. I stop at the nearest gas station. & I realized there was a tear in my tire. I’m not really familiar with places around here but I stopped here. Although, they didn’t have a tire for me they helped me find a place that had one for me. So, I didn’t have to get me car towed to the place the gave me a temporary spare tire to get me there. I’m so thankful for them because I didn’t know what to do & most of the places were closed.
