He does beautiful, quality custom work and is affordable for the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that his team provides to his loyal clients. I had my custom engagement ring built from scratch there and it turned out amazing. We also bought and had our wedding bands engraved there as well, and we couldnt be happier!

I had Gems of La Costa design a setting for my Tourmaline. They created a perfect piece of jewelry that reflected my wish to showcase the stone. The cost was truly competitive. The diamonds they used were beautiful. They had a vast inventory of gems to augment the Tourmaline. The staff was extremely helpful without being pushy. They sought my approval on every step of the project. I will definitely go back to them to design and set other pieces. I was also impressed with their selection of finished jewelry.

I purchased a stunning blue diamond from Gems of La Costa. Then they were able to help me bring my vision to reality in the creation of a jaw-dropping ring to showcase the stone. Ewa was amazing taking me through each design details and rendering the ring in CAD. And Peters bench work was absolute perfection - along with his design input. Chad and Steve were nice enough to allow me to drag them into the process, as well. Ive hardly taken my new ring off since its dramatic unveiling. And Ive already purchased another diamond from them and finalized details for another customer piece - a pendant this time. They have a life-long fan and customer!

Gems of La Costa worked with me closely to custom design a gorgeous and very special pendant for me and my 2 sisters. They used sapphires from 2 pins that were from our mother. Gems of La Costa is where Ive brought all of my jewelry for repair and cleaning for years. The cost has always been reasonable and the service could not be any better. Everyone there is so kind and considerate.They are also extremely helpful when looking at jewelry to potentially purchase. They are very knowledgeable and have a stunning collection. They have markdowns and sales that just cant be beat. Last time I was in so much jewelry was 50% off. Its a small storefront, but packed with treasures waiting to go home with you!

Most recently, my fiancee and I showed up during the recent pandemic, as we were intending on a live webcast wedding and needed bands quickly. I was recommended to this establishment by my neighbor and I cant thank him enough! Im glad we have a great Jeweler in our community!My fiancée and I needed to get her ring sized down. We originally thought by only 1 size but found out it needed to go 1.5 down. We were hesitant as weve done research prior and thought the ring could only be sized up/down by 1 max. Steve was super helpful and knowledgable giving us confidence that by going down 1.5 will make it a perfect fit.They have 4 goldsmiths working here, so you dont need to worry about getting your ring shipped somewhere else to get it fixed. This is what we were hoping for as well.What supposed to have been a week to get the ring taken care of ended up just taking one day!! If I could give Gems of La Costa a higher rating, I would. My fiancé and I had the best experience working with Steve and the whole team when creating my dream engagement ring.We originally went in there for my fiancé but ended up designing the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. Everything from picking the center stone, to designing the band size and design, I got to create the ring I have always wanted.So here is a run down of my experience:When first going in, they were not pushy like 99.9% of Jewelry store. They welcomed you, asked if you had any questions, and let you roam without feeling any type of pressure to buy. Most jewelry stores I went too, I felt like I was being watched like a hawk and not able to really enjoy looking at what they had to offer. Gems of La Costa made me feel welcomed and gave me to freedom to look around without feel pressure to buy.We then asked Steve (literally the MVP/best jeweler ever) for help with my fiancé and his ring size. He went above and beyond, making sure we tried EVERY option he had so we knew what size and width he would like.Me being the person I am, I asked to try on a few rings for myself. I asked if he had different sizes/ shape diamonds for me to try on, just to see what I liked best on my hand. Steve came through once again and had every type of diamond shape and size for me to see. He spent so much time with us, answering any question I had. I tried on so many different ones and he was so patient with me. I truly felt like he cared and wanted to make sure I knew what I liked.Again, not know how this whole thing works, I found out that jewelry store work with specific companies who sell diamonds separate from the ring and you order the diamond through that company. So Steve went on the website and gave us different options in different price ranges and told us which ever ones we were interested in, let him know and he will order them for me to try on. We ordered a couple and when they came in we went in to try them on and I found the PERFECT one.He then explained to us how we could either customize my ring there or order and band and head that they would weld together. We chose to customize it and it was the best decision we ever made. Not only was it exciting because the idea of creating my own ring that no one will have is amazing. But the process was something I had never heard of before. They have specific technology at their store where they create a 3D rendering of what your ring will look like and print it using a 3D printer, then you can see what it’s going to look like before they create the actual ring.Ewa, the one who you work with during this process, was the best! I wrote her so many emails, sent her so many pictures, and she was so kind and patient, making sure I got exactly what I wanted. She is a master of her craft, and I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to create my ring. She is a GEM!When I went in there to see the 3D rendering, I was blown away! It was everything I had wanted and more!!From there, it was in Steve and my fiancé’s hands! They created my dream ring and when I finally saw the final product, it was better than I ever expected. They literally took the vision I had in my head and made it come to life.While I didn’t work with them directly, Chad and the rest of the team were incredible as well. Not only is he one of the best in his field (I’m not kidding, he’s won so many awards and been honored for his work) he had the years of experience that make you feel confident that he is going to give you what you want. Everyone in that store is so invested in giving you your dream piece of jewelry and they will go above and beyond to do so.I could not recommend Gems of La Costa more. Wow! We are SO HAPPY with my newly designed engagement ring! Dale brings many years of expertise to the experience of creating something unique. We didnt initially think we were candidates for designing our own ring, but in the end I recommend all couples consider this option with Dale and Peter. With Dales education and guidance, we really understand what we purchased and in the end, have better quality diamonds with a ring designed exactly as we want for about the same price as the local warehouse. We felt special, but it was because they care and because of their attention to detail and personal service. The ring is stunning and again, designed just for me and my finger - its amazing! My fiancée and I visited Gems of La Costa while searching for an engagement ring because of the good Yelp reviews. We certainly werent let down. We visited several local and corporate jewelers during our search. Not a single one even closely compared to the level of service Gems of La Costa provided.Before we even declared our intent to purchase through GoLC, they went above and beyond in educating us about diamond selection, teaching us how to inspect diamonds, and then ordering several diamonds so that we could see the differences between them. Its funny looking back now on how we thought we knew all about diamonds and what we wanted because of everything we had Googled. They showed us that we were pretty mistaken and had the patience to enlighten us about diamonds in general and then hold our hand through the process of finding the one best for us.We honestly ended up with the most stunning diamond we could possibly get for our price range. My fiancée is beyond happy. It can be a frightening experience because youre buying something that she is going to have FOREVER, so Im just thrilled that she loves it and is proud to wear it and show it off. I really have Peter and GoLC to thank for that.After diamond selection, we had a ring custom made at GoLC as well. After providing some ideas of what we liked from Pinterest and such, they created photoshopped images of what the diamond would look like in those settings (they actually use a lot of technology in the whole customization process, its pretty impressive). Peter, one of the associates as GoLC, then went ahead with the design work. At this point, my fiancée was completely in the dark about how the ring would turn out, and so was I, we left it up to Peter.The result was absolutely magnificent. Well crafted, sturdy (we got a fairly large diamond and its seated very well) yet elegant. Peter did amazing work and we would honestly recommend him to anyone looking for a custom engagement ring.Overall, the entire experience with Peter, and Gems of La Costa was 5 star. The customer service, the purchasing process, and the resulting product are all exceptional. We will be using GoLC for our bands and any future jewelry work. We are seriously that happy with our experience and would recommend Gems

I dont usually rate companies or write reviews, but I was SO inspired by the customer service and level of quality that Gems of La Costa provided, I couldnt resist. I had a dangling an arm cuff that needed to be tightened and was wondering if my job would be too small for such a fine jeweler. Not only did Francesca and Peter make me feel that no job was too small for them, they fixed my jewelry on the spot! And, while I waited for Peter to remove the links from my arm piece, Francesca gave my wedding ring a complimentary cleaning! My experience at Gems of La Costa could not have been better. Their customer service is impeccable. I will be going to them with all of my future jewelry needs.

Lousy customer service. We were shopping for a birthday gift but were totally ignored by the staff.Some guy walked in 5 minutes after us and got helped immediately. Thats ok. Plenty of other jewelers to buy my birthday gift from.

When I realized that my wedding rings were about to fall off due to weight loss I panicked and drove immediately to the nearest jewelry store, which was Gems of la Costa in Carlsbad.As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile by the owner, Dale. I told him about my ring situation and he busted out his sizing rings and got to work. He gave me his undivided attention throughout the process.He asked me if I was planning on having my rings soldered together because that would change how they would resize the rings. I told him to go ahead and make them one.Dales wife, Linda, whos a doll, rang me up and took down my contact info. The price was very reasonable. A day later she called to tell me that my CZ had a crack in it and wanted to know if Id like it replaced. I said sure.I got my rings back in a flash. And not only do they fit perfectly, they look absolutely fabulous! They clearly underwent a thorough cleaning. I keep staring at my ring finger. Im enamored with all the sparkliness!
