They sold our son his first car a brand new 2016 Dodge Challenger and now in 2021 he had a problem with his headlights not working. They told him that the wiring harness malfunction was due to after market headlights being installed. The headlights have never been replaced ever what they say caused the problem is what was installed at the factory or done by Bob Baker Dodge before the car was purchased. Our son had to end up paying over $300 for the damage that was done due to no fault of his own... Im not sure if its a common practice for them to pass along this type of repair to young unsuspecting African American kids but I purchased my very first car from Bob Baker VW 30 years ago after this my family will never purchase a car from the Bob Baker auto group again and I dont recommend anyone else do so either! By the way... those after market headlights were left in the boxes of what was used in the repair when he picked his car up... they said Phillips on them! Google this problem and youll see what other people are saying about this... its not an isolated issue!!!

Went on Sunday for Honda car and negotiated on the price and verbally confirmed the final price, got finance approval on Monday and then called to confirm and the options contract, but they increased the price to original price and not to negotiated price. Trying to call couple of times and they hang up the phone without any response. Never ever will go to this dealership again. Can’t give rating as zero, so giving as one.

All of the Bob Baker Auto Group dealerships are a bunch of crooks and heres why they have these things called a KARR device to the cars not only does this item ruin the wiring harness on the car they also charge you a lot of money for this device and it does absolutely no good at all all it does is take a lot of money out of your pocket and possibly the car catching on fire when this device is added you dont believe me folks look online about how KARR devices catch cars on fire the bottom line here dont buy a car that has that Karr device on any car you buy.

I stopped going to Bob Baker Subaru years ago because the employees were not interested in me and service was not professionally provided.This was the second Air Bag recall and I was required to use a dealer for the repair.I called Bob Baker and I was connected to a female to set an appointment. She gave me the options. I chose one and asked if she could send me a reminder. She asked for my email address. For the third time I gave her my email address. She was abrupt and abruptly said she would send the reminder. It never came.I didnt get her name.On the day I think was the right day, I took the car to the dealer. Zach Lenfesty was the gentleman who quickly told me how long the repair would take. The first repair started the same way and 3 days later it ended. Zach gave me the paperwork for Enterprise car rental. He told me the repair would take 1 to 3 days.The next day Zach called and told me the repair was complete.I returned to the dealerZach handed me the final paperwork and told me where to wait for my car. Zachary was very polite and professional.My car was driven to where Zach said it would. The car was clean. The man who delivered the car asked me to be patient while he disinfected the drivers side of the car.When I asked Zach if there was going to be a third repair, he smiled and explained what caused the second repair and why a third shouldnt happen.Zach, the mechanics, and the cleaning people were excellent. The telephone woman was a Bob Baker relic.

I purchased a used Pacifica Hybrid here a couple weeks ago. As I was looking at the car I was told it was a great deal- it got great MPG, it was certified (which was surprising since it didn’t say it on the sticker) it had a great warranty, and when I asked about the headphones coming with the dvd screens in the back I was told yes. It was more than I wanted to spend on the car, but it had almost everything I wanted. Come to find out when it came time to do paperwork the salesperson was mistaken and since it was a hybrid, it wasn’t certified and the warranty was already up. I had a panic attack in the dealership- embarrassing I know, but I was overwhelmed. I should have gotten up and left, but I signed on the dotted line anyways because my kids loved it and it would be great for our family. When it came to drive off in the car and there are no headphones or remotes. All of a sudden it’s a used car and what comes with it is what’s sold. He offered to find me some and would call me. I drove off. He called me back and let me know that he found one remote and one set of headphones and I could have them if they worked and that a new set could also be ordered at my expense. I called back and I asked for a new set to be ordered at the dealers expense and was told no since it was a used car and that he also said he never told me they were included- which was a lie. Of course I’m getting upset, because I made a big purchase with the assumption I wouldn’t have to spend another $100+ dollars on something I was told I was getting, and he pretty much told me we are at an impasse because it’s his word against mine. Umm ok, so rude. Also, the Pacifica Hybrid is only getting 20MPG versus the advertised 30MPG- and that’s with no AC on and city driving. This is not my first hybrid, and to say I’m disappointed with this is an understatement.Needless to say I DO NOT recommend going to this dealership nor getting a Pacifica Hybrid if you want anything close to the advertised MPG.

The Bob Baker Subaru in Carlsbad salesman didnt want to fix the chip in the window. I mentioned it to him, he said he will fix it, but after the paperwork was signed he contested that I knew the condition of the car when I signed my paperwork. I had to argue with him for approx 3 minutes. Also, I purchased the tracking system and to find out 3 days later it had not been activated. To compensate for my time the manager offered a free tank of gas. I just have to stop by when Im in the neighborhood. Too bad I live a half tank of gas away. Wont be back to Baker auto group ever again.

If you take your car in for service, be sure to check that they do everything they say theyre going to do. All 3 times Ive taken my car in for an oil change and/or brake inspection, theyve either forgot to do the inspection or top off fluids. And if you get an estimate, take it to another place and see if theyve given you a fair price. I havent had very good experiences with them. Which is disappointing because I love Subaru and I was really hoping that the service would be as good as the cars they sell.

Rating for new Subaru car sales only. Mostly patient and intelligent new car sales staff, including multiple weekend daytime test drives during multiple visits to the dealership. Good price negotiation but they would not meet a better written price quote from another dealer. They and I spent considerable time on a sale they ultimately did not make. Would return again next time to see if they would do better on price.

Had my window repaired here. Their service department is terrible. Called in 3 times to pick up car. First time window wouldn’t go down locally. Second time it only partially went down. Do people not check their work anymore? They said they would waive my deductible and “Make it right.” When I arrived the manager told me to pay the deductible or they wouldn’t release it. Car now seems to run worse. Took it straight to a private mechanic. This Veteran will never go here again. Stay away, you’ve been warned.

I will give them 5 stars and here is why. I am what you would call a garage Mazda mechanic. I hate tracing electrical issues but they were able to solve it with devices only available from Mazda. Thank you Gary and Anthony. It took over 2 weeks to trace the electrical issue to come to a solution. I wasnt in a rush.Anthony...high class customer service. He is the image every dealership and service station needs to know everything is good to work out and the communicator you need that keeps you up to date frequently of the process. From start to finish, his customer service was outstanding.Gary...he was honest and didnt give me any BS and if I knew he was or trying to, I would have told him who he was talking to but it wasnt needed. Gary spoke to me on the phone as well and we were able to go into details about the progress of the diagnostic assessment and the good and bad along the way. When I arrive, I meet Gary because one...I had to shake his hand and say thank you and 2...I want to know ask him questions based on the notes he would have written on the service document.i am tempted to purchase my CX9 from here just because of them. I always turned down a dealership in NYC. i remember this location so all my Mazda family. I have 4 vehicles from Mazda.

Very poor experience with service department. Service writer had very poor attitude and poor knowledge of TSB. No courtesy vehicles or car rentals offered/ allowed. Service writer called me 7 days later to state that they dont have the part and neither does Dodge. Wanted to speak to manager but was road blocked by service writer saying that he want there and that he would say the same thing. Had to contact Dodge headquarters to get a case started. So disappointed with Bob Baker Dodge.

Greeted by angry salesman who said service is closed. I replied that we called and it was open until 12 am. He said wait here I will straighten this out. After observing several customers go in and out of service and multiple technicians walking around we decided to ignore the grumpy salesman. If the first person your greeted by is unhelpful, unknowing and rude it kind of sets a bad tone. I must say the service department was nice and helpful and led us to our vehicle so we could remove some items. Our vehicle is going to be there for several days and we needed a few things

We purchased a used 2015 Subaru Impreza Hatchback here. We were pleased with the purchasing process and we felt that we paid no more than market rate. Its been a few months and weve driven many thousands of miles without issue.We returned a month after purchasing for our SmartShield application. The application was completed around 4:50pm and when we came to pick up the car at 5:50pm, the entire service department had gone home. Luckily, Robert the Sales Manager was very helpful in finding our keys. This pickup process was unfortunately very stressful.We also later received a call from the dealership informing us wed need to get a smog, despite the smog being paid for during the initial purchase. Unfortunately, we dont live close to the dealership and bringing our car back to the dealer is a major hassle. After much haggling, the dealer promised to reimburse us for a smog. This fiasco should have never happened.In all, we were pleased with our purchase, but dealing with the dealer afterwards has been less-than-optimal.

I have had my car serviced here many times over the past 11 years, and my family has bought 2 new and one used car here. As for the Service Dept. I can say it is absolutely first rate. On 2 occasions I thought I had a serious and expensive issue, yet after a quick examination and adjustment, problem solved with no charge.My son bought a 2 year old 2006 Jetta with 30,000 miles and 155,000 miles later, its still going strong. Thats 185,000 miles! The Used Car Dept is exceptional, offering quality cars and reasonable prices.But I can only speak for Bob Baker VW/Subaru Carlsbad.

Now I have a huge issue with some random employee getting into my car and moving it without a service request or authorization from the owner. Then left my car on and walked away..that pissed me off... you do not get into someone else car with no request for repairs and move it. When I first got their I had a truck out front waiting for me to test drive and was supposed to work with Michelle. Unfortunately, she had already left for the day. I then have to work with Marcus. Marcus was probably the rudest sales person that I have every had the opportunity to work with. First, he was finishing up with a deal and got called back to the finance and we said hey go ahead and take care of what you needed we are not going any where and let you finish up your deal. This was not a problem for us as we had time. However, after he got back with us we was going to get our truck appraised and he stated that this 2016 Ram 2500 4x4 manual transmission is not going to sell. I said that it will as a lot of Marines are looking for this kind of truck. He argued with me a bit so I said alright then. He takes that information in and said that he needed to track some other person down and I said ok we will wait again. He came back and I was getting my wife and kid ready to go drive the truck that I made an internet inquiry about and he stated why do we need to drive it as it is the same kind of truck just 2 years newer. Another turn off! The truck was a 2018 ram 2500 4x4, but was an automatic which I wanted to drive to see the difference. While we was waiting for him to finish whatever he was doing my wife and looked around the lot some more. We came across a 2018 ram 2500 4x2 and stated can we at least drive that one. He got a little frustrated and said sure. During this whole time I tried to carry a conversation on with him and couldn’t get him to really talk and I was being very polite, but I eventually gave up trying to talk to him. We get back to the office he starts taking down some of my information and I said “your not gonna run my credit are you as I am going to use my own bank to finance?” He said I still will need your social. Second turn off!! Now, he goes back to the finance place and comes back with their offers. Keep in mind that my truck trade in value was between 34,000 and 38,000 according to KBB and NADA. I know that they are just recommendations, but when you only offer 28,000 for my truck and I say that it is worth a little more than that he kinda laughs and states that well we don’t have to do business then. That was my last straw and said “well sorry for wasting your time, but I think were done here!” He said ok and I walked out. As I was putting my wife and kid into the truck he comes out and says hold on my manager is going to call the used car manager to see if we can do anything better. At this point I’m already infuriated with the quality of service that I have received, but I said ok anyways. He comes back out and said thats the best that we can do. I said ok and left. The level of service from MARCUS was absolutely horrible and the way he acted was as if he was too good for us or that he didn’t want to help any white people. Definitely felt discriminated against. I will absolutely tell every Marine that I get and work with that to NOT come to this dealership and explain my circumstances. Most horrible experience that I have every had and will spread the word.
