I had a great experience here! Cosmetics stores usually intimidate me because the workers all usually stink, but the young girl Megan who helped me here was so awesome!! She helped me navigate all of the selections and options. Helped me with color and brush choices. I cant wait to go back!

Today was honestly the worst Sephora experience I ever had. As a frequent makeup buyer that spends A LOT of her money at Sephora (I’m young, and because I don’t have a job yet, that’s most of my money), I get really offended when I step into this location and am immediately flagged down by this older, bigger lady with brown-ish hair and light eyes. It seems like she’s the manager of the place because she’s always there, and I think she oversees the other employees. Any time my sister and I (or just one of us) walk into the store, she looks at us like we’re going to steal something or just acts like we don’t exist. It’s one of the two extremes. She’s very sweet with white women that walk in, but from what I’ve seen in the reviews, she has a pattern of not liking minorities that frequent the store. Either that, or she has some bias against my sister and I? Which is strange, because we always buy makeup there. She is NEVER helpful to us; she’ll ignore and roll her eyes in favor of talking to older white women. Today, when I went to make my first ever return, she gave me the NASTIEST look after I turned down an exchange instead. After that, she followed me with that nasty look through the store. I felt embarrassed and angry, and it’s safe to say I will not be giving them business again.

I went here yesterday to stock up on some makeup and the lady was so rude to me.. like each thing I asked her about makeup she acted so confused and wouldn’t help me. I let it slide and went home. I opened all my makeup when I got home and turns out 2 things were missing from their box! So I went back the next day and they gave me such a hard time trying to replace these products even though their the ones who sold me empty box’s. I wasn’t about to go home with nothing since That would mean I spent $70 on nothing so she eventually gave me a new one and with the rudest attitude she said “here you go you have your way” and walked away lol. I’ve spent so much money at Sephora and for me to be treated this way is stupid.Moral of this story I will never go to this Sephora again, so unorganized, super small and rude employees. I’m going the extra 20 minutes to Twelve oaks mall next time I need makeup, that store always had really nice staff and is always kept so organized! And have I mentioned it’s huge?!? It has everything your looking for. :)

High quality products for reasonable prices & very helpful employees. It was useful to learn that physical gift cards bought at a Sephora inside JC Penny can only be used at the same type of stores. They are not accepted by a stand alone Sephora (like in a mall.)

Im not a fan of this particular store. Its small and both times Ive gone in looking for something specific they havent had what I was looking for. Most recently the guy that was helping me wasnt even familiar with the layout of the store. He had to keep asking another employee. Ulta is my favorite place to shop for makeup and I LOVE their rewards program.

Worst customer service! An employee named Karen, who is probably a manger is lazy, rude and racist. Instead of trying to understand the customers’ needs and help them out, she will actually say “I don’t know what you are talking about.”In addition, this store has a limited collection and is not as clean as other locations.

I walked in to get my girlfriend a birthday present from here. Everything seemed great, until I walked up to the checkout counter. This one lady (forgot her name) was laughing at me and asked, Are you becoming transgender? I was angered by this question, but was not rude to her. I said no and simply explained that I was buying a gift for my girlfriend. The cashier seemed that she didnt believe me or something, because she just kept on laughing and saying more rude comments. After paying my transaction, I angrily grabbed the bag and left, never coming back again. This lady needs to be fired for bullying/teasing a customer.

The worst store. Dirty and never stocked. I dont understand why the store in Canton MI is so ignored since it is the only thing keeping JC Penney Canton afloat. Also there are some really rude staff in there. I wont bother again since having a really bad experience there and can never seem to find anything. Love Sephora in Twelve Oaks Mall Novi.

Rude, racist, reputably disgusting employees. how do you get hired here? do they pick these people from kkk rallies? I couldnt believe what I was hearing- my friend wanted to call the manager- but I asked her to hold off. I do not believe in ever getting in the way of peoples income- because you dont know what people are working for- HOWEVER I do believe in karma- and most of the time disgusting people ruin their lives all on their own.

Employees are just rude, snubby, and sarcastic. I asked The manager (pretty sure she was manager) where the New kat von d stuff was and she told me with an attitude Right there, did you even look??Yeah never spending another dollar here ever again.

The service I experienced at Sephora was excellent. The salesperson gave good information on products and really knew her stuff! Additionally, I brought in a return item I had purchased in France which the U.S. Sephora doesnt carry. I had my receipt (50 Euros) and the salesperson wasnt sure what she could do because she never had a customer bring in a return for a product unique to Europe stores. Instead of declining my return (which would have led me to walk out disappointed), she processed my return and said she would figure out with management later how to handle internally. This made me, the customer, so happy and I proceeded to shop and purchased well over $100 in products. That is how customer service should work and Ulta should learn from them because the service (or lack of) at my local Ulta (Northville) is pathetic.The only reason I dont give this Sephora 5 stars is because they dont carry all the products available at most Sephora stores. The reason, I was told, is that this location is within a JC Penney store which has its own salon and Ulta cant carry the hair products which would compete with the salon.

Rude ass employees refused to offer me any help. Going to Ulta instead. Will not be returning here anytime soon.
