Honest and open dealer, Im glad I was able to stop in and check it out.
Easiest transaction for a vehicle Ive ever had. Answered all my questions and was upfront about the condition and cosmetic issues. Car was shipped and in my driveway within days!
-a little bit of background: I have worked in the automotive world in both a mechanic and sales capacity for almost a decade-I didnt have any of the issues that Ive read about with rude staff. I found everyone at LowMileCars/A1 Auto to be friendly and quick to respond to my messages. The messages were very direct. I could see how some people might take this the wrong way, but I think the answers were sent with good intentions. In my particular situation there was absolutely no room to move on the price, which seems to be a common theme. I would expect to pay what the car is listed at if you want to purchase from this lot.Now normally I would be pretty understanding about this but (and again this is my specific experience) the car I looked at was already considerably over fair market price, and it needed quite a bit of work. Tires were 11 years old and dangerously dry rotted, power steering pump was noisy, the P/S reservoir leaked, there was oil all over the bottom of the motor, the A/C didnt work, the volume for the radio didnt work, the headliner had water damage, the carpet had a water line 4 high. There was a lot that needed to be done and that was only after looking for maybe 15-20 minutes. The biggest thing for me is that it was filthy. The owner knew a few days in advance that I was coming to check it out and it hadnt even been cleaned when I got there. The salesman I was working with mentioned that he could fix the A/C which usually means a recharge. I want to make it abundantly clear to anyone who isnt familiar with cars that 99.9% of the time this will not fix your A/C. The A/C doesnt blow cold because there is either a leak and freon is escaping, or the compressor is bad. Fixing it with a recharge that has stop-leak may temporarily give you A/C, but it will eventually start to blow warm again, and the stop-leak will gum up your A/C compressor over time. The ONLY way to properly fix this is to take it to a shop with A/C equipment, recharge the system with UV dye, find the leak, and replace the gasket or hose thats leaking, or replace the compressor.Overall I would say that if the specific car I had been looking at were priced about $2,000 less than it had been, they wouldve made a sale. These are cheap cars, and the people buying from this kind of lot should expect that repairs will be needed to get the car to a reliable state. The problem is that theyre much too expensive for the amount of money it will take to get them repaired. In conclusion I would say that unless they can find a way to lower their prices, or improve the quality of vehicles theyre bringing in, it would be better to look elsewhere.
Im not sure about all these negative reports!!!! Willy sold me a Toyota Camry 5 years ago. STILL GOT IT. RUNS LIKE A CHAMP. WILLY WAS FAIR AND ACCOMMODATING. THE ENTIRE PROCESS TOOK 2 days. He allowed me to take car home. IM SO CONFIDENT IN WILLY AND A-1 IM GOING THERE MONDAY TO HELP MY NEPHEW FIND A RELIABLE AUTO. THANKS WILLY FOR BEING A STAND UP SALESMAN. BRUCE FOSTER
Junk cars but Willy won’t admit it. He’ll do anything to get as much money as he can. Just go somewhere else it’s not worth it to go here.
Will NOT negotiate on price. Told me the price is the price. What used car salesman says that? Ok bye bye.see ya. Lost a sale.
Great customer service!! Willy was great!! We explained the importance of having a great car at a great price as it was for our Daughter and our 2yr granddaughter who live out of state. We could be more excited about our purchase. We can rest assured that our family will be safe and get a lot of miles out of this car. Thank you again Low Mile Cars!
Best car descriptions and all around pictures. Bought a car without seeing it and they delivered to my door. Perfect experience.
Is taking advantage of people during Covid-19 pandemic. I risked my life and my family’s life for my hard earned money just for it to go to a slick used car dealer. I need a vehicle to get my family from point a to point b and Willie sold me lemon and won’t agree to a refund. Horrible used car dealer and a even more horrible person! Don’t go anywhere near this dealer!
My experience with A1 Auto Sales was very smooth, from the responsiveness of Willie via phone and email, to all employees transparency and willingness to answer any and all questions.Looking at some of the other reviews that are negative, all I can think is that those people werent able to accept the fact that A1 is a low-cost used car seller who is already extremely fair in their pricing; those customers probably still wanted to play the game of used car buying through low-ball offers. Please note that A1, from what I could gather, is already very fair in their asking price, and if you really want to negotiate, do it in a civil manner with an approach that you should both win from the outcome.I hope you decide to support this business because it is so rare to find such a fair and transparent used car seller out there.
I came in because I was really interested in a car they had listed. I had cash in hand ready to buy. We pointed out some issues that the car had, throughout the test drive he was being so defensive. The brakes would shake and he said that it is normal, as well as the car leaking oil, and the airbag and check engine light was nothing major. He had the car listed for $4,000 online and told me that he would not lower the price. The car had some issues but it’s a used car so I offered a reasonable price. I offered $3,500, he got offended. He said if you don’t like the issues why are you wasting my time. He was extremely rude and started yelling at me in front of my son because I told him that he should not treat costumers like this. He got a foot away from my face yelling! Can you believe that. Never have I’ve been to a dealer where it’s been this bad. I should have read the reviews before going there. Trust me avoid this place, the reviews will give you an idea. All of the cars were bad and the place was filthy. Horrible costumer service I would never recommend this place and keep in mind that I was 100% going to buy this car and I drove over an hour to go see the car even with the issues it had because I know how to fix them but just how bad this guy treated us from the get go I simply could not buy anything from this guy. Not even a pencil!
Willy was respectful an persistent on solving a problem with a vehicle purchase, mainly due to the virus, it was a good experience communicating with him
Thank you for letting me drive one of your vehicles with the front end suspension completely broke. Glad my wife and I are safe. Trying to tell me a kid was interested to make me buy the vehicle ha. Wouldnt even come down on price. Didnt even want to listen
Got a great car without any hassle from Willy. They post a lot of pictures with all the details. Wire them the money and my new car showed up at my door 3 days later . (Im 800 miles away) Great cars great people!
Great shop
Wouldn’t recommend this place, the owner sold me a car for more than it was worth knowing it was going to break down on me.
The owner was extremely arrogant and very disrespectful. Would not recommend. not professional whatsoever.
Don’t waste your time with this crook. He’ll take your hard earned money for basically a junk car! Horrible business. If i could i’d give -1 stars.
Horrible use car salesman, sold me a lemon and won’t grant refund! Don’t buy anything from this place. Willie, the owner, will lie to your face and sell you a junk car. Took my hard earned money!
Bought a car here in January. Sunroof didnt work and after pretending he didnt know, only took $150 off price even though it will cost about $300 to repair. Got a few blocks away after purchasing and check engine light came on. Took it back and they told me it was just a sensor. They fixed/cleared the error code and told me all was good. Got half way home ( a 5 hour drive) and check engine light came on again. Called dealership and they sent me some cheap sensors that cost me $65 to have changed and turns out it isnt the sensors, its the catalytic converter, which the dealership will do nothing about unless I drive it all the way back to Chicago from down State and pay to stay overnight in a hotel so they can look at it. Oh and by the way, they told me CD player worked and guess what, it doesnt. Please reconsider purchasing a vehicle from these people if you are thinking about it. Response to dealers response: The inexspensive used car cost over $8,000, I dont recall being offered a warranty, and if its such a common quirk then why werent you more upfront about it?Ive had three mechanics look at it and they all say catalytic converter is bad.
Ive bought 3 cars here, one each for my mother-in-law, my daughter, and my son; the cars are a Nissan Altima, Honda Civic, and a Toyota Camry. The cars and my beloved relatives are all well and good.WHY did I buy here... repeatedly? I did because he appropriately and accurately represented his company, the cars, and himself. This is not your usual used car place and the owner, Willy, is not the typical used car sales person. Most cars there will run 200K miles. They are not prepped to look new or shiney- what you see is what you buy, the price is what you pay, and you are treated with respect. If someone imagines they are going to get a deal of a lifetime, has a hard time with no I dont run my business that way, or believes that being a buyer means privilege, this is not your place to buy a used car. What I did was told the owner my situation and asked him if he could help me. I asked him why he chose the the car he recommended. He told me- upfront, a few short sentences. Then I decided how upfront I thought he was. I didnt go in telling him what car I wanted to buy or imagining what that car would be.This is business. Dont make it more or less than it is.
If it was a way to give no stars, or even negative, I would do so for this “business”. Whatever you do, DONT waste your time with this place. The owner is arrogant, rude, and vindictive. He made the already stressful situation of purchasing a car even worse with his pettiness. There’s a ton of other places to go for used cars and this place ain’t it!
Bought third car in 5 years from this place, less than a month ago. Professional and friendly staff. Always my first choice when looking for a car.
Looking for a car for my son. Low pressure good inventory.
Bought a low mileage Camry a couple of weeks ago. Great car at a great price. Willy was super nice and very helpful. I would buy another car from him.
Beware! do not buy a vehicle from these folks, they are rude& very unprofessional. I call them on 12/7/2017 about an ad I saw on Craigslist 4 an 1994 Toyota Camry& ask them could I take the vehicle 2 an local Toyota dealer 4 inspection before I spend my $1800 buying the vehicle& I got nothing but straight attitude. Like I am just to purpose 2 take your word that the car is in good running condition. Couldnt even tell how many owners the vehicle have had previously, let alone have an carfax report on the vehicle. Dont waste your time with this sorry ass of a dealership! I will also be calling the better business bureau& IL secretary of state reporting they ass!!!
I can rate this place 100%COLLIN and GERALD couldnt be more helpful and so friendlymy vehicle is in very good condition and I recommend friends and family if they are looking to buy a newest car
Low Miles...High Prices....I did a thorough inspection of 2 vehicles and found a decent amount of issues. I brought it up and offered him a reasonable amount to which he denied and kept his price and couldnt be reasoned with.
Great People - Pleasure to do business with. We worked everything out Willie is Great
Honestly, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If anyone is interested, please let me know and I can share the nasty emails with you. In a summary, they were rude, resorted to personal attacks, and all in writing. With so many places to shop for vehicles, please consider any place but here.
Was a wonderful experience. I wish it had a sign from the Street.
Did business with a nice gentleman there.
No customer service! Don’t waste your time.
Lots of flaws. Had to put a lot of $$ into it.ok now
They got really good deals.
Nice people to deal with
Bad business
