We are members of the Jacksonville Freedom Boat Club and this was our third trip to Lake Lanier. We always have had a great experience but I wanted to specifically write a review fo this visit. Sandy handled our reservation personally and communicated with us every step of the way. Mark met us at the dock during checkout and make sure we understood the boat and gave us tip and places to visit on the lake, his knowledge was invaluable! He also make sure we had extra lines and bumper to secure the boat. Mark’s crew also met us during checking back In and two of his employees hustled to the dock to great us as we came in. Again thanks so much to Mark and Sandy for making a great trip outstanding. They definitely go the extra mile when it comes to customer service.
This boat club changed our lives. Kevin, Mark and Sandy are truly some of the most kind and genuine people we have ever meet. Not to mention the rest of the staff. We are greeted by name upon arrival, and we receive top notch customer service EVERY time we come. I have been in the service industry for almost 25 year, Freedom boat club out of lake holiday is the example I use for my employees. Always professional, always there to help, always there to make us and our guest feel special. Had not been on a boat for almost 10 years Kevin and Mark helped us navigate the lake and gave us lots of pro tips to make our time in the lake more enjoyable. There was a comment made about Mark in a previous post, undeniably untrue. Mark is a gentlemen and there to help and serve guests. There has never been a time that we have seen alcohol in ANY of the employees hands. He has never made inappropriate comments towards anyone ever. He has a smile from ear to ear every day even willing to move his truck so we didn’t have to walk from the other parking lot. This is a club of respect and joy, those who take advantage of their kindness and respect should re-evaluate themselves. Best purchase we have made in the last ten years we will be with freedom for the foreseeable future. Please be kind y’all, tip your dock hands and relax on the lake. For those who have been on the fence come check them out and for those who are members we consider you are dock family. It’s been a rough few years let’s not waste more time off the lake and enjoy the blessings we have. And to the individual who is slandering their good name you should be ashamed.God bless and have a great day y’all
We have been members of Freedom Boat Club for 2 years now and all I can say is WOW! the staff is awesome and do all they can to help accommodate the needs of the members. we initially joined to figure out what type of boat we wanted to buy, but quickly realized that this was the way to go. No dockage fees, no maintenance costs, no insurance, no schlepping the boat to the yard after every use, oh yea, and did I mention NO MAINTENANCE cost. we quickly realized that Freedom was the place for us. when we were deciding what club to join, we looked at all 3 on the lake in our area, the staff at Freedom made the decision a no brainer. we have decided not to buy a boat and just be Freedom members. Thank you Sandy, Kevin, Mark, Austin, Reilly, and the rest of the gang, you are greatly appreciated.
Such a lovely experience! Our good friends brought us out on one of the boats and from beginning to end it was amazing. The manager Mark really ensures your are getting a personable experience and everything you need from the minute you walk up. His whole team remembers your name and it really feels like a family. You can immediately tell they don’t play around with safety and all know their way around the boats and lake. Any issues you may have are addressed and taken care of! Such a stress free way to get on the lake!Definitely recommend!
Our entire family and friends love Freedom BC. I have nothing but great things to say about the staff led by Mark at Holiday. We’ve been members for 3 years and have used both facilities, Phil and Mark are fantastic. We use the Holiday location frequently as it’s closer to our house and Mark and company are courteous, professional, and straight up good people. I’m saddened that an “unknown” member would post such a negative review. Such is life nowadays, but we are very happy customers and thank the staff for their hard work and kind nature.
I want the management and owner to know the crew at Holiday Marina on Lake Lanier are the best well trained and fast, friendly and professional crew in the industry . We have had nothing but top notch service with them and it’s always a pleasure to come Freedom Boat Club at Holiday Marina and enjoy the day with no worries. Thanks to all the employees from the dock master to the fuel crew and we look forward to many more visits !
We are boat club members from Fort Pierce Fl. We love visiting other clubs in our travels. Today in Burford Ga. Mark ( mang of this club) was so kind. He took great care of us. The weather was very questionable. I wanted to at least stop by and look at the club. Turns out weather cleared just enough for us to get out for a while. He said he normally would have closed but waited for us. We were traveling all back roads with little or no GPS. It took a while. Thank you Mark and staff for making our visit great
Every time we have gone there with friends the experience has been great. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Mark always goes out of his way to ensure that we are happy.
Huge fan of freedom boat club! The boats are new and the staff is first rate! 👍
My family has been members of Freedom Boat Club for about 6 years now. We absolutely love it!! When we joined our kids were younger (13,18 &19) and finding things to do as a family that everyone can enjoy together can get hard at times. We all enjoy being outdoors, tubing, grilling, camping, etc. What a better thing to add to the list of things to do and not break the bank... boating!! The kids can bring a friend, my husband and I go out for date nights and grab a bite to eat around the lake, and we also can do our “adult day” and enjoy some grown up time with our couple friends. All without breaking the bank. Like I said we’ve been members for over 6 years now and they always have great workers that greet us as we walk onto the dock, help get us on our boat the day, they go over everything about the boat, and we’re off the enjoy the day!! Kevin and Austin are both super friendly and are eager to help us with anything we may need. Either Elam, Austin or Rylie has always been there to greet us when we are coming in for the day with a smile asking “How was your day?” To sum it up... We LOVE Freedom Boat Club!
We love our boat club! Friendly staff, well maintained boat fleet and easy to book reservations.
Initial membership fee is slightly overpriced, but monthly value is definitely higher than purchasing a boat unless you live on the water with your own ramp. Its been a great membership for my family and business.
Excellent. We have been members for several years since we decided to sell our boat and join. We have been very happy. The added bonus is the ability to use other locations when we are on vacation. I strongly recommend.
What used to be a pleasant experience has turned into an ordeal in the last couple years. With the influx of new members, it has become almost impossible to reserve a boat. In the event that I can get a boat, they are prioritizing the turnover, so the boats are often unclean or malfunctioning.
Fantastic deal. Staff is efficient, boats are in great shape & clean. I would highly recommend Holiday Marina location .
Friendly staff and a good time!
FBC at Lake Lanier is simply great! The staff in the front office is always friendly when seeing them on the dock and when calling they are friendly! This makes a huge difference in the experience. The dock hands who get you on/off the boat are great too. They go the extra step to make sure youre taken care of. If you are thinking about a boat or even have a boat already, you should consider Freedom Boat Club.
Keep getting invited from friends who are club members but they can never get a boat. We were wanting to join a boat club and they said go with us. So for four weeks they had been trying to get a boat weeks out and couldn’t but finally when the forecast was storms and an opening came up and we did go it was at 10 am on a Tuesday and they had to have boat back by 2. The boat was malfunctioning and the gauges were not working and the depth finder kept buzzing so loud it was not enjoyable experience. I would definitely try other places we are looking at competitors and our friends still are not having luck with getting boats at reasonable times. When we were leaving the main guy was saying they needed more boats and may be getting them.
Have Been a member for 6 years and loved it. Super convenient to just show up and hop in the boat w no prep. never had to worry about maintaining or fixing a boat. i am not an experienced boater, nor am i mechanically inclined, which is why i didnt want to buy a boat. The Freedom folks taught me to drive and they meet me as i pull into the dock when i am pulling in, which is great for me as an unsure driver.
My family and I have been Freedom members out of a Florida location for the last 3 years. We have vacationed on Lake Lanier the past two summers and used reciprocal privileges at this location. Both visits, Allison and staff have been fantastic. The reservation process was easy and the boats have been great. It’s made a great vacation even better and we will definitely visit again. 5 stars across the board!!!
Freedom Boat Club has to be one of the best investments I have ever made. When my wife and I travel (RV) we typically stay near a Freedom Boat Club. Last week we stayed at Margaritaville Resort on Lake Lanier which is a stone throw away from Freedom Boat Club At Lake Lanier. What an enjoyable few days we had thanks to Mark the manager at Freedom. He runs a tight ship with great dock hands and extremely customer-centric. I cant say enough to explain how well Mark treats his employees and his customers. The boats are all well taken care of and everyone is so friendly I felt like I was in disneyland. Just want to shout out to all FBC folks @ Lake Lanier and say thank you! Youth made our trip a memorable occasion and we appreciated your hospitality... Especially thanks to Mark!Kraus Family (Detroit /St Clair FBC Member)
I am a new member and have nothing but rave reviews. The boats are spotless and well maintained. Kevin has been amazing at educating how to handle the boats. Reservations are seamless and the entire staff is a class act!
By far the best boating experience on Lake Lanier, whether at their Holiday Marina or Bald Ridge location. My teenage sons and I have taken out virtually every kind of boat they offer - hassle free every time. I understand they invested close to $1 millions in new boats for 2017. Incredible. Great boats, great personnel, great experience.
This has truly been the BEST investment ever. I Tell everyone about it so let me tell you. I just finished my 9th summer with Lake Lanier Freedom Boat Club. Think about having a boat, but not having the maintenance or headaches of storing, towing, big enough vehicle to tow, cleaning and ofcourse the upkeep. Freedom Boat Club Lake Lanier takes care of it all. You make your reservation in advance. When you arrive the boat is in the water, you put yourself onto the boat, and when you get back, you walk off. The staff in the office and on the dock is extremely helpful and very friendly. They carry all your stuff and take care of anything you like before you even go out. Every year I see new boats in the inventory. I like that I can take a speed boat one day, and then pontoon or fishing boat the next. I manage my own reservations and I fully take advantage of using one of the other almost 200 locations at-least 3 times a year. The management is better than ever and will always work with you with making boating accommodations. This is a lifetime membership and I for sure use it enough that I well get my moneys worth and then some. I would highly recommend this membership. You will not regret it!
Becoming a Freedom Boat Club member was one of the best things we have done as a family. We were not experienced boaters but the membership allowed us to enjoy boating and Lake Lanier at our own pace. It was always easy to rent a boat on short notice and enjoy a great day on the lake with the kids. The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. The membership allows you to trade up to bigger boats as you gain more experience. We would highly recommend a membership so you can enjoy boating and the lake without the costs of actually owning and maintaining your own boat.
We were members of the Freedom Boat Club for about three years. Over that time I was able to introduce my family to the joy of getting out on the water. As non-boaters, its kinda of intimidating trying to figure out how to buy a boat, maintaining it, and storing it when it wasnt in use. Freedom Boat Club eliminates all that for you. You make a quick phone call, reserve a time slot, and they have the boat ready for you when you arrive. They have lots of different kinds of boats to choose from... anything from ski boats to pontoons to fishing boats... even giant cabin cruisers. When you bring the boat back, the awesome dock hands help you dock the boat, and will even get it filled up for you (although you do pay for the gas). We only left the club because we bought a house on the lake with a dock in our backyard. Even though Freedom Boat Club is awesome, having a boat in your backyard is pretty cool too ;-)I highly recommend the folks at Freedom Boat Club. You will not be disappointed with the club or the service you will receive from their excellent team.
Freedom Boat Club is one of the best investments I have ever made. The staff are awesome from Allison who does the reservations to the dock hands to Phillip who is the Operations Manager. Phillip keeps things running smooth and they always go the extra mile to help meet the needs of the members. I highly recommend this boat club.
We joined this month and love it. Dont have to store a boat at my house or have dock fees. If you are flexible you can easily get a boat at least once a week. The boats are clean and run great. Wife is able to get use out of it when I am working because they teach you how to dock the boat. They will fill it up for you. You just have to pay for the fuel. Its ridiculously convenient.
John, Phillip, Allison and the staff at Freedom has been great. Always friendly and makes the lake experience easy. I had very little experience with boating and now with their help I am able to enjoy tubing with the kids and making lasting memories. Highly recommend Freedom if you are looking to spend time on the lake and don’t want the hassles of owning a boat.
Worry-free boating is for real...not to mention less expensive, less hassle, and 99.9% pure & simple fun! I have always been able to get out on the water whenever I wanted, and upon excellently maintained equipment. The deckhands are all about ensuring you have a safe, enjoyable time while on the water, and even provide any water toys they may have on hand. Very service oriented owner & staff. Well run business. I have been a satisfied member now for over 10 years.
Theres a wide variety of boats to choose from depending on your mood for the day (pontoon, bow rider, deck boats, cabin cruiser, etc.). Boat are well kept and well maintained. Staff is kind and efficient. Reciprocal relationships have worked well. After 3 years, its been a great experience and we really appreciate the simplicity of the program. There is no better way to boat on the lake!
The boats are new and amazing! The service is outstanding! Location is unbeatable. If you want to use boats and do not want to spend 100k or worry about maintenance this is the place. We love Freedom!
The entire staff at Freedom Boat Club in Lake Lanier were extremely hospitable and their boats were all in great condition with many options to choose from. I was very impressed with how well they kept things up and were even nice about allowing us to swap out boats depending on our needs for that particular days boating excursion. I had the luxury of using a reciprocal reservation as my home club is actually in Charleston, SC. I look forward to taking advantage of this membership and visiting again soon. Thanks again!
Professional and very friendly staff.Boats are in excellent maintenance and the club has a continuous program for swapping out older boats with newer boats.Lake Lanier is such a large lake - there is always an available cove to anchor down in and enjoy the day.We highly recommend Freedom Boat Club at Lake Lanier.M&R
We have been members of the Freedom Boat Club for 2 summers now and we absolutely love it! The boats are clean and new and the staff is extremely hard working and respectful.
Each year the club has been getting better and better. Some of the boats have been updated this year. From the office to the dock crew has been the best yet. This year 2013 you get a 5 star. Keep up the great work!
Freedom Boat Club at Lake Lanier is fantastic. John and his staff do a wonderful job. This is an excellent value for anyone who is wanting to spend a lot of time on the water without the hassle of owning a boat.
We have been members at FBC(Lake Lanier) since 2004 and would highly recommend this over owning your own boat. The maintenance fees are much less than it would cost to store or tow a boat yourself. The service at the dock is great. It is so easy to just walk up, put your things on the boat and go. At the end of the day you just pull in the dock, unload your things and thats it. They clean, service and fuel up the boat for you! The reservation system is easy and accommodating. We could not have asked for a better experience.
There is never a boat available. When there is the are broken, and unsanitary. I’ve been a member for years and it has gone down hill badly. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE!! Save your money!
We have loved our membership at Lake Lanier. No surprises and good customer service every time. We were concerned about some of the other reviews we found for franchise locations, but we havent experienced any issues with the Lake Lanier club.
Recently the entire crew at Freedom Boat Club went out of their way to help my brother and I put together a special day in honor of our parents 50th anniversary. Our boat was decorated with banners and balloons along with champagne and a bottle of Crown Royal. John and his crew were more than accommodating and went the extra mile to make my parents feel special. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness. Additionally, a few days prior we had been out on one of the boats, and my earrings fell out of my bag. When we arrived the following day, my earrings were waiting for me in an envelope. I highly recommend the Freedom Boat Club in every respect. What a great group pf people!
Horrible experience. I called up for the reservation and they booked me for 6pm to 8:30pm slot on Saturday for 8adults and 3kids. When I reach there after doing all day preparation, the manager over there say this is a members only club and you need to pay $4000 deposits and $250 monthly to get the boat today. When I tried to ask why did you guys not tell me upfront when I made the reservation that guy said, today I had trainee who might have made this mistake when taking the reservation, I had my parents visiting after a year and I was very excited to take them on a pontoon ride. I understand the rule for member club and would not have done the reservation if I was told upfront about it. Overall very horrible experience.
Love this place! Fantastic staff and willing to help thier customers with anything. Shout out to Kevin, Phillip and Allison.
Great folks, new boats, Profesional grade with awesome customer service. Cost effective boat ownership. Tell them the Locke family recommended them.; -)
FBC is a great way to enjoy boating! Staff and boats are top shelf, and you couldnt wish for a prettier lake so close to Atlanta!
After living in Flowery Branch for nearly 15 years, the boat bug finally bit us. Having a friend who is a member of FBC in the Miami area, I decided to check out FBC Lake Lanier. We were sold very quickly on the concept. After a month of membership, I have to say we have been 100% satisfied, and we look forward to a killer summer (and many beyond) of playing on the lake.
After spending the past year or two on the lake in a friends boat I knew my family was destined to be on the water on a more frequent basis. I reviewed all the pros and cons of boat ownership and finally committed to joining FBC. Financially, this made so much more sense but a big selling point for me was the variety of boats to choose from. I can take the family skiing one day on a ski or deck boat, take my father fishing another day on one of their fishing boats, or bring a couple families out for the day on a pontoon. There are even a couple boats with cabins for my youngest to nap on those long days out on the water. I have only been a member for a short time however these have been the most exciting months for my family in a long time. We are weekend boaters mostly and the kids cant wait to get through the week. Each time we have requested a boat one has been available. The crew at the dock are fantastic and guide you through the intricacies of each boat you choose. This has been one of the best investments my family has made and I look forward to many, many fun years of being part of the FBC family.
I have been a member for many years and have loved it. Have recommended others to the club who have joined and also enjoyed being members. This is one of the biggest no-brainers for people who do not boat every day or every week and dont want the hassels of maintaining their own boat.
My family pays for a boat membership and can never get a boat and they break
This will be our third year with FBC and we totally love the concept and the folks there. We have recommended the club and have visited several other FBC clubs in the South, thanks to our membership at Lanier. It is an awesome concept to have available a newer, clean and fully serviced boat available to just turn the key and enjoy a fabulous lake experience..
We love Freedom Boat Club! The boats are always in good running condition. We like to tube and ski and have never had a boat that would not perform well on the water. Im particularly fond of the Ebb Tide bowlders, but there are also a good variety of Rinker, Starcraft and other deck boats and pontoon boats as well for just putting around. The dock crew has always been courteous and helpful. Weve literally never had a bad experience. We also used their reciprocal program to get a boat while on vacation in South Carolina - an equally quality experience. As a former boat owner, unless you live ON the lake, boat ownership can be more costly and a bigger hassle than its worth. Being in a boat club like Freedom gives you the chance to meet at the marina, go out and have fun in a high quality boat, then let someone else handle the cleanup (and pay for the storage and insurance and maintenance). I recommend them highly.
We moved to Buford Ga. in 2001 and shortly thereafter joined FBC ... all I can say is there is nothing like being on the lake... Grant and his team have been accommodating and professional every step of the way. The club gets new boats every few years, and keeps the boats they have in their inventory in good shape. In all the years weve been members, we have only had 2 times where there was a mechanical problem and in those instances, the problem was taken care of immediately The ability to use my membership at other FBC locations is awesome as we dont have to tow a boat with us when we vacation. Cant wait to get out on the lake this Saturday for our first of many trips this year! Keep up the good work FBC Lake Lanier, and Ill continue to tell my friends about you!
Great club and staff
Joining this club is a no brainer, if you can do the math ( boat payment, insurence, docking/ storage fees, the hassle of towing your boat and putting in on a ramp) youve just answered the question. The customer service is impeccable, availability is excellent even on short notice includng a Saturday. call Allison and she will make it work. Ive used the reciprocal at west palm beach club, they were booked, and she still got me on a boat. The staff are family oriented and are all about boating safety.I have never been overcharged for fuel, Every one of the vessels Ive been on has been cleaned, maintained, and good to go.Mr. Roberge runs a tight ship, his staff is professional and experienced. If you have an issue he will go out of his way to make it right. The other boat clubs on the lake DO NOT COMPARE, Ive done my research. If you can afford it, its well worth the money, and if you use the services it pays for itself.Simply put, To be able to go out on the lake, take the kids tubing, or swimming in one of the many coves on the lake, then dock up and go eat, is everything to me. Asking my wife and kids hey you guys want to go out on the boat today or this weekend? Its living the American Dream.#lakelife#FBC
Ive really enjoyed my time in the club! In addition to boating locally, Ive used the reciprocating aspect to take out boats in Savannah, Ft. Lauderdale, Destin and other places.
Ive owned multiple boats and this is by far the best way to go. Simple call, showup, go play and go home. The boats are always clean and well maintained, with a great variety of boating styles for the type of play were in the mood for. Weve been members for 4 years and and love having access to the lake and boating in style. Id never be able to afford any of the boats in the fleet we have access too! We can camp and get one over night, watch the sunset, play mid week or weekends, bring friends and family, island picnics, swimming, fishing... but my favorites is the water sports, tubing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding and skiing! This is boating made simple, practical and smart! No insurance, trailoring, gassing up, cleaning, taxes, storage or boat payments. Theres not better way to have family time that I can think of.
This is the REAL DEAL on FBC! I joined the club 13 years ago and was the 14th member to join. I have seen the club grow from 4 boats to 30, from 14 members to 150. I have also seen all the pros of the club, and all of the cons. I am one of nine members that is on a committee of current members that meets with management to discuss rule changes, procedure changes, etc. We also are asked from time to time to make recommendations on members that abuse the club and its policies. This has given me great insight into the club and reinforced why I am a member and why the club, although great for me and my family, is not for everyone. (1) Boat Availability- I reserve two to three days out and have not had any issues getting boats. When I do call last minute for boats, I am flexible on the boat and the club has also been very accommodating. When I want to boat, almost without exception, I get out on the water. The one member that was brought to the committee that had complained about boat availability and wanted a full refund had made 44 reservation requests in a four month period and was able to schedule boats for 32 of those request. Im not sure what he did for a living, other than boat, but that type of individual needs to own his own boat. The committee decided for a partial refund. (2) Fuel- I personally have never had an issue and find the refueling policy very convenient and flexible. You can refuel yourself or the dock staff will take the boat to the fuel dock and gas it for you. The marina fuel dock then runs the charges on your card. There have been 3 members that have been brought to the member committee for abuse of refueling. All of the members were gassing the boat themselves, they would put a gallon or two in the boat and then state that the fuel gauge was broken. These members were effectively causing the next member to pay for their gas. When confronted by the committee, two of the members never had another issue, however one became very confrontation and verbally abusive and was ultimately suspended. If you are like this latter individual, please dont join the club because I and the other members dont want to pay for your gas! (3) The Staff-the staff on the dock and in the office are great. They are always very helpful and courteous. They treat my family and guests with respect and make FBC an enjoyable experience. I do not tip, however I treat them with the same pleasant attitude they treat me with. If you are a member of the club, you will see the staff, from dockhand to the owner on a constant basis, and throughout the years I can say that we have all become good friends. I have seen on occasion the behavior of a few members on the dock, frankly I am embarrassed for them. If your mother never taught you how to behave, then this club is not for you. (4) The Boats-all you need to do is go to the dock and see the fleet and that will be enough said! They are all very nice, clean, and for what I pay, worth every penny and then some. I see what some of the major repairs cost the club, $8,000 for an engine, $4,500 for a drive, and am more than happy with the club.
Love the new dock!
Usually decent service and a respectable boat fleet
