Disclaimer: I dont own a membership. The experience was quick and easy to jump on a boat. The docks are well maintained, the boats are in tip top shape. The service was cordial.Overall great experience, but I dont know what the price is. Seems like a better idea than buying a boat, paying slip rental and boat maintenance.
We live in Jacksonville Beach and spent our anniversary weekend on Lake Lanier Island and the Carefree Boat Club made the trip amazing. The boats are beautiful the owner is so friendly and knowledgeable about the area gave us great suggestions on otherthings to do.
We were boating novices. David at Carefree gave us the education/tough love and confidence with learning to drive a variety of boats. The education is what I value most. Carefree has given our family and friends a fun outlet. Its a great way to spend time with our kids and its fun getting to know our kids friends. The new boats will spoil you. Scott L. in Dunwoody
Nice clean dock. Friendly staff. Great boats
Very well run club with only high end, new boats.. great service!
I really enjoyed the article in Pontoon magazine. Impressed by the broad participation of manufactures.
The absolute BEST decision we have ever made! They staff is absolutely amazing. The owner is Very involved and it truly is like a community. We have met some really great people. Also, we get new bots to use every year and even have center consoles for the fall. If you are looking to buy a boat, I would highly recommend that you compare cost and analysis. Carefree takes care of the the hassles. We literally walk to the doc, get on the boat, enjoy the day and walk back off. No cleaning, no gassing it back up, no worries. My husband and I get out on the water frequently. I have not had any issues getting reservations for boats either. AWESOME decision for us.
What an amazing boat club! Weve visited many and this operation is in a league of its own! Top of the line fleet, meticulously cared for boats, and attentive staff! Wish I could give six stars
This boat club has by far the nicest selection of boats to use on Lanier. They also all have big motors. I’m a fan of the pontoons and all of them are at least 250 hp. Everything else I looked at was 150 hp. I can’t recommend this club strongly enough. Also, the boats are regularly swapped out with new models. They’re never more than a year old. Join this club. You won’t regret it. We have thoroughly enjoyed it.
Zero stars from me. If you buy a boat from these people expect NO SERVICE at all. This guy David is MIA he doesnt answer the phone, voicemail is full so you cant leave a message and by some miracle you do get through with text or email you get the run around or excuses. Thanks alot for the quality service.
Great club to join, if your thinking of getting out in the water then this is the boat club for you. The staff is always so helpful and accommodating. Have been a member for a few years now.
CareFree indeed lives up to the name. The service was excellent. The boat that we booked was super clean and very spacious. We had a large group and we never felt like we were tripping over each other. It had plenty of power to zoom us around Lanier with ease. We will definitely be repeat customers. 5 STARS. Highly Recommended!!!
Amazing boat club! Have been a member for 4 years and wouldn’t change a thing. Highly recommend!
If youre looking for a business that truly appreciates your business and lives up to its name Carefree then you have got to check this place out. I rarely take the time to write a review but with outstanding service like this I had too. The boat was flawless, clean and super roomy. Our group has some big guys in it and at no point did we feel crowded. The boat had the perfect amount of power to get us around this monster lake with ease and in comfortable ride. We will be a repeat customer for sure. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
I am new to the club. I thought about for over a year. My only regret I didnt start the membership sooner. I have young kids and the stress free lake life has been great! David and his staff are kind and work hard to accommodate all my needs. David will work very hard to get the boats for me even on the most busiest weekends. He has always came through. Thank you David!
We have been carefree members for 3 years and we love the club! The boats are new and always cleaned and ready. The dock staff is spectacular. Daniel, Matt and Victor are a few of our favorites. We love the club and will continue to be members for a very long time. You can’t beat this boating expertise!! Thank you a David for running an amazing club!!
David placed in a silent auction a month membership to Carefree Boat Club. Most companies would limit your experience but not this club. After winning the silent auction we were super excited to see how the club worked. At this point we are half way through our month and loving every bit of our experience. David and his crew pay attention to every detail to ensure your familys safety. Daniel and the dock crew make every boating trip amazing. Keep in mind this was all for charity and we were still treated like VIPs. That speaks volumes!!
Excellent value for the level of service, condition of boats, and flexibility of use. Have never had a problem reserving a boat, even when calling same day at the spur of the moment (weekends included). All questions have been handled in a timely manner. Couldnt have made a better decision to join.
Ive owned boats since I was a teenager Ive been in the boat clubs twice years ago when my children were all young for the variety of boats water skiing tubing party deck boats Now That Im Older its the no maintenance no cleaning the boats are always ready the dock help the staff is always full of good advice and help in the magic moment at the end of a fun day on the water you pull up to the dock and they tie up the lines and I take my things and walk away and go home and tell everything is taken care of its the best bargain on the water and this is a very good club
I have called 3 times in the past 2 weeks inquiring about boat membership pricing and options. I have left my name and number on the voicemail as well as with a lady at the front desk twice. She told me the man who was in charge of the pricing, etc. would give me a call. I still have not received a call back. It’s unfortunate they do not want to grow their club and provide this service to someone who is very interested.
We enjoyed a day on the lake with the help of Care Free Boats! The staff was attentive and very helpful! The boat was well maintained and very clean! I would highly recommend this place! I’m looking forward to our next family outing!
If I could give this company zero stars then I would. This guy has gave us the run around for over a year now. I purchased a boat from him online from out of state. When we picked up boat, there was damage that was not on pictures. He was supposed to order those parts and some more accessories that we wanted to add and ship to us. After at lease 20 calls and text we finally got some parts but after one year, we still have not received all the parts THAT WE HAVE PAID FOR. It has been one excuse after another. BEWARE!!!!
Dishonest, Deceitful, Inconsistent, Disrespectful, and ultimately not worth the hassle. When they call it carefree, that means that THEY are carefree... not you.Our experience was not all bad, we definitely had some good times... but what you had to put up with in order to get that, just simply wasn’t worth the hassle. They are carefree about what days of the week they will be open (close randomly without notice), what times they will be open, what they charge you for gas (or whose gas they will charge you for), what damages they decide to accuse you of with NO DISCUSSION whatsoever up to $2,500, or with how they treat you as a member. They do put on a good show, I’ll admit it, but once you find out the real deal, who the owner really is, how he conducts his business, how he treats members, and his “yes men” managers that worship his questionable business practices, it’s just not worth getting that kind of negativity in to your fabric, and they have a lot of it. . They have the contract you sign to back it up, they have full control, and even though they are a franchise that promotes and advertises unlimited use, boat when you want, thats NOT what they do here.THEY get to DECIDE what constitutes unlimited use based on what THEY think your average outings per year should look like, for example 25 outings per year constitutes unlimited use... which is one time per week for less than half the year you paid for. Do yourself a huge favor and save yourself the heartache, have an attorney take just 5 minutes to review the contract you sign, if you decide to go with these bozos, Im sure your attorney will tell you to run fast and far. There are plenty of other boat clubs around, check them out instead. Sure the carefree boats are nice and new, but that comes with a bunch of heartache and hassle, its just not worth it. They also have bank draft, which is used for control and manipulation. CHECK your bank account EVERY DAY.There are obviously a lot a great reviews on here, and I don’t discount those a bit, because in the beginning (or if you are a limited user as they prefer) you won’t immediately see the way things are really run. Participate enough, and you will see how it really works. What they really want is members who use the boats INFREQUENTLY. Again, despite the fact that the carefree website claims that you can boat whenever you like as often as you like, that’s just simply not the case. You will be quickly labeled an “excessive user” and they will find a way, one way or another, to push you out, start charging your account for made-up charges, or otherwise make your life miserable.Sign their contract, they got you, and they will get you. It’s just a matter of time.I am the one responsible for my misfortune in trusting carefree to deliver what they promised. I’m the one that signed their stupid one-sided contract that they could in turn use against me. It’s my fault, DONT let it be your fault! Run away fast.
We joined carefree boat this summer. I debated buying a boat, but didnt want the headaches associated with maintenance, cleaning the boat, insurance, etc. Since joining, we have used a variety of boats, and my kids have had a blast. We wouldnt have this choice of boats if we owned one model--We have had nothing but great interactions with everyone at the club- David takes a lot of pride in keeping the boats in top shape. At the start, David gave me an on the water test, essentially a on the water lesson. Despite years of boating, I learned a lot. We also have gone out wake surfing with him.The dock hands are fantastic. Very nice, very helpful, no attitude at all ever. Its nice to pull up our car, get help loading the boat, get help unloading, and back in the car quickly. This doesnt happen with boat ownership, there is something to tinker with always. So far my family is VERY happy as a local lake Lanier boat club member--
Was traveling in the Atl area last week and was able to use my CBC privileges at this location. Great experience, awesome boats available, and an overall well run place. David the owner was there and made sure all was well... Great job guys!!
We are so in love with carefree boat club. Our best friends are members and we are on the lake every weekend. The boats and staff are amazing!! We highly recommend the club to everyone!!
If youre looking for a great way to spend time with your friends and family, without the hassle of cleanup and maintaining a boat, then Carefree Boat Club is for you! I attended their grand opening / ribbon cutting celebration and got to meet Julie Horne, GM and David, Owner. Both were super nice and David even took us for a short boat ride. Lake Lanier is beautiful and the boats that Carefree stocks are top-notch! Plus, your membership can be used at any of their clubs nationwide!
My first year as a member and have to say I have been impressed not only by the quality of the boats available this season - but also the attention to detail by the dock side staff. I especailly appreciate them walking the boat with me and pointing out anything that I might miss on its condition before I leave. Nice touch when I am busy loading the guests and toys. So please keep that up.Long term we are likely going to purchase a boat from David and having a chance to try out the various styles and manufacturers is so valuable. And for any newcomers - those nice 12 ft wide slips make it easy for us novices to look like real pros when returning to dock!So keep up the good work and cant wait to see what the 2017 fleet looks like.
I was very impressed with the variety of new boats members could use. They are readily available every time. David and Jim are always accommodating! Beautiful location at Lazy days marina.
We joined the club about 2 months and have really enjoyed it. The wake surf boats are our favorite but we also enjoy the other boats. Since we joined they have added a couple more boats. The dock staff does a great job helping you on and off the boats. I would highly recommend joing
We have enjoyed carefree boating so much! The staff is always so helpful and courteous and the boats are always in impeccable shape! I can’t say enough good things about the club, staff,, and boats!
Best boats on the lake!
Got to Spend A Great Evening with Friends & Family😍
This is the perfect club for my family. New boats are always being added. What really makes the difference is the staff. Everyone works as a team and are always available and willing to answer questions, provide tutorials, help with checking in and checking out; all with genuine smiles.
We have been members for five years. Love it. No maintence, no repairs. Just reserve the boat and show up.
Where do I begin...Between the staff and the actual vessels themselves, the club is something I wish I had found years ago. I took my family out on a Tritoon with a 250 for an evening cruise. The kids loved it and my wife was overwhelmed with the quality of the boat. As a former boat owner, I can now say that I am Carefree 100%. I plan on learning how to surf this coming Wednesday. Cant wait!!!!
We love the boats and service. It is nice to have staff help you to and from slips. The new covered slips on hot day in south are really really nice and appreciated.
Had a great time with a foreign reservation at the Lake Lanier club. They were accommodating with a last minute change to the schedule and the whole staff from David on down was a pleasure to deal with. I hope to return.
How could you not love it here!? Beautiful place with beautiful boats. Cant wait to go back
OUR EXPERIANCE WAS GREAT AS USUAL!! THIS IS OUR 2ND BOAT FROM THESE GUYS!!DAVID AND STAFF DO A GREAT JOB.WELL WORTH THE DRIVE
Boat rental and tubing were lots of fun.A little expensive so I would only go once or twice a year. Great lake with very nice people everywhere.
Going into our second year as members, and the new boats are even better than last year! This is the best use of our time and money for boating-We can arrive and be headed off for the days fun in just a couple of minutes and ending the day just as quickly. No more working on the boat, cleaning the boat, checking the trailer tires, long lines at the ramp, time. The boats are new, clean, maintained, fueled and ready when you are. We go boating more simply because the hassle factor is so much less. David and the crew make sure everyone gets checked off and practices safe boating.Ever try to sell a used boat? I dont care what you buy, it is never worth what you think it should be when you sell it. With the club, if we want a wake boat, we reserve it. Tomorrow if we want to fish, we can take out the fishing boat. This weekend if you want to have the work colleagues out, get the tri-toon. And all for less than a slip fee and insurance on one boat.
Edit: in response to the owner, since google doesn’t have an option to reply: I spoke to someone at the front entrance of the Marina. He was dressed in a uniform and didn’t come from a golf cart, he was already standing towards the front and approached our car as we drove up.Didnt actually come inside here today. Just stopped by with a friend because we were lost and needed directions and we were immediately treated rudely as soon as we rolled down our window. He (the employee, dont know his name) was grimacing at us the entire time and seemed offended that we were asking for directions. Rude!
We just had a terrible experience at Carefree Boat Club at this location. We will never use them again. We have been a member at another location for three years, which runs beautifully. However, the owner, David, of this location, has no idea how to handle his business. Were additionally informing the corporate office of his behavior and how he treats customers.First, we arrive, and the girl at the Carefree front desk walks me down to the dock and points me in the direction where the dock hands are supposed to be. Im four months pregnant, with three other people with me, and walk the distance to find no one there to assist with the boats. I make the trip back to the front desk where she tells me, ugh, Ill call them. So I walk back and come back to ask when someone will be there to assist. We finally get a dock hand to help, who is already assisting another couple and their 3 dogs exchange boats yet again. They had to return their second boat for the day bc the other two werent working properly.Once we get on our boat, I ask where all the gear is that we need in case were pulled over including the whistle, etc. (This is all customary procedure at our home location) He says, its all under the cushions and he doesnt even think theres a whistle on the boat. I ask if we need to fill out the checklist and sign off (we ALWAYS complete the checklist and sign off before we take the boat at our home location and again upon return), and he says not to complete it and do it on return. He says to return at 8:00p.m.Once we get out on our boat ride, we try to dock and find out that theyve sent us out without any boat ties. So we have nothing to dock with.We returned at 8:00p.m., couldnt dock where we picked up the boat so simply chose a near by slip. (Weve never had an issue with parking our boat at another slip if ours was taken at our home location). Theres no dock hand there to assist, look at the boat, sign off on paperwork, or take the keys. Since we were left without dock ropes, we tied off with the anchor rope, and I took the key to the office. Once arriving at the office, I find its closed and theyve left for the day and theres no key drop. So, in a effort to protect the boat, I left the key in their mailbox.I get a call the following morning from the owner, David, belligerently asking me why I parted in another slip, and why there was chocolate ALL over the boat (a piece of chocolate was dropped at the door and swept out). As hes belligerent on the phone I mentioned there werent any dock ties so we had nothing to tie with. He says they were on the boat, but wouldnt say where when I inquired three times. I had three people looking underneath cushions and seats for dock ties when we had the boat out and there werent any. But hes condescendingly telling me theyre on there and dont worry about it.Then he asks me for my credit card number to pay for the gas. I ask what the cost is, and he said he doesnt know, theyre totaling it now. I said, well call me back when you have a total. He says, thats not how this works, and I said, it is if you want me to give out my credit card information. He says, if youre accusing me of fraud, thats an entirely different story. I say, I havent said a word about fraud, but Im not giving a belligerent person my credit card information without you at giving me a total. He says, I have to make my third trip back down there now to get your total. I said, If you want to talk about whos made three trips to your dock and back, its me whos four months pregnant bc when we arrived your location was completely disorganized. If I were you, I wouldnt bother joining this club unless you want the worst customer service youve ever experienced. Additionally, their boats dont seem to be in top shape if the other customer had to return theirs twice and ours just had its prop replaced.
Love this boat club!! Everyone is amazing and so helpful!
Such a great idea! Simply from experiencing the convenience, value, and practicality of this club via a roommate, I would undoubtedly join this club over buying a boat.
Excellent response to a problem.
What a great place. Super friendly and very knowledgeable.
Top shelf boat club. Excellent quality service and reputation
Been a member for years, great selection of boats. Some of the best money I ever spent
I would highly recommend this place, the boats are like brand new,and very well maintained. The staff is very tentative and friendly.
Great place to access and store your boat on Lake Lanier!
Well Maintained
Great club, Goes out of there way to help with anything needed.
My wife and I have been members for three years now, and we love it!! The one thing that makes this such an enjoyable investment are the boats we get access to. We particularity love the tri-toons. Every year David puts out new ones, which makes it great. These tri-toons are decked out with 250hp motors, touch screen instrument panels and great sound systems. Staff are fantastic people always willing to help inflate the inner tube, load up coolers and help with the check-in and check-out. process. Besides the Tri-Toons his surf boats are top of the line. If you are thinking about joining I would do it. You cant beat the cost and access!!
So much fun! Such a great experience
Back in mid September we joined David for some advanced wakesurfing on the Centurion Ri 237 for purposes of practice and wave setup in preparation for competing in the 2016 World Wakesurf Championships in Ft Lauderdale for my son Jake and wife Sue. Jake competes in Amateur Mens Skim and Sue in Master Womens Surf & Skim. We had a very good session with different wave setups and became much more familiar with Centurion Ri 237 wave. Dave was accommodating with ride time and setups for us to prepare which is so helpful instead of going cold at the event on your first ride. We became familiar with the Carefree Boat Club concept which certainly has appeal for folks that want a boating experience but not the hassle of ownership. Thanks Thanks Thanks
I used an foreign rental at the Lake Lanier Lazy Days location today and had the worst experience I have ever had with Carefree Boat Club. My family and I LOVE our home club in Virginia and have LOVED all of the foreign rentals that we have done in the past. I had a bad feeling about this one though.I am from Richmond, VA and moved to Atlanta about two years ago. When I heard the Lake Lanier location opened, I called and asked if I could do a foreign rental there. They said no. They didnt comply with that corporate policy and only let local members use their boats. They did, however, advertise on their website that joining their club would include foreign rentals at other locations. I felt like this was weird so called the corporate office. They got me a rental and said that all franchises should allow foreign rentals. We had to cancel that time in advance bc of events that came up but I should have taken it as a red flag...Tonight I rented a pontoon boat with the lake Lanier location. The rental was from 2p-6p. The day before the rental, a lady from the local club called and asked for my credit card information so that they could charge for fuel. I gave it to her over the phone...We showed up to Laxyat 145p and the lady at the desk asked us to head down to the dock so that they could pull the boat around for us. Thirty minutes later, the boat was still not there. I called up to the dock and they asked who I was and why I was calling. I explained that we were waiting on the boat as instructed. Then, they made their first call to the dock hand to help drive the boat over to us. It got there at 230p. I asked politely if we could stay out until 630p bc of the 30 min delay on the front end and they said thats fine. Then, I asked how to take the top down and the dock hand showed us how to do it.When we arrived back at the dock, the owner, David, immediately began belligerently yelling at us for being late and for having the top down. He asked me for my credit card info and to sign a document. I asked what the charges would be for since I gave my card for fuel the day before and he said for late return and for labor to put the top back on. We were told both things wereokay at the start. I had 8 in my party and all heard the same. We said we would not pay for anything except gas and he got very angry. We asked if wecould put top back on for him and he said it is too hard. Instead, he offered to call security on us for not signing the documents. We did not understand why we would be charged a late fee after being told a later return would be ok. We did not appreciate his comments about security. We did not appreciate his attempts to charge us a late fee when his team was 30 mids late on the front end and have us permission to stay out longer.STAY CLEAR OF THIS LOCATIONS!!!!!
Beautiful place, great people!
Awesome place
Beautiful setting and perfect service
The staff is super unhelpful and the equipment on the boats (like the nav lights) does not work.
Very helpful and friendly staff.
The best option for a ride in boat!!
Nice, Enjoyed myself
Always good food!
Fun times
Any place but here
Always fun
Good people
