Amazing places like this are becoming a rarity. Making homemade European sausages and various cold cuts. I hope this place stays around for a very long time. Probably the best bacon in buffalo. unique sausages such as Hungarian that you cant find anywhere. Almost all cold cuts and sausage are made in house. Best olive leberkase (olive loaf)and hot pepper leberkase(pepper loaf) ever had in my life. The Bockwurst loaf and krakauer are absolutely amazing. Definitely go check this place out if youre in the old saudages & cold cuts.

This is a must stop when it comes to smoke meats. The salami varieties that Spars offers is amazing. They do alot of in house smoke meats and the quality is very good. They end up running out really fast. People who know about this place, cant help but to get pounds upon pounds of smoke meat delights. Now that you know about this place, get down there and enjoy what I have been eating for a while now.

The best meats ever, especially all the various types of sausage. Every one I have ever tried was absolutely delicious. The people there are wonderful as well. They really know their stuff.

Everything Ive had here has been amazing. I especially like the homemade sauerkraut, kielbasa and kabanosy. They have a ton of different types of sausages from Hungarian to Andouille, and the staff is super friendly.

I was excited to try Spar as I have heard alot about it. I need some meats for the holidays and thought now was the time to try Spar. I understand its very busy this time of year so I left a voicemail. I didnt hear back for a week. I called to ask about pricing and availability and instead I was told I dont know how much is left and was rushed off the phone. I genuinely wanted to try Spar but for now I will avoid it.

Delightful! Quality, old world cured and smoked meats. Bought some if the meat sticks, sausage and bacon. Every bite was heavenly.

The best natural artisan crafted sausages, bologna, bacon, etc. No preservatives, fillers. These people love what they do and you taste it in every bite. Superb.

We recently hosted a German Club dinner at our home in Vermont. The authentic Bavarian Bratwurst I had brought from Spars were a real hit! Made from humanely raised beef and pork from Eric Spars own recipes. Delicious, and well worth the trip to the west side, near Buffalo State College. One of the few remain German butchers in the area.

Always a great place to get your smoked and fresh sausages and meats. And who can pass up the smell of a smoked fiiled room.

My only minor gripe is that they dont have much in the way of beef or chicken, but then again, that would take up precious piggy space. So go here, try something you never even heard of, ya dingus!

The best place for a wide variety European style fresh, smoked, and frozen sausages as well as fresh and lunch meats, local cheeses, and stuff with a Buffalo twist to it as well. I love their weisswurst and their bacon!

Last year one of my close freinds came to Pittsburgh and brought a mess of Spars Sexy Brats (Apricot and cherry) and told me they would change my life. This past weekend I happened to travel to Buffalo NY to visit and I had contacted Spars in advance to see if they had the Sexy brats avalible, as luck would have it they were making them, and set aside my order of a Dozen of them, In addition we picked up some of the Jerk Chicken Sausage, which were out of this world, awesome flavor, didnt need to add anything to them, If you are ever headed to Buffalo and are a fan of great sausage, make sure you bring a cooler and stock up, everything they make is amazing.. ( I have also had the Breakfast Bangers and a few other varieties nothing was bad or lacking in flavor ) GO, NOW, BUY, ENJOY! (Pittsburgh has nothing on par with Spars... Nothing.....)

What can you say about a great place like Spars? I say PLENTY! They get whole hogs from local farms like Kindred Kreek, which they hand-process, smoke, and make some of the finest sausages and cold cuts in the ENTIRE WNY area, not just the City proper. And they do it ALL right on their own premises, which is pretty amazing when you consider if you are driving down Amherst Street near the Church of The Assumption you might very well miss this great place. And if you do happen to miss it, turn around immediately and head into them if you are looking for some of the BEST sausage and cold cuts that will ever cross your lips and grace your stomach. You will NOT want to wear a fine suit in there though, because even though their smokehouse is pretty well sealed off you will come out of there with a faint scent of hardwood smoke. Thats a GOOD thing! Their customer service is very friendly and their sales counter has a true old-fashioned feel to it with such things as laminated take-a-number tags (with cute pig stickers and decorations) to include a notebook on the counter for customers to sign in, draw pigs, or just scribble & doodle while waiting for their clerk to fill their order. They also have a small grocery selection of European products, along with some very tempting chocolates right on the countertop. It is best to bring cash when you go, but they do now accept plastic cards as payment with a $10 minimum. You wont be spending just $10 in there, because once you see all the great things that they have you will walk out with much more than that. I would say come prepared to spend $50-$75 or so, based on your particular tastes. And if you live a ways away bring a cooler with a few ice packs to keep your oinkers cool on your way home. A true gem of the Black Rock neighborhood!
