They are very reasonably priced, hard-working and friendly. I got new tires and an alignment and paid exactly what I was originally quoted. Great overall!

Brought in my car for an alignment and requested custom specs (seems like not too many shops do that anymore) and they got it pretty good, but they said the rear right was stuck so that one tire was still out of whack. I bought and replaced the bolts on both the rears and brought it back in they redid the alignment for free.

I cant say enough good things about this business. Three times they have quickly worked us in to take care of my kids car while at school at SDSU. The most recent was over the Thanksgiving holiday. They rescued us from what could have been a miserable visit. They are reliable, cost effective, and high ranking in their customer service efforts. Awesome people and business!

Im suspicious of those three reviews from a couple months ago. Kind of looks like someone made fake accounts. So lemme explain my experience with them.I moved to Brookings within the last 2 years with a lemon of a rig. It had problem after problem. They were able to figure every one out and give very fair estimates, especially when I did comparisons from other auto services. When I finally had a problem that just cost too much, instead of selling me on fixing the car and just taking the money, they were legit with me and told me you should consider getting a new one.Honest and dependable. My go-to for anything mechanical. The only flaw they have is theyre too busy. But proper planning ahead and theyll treat you right.

My daughter goes to SDSU and is 5 hours from home. Hometown has serviced/repaired her vehicle on several occasions. I can not say enough good things about Tim and Hometown service. Professional, pleasant, efficient and most of all trustworthy.

If Gomer Pyle from the Andy Griffith Show and the Three Stooges started an automotive repair shop they would do a better job than the hooligans at Hometown Services and Tire. Expect the front desk receptionist to not have a clue what is going on. Expect to bring your car back numerous times because the issue wasnt resolved. I would give a negative star rating if it was possible!

If Hometown Tire makes a mistake on their work, dont expect them to follow through and correct it. My car was in their shop 6 times for the same issue (power steering), and they were not able to fix the issue. Then they just GAVE UP. The last time my car was in the shop it was parked there for over a week, and they never even looked at the car once (I guess the owner knew he was having to look at it for free). TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, I was very disappointed. The owner started to YELL at me when I calmly asked why my card hadnt been looked at. He made excuses, excuses I had never heard before, ones that he never bothered to tell me before he was on the ropes.

After a bad experience and quote from the Brookings Auto Mall I took my vehicle here and they were able to repair my vehicle for less than half of what i was quoted elsewhere. Super quick, friendly and kept me informed during the process. Wouldnt hesistate to use again in the futre!
