Alan plumbing and Heating pull debris and assign blame to the ones that seem like a good target, coming back for more problems that should not have even existed.. Expect to pay in the thousands for the damages they happen to assign to you, just for the heck of it?! 0 stars, negative people, very disappointed in the lengths gone to blame an innocent and easy target. I have used them in the past for plumbing and quality is good, but value is horrible. I tried using them to fix the furnace and they installed the wires wrong and I had to call another guy to fix it. I dont think I will ever use them again for anything.

I e-mailed them on Sunday evening they reached out to me on Monday morning. Gave me a rate for the repairs I needed and set an appointment for Tuesday afternoon. Their technician Dan was polite, worked quickly went over the services he performed took a few minutes to show us everything was working properly. He then went over the charges which matched the quote from the office. This is exactly how in home repair should be performed. A pleasant experience Id highly recommend them.

In 2020, a trailer with a kubota dislodged from one of the trucks owned by this company as it was driving down 47th Ave in La Grange, and crashed into our front yard - taking down a concrete street sign, stop sign, and portions of our landscaping. The only reason the front of our home and gas line were not hit was due to a large evergreen that stopped the impact. Luckily, no one was hurt as we always have pedestrians around our house. This review is to reflect the incredibly disappointing lack of compassion and support the owners provided to us as a result. They did not file an insurance claim, likely to protect their own liabilities, so we trusted they would financially reimburse our landscaping fixes (new sod, replace a 6 foot corner bush and numerous hostas/grasses, replace a large hole in our front hedge, and a damaged evergreen needing repair). Not only were they defensive and non-responsive at times, they only offered grass seed as a solution (months later after we fixed the landscaping ourselves). They did not accept the landscaping quotes we went out of our way to provide them, nor did they ever send over their own landscaper to provide a quote as they said they would. Less than a year later, the large evergreen is now showing clear signs of distress at the point of accident and up the tree - leaving us with an expensive repair/replacement of this old, beautiful tree. Not surprisingly, our recent attempts to get support for the tree have been ignored and we are now on a path to sue the business in small claims court. The ethics and accountability of this company are alarming, at best.

Frank was our plumber and we had a difficult faucet issue. We got quoted from another place and it was much more expensive and with a risk that our pipe could break and cause significant complications. We called for a second opinion. Frank mentioned none of these issues, took care of the problem in less than 30 mins, the price was very reasonable, and we were even called and asked if he could come early, which worked great for us. Best service you could ask for.

I have used Power Plumbing for many years. In my old house, they put in a very complex steam boiler in a pretty confined space and did a great job. In my new house, theyve drained backyard flooded areas out to the street and installed underground gas lines to power my generator. Always prompt and courteous I highly recommend their excellent work.

We had an emergency outdoor drainage problem (tree roots blocking drainage pipes) during a weekend rainstorm. Powers weekend emergency telephone service - speaking to a real, knowledgeable person - was uniquely great. She was able to schedule and have someone out within hours who diagnosed and did an immediate fix, in the rain and mud, on the spot. For that alone Power gets 5 stars and our appreciation and future business. They then proposed and bid a larger drainage installation project for a needed permanent improvement, and did quality work. Will use them in future and highly recommend.

I’ve been a long time customer. I use A.E. Power to perform an annual power rodding of my sewer line. I do this as a preventative measure. I gave them a try after a bad experience with someone else. And I have been happy ever since. They are quick to return calls as well as being able to keep their appointment window. The plumbers that have come through have all been professional and quick. Our boiler pump broke last weekend and he came out on a Saturday not once, but twice, to make sure that we had the parts we needed to get the boiler up and working again so we would not be without heat in this miserable cold!We ended up deciding to replace the boiler with a new high-efficiency space saving wall-hung unit and he and Jerry worked for 2 days straight getting it up and running and we could not be happier! I recently used Allan E. Power/247 Plumbing because a different plumbing company had caused blockages in my pipes when they changed the water heater.I called AEP and asked them to come out and look at several things. There was poor water pressure, both hot and cold, in the tub; poor hot water pressure in the kitchen faucet; and the bathroom faucet dripped.The big success which AEP had was to improve the water flow, both hot and cold, in the tub by blowing out the lines. (Thus 2 stars.) But unfortunately, even though I told the plumber to check to make sure the improved water flow went down the drain, he didnt check for long enough, maybe a minute tops and most of that with only the hot on. (He put the cold on also for only a few seconds.) Now when I shower the water backs up and a puddle fills the tub floor.AEP charges by the visit. Its $70 to get them to the door, plus an hourly rate of $160. Si it is problematic for them to come back now and rod the tub drain.The tub faucet leaks through the cold water handle when the water is turned on. My concern is that it might be leaking behind the wall. The plumber was able to verify that it was not leaking on the hot side; however the plate on the cold handle couldnt be removed because the cold handle was glued rather than screwed on. He said he couldnt get the handle off without breaking the faucet. I asked him if he could change the faucet that day, and he said no! (Thus another problem with the $70 fee.) He said he was going to note the status of the faucet on the receipt to help me in convincing the landlady that it needed to be replaced, but he didnt.Regarding the bathroom faucet, the plumber changed one cartridge, but the faucet still drips. Yet anther failure.Regarding the kitchen faucet, he attempted to change the hot cartridge, but the new cartridge leaked when he put it in. So he had to put the old cartridge back. (This did nothing for my confidence level in AEP Plumbing.) His advice was to leave well enough alone with the hot water flow permanently diminished.

I tried to do a simple replacement of a washer for a leaking outdoor spigot before winter came. I screwed it up and broke the valve. I called Allan Power Plumbing and they were able to come that same day. Plumber replaced the spigot with a new one and installed an isolation valve. Person was very professional and cleaned up after himself. Also was tolerant of my curious 9 year old watching him closely.

They came out right away to replace our hot water heater that failed suddenly. They were very competitive on the price 70% of the price I was quoted from another place here in town (Riverside Plumbing).I think theyre terrific! My experience was great-pretty much totalIy seamless. I just read these past couple negative reviews from the past couple months, but my experience has been the exact opposite. 84 year old mother in law was charged 595.00 dollars and the furnace was worse off than when the technician showed up. Replaced parts and said she should replace it as many other parts could go out. It also wasnt working when the technician left. Another company came in and fixed it for 185.00 total. I am filing a complaint with the BBB on her behalf. Elderly abuse.

This was a quick maintenance intervention, because the sewage line was draining properly. Dan did a good job, as far as I can say. I wish he had a line camera to show the customer, as most company do, that the line was completely free.

When the plumber arrived, I noticed that he was not driving the old familiar blue vans emblazoned with Power Plumbing that I had been used to seeing since about 1980! It was a van that did not even mention Power Plumbing.When I heard the price, I was shocked. It didnt match with my prior experience with the company.After he left, I heard the toilet refilling-it was leaking.I called and he returned to repair this condition. When he was ready to leave, he explained that he didnt know why it was leaking since he put the appropriate parts in the first time. (Well, if he doesnt know why it is leaking, were in trouble because Im not a plumber!)Since he left, I find that I have what Ill call an eco-toilet. When you press and release the handle, you get a half a flush. If you need a full flush, you have to hold the handle down.I thought about calling them back, but needless to say I will be looking for a new plumber that perhaps knows why something doesnt perform properly.UpdateI feel obligated to update the review listed above. After the incidents described above, I was contacted by the company offering to correct the issue. All of this was happening at a time when I was dealing with a medical issue, which complicated our communications and I was unable to schedule a return visit since I was absent from my home for quite a bit of time.However, I can tell you that the vans used by the company had been introduced previously and I should not have even mentioned it since it had no bearing on the issues that I outlined.To summarize, I will still call Power when I need a plumber. I’ll just be sure to request that they not send the same person referenced above. Perhaps I can even get my “eco-toilet working properly.😉 My revised 3 star rating means I’m willing to give them another chance.

When my wife’s 86 year old, dementia/Alzheimer parents experienced a sewer back-up over the holiday weekend, she called Allen E Power Plumbing. They were quick to respond and determined that the back-up began outside the house foundation wall. It took 3 entire days to clear and replace clogged and broken sewer pipes. Sadly, over the course of several years, her parents had flushed things down the toilet such as: underwear, paper towels, hygiene wipes, tubes of toothpaste, wash clothes, etc., causing blockages along the entire length of pipe up to the village connection. As work was in progress, she was able to watch and felt confident that this work was absolutely needed. The teams were Professional and compassionate the entire time. While it was very expensive to repair, they haven’t enjoyed a fast drains for several years and my wife was glad it was taken care of once and for all.

Should have listened to my friends and hired a pro to do some challenging plumbing work. I went ahead and tried myself (on a Saturday). Things immediately went downhill and fortunately Allan E. Power was able to get someone out in just about an hour. Problem solved and cost for weekend call-out about what I expected it to be for a regularly scheduled repair. Kudos. My plumbing career is over.

Our service was all we expected. Our plumber arrived only a couple of minutes outside of our scheduled time. He brought with him the tool he needed to clear our clogged drain. In a few minutes he fixed the problem, tested the drain and was out the door. We are satisfied.

Quick service, but there is a service charge in addition to the hourly rate of $160, so a quick appointment can become quite expensive.

My furnace stopped working so I called Allen E. Power. These people showed up early, which was awesome. He fired on my unit and opened up the front. After only 5 minutes and no probing or testing anything, he told me there was nothing he could do but recommend that I replace the entire unit and buy carbon monoxide detectors. When it came time to write a check I was told there would be a half hour of hourly fee on top of the $90 I was quoted. Thus my total increased to $165. I asked him to send me a quote for a replacement of my furnace. I was miffed. A few days later, I still had not received a quote and they called me. So I asked again for one. THREE weeks went by and they still did not cash my check for $165. So I put a stop payment on the check. And I STILL had not received a quote for a furnace replacement. They then called me to inquire why I put a stop payment on the check. So I explained to them that the service was shoddy, he charged me nearly double what I was quoted, and I have not received a quote for replacement of the furnace. She was going to get right on top of sending me my quote and I was to get right on sending them the $90 I was quoted. NEITHER of these has happened and its been more than ONE MONTH since they came out. Do not give these people your business. Go to Mr. Duct!! They are very professional and do excellent work!

They could have killed us. We had them come out to repair a small gas leak by our hot water heater. They came, charged us $1200 for repairing half of the fittings that they promised us that they would fix... AND THEN THEY LEFT THE UNION OPEN AT THE GAS VALVE—no paste, didn’t screw on the coupling—the NICOR tech was surprised at such shorty work... we had leaking gas into our basement for hours before we noticed it. Hours later I still don’t have the “electronic invoice” that was promised to be sent to my email immediately. They were speedy to respond, very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the situation and options to me, and they did quality work!

On January 29th we had a gas leak at one of my buildings on a condominium complex. The leak was discovered after hours. NiCor came out and shut off the entire building including the heat in very frigid temperatures. We called Power plumbing and they were out in less then an hour. They worked hard in extremely cold weather and in the dark replacing over 20 of gas main. They were determined to get everything completed so our residents could have their heat restored. Thanks for all of your hard work especially in such awful conditions. Our residents were extremely happy to have the heat up and running!!

RUN AWAY!!! The worst company ever! They overcharge you for membership and repairs!!! They are dishonest and greedy!!! Dont trust them, you are a credit card number, not a human being!!!NEVER AGAIN!!!

Dan of Power Plbg.came out to our Condo about suppertime. There was a leak above the bathtub of a first floor unit . Dan found water accumulating above the drywall ceiling of the tub alcove. He determined that the water was coming from my unit which is directly above the unit which reported water leaking. He started to remove the diverter spout on my tub and it came right off in his hand; totally rusted out. Dan went to his truck for a new spout kit and a container of various sized pipe nipples. He was able to remove damaged pipe and elbow without cutting into the wall. He was then able to get new nipple and elbow into the wall with much effort. (It pays to have long slim fingers.) However he was unable to get the new spout to screw onto the new pipe elbow. He had to go back to the shop to get more spouts. He tried another new spout of the same kind; it also would not screw on. He then tried a third spout of a different brand, and that one worked. He then was able to tighten everything without cutting into the wall. He and I then poked a few holes into the drywall ceiling above the tub on the first floor. Water dripped through those holes for a few minutes and then appeared to stop. The plumber left about 9: P.M. My downstairs neighbor called me at 11P.M. to say that a water bubble had formed in the same area and was leaking. I took a ladder down to neighbors unit and was able to see the area above the drywall and there was a good half-gallon of water sitting above the drywall. I then was using many of the neighbors towels to soak up the water standing above the drywall. Took me about abou about 45 minutes to get rid of the water. I am upset that the plumber never told us how much water was up there and that he didnt attempt to remove it. The affected area is now drying out nicely.I would have rated the service higher if the plumber had completed the job. Also thought the almost $400. Bill was somewhat high, but what do I know about about plumbers rates!!

Fantastic service -- we were in a pinch with company arriving and had issues with vintage fixtures. Got the job done as promised, fair price.

My AC went out in the summer, and I wanted to call a local place. First off, the girls scheduling customers into the service schedule in were very rude. The technician who came to my house was running late. He still had not arrived for a 3pm by 4:15. When i called i was told that it was a 3p-5p window. When i said that was fine, and i was just checking up, they said that the AC technician called me to try and come by early. I said i received no such call or voicemail. She said that cell phones are known to be a problem, and that it was probably my phone. I didnt even care, then she kept on about how phones dont work all the time and it was my fault, which was unnecessary. The tech then showed up and could not have been less interested. He was making it clear this was a burden on him to have to make this stop instead of finishing his day. He said that they could do a cleaning, but he didnt think it would fix it and that i really should spend over $4,000 to replace the whole unit I asked why and he said it was old and had freon leaks. They said they could do the cleaning and patch the leaks, but didnt want to because they would just be back out in a week when i needed to replace it. I told him i would sleep on it. He said he could put me on the books for a return visit the next day at the same time, but could also do it Saturday morning.I called them scheduling office the next morning to discuss my options for my 3pm visit. it was not on the books, and she said the techs cannot make appointments. I told her maybe they cant, but my tech did. I said i was considering moving the appointment to the Saturday spot my tech mentioned, and she said they do not do Saturday visits, only double rate emergency visit. I said, again, thats not what my tech said. She then said she didnt understand why i was so upset. I said was not upset, and was just telling her what my tech told me, but now i was now frustrated because I didnt want to give my business to a place that treated their customers this way.I ended up getting a recommendation from a friend, and a nice technician came out at no extra charge that Saturday morning and said that he could do a cleaning and patch the leaks for half of what A E Power was charging. I asked if the system should be replaced, and he said it would probably last a few more years, may need a maintenance call each summer, but could last. And if it broke and i wanted the AC replaced he would be able to do it for far less than what AE Power quoted me.
