I always love shopping for books and Books-a-Million (BAM) offers a wonderful location to browse. Their prices are a little more than you can buy online, but they do have a great selection of bargain books, club discounts, and lower priced classics. If you love books like I do, BAM in Kingsport is a great place to spend some time!

Books-A-Million is ALWAYS one of my favorite places to go, especially this location! They are friendly, helpful, and keep the store looking so nice and organized. I always find awesome things, toys for my little boy, and books when I go. Also an awesome place for gifts and stocking stuffers!

Friendly staff, I purchased some tarot cards while there. The selection was impressive.

When I go in this place it feels like Im home. There is a huge selection of books, and the way it is organized is awesome. There are these cool little stations that are themed, and its always easy to find not only books you are looking for, but things that are related. The best way to describe it is just go in. Dont order from Amazon. Walk into a book store, walk around, touch the books, pick them up.... Its just a satisfying thing. Try it. This is a great place to do so.

The highlight of my week is always visiting this Books-A-Million. Associates are hit or miss, however Winter is an angel. Always so kind and helpful. Their computers often have issues; please be patient, the associates have no control over it and are quick to find a solution. If you come here more than a few times a year, definitely invest in the Millionares Club membership. Mine ends up paying for itself tenfold every year. During my visit this week, all appliances and decor from the cafe were being removed— Im unsure if its closing or just being remodeled. Either way, this location is a must visit for book lovers.

Nice book store, reminds me of a Barnes, back when they were a thing. Good selection, a lot of fun merch in the store too. Thet have sale items out front at a good discount as well as a club card for additional savings.

This place is INCREDIBLE!! My local one is super small but this one is big and has plenty to buy!

Great selection with in shop Coffee house. Organized well staff isnt always the most helpful or attentive but thats a problem everywhere now.

They have a wonderful in-store selection of almost every genre, with one glaring exception. They have a large selection of of religious books but have chosen to reduce the Christian selection. Thats curious, given the local demographics, and I really wish they would expand that particular section. Otherwise, no complaints at all.

They have everything for every franchise with a cult following. Some prices are outrageous, others are decent. Lots to choose from. If youre any kind of fan youll struggle hard to decide or will spend every dime u have.

This store is simply amazing. We used to have one near where I live but they closed it, I was heartbroken. I can spend hours here just perusing the various titles and novelties. I always find something I havent read in the bargain book section and it is rare that they fail to have anything that I look for. I highly recommend this store to anyone who has a love of reading. Oh, and they have plenty of items for the little ones to help inspire a love of books and reading!

I was impressed by the sheer volume of books available. I made the mistake of showing up on Christmas Eve, and the line to the cash register seemed a mile long. I am normally patient, but I had big problems finding my book. It would help if there was some sort of tutorial available that people could walk up to, type in what they are looking for, and get an isle location. So GOOD LUCK if you are less studious and require assistance on a busy day.Outside of that, you will be pleasantly pleased with the store, selection, and location of this fine book store.

Ben Shapiros book was amazing

Since they closed our local BAM and Joe Muggs several years ago, We visit to browse and get coffee every chance we come across. This was by far our worst experience. Maybe she was having a bad day or her focus was somewhere else but our “barista” seemed thoroughly annoyed to have to make coffee for us and it was a total waste. Warm tasteless water with no flavor and barely any color.

I absolutely LOVE it here! I spend a couple hours skimming the aisles of books and when I need help the staff are super helpful and so nice.

They always go out of their way to help you find the book or item you need, and if its not available in the store, they will order it for you. Absolutely love this book store! Always a pleasure. Employees dont bother you, but are helpful and eager to find what you need when asked. Employees are all very aware of the checkout station and dont hesitate to open more registers to assist in checking customers out when a line forms.

Love this place! Very friendly, great service and very helpful. A little pricey on new books, but you can also get some great books on their clearance racks, ect... I really wish they had A set price you could pay for a membership that lasted longer or the yearly membership fee was cheaper.

The staff always seems very professional and the store is well maintained and organized.However, I do feel like its a bit too expensive compared to other places and the company itself has its employees push their card on you a bit too aggressively.

Books, Books, and more books! Just the place to find whatever you need. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. If they don’t have it in the store, they are more than willing to order it for you and send it to your house directly. My husband, two teenage children, and I absolutely love it. If you are a book connoisseur, you will love the smell as soon as you walk in.

Definitely not the best BAM Ive been to, but also definitely not the worst. The employees are always nice and willing to help you find anything youre looking for. However, it is a smaller store and the layout doesnt make much sense. It is very difficult to find what youre looking for and once you feel like youve gotten the hang of the place, they change it around.

Only reason they arent 5 star is because of cant stand buying books and they have a sticker that is more expensive than the actual bar code on the book itself.

Calm and relaxing atmosphere. Very organized although I was shopping just prior to closing so dont know what it looks like during a rush. But my experience was good. Was welcomed walking into the store and was thanked when I left.

I am commenting on BAMs return policy. I was given a gift with a gift receipt. I returned the gift expecting they would give me back cash. Instead, they gave me a gift card. I called and told them a gift receipt is useless, if they still only give back a gift card. I was told yeah, but thats our policy.

I used to love this store. Carried the membership for years when they opened up in Bristol. For years i would be in here at least once a week. Now when i go there the staff is rude they act like they dont want to help you and finding any of the books i read from best selling authors is like finding a needle in a haystack. Everytime ive went in there for at least the past two years they havent had any of the new books from any of the authors i read and they are best selling authors....doesnt make sense to me. Its got to the point id rather drive to johnson city and go to barns and noble. Ive never had any issues with the staff there or finding whatever book im looking for. Books a million definitely isnt what it used be.

Would be great if they didnt upsell so much. They try to hit you up 3 different times in one transaction. I know theyre required to do this, but the company needs to back off on that a little.

Awesome selection of literature and novelties and childrens toys as well as apparel. The staff was friendly and helpful. My children and I will definitely be back soon.

Best way to spend time. Always surprised about what I come out of the store purchasing. Definitely join the yearly club if you visit more than once a year it pays for itself very quick. Renewed my membership in October and i have already saved way more than i paid to join.

Good coffee. Great book selection and an amazing collection of assorted collectables

They lied to me and said that I would be getting 2 months worth of free magazines but when looking at the fine print its gonna charge me after 2 months. I called back to say hey dont even send my credit card info in but was told that it was Too late and that its gonna take their managers up to a week to get the issue resolved. The staff would have been friendly had they actually not lied to me. The interior is also very crowded and the selections are smaller than they used to be since most of their content is toys and collectables. The staff was no where near the checkout when I was ready to go and I had to wait around, which I dont really care to do but if youre in a rush theyre not the best that way.

Lots of books, but I was looking for fill in puzzle books, WHICH THEY DID NOT HAVE!!! WEIRD!!! They had other puzzle books.... crosswords, word search, etc. I will never go back. Found my puzzles on ebay!!!

Visiting from SC, we had to drop in on BAM Bristol! The store was clean, well stocked and well staffed.

One of my favorite places! Has a great selection of books, comics, vinyl, board games, magazines, and collectibles. However, doesnt have Used items like the Johnson City location, due to sizing constraints.

Love it. Spent three hours and $500 there in one trip!! But it was for Christmas.

I went to look for adult coloring books... they had a pretty good selection, dont expect a good deal tho. I dont see how anyone could come out empty handed unless the prices just shut them down... tons of neat novelty stuff, kids toys, there is a small cafe also. Not a bad spot overall. Just overpriced.

Looking for a book? Theyve most likely got it. Looking for some merchandise from popular books? Theyve most likely got it. Looking for books at a comparable price to Walmart or Amazon? Not so much. The books here are regularly $5-7 higher than you can get them elsewhere, its the only drawback.
