Ive been a customer at American Auto for a few years now. They have always, in my opinion, been very honest with their work and very fair with their charges.I was recently in the market for a used car and American Auto was my first (and last) stop.They helped me find the vehicle that was right for me, they worked with me on the price, and to my surprise, they even did a little bodywork at no cost to me. It was work that l never even mentioned. They just offered to do it as part of the sale. Wow!I will definitely refer others to them and l highly recommend that you give them a try for sales and/or service.

Review of car experience after 5 months.Went online and browsed cars. Came across an 02 VW Jetta meeting exactly to my budget. Went and spoke to Mike and Bob and talked about the car. After a few hours, got a windshield replaced, front brakes completed, new tires and a/c recharged. Not to mention, seller fees, registration and plates for all under my initial budget and not a penny more. Waiting for a truck to now become available to go back once again. Thank you gentlemen

Sold me the biggest piece of garbage Ive ever driven. Took full advantage of my bad credit. They promised me that they would fix a few noises I heard in the car while driving it. after i sat there numerous times to get my car back the same each time I had to take it to a real mechanic. The repairs alone have been thousands. There was bondo on my plastic bumper and duct tape covering rusted holes.

Unprofessional, not customer orientated, and lacks customers needs, would never recommend this place to anyone.

I am a disabled individual who was looking for a dependable vehicle that my wife and myself could get in and out of easier than our dodge Durango which was too high for us.seen kia advertised low miles drew us to vehicle. once we met Bob and his Sons we felt that when they said that the car was going to be throughly inspected and anything needing repair would be taken care of. So we Purchased the Kia Sedona from American Auto sales, which is an hour away from my home.. upon picking up the van and within a couple of days the check engine lite came on this started a series of 6-8 hour days sitting in their office Within the first couple of weeks they had me come in and they replaced a variety of sensors and said car was all set, but within two days the engine light came on again, this kept happening brought car in again said it was another sensor still on brought the car in.I should mention that Bob and his sons are good guys and very friendly they did have someone pick up the car a few times).In addition to engine light, the car lost power so I went to another mechanic and they determined it was the catalytic converter the power returned but engine light is still on. battery died, muffler broke at weld and recently 2 tires of the brand new tires 4 tires they supposedly put on blew out while going down rt 91 and the tire shop told me that the wire banding in another tire was showing. so had to change4 tires. Now that the warm weather is here turned the air on and guess what? the compressor went. BEWARE!!Bob B

Ive bought my last 2 vehicles from them at very reasonable prices. My truck started having some issues about a month after buying it (which is to be expected buying used) and they were more than willing to help me out to fix the issues and work with me on the price of the repairs. I wont go anywhere else for my repairs and when its time for a new car or work truck they will be my first stop. I would absolutely recommend them!

They are simply the best. Bob and his son Mike run the shop. Both upstanding men doing a wonderful service for their community. You will be hard pressed to find a used dealership selling cars in such good shape, with such low miles at SUCH low prices. Most of their cars are under 4,000, and these are not lemons. I have now had 3 cars from them and most of my immediate family has purchased their vehicles with little to no issues. Yes, these are used cars, and youd be a fool to think you wouldnt run into any issues. They will take your car back and deal with the issue so fast, it seems that its their highest priority in life. Disappointed. Despite their efforts to be accommodating (Nice staff, reasonable pricing, good selection) they fell short of delivering an honest enjoyable and confident car buying experience. Theyre willing to fix issues with cars you buy from them but unfortunately I simply couldnt trust the integrity of their owner or mechanics. This is definitely your issue we will fix it right up! only to have my car taken back 2-3 times in a week and I foot the bill for towing. I understand diagnostics is unpredictable BUT make the effort to assess properly, I received excuses and fake promises.

Please, save your time and energy and dont shop for a car here.. further more anything they sell that has an engine. We had to go back numerous times to fix problems that should have been checked in the first place. The only helpful person there was the owners son. Didnt even offer money back or any coupons for further services. On top of that we had to leave our car there to get fixed for a broken headlight and broken radio. They didnt even call to say the car was done, mind you its been a week already. When we called they said it was done. We get there and have to wait longer then an hour cause they hadnt finshed. So please if you have a little more money please shop elsewhere.

Hi everyone, I was looking for a suv to replace the one my 16 year old total my 02 Tahoe.So we were looking around for a replacement,we came upon American Auto and had nice Cadillac Escalade we looked at it and bought it.After driving for a short while some issues were happening so I called and talked to them about the stuff that was going on and they said to bring it down,after getting all the stuff fixed no more problems.It was very nice that they were able to do that for us since we live month to month,so If you’re in the market for a car or truck you should check the these guys out.

I purchased a vehicle from here in Oct in 2014.. There were some issues with the vehicle (not mechanically, and to no fault of his). The owner stood up and was blatantly honest with me and took care of the issues at hand. I WOULD recommend you try this place out.. After all good business ethics and honest people are hard to come across, and Robert has both of those value instilled in him. Also a big thumbs up to the mechanics there who were able to get me in and out of there within a business day when I did have an issue.. 1 Star is too many. Car was unsafe. Found out once i got a real allignment ( not thier inhouse 1 done by the mechanics eye site) that the frame was bent. Dont just walk away. RUN!!!!

Avoid if possible. Not a good experience. Make sure you do your due diligence if dealing with these peopleEDIT - These people have not gone to great lengths to help me in the past. That is a lie... unless your definition of a great length is literally nothing. I didnt want to get into the story but they sold an objectively unsafe vehicle and then couldnt and/or wouldnt fix it in a reasonable amount of time. After having the vehicle checked out by an independent mechanic, it was discovered that the vehicle had serious safety issues. I notified the sellers immediately and brought it in for repair. They claimed they repaired it, but by now I had no reason to trust them and had it checked out by an independent mechanic again. Come to find out, they did not actually repair the defect - or do anything while the car was in their shop. At that point, I just took it as a loss because dealing with these people became more trouble than it was worth. Like I said - avoid like the plague if you can. If not, do your due diligence. I guess theyre mad about the review but Im sure Im not alone.

These guys are straight up. I had been looking for an older model 4x4 SUV for a while and I found a 99 Tahoe at American Auto Sales. It needed a little TLC before I bought it and they hooked it right up and had it ready in 4 days! I dont remember the owners name but he was a real down-to-earth salesman and was straight up about the price negotiation and sale, nice and honest type people. I recommend them! And my Tahoe is still runnin strong! Thanks guys

Left car for a oil change, came back 3 hours later and my car never moved. was told it would be quick but it took over 5 hours total.

Get all thier promises in writing. The second you tell them what they promised they act confused and tell you about the state warranty. They made a ton of promises that they would do before i picked up the car and nothing was done, then told me that a car under 3000 is as is. So everything they said to me was to only have me sign papers. The repairs were thousands. The car was obviosly hit. The brake lines rotted through after about 2 months of driving. The repairs are endless on this lemon. 1 star is too many for them.

Bought a car from here a few years ago. Some things they try to hide very well. I received the car with Full gas good to go! To which a few days in I realized they tricked me, the gauge was broken. It would read full no matter the amount of gas. Had to count my milage for the year and a half or so I had the car so I didnt run out.I also had to have a repair done in the first 2 weeks of getting it which was for the radiator. Now i know used cars can be hit or miss but my complaint for this is whoever does the repairs. They left several nuts/bolts loose, and one of the things they didnt tighted was the transmission line. It was leaking fluid everywhere. I was able to actually turn them with my hand they were that loose but didnt tighten myself so I didnt hear no BS about messing it up myself.Few other things but thats enough lol, 2 stars cause some actually show good customer service and some people actually have success, but 1st impression is what matters and it failed with me.

Dont waste your time here. Sells cars that need repairs. Took car back atleast 10 times for what was promised to me before I bought it. Then started charging me to fix my guesses( im not a mechanic). They never made the car right. 4 different tires on the car still. Car still makes the original noises while driving that I was told would be done upon pickup. I would drop the car off only to get it back with the exact same problem over and over again.

Disappointed. Family and friends had positive experience with American Auto Sales however I had quite a different experience. I realize with a used car there is no warranty but Bob said he would give me 30 days within a week or so and I needed bushings, I ended up having to pay them $450.I have never bought a car that has not have 2 keys. I have only put less than 200 miles on the vehicleHere is the a recap of expenses:1) 2nd key. $1752) bushings. $450 (they should of taken care of3) new battery and connection $1904) new windshield wipers $325) repairs to engine and air-conditioning $10050.00I will not repeat what my mechanic experience with them. Will update at another time. All this with putting on less than 200 miles.What is next??

I have purchased 4 cars from Bob for my teenagers, havent had a bad experience with any of them. Any of the minor issues that came up were taken care of and they are always friendly, helpful and honest.
