Nothing but good things to say about this place. I was traveling across the country when my truck died! As a solo female traveler....I sometimes feel like Im being ripped off when it comes to auto repair, but not here. They went above and beyond helping me to get back on the road as quickly as possible. The price at the end seemed fair. Billy seems to be an expert mechanic, very knowledgeable. Renee is really competent and a great communicator. Both are extremely nice and helpful.

Stopped in town for lunch on our cross country move and couldnt get the car to start. These guys saw us right away and were able to diagnose the issue and get us going again. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Wholeheartedly recommended!

Slow wait time. my car was here almost three weeks with no text or phone calls until I had to reach out every week for update. Different prices every time it came to over the phone then in person it was always different.. if you are a woman alone I’d say come with a male who knows a little something or the husband will talk you in circles. I wouldn’t recommend but that’s my opinion.

I was very grateful to meet Billy and his wife. They are very honest and pleasant people to work with. Had issues with my radiator leaking antifreeze. Was quoted an outrageous price elsewhere because it’s a European car. Not only did Tri-State replace it but hoses as well that would’ve eventually needed another trip. They accommodated us quickly while we were on a long road trip. Engine light came on. I called that afternoon asking if they could take a look the next morning. I wanted to know if we could make the remaining 6-hour drive safely. Billy answered my question (yes, we could!) and helped diagnose some issues that could lead to why the light came on in the first place. They looked at a few things, cleaned up a few things, and got us on the road for only a diagnostic fee. We agreed I would take care of the more in-depth cleaning when we arrived at our destination. They could have up-sold us on repairs that might be needed in an older vehicle (2005), but they were honest and understanding of our desire to complete our family road trip. Grateful for their honesty and clarity of communication!

They were great! I had to go twice in one week, and everything was figured out for a reasonable price. My old truck runs good as new.

Billy is a very honest man, I brought my car from a god awful place called accurate auto that was going to over charge me and Billy did it in 2hrs as he said and gave me a warranty, these people are amazing, hes a very honest man to say the least Id recommend him over anyone in the Tri-cities, thats why he has so many cars in his garage and thats because his the best at what he does and is very honest, Thanks Billy, your wife and your other mechanics you did a great job!!!

I absolutely love this place!! Billy and his wife are amazing. I had so many other mechanics tell me that my oil leak was so bad that I would have to replace my motor or they just wouldnt even work on it or look at it just because its a vw. Billy took me in and within the same day called me back and told me that my car was fine it was just a mistake made by the person who changed my oil last. So instead of ripping me off they told me the truth and I had my car back the next day. Thank u guys so much yall are so awesome! And so fun to talk to. Keep doing the good work because there isnt many more mechanics out there like yall. If I could give yall 10 stars I would. Yall went above and beyond.

We were on a roadtrip from Texas back to New York and noticed some squeaky noise as soon as we got off the highway in Bristol TN. We stopped at Tri State shop and they checked our car and changed worn break pads in an hour and we were back on the road. They were friendly and professional with great price

Billy and Renee the owner operators of Tri State Auto Repair bring a whole new level to car care. I met Billy when my car died on I-81. My mechanic of 30 yrs didnt have time. Billy took care of me and has been taking care of my cars for 5 yrs. I hear a new noise in my car I stop by whats this ? Billie always takes time to listen. If its nothing to worry about, or can wait or needs to be taken care of he lets you know. Very honest and dependable. Beyond that delightful people. I enjoy talking to them.

My car started making the sound of a clothes washer on spin cycle. I was afraid of driving it. I read several reviews and sent text messages to three places om Sunday. They replied to my text early Monday morning and recommended Carls East End Towing. The towing company was excellent- but Tri State Auto goes above and beyond. Billy and Renea run a professional, caring, honest business. The problem was the cooling fan. They were upfront about cost, offered to drive me home and picked me up later. They were fantastic! I highly recommend them.

Billy and Renee are as good at their work as they are kind. Our Winnebago broke down on 81 and they let us camp in their parking lot while we waited for Billy to get us up and running again. He also helped with the other things that went wrong with our machine, like the water and propane. They do great work and are great people!

I was on my way to Nashville TN from NC. My car broke down. It was towed here. They fixed my car without meeting me. On my way home in my rental car I stopped here and my car was ready and waiting!! We had a busted radiator passing through this area on a trip from New Jersey to Texas. We called everywhere to get some help in a hurry, and got no assistance until we reached tri-state auto repair. Not only did Bill get us the part we needed locally they helped us get back on the road in a hurry. If we, or anyone we know, ever run into a problem when passing through again. Theyll be our first stop. We highly recommend them for their customer service and quality of work. Our truck is running better than it has since we bought it. Thanks again to Bill and family!

I recently had studs added to my wheel hub. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I got a call from the mechanic offering to change my brake pads free of labor since the wheel was already off. I will be a returning customer.

If u need a all around good mechanic this is the place, knowledgeable, good prices, and fast if its not one of them days that a lot of cars are needing work I needed a engine put in I got one online for the warranty I had to find a licensed mechanic & ship it to a garage & I hurd this place was good had it shipped there he waited on it & inspected before the truck left that was nice & took my old one out & took what I needed off & put on the new one & put in the car in less then 1 week amazing job it runs like a new one havent had any problems at all. Go & check for your self I know he bet the estimates I got from two three other garages by far.

I ran across this place on google looking for an affordable place. I had my own part, scheduled an appointment, brought my truck to this place they replaced rear end universal joint. Not long after they replaced I was driving home when suddenly the truck starts violently shaking. I get home and check the rear end, the same universal joints that was replaced on the driveshaft. I get underneath the truck and check those joints than I notice (Driveshaft is loose.) this is very dangerous!!! will be making a trip back to this place tomorrow to have them to refix what they didn’t fix to begin with. Driveshaft isn’t supposed to be loose, what would cause that is putting universal joints in wrong.UPDATE: I called the shop and they came over to my residence looked at the issue deeply apologized and drove the truck to their shop fixed it. Than brought it back. They even called me to check up on it to see how it’s doing. Since it’s been fixed I’ve had no further issues. Thank you all! Very nice people I would highly recommend to anyone. If something goes wrong they are deeply concerned and will fix it.
