Historic place
Nice location for one time pass on your way not for a special visit
Good place 😉
İ Luke it
Great historic venue, frequented by tourists and locals alike. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood its a testament to Istanbuls deep historic and cultural roots. While you are in this neighborhood, do walk these small quiet residential streets and grab a bite at one of the small local restaurants to immerse yourself in real authentic Istanbul life.
Good
The Column of Marcian (Turkish: Kıztaşı) is a Roman honorific column erected in İstanbul by the praefectus urbi Tatianus (450-c.452) and dedicated to the Emperor Marcian (450-57). It is located in the present-day Fatih district of Istanbul.
Very interesting! Nice and good presentation and place preservation!
Interesting
Awesome
Great, history
Historical
Fun
It is very trafficking
Column of Marcian. Just a monument, but interesting to read the blurb and look at how much it was being held together by steel straps and concrete patches. Dates from 452 or 455 AD depending on which side of the plaque you read.
I really dont know what it is, i just like it.
One of the hidden treasures of an old city, blended into the common architecture such that no local pays attention..
Wonderful place.... history is wonderful
Kiztasi is Nice. But tourists must be careful between kiztasi and Aksaray..
Good local place, but conservative area

Clean and comfortable place. Very kind staff...
Nice to see and visit, nothing much
Nice roman column, hidden in the streets, with lots of tame dogs sunbathing around. Reminds a little of The column of the Goths near Topkapi. Its a pitty that ancient column of Arcadius was lost..
The column of Marcian is place of high historical value, but very poorly preserved.
İts hestorical colum i think the state should care of it

It is the only monument remaining in the city from the reign of Markianos. It is a column erected for the glory of the emperor. It is known as the girls stone because of the two Nike figures on its pedestal. A statue of the emperor on horseback once crowned the top of his milk. There are damaged eagle figures on the capital at the top of the column. There are reliefs on all four sides of the pedestal.
The work that gave its name to the Kıztaşı District, one of the first Turkish neighborhoods established after the conquest, is actually a monumental column erected in its name by the Roman Emperor Marcianus in 452 or 457 AD. It remained for a long time in the garden of one of the bachelor rooms of the Janissaries in Saraçhane and was unearthed at the beginning of the last century (after a fire).
Babamın doğup büyüdüğü yer! Güzelim Kıztaşı önce evlerin arasına sıkışıp trafikle gölgelenmişti şimdi arap istilasına uğramış:((
Памятник людському підлабузництву) Колона з цікавою історією, якщо будете поряд - варто підійти оглянути.
Tarihi bir yer fakat etrafı korunmamış.
Magnificent Istanbul !! Even its side streets smell of history ... (Unfortunately, nobody knows the value of this) A heritage that can be taken under protection and marketed in other countries by chance, we came across by chance, there are photos and information about the criterion. And you will come across a lot of historical buildings on the side streets as you go to it 😊
Located in Fatih İskenderpaşa, Kıztaşı was erected in Forum Amastrion by Emperor Marcianus in 450 AD. It is one of the few monumental columns from the Roman period. The pedestal, which was unearthed in 1908, was named Maiden Stone because the goddess Nike in Greek mythology took place. The sign of the cross is engraved on the 3 sides of the base, which is made of Egyptian granite.
Column of Columns or Markianos (Greek: Στήλη του Μαρκιανού Stíli tou Marcianoú), [1] a monument erected in Istanbul in 455 in memory of the Byzantine Emperor Markianos. It is located in Fatih district in Istanbul. The Markianos Column, erected in 455 in Istanbul during the Byzantine era, has survived in the middle of a small square in Fatih, called Kıztaşı. It was named as Kıztaşı Mahallesi among the first Turkish neighborhoods established after the conquest of Istanbul. This monument, which remained in the garden of a house in the Janissary rooms in Saraçhanebaşı for a long time, was unearthed as a result of the reconstruction after the Ginning Fire (1908), which burned the whole region. It was made in two pieces of red-gray Egyptian granite. Its base is four-sided and made of white marble. The medallions on all three sides are decorated with Greek crosses. It is known as Kıztaşı by the people due to the presence of a Nike statue on its pedestal. There is also an inscription on the west side of the dial.
The historical texture in this region needs to be preserved, but the streets are very narrow. Car parks make it difficult for the streets to move. Large parking lots should be built in certain areas. For Gods sake, firefighters cannot enter the streets in the event of a fire. Authorities need to take this into account. Our historical places should not be damaged..
Beautiful place. In order to be given more attention...There is a similar one in Damascus, Marjeh Square
It is one of the most valuable historical corners of Istanbul.
A very tasty and affordable place
What a respectful nation to Ottoman historical buildings...
I recommend seeing a beautiful place, especially reading its story and going there. According to legend, it is one of the talismanic stones that protect Istanbul. If these stones are destroyed or damaged, great damage will come to Istanbul.
An archaeological monument is located in the middle of the street. Very nice. He can take pictures for memories.. I recommend visiting him
Lets make a note here about a day I spent with Sevi Reyhan :)
You should see a historical stone, but do not come by car, there is no parking
Thank you
When you look at her, well, nothing special. But it is worth considering that it has been standing like this since 455. Landscapes, countries, rulers changed, but she stands. For contrast, it stands among ordinary houses, without pathos and pomp ... The column, although not a beauty, caused so many emotions
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, where the tranquility, the charming nature, the cleanliness and the distinguished service
Its neglected, as if abandoned as usual. Even the book is full
Fantastic
It has historical depth. You should read about him.
Its real name is Marcians Column. It is an imposing structure erected by the Eastern Roman Emperor Marcianus (Markianos) in the 5th century.
The beauty of the Fatih district stands still with the magnificence of the maidens stone.
