If I could give them zero stars I would. The store manager John Ramos is absolutely worthless. I was waiting in line before store opens for 25 min to ensure I would be able to buy some Ammo when they opened. The Manager john opened the door and at 10AM proceeded to go on his lunch break with a line of customers outside. I went inside and was told John is the only one who can sell Ammo and wont be back for 35 min. I went out side and asked him if he can make an exception since Ive been waiting outside. He said NO just wait in the store till I comeback in 35 min. ALL do your self a favor and dont shop at this BIG 5 or any for that mater. No customer focus what so ever. Go to Turners or flowers in orange at least they respect the customer.

Great service at this location. We called asking about an item in stock. When we arrived they had pulled it and set it aside for us. Will recommend this place to anyone that asks.

Nice clean well stocked store

I live in brea and like to shop at local shops as much as possible. That hanged for this store today. I went to get price adjustment for the shoes with the paper coupon. The manager was mean and suggested it was cheating to get the price adjustment. She wasnt friendly in her talk as if I came to cheat. Thats just unbelievable.

Big 5s business model is to provide secondary market products at a good price. The point being, you will find all kinds of sporting goods, but dont expect to get top of the line stuff. Second, though the staff is extremely friendly, they are sparce. You pay for what you get. If you dont expect more, it will be a successful shopping experience.

Great to still have a place to walk around and physically browse the merchandise. One of my first experiences when it came to buying sporting equipment. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. The stores are not as big, but its probably better this way. Still feels the same and I am glad they are still around.

Good selection of sporting and hunting equipment. Aisles are a bit small and barely enough to walk through; however, its well organized and clean. Staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful. Good competitive prices.

I couldnt decide what to eat... everything looked amazing so I ordered a combo sandwich. Came with everything but the kitchen sink! Tastes better than backyard cooking, all you have to do is eat, no work. Small hole in the wall place thats destined to be my favorite, smokes the other BBQ places, sorry couldnt resist. Best place for getting shoes. Go to the clearance shelves if that Big 5 has them. Amazing deals. But I just bought second set of training shoes but also black leather casuals for work, both for $21 each. You try them on in the store in the seating area. You cant beat Big 5 on shoes!!!

Nice store with large variety of items. However I was looking for a store w a large selection of backpacks for my backpacking trip to Bali and they did have some nice ones but I did not find what I was looking for here and was not able to compare backpacks. No one came up and offered us help which I dont really mind but I did have questions. There was a big thunderstorm had started so we just left.

Once opening, the guy picked up the phone even if two customer has been waiting from the outside and left while I am researching a second info saying he will come back. After 5 min wait he said they dont have on stock and no clue when he will have on.

Big 5 is where I go to get anything I need. I could get it I usually go there for my running shoes. As well as there is a great amount of selections and different types of items you could get their. Although there is there sometimes is a lot help I found that everyone whos there is always willing to how about and ask if you need anything.

They have everything from archery sets to yoga mats, but the store itself is organized chaos!Seriously, you know where the shoes are, where the clothes are, where the weights and home gym equipment are, even the golf equipment - but you will feel like youre about to be buried alive amongst the overflowing merchandise! Its a clean store, but unfortunately it doesnt feel like it.You can tell the employees work hard, but theyre very apathetic towards their customers. (If I worked in a place like that, though, I think I would be, too.)Pricing varies, but they some pretty good sales so you can always find what youre looking for; may take some time and a couple of return trips if what youre looking for is out of stock, but so far Ive never been told we dont sell that.So, again, great for sporting and gym needs, not so great for everything else.

Best customer service!!!! I went in early Saturday morning rushing to get last minute snow boots and gear. The staff were so very helpful and friendly, this made my stressful morning so much better, I was so pleasantly surprised at how helpful they were, absolutely above and beyond!

I went into the Brea location and received excellent customer service. I had my 3 month old and my 2 year old with me. Whenever I would choose something I wanted they took it to the register for me so I didnt have my hands more full than they already were. Alex went the extra mile and even put my items in my truck for me as I loaded my children. Thank you Alex!!

I recently had a situation where I needed to spend a whole bunch of $25 AMEX reward cards for work, which were about to expire in 3 days. I initially tried to use them on Amazon, however they would only take one card per purchase which did not work for the items we wanted to buy. I then went to Walmart to try to purchase items, and asked them up front if they had a limit on how many gift cards could be used in a single purchase. They said there was no limit, however once they entered 5 cards their system blocked it and said too many bank cards, so I was only able to get 2 of the items. The manager then told me they couldnt do any more transactions and he did all but escort me out the door like a criminal. After spending over an hour there I was furious. I then decided to try Big 5 to see if they could take multiple cards. I was warmly greeted by the manager, Kyle, and the cashier, Luanne, who told me they would gladly take as many gift cards as I wanted to spend. Kyle helped give me good ideas of items to purchase, and Luanne patiently rang up the purchases and entered all the cards. $4,270 later, we were all happy! I highly recommend the Brea Big 5 store and will continue to shop there.

Today I went into Brea Big 5 store, Julia at the register was rude and appeared to be annoyed and handed over my receipt and shoes without a bag (not that I needed one) nor a thank you! Also, the person working in the shoe section also appeared in a bad/lazy mood. He seemed annoyed as customers were asking for sizes. Other than this the store does have a good selection!

I just went in to this one to look for soccer cleats. Unfortunately sizes for kids with big feet have to be ordered online and sent to store. So I went here to pick up soccer cleats for my 14 year old

This young man helped me find the right sleeping bag and gave me all sorts of helpful tips for my camping trip. The prices are ideal.
