Super slow service. No one available to answer my simple and quick question over the phone. Phone just rings. Took me 30 mins to check out at a register. Please be mindful of other peoples time.
Pro membership is a waste of money. I bought it because of the advantage on the PS5 which there was none. Twitter is free and it helps you out better. And purposely selling bundles instead of single units
Out of the 3 times Sarasota store has sent me here to do a trade in it has been nothing but issues. First one took over an hour to trade in an xbox, second time they claim their system is down and cant take phone trades. Waited a week came back again 3rd time same excuses. I was told call and check next time sorry. This store needs a serious training about how to treat a customer. Cudos to sarasota university store for NEVER being like this store.
If I could rate zero stars I would. My boyfriend has drove 30+ minutes THREE TIMES for your employees to tell him they dont know how to do the transaction to sell his phone, the second time we went we spoke to a so called manager that said the system wasnt working someone traded a game in right infront of us, its definitely a problem with the store, we have NEVER had this kind of experience at the sarasota store(s).

Joey needs to be trained in customer service. I dont believe that he has the understanding appreciation of the customer. When trying to rip the customer off for his benefit or the stores. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth.After getting an item put on hold for $249 sales price. Then driving 35 minutes plus. Then he charges $349. One starts to wonder is the extra $100 going into his pocket or the stores? I had proof of the sale and hold for but, he would not honor it. He said that he was the manager. I doubt that.Please train, re-train or release.

Games, game systems, and alot of accessories. Please check them out. Buy on the app prepay and(or) pick-up/delivery. Fair prices on some, other things can be expensive. Overall, I recommend it. Service and quality are good factors.

Drove all the way from sarasota called 3 different times and didnt get a answer... drove all that way to sell some games to be told they stop buying games 30 mins prior to closing well I wish I would of knowing that before my drive maybe answer telephones will help with that next time
This is a shout out to David at my favorite store in Bradenton on Cortez. I cannot show enough gratitude to you for you help. Extremely professional and helpful with my issue. I was in and out in a matter of minutes. I cannot thank you enough.
Store hours show Sunday 8-6pm. Drove 35 minutes one way to get there. Arrived at 1:30pm, lights were on. Employees were inside on the phone but door was locked. I stood there for a few minutes waiting, called them, no answer. They saw me but did not come to door. I guess I’ll have to find another store.
They had what I wanted at a good price. Not what I remember it being as a kid, but it was amusing.

After reading the reviews and calling in myself it’s apparent that no one in this store knows how to answer the phone. The auto said to call back later. Okay so 30 minutes later I call again no answer. I call 3 times in a row and still no answer. As someone who frequently works alone in a retail store this is extremely bad customer service.

Jon did me and my family a great service today he stepped up and took time to help me when other stores district leaders and managers wouldn’t themselves. I’m glad that on a local level they found somebody who is levelheaded and eager to help even if corporate is unwilling to reply or to help anybody who has a simple question.

I seriously cannot warn customers to stay away from this store enough. I purchased a Nintendo Switch as part of the Tax Refund promotion in which the console comes with a $35.00 credit to Nintendos Game Store. When I opened my console, there was no credit included so I contacted the store. Thus the saga began which has yet to end. Apparently, those consoles were special and were marked. The store had sold out of these special consoles while failing to take down their flyers at the time. After one phone call, two in-store visits, and now a Better Business Bureau complaint, the store has given me the runaround and repeatedly told half-truths. My issue is they werent honest up-front. Silly me, when I see a flyer advertising a credit, I expected it to be simple. The associate never told me there were special systems earmarked for this which were sold out. The store manager basically told me they couldnt do anything. It might only be $35.00, but when you give me the runaround, you lose my business for good.

Clean store and decent stock of items, but it takes multiple calls before they pick up and the girl I spoke to was pretty informal/appeared to be bothered by the call. Decided to go in the store despite this. Didnt receive a greeting, ask for help, or a goodbye on my way out. Employee nearly bumped into me and couldnt even bother to say excuse me. My hometown experience was better in every way.
Great staff. Line sometimes takes a while to get moving but a young lady today with shorter shoulder length hair went above and beyond. While she was on her break she was in line to buy something. When she noticed the line backing up, she put her own self aside and helped not only the customers get handled faster but also helped her teammate as well.
Great customer service,their employees have so much knowledge to share with us older people lol,that are not in the loop of all the best gaming systems. Plus they always have the newest games or can order them for you.
Service still great, the times are changing and yall going the way of blockbuster in the next 10 yrs, but I hope you guys find some way of surviving, a clean store.

Decent selection of games, friendly staff. It is smaller than most Gamestop locations Ive visited, yet it is the nearest to my home. Needs a bigger accessories & apparel selection.
Went to GameStop to pick up an older racing game I had and wanted to get again. They had it on display, Need for Speed: The Run (PS3). I took it up to the counter, guy goes to look for it. Cant find it and comes back with Need for Speed: Most Wanted and rings it up. I tell him its the wrong game and he says we didnt have that one, this one is the same price and better. Theyll try to pull a fast one on you, watch yourself here, if I hadnt noticed I would have walked out with the wrong game.

Place is nice, but a couple of the employees.... not so much.... they hold and hide certain Pops on customers for their selfs or their friends... very unfair to customers.... also lied and told me they would put me on a list and never had any Intention on doin so....

Decent store. Will not let you use a card thats chip will not work. Big Issue because a lot of chips dont work. Acted funny with me, had my wife who was standing there do it with her card.

Gamestop has become a joke in the last few years. Their trade value is awful and prices are quite high compared to their competitors. The only plus I see is for collectors I think perhaps they have a large eclectic collection of nerdy toys games and various items. THIS location has some of the rudest associates Ive encountered from the company.
My Kids loved it cuase they just learn they can trade and sell their games to buy new one. Lol.. an awesome game shop!

Sometimes it can be hit or miss on service in the years that I have been coming here, but today the gentleman and lady working were knowledgeable, incredibly helpful, and very nice to talk to.
Awful service, many people employed there dont know what theyre talking about. On top of that are very rude and tend to ignore you for their own conversations irrelevant to the job. De Soto mall is a much safer bet when you want to get game, information or just better customer service.

I hate to be that guy but whats with all of the cheap company made gamestop cases? Just about every game that my son picked out you guys had the games but no cases. I mean no one wants an overpriced game with some cheap looking case. And you guys have normal game cases on display but youll be missing the game for it lol wonder why.

I love going to this store everybody is really friendly but I think I should go there on special occasions from now on. The reason is that it was black Friday and I didnt plan ahead which I should of did and I was walking around the store until they closed and I wanted to use my coupon for 25$ off but the buy 2 get 1 free pre owned thing confused me. So they had to put two games back then I changed my mind then they grabbed another game and I changed my mind then I finally settled on Injustice 2 and I used my coupon. One guy at the door said something like give him whatever so he can leave and everybody started laughing I felt like the retarded kid who knows everybody at the GameStop and hangs out there until the store close. I was joking/flirting with the girl calling her Karen instead of her real name I just felt like a slow kid. So Ill just come here during like a midnight release and make it quick so I dont feel like a retarded kid again.

I NEVER had this problem under Mikes management at your old DeSoto Mall store. Definitely miss the way he managed the store.
I had not stepped foot into a gamestop in a number of years due to an unpleasant experience with an associate. After walking in I was greeted with a very warm welcome. When asking questions about a few games I had been debating on purchasing the associate Ryan was very informative about the games and made the experience that much easier narrowing my decision to the game that Im happy with. On another note the associate by the name of Deanna, helped finalise my purchase and help setup a rewards membership. Im very happy with my shopping experience that I will be making more stops at this store.
Find another retailer if you value your money. My other half purchased a Nintendo Switch as part of Gamestops Tax Refund Sale which was supposed to include a credit to the Nintendo Game Store of around $35.00. Now, when current games run close to $60.00, thats a big deal. Silly us, we thought it would be easy. You know, open the box and find a card with a code or something like that.Nope. He called the store, and hes been in the store twice. The long and short of this: It was that easy when they had special systems in stock. However, they were out of stock, had failed to take the flyer down, and completely failed to inform anyone purchasing a Nintendo Switch they werent getting the special. When speaking to a store manager, it was basically, Oops, we cant do anything and they took the flyers down to cover themselves. Its one thing to say, We cant give you Nintendo store credit, but we can give you credit on a game here. Nope, they didnt even do that.Now that a Better Business Bureau report has been filed, there have been messages such as, The Management has indicated they will attempt another phone call. Uh, the number is a cell phone. There havent been ANY calls. Another indicates youve made at least one which they havent. After working in both retail and customer service, its rather appalling at how badly Gamestop is dropping the ball. Considering the horror stories many of my friends have experienced through Gamestop, Im sure many of us will celebrate when they finally declare bankruptcy and close their doors. Theres really no reason for any of us to have any kind of loyalty to them based on how they treat customers.

Horrible service. Jose argued with me and took insult that I said THE COMPANY made an error, but he felt it was his error and accused me of insulting him. They had Lego Batman 2 for PS3 out on the shelf that my 4-year-old picked out. When I get to counter he says oh... dont have this I said okay, I will get something else... he replied well we close in a few minutes. Okay Jose, I have to make my kid happy and find something else. Went to the shelf, found a game, and brought it back to him (in less than two minutes ). The game rang up $5 more than the Lego Batman 2. I said, I want a discount because of Gamestops error. He argued with me and said I came up to him and was insulting him because they had a game on shelf that wasnt really available. Gamestop itself is great, but this location is a joke. First review, but have had numerous bad experiences at this location.
