Visited Discount Tackle three times in the last two weeks as I travel through the fishing learning curve. I’ve conversed with three different staff and each one was able and willing to help. They stock about everything I think one would need. They will be my go to place even though others are closer; they truly earned my business.FOLLOW UP: My most recent visit found none of the sales staff with masks, no recommendation or requirement to wear a mask posted on the door and no detectable air flow in the showroom. I will avoid this business indefinitely or until there is some indication that they care about the health of their customers.

I went here to get my husband started with fishing supplies as he just became interested. The man who helped me was so sweet! Took his time to explain everything to me. Most of the staff is pretty friendly, some didnt even acknowledge I was there or acted very ackwardly even when speaking to me as if they lack the experience to speak to someone like me. Bradenton......... They have alot of unique services and outlet is more than worth exploring.

Just purchased a Jackson Big Rig from them a few days ago. Ive been in this store a couple of times now and every time I walk through the doors I feel welcome. My last visit was to spool my new Daiwa reel. They took their time spooling the line onto the reel and made sure I was satisfied with the service. Awesome place!

This is my preferred placed for my fishing needs. Shop local and support mom and pop businesses. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They are well stocked. If they dont have it, they can probably order it for you.

A far cry from discount. You are just as well off going to Bass Pro, Dicks or Walmart. Limited selection of rods or reels that quickly escalate in price. Reels start at about $50 and rods at $25. Not so bad when it comes to tackle and line. Decent selection at typical retail prices.

Transitioning my rods/reels/tackle from fresh water to salt water. Staff has been accommodating and knowledgeable transitioning equipment short term and long term at a reasonable cost. Offered excellent advice on artificials and even gave insight on where to fish specific species I was targeting.A local patron even gave advice on a pair of lip grips. I was in the moment sceptical, but definitely use them every trip when my wife catches a fish and wants to have a quick photo before releasing back for someone else to catch.Don’t find many shops like this around anymore.

New to the area and stopped in to get some braid for my reel. Not only did they do an amazing job spooling it (included backing, get that at Dicks) but as I started asking some questions to the guy who was helping me, the owner split off from the customer he was ringing up after asking if he needed anything else and came over to help me out. He was very knowledgeable of the area, gave me tips and locations to wade since I dont have a boat, and pointed out what lures to use for what I was after without pressure to buy. Will be back for that Stradic FK soon, same price as the lowest I could find online......
