The best auto-shop experience I have had anywhere, ever. In fact, the Auto Works is one of the best retail/service experiences Ive had in my 53 years. Family-owned, trustworthy, expert and experienced. Clean as a whistle shop. Was invited to the back to look under my car to see whats going on. One part of my life is figured out - car care! Thanks Tim and Tammi!
Last month, I was driving across the country. Got caught in subzero weather and encountered some dicey issues with my diesel BMW X5 engine that would have stranded me in Bozeman. I called on short notice, and they had me in the shop and back on the road in less than 4 hours, despite being understaffed on the day I needed help. Cant speak highly enough of their service, speed, and professionalism.
We set up an appointment and they cancled because they were too busy. They are also hard to get in to because they are short staffed, but if you can get an appointment you will be happy with their work. They did a wonderful job on our car and were honest and the price was fair.
Autoworks has amazing customer service! They do a fabulous job with my vehicle too. Fantastic value! I would recommend Autoworks to anyone!
They worked on my blue bmw a lot!, I’m speechless they are smart and they know exactly what going on the price is perfect every time and the most important is they are fast! And professionals trust me the best shop in town ! I tried almost all of them I have never seen better than them.
Tammy and the crew do a great job, and stand by their work. It seems like it would be a miracle to get into their shop at all (looking at all the cars surrounding it) but scheduling wasnt bad. Their repair on my Audi started to fail, but they covered it under their warranty. Honesty and competence go a long ways. Highly recommend.
THE BEST!! Needed a quick repair on a Mini. Auto Works was able to fix the problem within a day and had the parts in stock. Extremely accommodating with my work schedule and let me drop off and pick up after hours. I’ve never had a shop that worked on foreign cars be this efficient, can’t recommend more!
Excellent crew, very responsive, highly recommended, and we will always go back. Cannot say enough good things about the entire staff both in the front office and technicians in the back. My X5 was well cared for.
Don’t let a wait time discourage you, it’s because they do the best work in town! I’ve been bringing my range rover here for years and they always have given me honest advice about what work is really necessary or worth the money. If you own any type of land rover this place is a must!!!
Wow! $175 for an oil change! Have had other services done by them and were happy but dang!
They treated our BMW like it was their own. Excellent service, excellent staff. I cant recommend them highly enough. A+, 5+stars.
We had an emergency repair need on vacation. They had us on the road in less than 20 hrs, flew in a part from CA. Gave us a ride home and back in the morning. Professional, competent and very nice folks.
If you are willing to throw your money away, then go to these guys. I took the car in for an appointment on Thursday and they didnt even look at the car until a week later. They gave me a diagnosis of worn out piston rings without doing a leakdown or compression test. WTF?? Also the tech couldnt figure out how to put the car into reverse and blamed it on bad bearings. If I could give a 0 star review, then I would.
Wasted my time. Was on the phone for about 10 minutes with one of their mechanics who told me no problem with diagnosing that, Im sending you to the front desk to schedule an appointment. The front desk answered the phone like I was a blind call, and promptly told me that they didnt work on my make and model and hung up the phone. I recommend calling everyone else first.
If you own a Mercedes-Benz. I would highly recommend taking it to them they really know Mercedes Benz. Excellent service.
Excellent mechanics
These guys were great. Bought a used car and the next day warning lights were going off all over the place. I got in within 2 hours and had a diagnosis for the lights. Thank you.
They are the absolute best shop I have ever used. I have a complicated BMW and they are on it. No one knows their stuff better than these guys.
These guys will get your car fixed....on their schedule. They are 1 week or more behind, which is why their parking lot looks like a used car lot. BMW folks...its painful to make the trip but go to the dealer in Idaho Falls. They are excellent.
Good honest people who remember your name and have treated two of my Volvo 240s as if they were their own and kept both cars running.I highly recommend.
Ive been taking all my nice cars to Autoworks for the past 20 years. It started with my Saab, now I have them service my BMW and Range Rover. I used to be a mechanic years ago (which they dont know). I use this hidden secret to my advantage when shops make up issues with my vehicles.Autoworks has always been very honest and will even bring out your old parts if you have any doubts.Good shops are busy and backlogged, Autoworks is no different. It’s a testament to their quality work - not a downside. Plan your scheduled maintenance in advance and they’ll help you maintain your car effectively.
After a bad experience with a different local auto repair shop I brought my car to Auto Works. I was told by a different repair shop that I needed to replace the transmission in my Volkswagen Jetta. It only has 77000 miles on it and I thought that it was odd that the transmission needed to be replaced! Tim at Auto works is very knowledgeable and suggested that it was more of a clutch issue! Tim was right and saved me $2200.00 big ones! Wish I wouldve went with Auto works to begin with. They even detailed the car when they were done! Very professional and you get what you pay for! Thank you Auto works!!
My Mini Cooper needed immediate attention last week and with a referral from Audi of Bozeman, I called Autoworks and they took my car immediately. My car was fixed and ready to go within a couple of days (due to a holiday in between and needing to order parts). Tami was amazing. She emailed photos of the problem and what needed to be replaced plus an estimate for my approval. She called and offered to have someone pick me up if I needed a ride to get my car (all the way to 4 Corners). My car is running great and I will use them for future service. Plus, she gave me a super cool Mini Cooper key ring. Thanks Autoworks!
We were traveling from NM to WA. We arrived in Big Sky on a Friday evening. After we stopped our BMW X5 started leaking antifreeze. It was not a small leak. Being the start of a weekend I could not get ahold of any shops in Bozeman. I got a recommendation and decided to have it towed first thing Monday morning. The tow truck driver recommended Autoworks because they worked on his Audi. I called them first thing on Monday. They said they had a two week work load. Since we were just heading on our vacation I thought of possibly leaving it with them and renting a vehicle. I explained our situation to Tami and she made no promises. I got a call from her late in the afternoon. They took the time and diagnosed the problem. It was going to most likely involve replacement of the water pump, valley pan, and another cooling system pipe. I was afraid to ask what the price would be and was surprised it was not double what they quoted. They would not get parts in until the next day, then have a full day of work on it and since I was stranded they bumped me up and said it would be ready by end of business day on Wednesday. They communicated everything along the way, took pictures, of what they replaced, and had the car buttoned up when I arrived to pick it up Wednesday afternoon.I have nothing but excellent things to say about Autoworks. Tami was awesome! When I picked up the car, Zach, the mechanic that worked on it came out to explain exactly what he had done and even had recommendations on something else that I should have fixed soon. I have had work done on this car before so I know BMW means bring my wallet. I thought they were extremely reasonable for all the work they did. They bent over backwards to get us back on the road again. They are honest, do not give unreasonable expectations, and are worth every penny. Thank you Autoworks, you all rock!!!
Great experience
Great repair shop. My Audi is back up and running thanks to these folks!
Great mechanic shop for imports...they know their stuff!
The cleanest shop in town, and a wonderful staff and ownership. Just great people.
My teenage daughters car broke down a hundred miles outside of Bozeman, Montana, and she had to be towed there. She is currently stranded there, is unable to rent a car since shes a teenager, and Autoworks is refusing to look at her car on an urgent basis. This is absolutely appalling. So much for smalltown hospitality. Anyone who can imagine having a teenage daughter stranded out of state and being treated like this might want to let the owner know their opinion.
Loads of expertise. While they may not be the cheapest shop in town, theyre the only place I can completely trust to work on my European cars, which as you likely know can be great, but will last much longer with the proper car and knowledge about so many specific details.Everybody from the front desk to the mechanics are extremely knowledgeable and wont steer you wrong. Theyve helped me squeeze a lot of reliable miles from my car thanks to their care. They recommend repairs and service when needed, but also are good about telling me what I can skip. Ive been VERY happy with Autoworks and just cant see myself taking my car anywhere else. If you have any European car, from Audis to Volvos, to Porsches and more, Autoworks will take great care of your ride.
Rude service. Lady attending was no help and was a snob. I didnt even get a quote after being charged for a diagnostic... Wasted my time.
Excellent Service!I am from WI but was traveling in WY and MT for skiing. On a Friday morning the car heater would not work in the front but did in the back of the car. I tried locally in Jackson to find help to no avail, but was heading toward Big Sky over the weekend. I talked to Tammy on Friday to explain the problem with my Land Rover LR3. She said they ere busy but would try to help and said she would order two parts that were likely the problem - a new heater fan and a relay. She said the parts would arrive Monday morning and shed fit us in. The problem was the relay and not the heater fan (but they had both parts just in case). They provide an honest and reputable service and I recommend them. They even took the time to print out some maps for us as we had a some time to kill and could do some hiking in the Hylite canyon to the Palisade Falls.
For certain imports, its the only place to go.
Saved our family vacation.
Great service!!
Great service but very expensive labor, more than what Volvo in Billings actually charges.
Saved our ass
