I’ve been taking my car to slipstream for years and it’s always a great experience. It seems like a family owned business. They’re honest and reasonable. I’m so glad to have a trustworthy place to take my car when it’s needed.
Recently took my new-to-me 1991 VW Vanagon to Slipstream for a handful of repairs. They were super helpful and communicative and did terrific work. I highly recommend them, and will be returning myself in the future!

The first time I came to Slipstream, I was looking for a new auto service company due to a new move. In the past I had gone to dealerships to get my car serviced but always felt like a number rather than a customer with specific needs. I was impressed with Slipstream because they specialize in foreign vehicles and I have a Volkswagen. I was also assured because they have been operating in Boulder for decades. The response for setting up appointments was very quick and the service time was even quicker. They drove my car and looked over many details apart from completing my standard oil change. They were able to make very important suggestions for services that I otherwise would have let slip through the cracks costing me a lot more money and problems later on down the road. You can tell they have a lot of knowledge and integrity with their work and they really understand vehicles. I am planning to make them my go to auto care business as long as I am in Boulder.

Slipstream is awesome!! Starting with when I call and explain my issue, they are able to fit me in right away. Often I can’t get there during regular business hours so they are incredibly accommodating with me leaving my car for a few days and working out the logistics. They always call with a diagnosis and explain everything in a way that I can understand. Often I have a lot of questions and they always take their time to explain things thoroughly. I definitely don’t feel like I am being nickel and dimed here. Lastly, Slipstream looks after the person/family and not just the car. I have an older car that may need an expensive fix and Bill let me know that the fix may not be worth it, but that we could discuss my options, he could preform a pre purchase exam on a new car, go ahead and make the fix, etc if I wanted to. I truly feel I am being treated incredibly well here, and thus have recommended others go here as well. Thank you so much for everything, Slipstream!
Most honest mechanic in Boulder!Ken was able to take me right away when I called and told him about the noise that I was hearing in my car other companies wanted to charge me $40-$60 just to listen to the sound I was hearing and he did it for me with no charge due to his first time customer policy. He was able to identify what was going on and called me within a two hour period about what needed to get done. He was very straightforward and reasonably priced! I was very pleased with his the service.
Theyll do just about anything and theyre quick to get you on the schedule. 10/10 will keep using them.
Bill and Ken are the two best mechanics around and they always treat me fair. You wont find any other shop you can trust to do the work needed but nothing more. They keep all my cars running and they run great.

This sounds kinda crazy, but weve been going to Slipstream since Grammas car needed a brake job nearly 30 years ago. An Audi, a couple Mustangs, and a Mazda have received excellent care over the years. Easy going and nice, knowledgeable people - communication is always clear and detailed on the current service or repairs as well as what to expect in the future. Wed recommend Bill and the crew at Slipstream without reservation.

In the middle of the Covid19 lockdown, the rear axle on my 2015 Xterra went bad, rendering the vehicle essentially unusable. Long story short, I tried for over a month to get the axle replaced through various Nissan dealerships, most of which could not be bothered to even return phone calls.I finally gave up on Nissan and, prompted by favorable internet reviews, called Slipstream. Slipstreams superior responsiveness and professionalism were immediately apparent. They immediately researched parts availability and recommended a course of action. Slipstream ordered a replacement part which due to lockdown-related shipping issues, took about two weeks to arrive; during this time, Slipstream provided me regular updates on the shipping status.Once the part arrived, the replacement took longer than expected due to rusted fasteners on the vehicle. Even though this cost Slipstream time and wasnt their fault, they were very apologetic, stuck to their original price quote and, unasked, diagnosed and repaired at no charge an unrelated issue with the steering wheel to compensate me for the delay.Slipstreams total price for the axle repair, replacing the (heavy-duty, off-road) rear shocks and fixing the steering wheel was less than what Nissan had quoted me for just replacing the axle. The vehicle has been working smoothly since the finished the repair.I was very impressed with Slipstream during this entire process. Their customer service in particular stood out. They will get my business in the future.

Was in Boulder on a Friday afternoon last month, when my 27 year old Honda started giving me trouble. Since I didnt want to attempt the long drive to my usual mechanic, or deal with having it towed, I limped over to Slipstream (as I have know of them for years as being a quality shop). While I expected to be leaving my car for several days, they made the time to look at it that afternoon and were able to make the repairs the following morning. I would definitely recommend Slipstream Autocare!

Ive been bringing my Audi A6 into Slipstream for the past 10 years, upon a recommendation by a co-worker. I had been going to the dealership for repair/maintenance, but found that Slipstream was more cost effective, and I prefer the smaller shop: it is locally owned (Bill is a great guy!), and the mechanics are all very honest and down to earth....they actually show me the exact issue on my car so I understand what the problem is (and I have had a LOT of car problems). If I can wait on a repair, they tell me. Theyre not just out to make a buck. HIGHLY recommend this place.
I was on a road trip and ended up in Boulder, CO. My Nissan xterra developed a rattle, I know nothing about cars. We wanted to get it checked out so we stopped by the first shop we found, they couldnt work us in but strongly recommended Slipstream. The guys there were awesome, they worked us in right away. The mechanic showed us that it was just a heat shield rattling.He also checked the brakes and adjusted our tire pressure since we had mentioned that we were going to drive Trail Ridge Road. I thanked them and asked how much I owe and they said nothing. We left with the peace of mind knowing that the car was in good condition.

Nothing but great things to say about Slipstream. I will be driving about 10,000 miles across the country in my 89 celebrity this summer, and have nothing but faith that it is going to make it now because of slipstream. It was like driving a brand new car when I left their shop. The most impressive part about them was the fact that they gave me time. They were understanding of my situation, and gave me the time underneath the hood to walk me through step by step of the things that were necessary and unnecessary, they gave me the time to make my decision, and they took the time to go out of there way to pick me up and drop me off places while it was getting fixed. I will recommend all of my sisters and friends to go here, and you should go here to!
Always willing to get my car in and repairs are completed quickly. This is not my usual mechanic and is slightly more expensive, but, they are honest, polite, and fast.

I was traveling from Salt Lake City to Boulder then back when my car ran into problems. I was referred to Slipstream Auto by another mechanic who Id talked to but was all booked up. I worked with Bill Pichardo (who I believe is the owner) and found him very polite and helpful. He and his mechanics performed several diagnostics including a test drive. The causes of my problem werent entirely clear (not even to Honda later on) but he offered to move me up in the repair queue given that I had to get back to SLC soon.I was unable to stick around Boulder and decided instead to limp my car back to Salt Lake. Bill was kind enough to give me advice on which route would be best to take since my car had trouble going up mountains. I offered to pay for the few hours he and his team spent with my car however he declined the offer.Long story short, I found Slipstreams customer service exemplary and I would gladly give them my business if I had need and was in the Boulder area.
