Genes auto is the best mechanic shop that I have been to. This family run joint is so helpful and friendly, and made my experience so easy for someone that doesnt know a lot about cars. I recently bought a used car and they were instrumental in helping me avoid bad cars, knowing what to look for, and they even waived the price of inspection on a car that I brought in since I had been struggling with my search. The Currans definitely know how to run a business, as they value the customer and level of service far more than simply making money. Quality service at an affordable price! Will be returning.

Have been having my cars serviced at Genes for years for all the obvious reasons - great service, honesty and reasonable prices. Stopped in the other night at closing time just to get some air in a low tire. They offered to quickly fix the tire for me at no charge. Unfortunately I couldnt take them up on the kind offer as I was late for an appointment. But that offer shows what kind of folks they are!

Last time we went there, they got us in asap, since the door mechanism wouldnt let us close the door, and fixed it immediately. Earlier, they had worked on the security system (we have a 94 Ford Ranger) because it was draining the battery - figured out the mystery, which no one else had been able to diagnose, and fixed it, plus did a tune-up for what seemed to be a reasonable amount. They are smart, helpful, and easy to deal with. Were very happy we found them.

I was out of the country when our Ford Fusion broke down on my wife. She brought it into Genes and the diagnosis meant significant work. Being in a pinch and with me out of the country, we had to put our full faith in Genes reputation.The car now runs as smooth as Ive ever known it. Highest rated shop for many good reasons. The owner is very knowledged. Pricing is very reasonable. In my case this shop saved me money, since the other two places were cheaper but tried to add additional repairs when they were not necessary.

Every time I have called to make an appointment, they are able to take my car at my earliest convenience. When servicing my car, I am often surprised at how quickly they call to say that my car is ready for pick-up. Also, as my car gets older and needs repairs more frequently, the staff is very good at letting me know what the most immediate issues are and dont pressure me to do what is beyond my budget at that time. I dropped my truck off right before closing time Wed. Thurdsay morning they gave me a call and already knew what was wrong and had a quote for me. It was an easy fix so they had it ready for pick up Thursday evening. After doing some research I realized they charged me on the pricey side for something that was an easy fix. As a poor college student I would have gladly put in the time to do it myself for half the price. That being said they gave quality, speedy service, just watch out for the price.

While in from out of town, my car started smoking. I called them up and explained that I had to get someone to DIA the next day and really needed my car looked at that day. I dropped it off, and they had it fixed in about two hours. Maybe even less time. Very reasonable price, very nice/helpful people, and they gave us a lift to the bus stop. This would be my mechanic if I lived in Boulder.

I brought my car in to have the transmission repaired. The guys at the shop were incredibly friendly and quoted me a fair price. Even though I decided to get rid of my car rather than spend all the money salvaging it, they were still very helpful, and they helped me get my car towed back to my house. Ill be taking my next car here for any future repairs.

I took my old car to Genes for years and always got great service. When I bought a new car, I took it to the dealer for service because of the warranty, but a soon as the warranty expired I went back to Genes. They provide great service, with reasonable prices. The only thing better would be a free carwash right next door at Puddles!

Genes is top notch old school awesome. They provide great service and operate with honesty and integrity so I dont have to worry about being overcharged, overworked, or taken advantage of. Ive taken my car to Genes on 4 occasions and on 2 of those occasions Jason fixed my problem quickly on the spot for no charge. If I had gone to the dealership I would have certainly paid top dollar for what Jason fixed for free in seconds. That work ethic speaks volumes for justifying the repair that did cost me $600. Before doing any work I was consulted and the problem was thoroughly described. Im so impressed with Genes I will not take my car anywhere else. Genes will treat you right because they treat everyone right. I am highly skeptical of any sub-par reviews that contradict this one.

I was quoted a price of $1250+ for a new gear shifter (just the electronic part), given the part is on the pricey end but i was able to find it from $350-$800. This means they are charging upwards of $1000 for installation, where it took me, an untrained mechanic 15min to fully replace. Disappointing to say the least.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR CAR REPAIRS!I was planning a road trip and had them check my car out to make sure everything was okay beforehand. They estimated my costs at almost $4000 and basically told me I needed to rebuild my entire car! I only paid $4000 when I got it! I literally broke down sobbing in my car afterwards because I thought I wasnt going to be able to take my trip.I went to another repair shop in Broomfield (Randys) and they did the work for half the price and were much more honest with me about what was necessary.

I brought in a ten year old car with a lot of mileage that we are driving cross country to gift to a relative. Zack was very good about letting me know what needed to be done and then working with me to figure out what we needed to do to drive cross country safely and comfortably versus what eventually had to be done, but not immediately. He also let me know the guarantee will work at any Napa autocare center in the country which is nice. The work seemed efficient.

Needed a new transmission for my 03 Durango. A friend referred me to Genes auto repair for repair. They looked over my Durango and decided it was in such good shape (low miles, nothing leaking, ball joints fine, brakes, suspension etc) that I might want to spend the extra $400 for a certified transmission with a 100k 3 year warranty. I am sure that when I do sell my Durango I will easily be able to get an extra $400 for the brand new certified transmission with warranty. They offered me a loaner car and was able to fix my car within a couple days. Zack was friendly and explained everything in detail. Very happy with my experience with Genes auto repair in Boulder.

Got turned down for a simple egr repair pn a diesel engine dont advertise you work on diesels if you dont I guess my money not green enough

Genes tried to rip me off in the worst way. They told my wife we needed a new ECU (Engine Control Unit) because our 10yr old car that was running rough and along with a litany of other fixes wanted close to $1500. When specifically asked how they knew the ECU needed replacing, the mechanic looked her in the eye and said because I measured the current coming from the ECU to be too low.24hrs later, after spending some time on the internet forums, I bought a $73 solenoid valve from Advance Auto, spent 10mins to replace it on my car, and it has run flawlessly for the last 2 years.As the ECU was clearly NOT bad, there are only 2 possible conclusions: Genes was either incompetent or dishonest. Trying to intimidate a woman with tech talk is just stereotypical sleazy car repair shop stuff. The funny thing is, had I paid them the $1500 and experienced the same 2yrs of subsequent driving bliss, Id be one the reviewers on here touting the virtues of how Genes fixed my car right and treated me right and how it all felt so honest and trusting. Smile when you stab me in the back and I may not even feel it.Now, if only I knew how to stop them sending me txt messages every few months reminding me I need to bring my car in for service........
