Tony and Sarah are a great team! They assessed my 2008 Hummer 3 for any needed repairs before a very long road trip. The issues they found were professionally taken care of and done at a very fair rate.Tony is a master mechanic and absolutely knows his way around a vehicle.I will be taking all my vehicles to Boulder Auto Service for many years to come,
This is a great place to get maintenance and car care. Their prices are reasonable, the mechanic is very knowledgeable and explains things well.I always feel that I have gotten excellent service at a fair price. A big plus – – they have a really cute dog!I recently had to have a new compressor for my air conditioning, and Tony does a great job. I only had two days to get ready for a trip to Wyoming and he does it on time and it works great.I will definitely continue to take my car here
These guys are great! I had a trailer hitch put in and my rear brakes done on my Landover...very pleased with both services. I will definitely be back and highly recommend!
Boulder Auto is a great place to have my autos worked on. The mechanic is really great and very knowledgeable.
My alternator quit, I was 1,700 miles from home and desperately needed the vehicle as my son was starting classes at CU. It was towed to the shop late on a Monday, diagnosed and parts ordered before the end of the day and I had it back by 3:00 on Tuesday. Yeah, pretty happy with the quick attention and repair. Thanks folks...
We had a hitch put on our 2021 Sienna and they did a great job. We have heard nightmares about other places in Boulder for putting on a hitch so it was great to find a quick and professional operation to get it done. Also much more reasonably priced than going through the dealership.
I have never felt the need to review an establishment for bad service until this one, and for that I feel bad. With all of the great reviews, it is disheartening that I wasn’t treated with the same professionalism as others. My boyfriend and I got screwed over by uhaul and had to find a trailer hitch as well as someone who could install it for us day of or the morning before (large request I know). There wasn’t one phone call I made that expected a business to say yes on such short term notice. I called Boulder auto service and repair and was met with extreme rudeness on the phone by the female who answered. I politely asked if that was something they could do and the woman (among other snotty remarks), said “there is no way in hell we would be able to do it.” A simple “sorry, no” would have sufficed. The conversation continued until I couldn’t take the demeaning attitude anymore (neither could my boyfriend in the next room over) and I hung up. I feel astonished that such a highly rated local business would have such terrible customer service and I hope that they will be able to fix it in the future. Seeing as they like to argue with customers in the reviews, it doesn’t seem likely (see unprofessional reply below) However, I will not be recommending this business to any of my peers and absolutely do not expect to try and call again.
Great service and fast turn around time. Sarah and Tony are very pleasant to work with.
Clear, friendly, very easy to communicate with
I spent $400 on these guys to install a wiring system to pull a trailer and it was a total waste as they first werent able to install the system that I gave them. Then, when they tried to put in their own aftermarket system, they said it would be no problem to install and function properly. However, the lighting electronics on modern vehicles dont operate with standard DC current as on older vehicles. This means that the wires they tapped into arent sending any voltage to the tail lights for specific bulbs to operate. I had to take everything out and scrap the entire thing. $400 down the drain.
Fast and affordable radiator repair. Would use them again.
They put a Trailer hitch on my new 2019 Jeep Cherokee. Fantastic job! I usually do it myself but since this was a brand new vehicle with a bunch of sensors I didnt want to mess with it. The price was reasonable and the workmanship was outstanding. I would trust them with my vehicle for sure.
I have had great experiences with this company. They have twice fitted a tow bar to my cars, (different years) also rent out vans etc.I recommend them for, quality of work, professional customer service and on time completion.
They were honest, professional and timely. Good prices too
Asked them to install a hitch on my car for a bike rack and they said they could do it, but theyd have to purchase hitch and Id have to pay for it up front. No problem -- figured they wanted to make sure the hitch would fit my vehicle and there were wouldnt be any missing parts. Both Curt and DrawTite hitches were available at etrailer.com and the owner assured me that were basically identical. Given that I didnt express a preference for which they ordered as they were basically the same price. While the two hitches are the same from an installers perspective, it turns out they are *not* identical from a users perspective since the receiver is located at a different position relative to the rear bumper. I checked the specs on etrailer.com for the one they ordered and it clearly would *not* work with my bike rack. I called to discuss and when looked at the exact same images on etrailer.com (which also show the distance from the hitch to the bumper) the owner claimed that as far as she could see these two hitches were the same. I pointed out that based on the installer videos the Curt hitch receiver is recessed 2 behind the bumper whereas the DrawTite hitch receiver is 6 from the bumper. She insisted that to her eye, looking at pictures of the installed hitches there wasnt really much difference. My first gripe is that when viewing the same images at the same time (while on the phone together) the owner tried to convince me that there wasnt a difference between a receiver that was 6 versus 2 from the rear bumper. Maybe for some folks this 4 discrepancy wouldnt matter -- it does to me because my rack would only work in the 2 case. When I explained this, the owner was unwilling to send the hitch back and order the correct one for my application. I even offered to pay the return shipping (since it was my fault for not clarifying which of the two hitches I needed installed) or to share the cost in some other way if the hitch didnt work out, but she brushed that off and kept trying to convince me that the hitch she ordered (and Id already paid for) would work. Ignoring the dimensions shown on the images in the installer videos at etrailer.com, she explained that installed hundreds of these hitches on my vehicle and in her experience customers were really pleased with the clean installation and the way this particular hitch looked when installed.By this time I was pretty sure they had ordered the wrong hitch so since Id already paid for it I decided to bring it home and do some more careful measurements using my rack before paying to have it installed.I went back to etrailer.com to look at the installation video (so I could see where the hitch should be installed) and realized that Boulder Auto had charged me a total of $185 for the *exact* same hitch that I could have ordered myself for $117 (including shipping). Recalling our initial conversation (where the owner explained that they would only install a hitch that I paid in advance for them to order), it was clear the, we have to order the parts on your dime paid in advance was simply a scam to rip customers off.Between the extra $70 they charged me for my hitch and the owners insistence that despite the 4 difference in receiver location the hitch would still work I decided to take my business elsewhere.Maybe this shop is more competent with other automotive repairs, but given the mix of outright BS from the owner and their inflated parts cost scam I wouldnt go near this shop again.
Bought my car from Boulder Auto and had the best experience. Dave and the rest of the staff are so friendly and made the process so much easier than I thought it would be. I never felt pushed to buy anything unlike other places I searched and got a quality car for a great price. They are super responsive and I definitely suggest checking them out wether you’re buying or just need maintenance!
I can not speak to the service center side however if you are buying a used car here think twice! Also if you are interested in the Dodge Ram 1500 Eco Diesel that they currently have in inventory for 22,999 talk them down, they only paid 18,100 for it. They are dishonest and below are the reasons for not going to them at all:1. Dave had all day to tell us that they had taken $764 dollars off the truck trade in and $493 dollars off the c-max trade in. Instead, they slid it in at the very end of the day in paperwork only when they knew we are in a rush and did not speak to us about it at all. We fixed the truck that day spending $575 trusting they would honor the trade in amount they said yes to.We got a line about how each car had that amount in fixes. However, when I just went on the website they fixed nothing on either car and the priced them still to not reflect the damage that cost us almost $800 in trade in value.2. On the truck alone they are set to make 5 grand but needed to screw us out of $764 for fixing nothing.I am beyond disappointed and feel taken advantage of. At least the big dealers would have been honest about what they were going to give us for each car without sneaking in at the end. What you did was way worse.A very disgusted former client.Chelsea
Looks to be a very disorganized shop from my dealings with them. Cool dog though!
Went in to look at a 4runner with a friend. Thought due to condition of car we could come to a better negotiating price, wrong. They dont negotiate prices. Ok I can and will pay a little more if the asking price reflects the condition of the car. First off was never told in the ad or test driving it that it had hail damage. Luckily i am keen to looking out for myself i check everything, lights outside and inside, all doors close, windows roll up down, 4x4 works, power everything working. Some car sales places will want this in writing as a we fix or some just make you happy in fixing non working lights and power equipment to satisfy you not sure about this for them but they carry a higher review score. I was just displeased in not being notified about hail damage and no mention of it but want premium money for it. The tires were of bad condition to with 5 to 7/32 and it had 3 different brand tires. Salesman sales as long as its the same dimension its ok. I hope you buy 3 different tires for your car then. You text and say what will it take to earn my business well if you can negotiate what the car is worth with all the bad things then I will do business with you but dont think you have the upper hand in a low mileage 4runner on me with hail damage and rust on upper back window and 3 different tire sets. Dont lie or hide hail damage from customers, be truthful upfront and you get real truth good review from me.
Good auto shop with trusted mechanics and good communication. They have been around for a long time and have always done a great job. If I didnt have to take my car to a specialty shop these days - I would bring it here. They are always flexible and honest about timelines and getting things fixed. Ask them what can be done and what can wait and they will tell you honestly. Knowledgeable about many different cars and they take time to explain things even if you (read: me) know absolutely nothing about the problem/ piece/ car. The are also a haul location and have packing materials which is helpful. One downside to the place is the small parking lot that you have to make a u-turn to get to. Thanks for many years of trusted service! Take your car or truck here if you want to have your vehicle fixed in a reasonable time and with great mechanics. The owner is kind and straight forward with her info about your current car problems. Great attention to details on your car and you as a customer. Located in a decent area of town and with enough mechanic bays to service multiple cars at the same time. The mechanics and owners have been doing this work for a long time and know what they are doing.
I have used these folks for years (they used to be Baseline Auto) to repair and maintain my vehicles and they are Great ! I have always found them to be responsive, fairly priced and knowledgeable. I have recommended them to several of my acquaintances, most of whom remain ongoing customers and I have never heard of a bad experience. I recommend Boulder Auto highly.
I have always received excellent service from Boulder Auto Sales and Service but this most recent visit truly showed their commitment to precision and certainty as well as general compassion for their customers. Over the course of this month I have had countless issues with my car in which ever other mechanic has failed to be able to diagnose or is willing to try, they have replaced wrong parts or simply turned me away when I was alone on the road. When I finally got back to Boulder, Boulder Sales and Service truly went above and beyond. Spending many hours to make sure they correctly diagnosed and fully fixed my car. They only charged me 1 hour of labor costs when I know they put in 5 or 6x that.I know this is a great establishment not only from their service- which no other mechanic has been able to do, but also the fact I felt cared for and safe when I got back into my car to drive home. I am so grateful.
Dave and Mark went above and beyond to take care of me. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a vehicle. Great Customer Service!!
Dave Noel is a Specialist in ALL makes and Models, But was instrumental in Steering me BACK towards my TOYOTA purchase. Would HIGHLY recommend checking them out
Another Great Experience. Excellent, Friendly Service. I just call Sarah @BAS and Walla!, she gets me in and the work gets done expertly at a fair price. [My cars are 10+ years old so I need an independent shop I can trust!]
Dave was amazing! My fiance and I found ourselves just chatting with him and not getting anything done. He was so knowledgeable about the car we were interested in, we left with no questions. There was no pressure to buy either, and they respected my privacy. Didnt call and hit me up constantly after my first visit. If they have a car youre interested in! Use them :)
Hitch installed quickly at a reasonable price.
I needed a tire swapped from my bent rim to a new one. Boulder Auto Repair did it quickly and at a good price. They did not try to sell me anything I did not need and the job was done right. Thanks to Sarah and her team for a job well done!
Without a doubt, the most reliable and efficient service Ive ever had in 18 years of driving. The owner, Sarah, is very professional and returned my calls and emails within the hour. I knew every step of my car repair before it was done and along the way. Another company in town was quoting me at close to a month for the car to be repaired and within days, Sarah had it back to me for a reasonable price. I absolutely recommend Boulder Auto Service and Repair 100%.
Boulder Auto Service and Repair is a phenomenal shop and the only place I trust with my vehicles. I have had them work on three vehicles (a Chevy Blazer, Mitsubishi Montero, and Toyota Tacoma) and they have done excellent work on each one. I have never felt like Sarah or the mechanics were trying to pull one over on me. In fact, I went in with an issue once and when they were unable to diagnose it they let me leave without paying any fees...even after they spent well over an hour trying to replicate the issue I had been experiencing. This is a great company and the entire staff is a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an auto shop in the Boulder area!
I work near Boulder Auto, and take my car there regularly for oil changes. The work is great. Sarah is great. She always takes good care of me and is accommodating of my schedule.
I brought my vehicle in because I thought I needed new brakes. They checked them and told me I did not. A lot of shops would have just done the work. Unrivaled honesty.I brought it in for a second minor repair and was once again blown away by their honesty and great customer service.
I took in my new Model 3 here to get a hitch installed. They did a great job. They were very professional. Fair price, and timely service.
I’ve had Boulder Auto work on two cars and I’ve rented from their Uhaul “division.” They provide solid auto service at a better price than I’ve found anywhere for comparable work. And, just as importantly, they treat you like a human being, not a $ sign. This week, in fact, I took my Saab in to them because Just Brakes said that I needed front brakes and rotors. Boulder Auto took the wheels off and told me that the rotors were fine and I had 60% left on the brake pads. Tell me who you’d go to from now on?
Very hard to find a shop to install the hitch in my 2016 Audi, they did a great job.
Ive had a lot of terrible experiences with auto garages, but these guys are great. Definitely my first choice when I need anything done!
Boulder Auto Service is run by honest people you can trust. What more do you need?
Very prompt in returning calls and giving estimates for work. Would recommend to anyone. Convenient location along the Jumpbus line as well.
Been using them for about 34+ years now. Reliable service, good prices, pretty accommodating to your needs and they do good work. Ive never had any issues after getting work done on my car.
I have been taking my car to Sarahs shop for over 15 years because they have great service, as well as being fair and honest in their work. Highly recommend Boulder Auto Service.
When I have problems with my old car or it is due for maintenance service, I make an appointment at Boulder Auto Service and Repair. For me, having a safe and reliable means of transportation is a priority while the outer appearance of my car matters little. I trust Sarahs repair recommendations and when the mechanics at the shop finish working on my vehicle, I know I can depend on it getting me to wherever I need to go.
Quick service. Good prices. Friendly people. Clean and comfy waiting room!
I bought a 2015 rzr 1000 xp and the first time I take it to the trail less the 45 mins I get a check engine light on. I don’t think they inspect there inventory right. I message them to see if they could do something about it I’m still waiting and they promise me they were going to fix my stereo never did.
We had Boulder Auto Service install a new trailer hitch receiver on our SUV, and they did a great job. I recommend Boulder Auto Service highly!
Bought a Subaru Outback from Scott and Dave. Great communications throughout the quick process of buying this car. It was clean and serviced. I had no question about driving it 1000 miles to WI the next day.
I came to Boulder Auto Service for an inspection after getting a lot of mixed reviews from various chain mechanic shops around town. I loved Boulder Auto Services honesty and timeliness! I will be returning here for future check ups and car work.
I have been taking our 2 cars to Boulder Auto Service and Repair for several years. They have always done a thorough job, pricing has always been fair and I have been kept informed with any issues to be addressed. I highly recommend them.
Always get great service when my car gets worked on!!
Called yesterday about seeing a car they had for sale the guy said he was out of the office an couldnt show it till today and to call today, called today and somehow it already sold, not sure how since he wouldnt give me a time to see it. Seems super fishy.
I have always found Boulder Auto Service to be responsive, quick, high quality, and fairly priced. Good place to take your car.
Great service by fine people. I would recommend highly.
Fantastic job installing a trailer hitch on my Tesla Model S-- They are awesome folks !
We recently moved from another community with a local mechanic too Longmont and have been looking for a team we can trust. We have had a good trusted experience with this team
Great work and service all good. fast and fair service no pressure.
Changed my oil. Did er up good. Thanks guys!
At first this place left me with a great impression but as I did some more research I became pretty disappointed. I was baited by the promise of a low monthly payment and no dealer fee. I was interested in a certain car, and the dedicated salesman for that car was out of town so I talked to someone who was nothing but pleasant. I was pretty interested and I was told to come in the next day and talk to the correct salesman at 9. This salesman should have known he had an appointment at 9 which made it concerning when nobody was even at the shop at 9. I had to wait around 15 minutes which was particularly annoying since I was missing work.Being an informed consumer, I did my research before coming and both Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds valued the car at under $10k; they were asking $14k. So my only real goal was to talk the price down. The salesman I worked with was rude, consistently interrupted during the conversation, and was arrogant about the price. He kept trying to justify the high price by selling me on random features that I said in no uncertain terms were of no use to me; apparently a 12 year old GPS and a trailer hitch I wont use justify charging 140% of the reasonable value of the car. The car also had one tire which was in substantially worse condition, which was especially off-putting on such an expensive used car. It becomes even more unacceptable when they had new tires for it but apparently couldnt be bothered to put them on. Another red flag for me: the car in question was a hybrid and I was concerned about the condition of the battery. The salesman was very confident in its condition but wouldnt back that up with an inspection. By his own admission they did minimal work on the car, which doesnt inspire confidence and means they cant even begin to justify the price they were asking for. Despite all this, the salesman wouldnt bring the price down to anything reasonable. This is all to say, if you plan on shopping here (a) dont go in expecting a good deal, (b) prepare to deal with more unpleasant than usual salesmen, (c) do your research, and (d) absolutely be prepared to walk out. Their business model is clearly to buy used cars cheaply, do minimal work to them, and convince people that the car is suddenly worth substantially more.If youre looking for a good deal and a pleasant shopping experience, look elsewhere.
Uncommonly amazing customer service and technical expertise. Highly recommended!
Thanks for all of your help over the years!
They use spam text messaging advertisements! While I had service at some point in the past that I dont remember being bad, they have begun sending spam text messages to clients as advertisements. This is an inappropriate way to advertise.I suggest to use another repair shop that does not support this practice unless you enjoy the frequent spam calls/messages that already occur every day and would like more advertisements coming your way.
I have been going to Baseline Auto for over a year now. They worked on my Subaru Outback and now I am taking my Honda CRV to them. Rick, Dean and the rest of the crew are courteous, professional and I feel that they shoot straight with me at all times. They never have made me feel pressured into doing any particular work and make me feel comfortable in what I choose to spend my money on in regards to repairs. I look forward to a long relationship with them.- Rod Mazzone
Excellent and quick service, very fair pricing. I take my car here for all needs.
The only reason I did not give this repair shop 5 stars was that I was not notified when my car was done. My general inspection was great and the staff was very friendly and receptive.
Boulder Auto Sales & Service were quick & affordable to get me in and install my new hitch and wiring.
Honesty in a auto mech. Shop?! Thank you baseline for doing what was best for me! Van drives great!
Honest folks you can trust your car to.
I felt I was treated fairly and, though I ended up being unable to repair my car, I was very satisfied with the service I received.
DO NOT GO HERE. I brought my Audi in for emergency service. Was told the radiator needed to be replaced. The next day I was told the water pump as well must be replaced, I said fine and the did the work. I asked multiple times for a quote of my timing belt and was given an off the cuff Ohhh well $1500 when I told the woman that I had been quoted $800 she just seemed to shrug her shoulders and never provided me with any real quote. My car broke down two days later and was towed again. It turns out that the timing belt was put on incorrectly on my car and the water pump was NEVER replaced. If the water pump was replaced it was an older and used pump they replaced it with and charged me $200 ($280 originally but I told her that was overpriced to which she replied well I have to make money) I am being told by Boulder that they never touched my timing belt which would be impossible since my water pump was replaced and my timing belt was now incorrectly placed back on, Im sure it didnt just shift on its own for the first time. When I called to discuss these issues with the owner I was hung up on multiple times and told that I owed her money for the faulty job. Considering how no collection attempts were made I can only assume they noted the fault in their work and were more interested in severing ties with me then working to address the issues.I would and will NEVER go back and I WILL be updating this post with photos of the water pump and timing belt.
They took care of me and gave me great service when no one else would! If I could give ten stars I would!
Fast, fairly cheap compared to other places, and kind. They are a little out of the way though, good great otherwise.
Edited Review: My original review can be found below but when I saw what the owner (Sarah) wrote I decide to change it. I understood that I got a 50% of discount. I even mentioned that in my review. I also mentioned that the mechanic (Tony) was very nice and helpful. What I found rude was the lack of interest in the customer and how I felt like I was a burden on this women for giving her business. All of this is in the original review bellow. The fact that she wrote a response and ignored all of this and defended herself in a very rude manner is the reason I went from 2stars to 1. Nothing against Tony or u-haul. As a business owner I understand a friendly face and making your customer feel welcomed and heard is crucial. Sarah does not understand this. Once again all in the original review bellow.Original review:Honestly Im a bit 50/50 on this place. The uhaul I rented worked ok but kept shorting out one of my fuses. Not a big deal and the mechanic Tony was very polite and helpful. The lady up front Sarah on the other hand was very rude. While in the end she did refund me a day due to the trailer blowing fuses she never said thank you for your business, talked to me like I was bothering her and taking up her time, and rarely looked me in the eye.Im not saying dont go here. Im sure Tony and his team are amazing. Just a shame there isnt a friendlier face up front. Makes a huge difference and I probably wont go back for that reason alone.
Good mechanics, reasonably paced repairs and maintenance, fair folks
Great honest dealer you can trust
I called at the last minute before a road trip after I discovered a coolant leak, and they fixed it on the spot! Thanks so much!
Great and friendly service! Have taken multiple cars here and will continue to.
We needed a replacement hitch for a Subaru outback at work. This place keeps them on hand so there customers can have one with out the hassle of waiting and rescheduling. I. Like an automotive sales and repair that looks after there customer.Everyone I met there was friendly and genuine. I would buy my next car from them thats for sure.
Quickest, most affordable mechanic in boulder!
Professional and attentive auto service
Money hungry disrespectful people. Smile in your face but thats a mask
Friendly service.
