This is my husband’s favorite pastas restaurant. He brought me over there two weeks ago. At first I wasn’t really exciting about a “pastas restaurant”. I simply didn’t want to pay for pastas. But those pastas. THOSE PASTAS. THAT IS SOMETHING! I love this place, it’s tiny so don’t try to come in big group...but it’s perfect for an usual and original date. The food is wow, so well cooked, explosion of flavors in the mouth! Don’t hesitate, GO THERE!

WOW! This place is really great. my boyfriend and i both ordered fuzzuli noodles with the meat sauce. i got feta cheese and my boyfriend got bacon bites in there, along with that we also got meatballs. the pastas together were $35 and the meatballs were $5 for 5. The meatballs are a good size, they do NOT skimp you in anyway. They fill up the bowl all the way to the top. The wait was about 25-30 mins, which im guessing gives them enough time to boil the pasta and get the sauce on it. The pasta was super hot !!! Very very good and flavorful. We WILL be coming back here again!!

I order(ed) from here at least once a week. The driver usually calls when the food arrives. Tonight the food was just left outside without so much as a call. My neighbor tripped over the bag when leaving the building... so you can imagine what happened to my food. The food is tasteful but I will not order from here again.

I work in Boston a couple of days out the week and I always google food near me. Lillys had popped up and decided to give it a try and Im glad I did. Absolutely one of the best Pasta Dishes I have ever had. The Pasta was fresh the portion size was unbelievable I had it for lunch yesterday, and had enough leftover for dinner for My 7yr old daughter and myself. I got the Tomato and Basil sauce with meatballs and sausage I was expecting 3 meatballs at most I had so many I couldnt count and they were definitely not small. Highly recommended this place

I am not a big pasta fan until I ate at Lily Gourmet Pasta Express. Ive worked in the area for about 9 months and this was my first time eating here. My son and husband had their hearts set on eating here. From the minute I walked in Tyler was great from helping us figure out how to order.....to giving us tips on what to add. EVERYTHING....EVERYTHING was delicious!!! The staff is so friendly and the spot is so freaking cute!!! If you want a great plate of pasta from really great staff.....order from Lily! I am shocked that Lillys doesnt have more reviews! The restaurant has a casual setup, yet I ate one of the best pasta dishes Ive ever had (the mushroom raviolis). I felt extremely welcomed from the moment I walked in, and I enjoyed the positive nature of the employees. It is not easy to find real (not boxed) homemade pasta when going out to eat. This pasta sets the bar high! I hope they continue to do well.

The delivery driver was nice but the owners/managers were very rude. I tried to pay with a gift certificate and he said he couldn’t accept it. I said I was explicitly told I could pay that way on delivery so he called his manager. Even after I told her I just got out of the hospital and can’t come down to the restaurant just to hand her my gift certificate she wasn’t going to let me have the food. I told her it was my dinner and I didn’t have anything else. Luckily the driver talked to her for me and eventually was able to take the food. I feel like if they’re going to be that serious about gift certificates they should write “only redeemable in store” or they shouldn’t deny someone like that. It’s poor customer service. The food was okay, the bread was really good and my friend’s salad had bacon on it even though we didn’t ask for it and she’s a vegetarian. Next time I get a gift certificate to this Place I’m probably going to just get rid of it because it wasn’t really worth the trouble.

Wow! The food was fantastic. Do not let the small storefront and the word express fool you! This place has all the flavor and quality that we expect in a restraunt. The pasta that they make is all fresh, and the lobster ravioli with crab meat cream sauce....... It was phenomenal! The best part of our experience was not the food but Tyler! He was patient while we took our time ordering and ensure that we got exactly what we wanted. And when the order was done, it was done to perfection, even to the extra sauces that people generally forget. It was interesting experience because this other worker was yelling about tips and honestly very inappropriate- but Tyler stayed calm and continue to hustling through the waves of orders, while giving customers the customer service that was deserved. He is an asset to this company, for he is a hard working guy! Will definitely come back when we visit!

I want to preface this review with I am a very picky (definitely annoyingly so) Italian from northern New Jersey. I generally do not even bother with Italian in Boston since most of it, in my opinion, is horrible and often drenched in red pepper to make up for the fact they dont know how to make sauce. One day I decided to give this place a shot and now I get take out from here all the time. Definitely not a sit down kinda place since there is limited seating and it can be cold in the winter but the pasta and sauces are really great. I cant speak to anything other than the pasta because I dont think sub when I read Gourmet Pasta Express but maybe thats good too. Definitely worth ordering from here especially since they dont charge a delivery fee.

Despite how it looks, this place makes amazing pasta. Stopped by Friday night with a roommate and a friend and built our own orders. The alfredo with whole wheat pasta, caramelized onions, and mushrooms was exactly what I was craving. My roommates butternut squash ravioli smelled and tasted very good. Garlic bread was fresh out of the oven and nicely toasted. The only down side was waiting for the food. Since we lived so close by, we just walked over. Half an hour later, we walked out with our food. To this places credit, it was very busy when we arrived and a big group arrived to pick up an order they had called in. But while we waited, the guy taking the orders gave us a free cookie.Next time, and there will be many future times, we will take their advice and just call ahead.

I am sitting with a friend at the Brigham and Womens Hospital ER and knowing it was going to be a long wait, we reminisced about the best takeout foods weve had over the years, and that when we realized how close we were to Lillys, one of the places on our list!Knowing we had approximately 5 hours of waiting, I went over to grab some food and it was delicious as always. The mushroom raviolis are huge and stuffed really well, and paired with the red sauce is great and hearty. Added the breaded chicken and they definitely didnt skimp on that, even for takeout! The location is super easy to get to walking or by bus, and with the windows open, its a super cute cozy atmosphere. It will be hot in there in the summer, cause I can only imagine the losing battle into trying to keep an open kitchen format restaurant joint like that cold would be.They also have giant sketchbooks on the counter that you can entertain yourself in, and I found the ones my friend and I did years and years ago.Overall, some damn great food, a cute location and always really nice counter staff and cooks!!

I called, inquiring about the order and the RUDE woman that answered the phone told me it was there, waiting for me. I was never called or notified, i was told my another worker it would be delivered. She pretty much told me i was a liar, but PROVIDED the delivery address i gave the employee when he said he would deliver it . When i asked if it would be remade, because their MISCOMMUNICATION, and having me wait over 2 hours. I was told no, it is super busy. No refund, no compensation. No apology!!!! One of Bostons hidden jewels..they make their own pasta fresh daily. Located in Mission Hill. Despite the North End being the Italian neighborhood of Boston and known for its Italian cusine..chances are, you might be eating Lilys pasta.. because these guys supply alot of the North Ends pasta. The beautiful thing about this place..is you can totally customize your meal. Pick your own pasta, sauce, toppings. Perfect for vegetarians and meat eaters. Places like this save marriages. If you dont want to customize, they have their own dishes also. Crab cakes are killer. Place is small, Id like to see them eventually move into a bigger place. I think they would do well. I really like and support these people.

Hey everyone. Just a heads up; if youre ordering from Lilys online be sure to be stupidly detailed. Ive ordered a steak n cheese from this place twice and both times Ive specified in the comments with everything plus hots. But apparently this place is the only restaurant that doesnt know what that means in regards to steak and cheese subs. Sad part is that the condiments and additional ingredients is what makes their dry subs somewhat tasty. Plus when Ive called to let them know they gave me a snarky attitude.
