This place have some pretty good cocktails as well as a huge selection of hard liquor. I loved the Old Fashioned with Basil Dark Rye.They also have some cigars with fair prices. But if you bring your own, there is a $15 cutting fee.The seating is first come first serve even though theres a hostess keeping track of the seating. And the staff seems short but they try to provide the best service they can.And the ambience is a dark speakeasy like place but it is definitely loud from all the people talking! Overall, its a great cigar bar and I recommend it.
Right after that pandemic ended and the city of Boston re opened its doors to its nightlife I stumbled upon this incredible hidden little gem in the North End of the city. Stanza dei Sigari not only opens a door to a speakeasy vibe lost in the roaring 20s but offers a great selection of sprits, exemplary melodies from the era, and cigars that fill the atmosphere with a flavorful spiced essence. This place is a definite must when in the area and are looking to relax and sit back. Thank me later!
Great cigar selection and great bar. Service was some of the best of our time in Boston. If you are a cigar aficionado youre missing out if you dont check this place out!
This place was very unique! We actually went to Boston to go to the speakeasy part of the cigar bar, but due to staffing and such is was closed. That didnt stop us though from enjoying this place! The server we had was very nice and very patient, especially since none of us smoked cigars, her recommendations were spot on!Not only was the service great, the whiskey selection was phenomenal! Never thought Id enjoy sipping on a scotch and puffing on a cigar, but this place made is happen. Also they have a great air filtration system, so it wasnt overly smokey in there which was an added bonus!10/10 will be going back soon!
Whether you love cigars or you dont, you should go. Very cool vibe and you feel like youre in the mob being down there
Such a cool hidden place to visit with a great speakeasy vibe and kind bartenders and cocktail waitresses
Fantastic cigar bar. Great service and great selection.
Cool place. Dark and a little loud but everyone is having a good time and they have decent smokes that were well kept upon delivery to the table.
Get the espresso martini, hands down one of the best in Boston oh and they have a superb cigar selection as well.
Great stop. Great history. Excellent bourbon and great cigar choices.
If you really want a cigar in downtown Boston, give Stanza Dei Sigari a look. Located in an old building in the Little Italy district of Boston, this place oozes history and character. However, their incredibly high prices and limited selection make Stanza a place you should go only if you are in a pinch
Great selection and service with an excellent speakeasy vibe.
This place is one of a kind. The atmosphere feels like you have been transported back to a perfectly preserved speakeasy era.....(minus the TVs! Of course) if youre an old soul and enjoy cigars, or the occasional smoke its a wonderful atmosphere. It is somehow very well ventilated! There is only one corner that feels like it gets a bit stuffy. The current manager, Hamza really takes care of the customers. The cocktails are great (but unfortunately I have to hate on the espresso martini....its far too sweet) great wines, spirits, and imported beers! (One of the only places we can find a good Peroni!)My ONLY suggestion would be to create a small are for a few live musicians. Or a record player/jukebox. 😊Overall, spectacular location.
Youre looking at an average of $20 per cigar. Really cool basement vibe with old woodwork, playing great new age music over the speakers; and not too smokey when I was there on a Tuesday night. Friendly staff and patrons (from what I found). Good place to have a cigar and continue on with your night.
One of the few places left to enjoy a cigar and a drink. Great place.
Favorite spot in Boston to have a smoke.. the place has been around for 100 years.. think 1920.. lot of history there in the heart of Boston Cigar prices are reasonable and the cigars are always prime.. the service there is also top notch... there 100 year old lease is up .. and they are still going strong but this cigar bar might go private with a possible cover for those who arent members.. so go get your smoke on
Nice atmosphere, good selection, service was a bit slow.
Super fun enjoyable time with very friendly staff!!
One of my favorite spots around the Boston area
Great cigar and cocktail bar.
Smoke is not filtered and coming up to the residence.
Good vibes good service
Best cigar bar in Boston
Cigar lounge got grandfathered when Boston banned indoor smoking. Full bar
Awesome bartender, great atmosphere!
For the only cigar bar in Boston, expect a crowd. The service was good... but the lack ventilation was a little much for these tourists. Neat history and setting.... just wish there were windows or opens doors! If you bring your own cigar, there is a fee unless you make a purchase from the humidor.
Honestly never smoked a cigar in my life and am not very into them. I reluctantly got dragged in here but was super surprised. The ambiance is relaxing and the service was top notch and friendly! MOST OF ALL the cocktails were out of this world. Best lemon drop Ive ever had. I had a second cocktail as well that was outstanding.
This place is closed. Looks shut down for good. Their Website & Facebook say they’re open. That’s not accurate. Wasted a $12 Uber. Update your hours!
This has everything you would want in a perfect cigar lounge. The smoke selection is decent rather than extensive, but the quality is high. The drink selection is huge, and the staff is fantastic. It has a perfect low-light atmosphere, and the patrons are respectful. This is one of my favorite places to do anything in Boston, and I never miss an opportunity.
My husband and I love this place. The waitresses are super friendly. The drinks are great. It’s a great atmosphere with dress music.
Best cigar lounge I’ve ever been to. Great cigars, great drink selection, great employees. If you like history, this is your place.
If youre visiting Boston and you enjoy a cigar, this is an awesome place to check out. My significant other loved the House Churchill Cigar, our cocktails were delicious, the atmosphere really preserved the 1920s speakeasy and the bartender Kate was kind and knowledgeable about the area! Will definitely return when we come back!
First time there and had a great time here. Also its the only place where you can smoke and sip on your drink and puff on your cigar or hookah. Thank you for the experience!🍀👍
I came here as part of a bachelor party celebration over Memorial Day weekend. I know next to nothing about cigars, so I was a bit intimidated by the wide selection. Our waitress, Rachel, was incredible. She was patient with my indecisiveness and recommended a cigar which I thoroughly enjoyed. She was funny and personable and has a great personality for this type of location. The atmosphere of the lounge was cool- the smoky and dimly light room helped add to the ambiance. If I’m ever in Boston again I would definitely come back, and to anyone reading this and on the fence as to whether or not they should go here I say do it! It’s worth it.
I come here everytime I am in town. I love this place! Great atmosphere. Service is good and friendly. Sometimes when they are busy (weekend evenings) it may take a little time to be served until they catch up, but then they are pretty punctual. Good selection of cigars, although not the largest by any means. They also have hookahs if you are looking for that. Overall, a great cigar place with a full bar in the center of the north end. Highly recommend.
Great atmosphere and the staff is very attentive. I stopped by twice on my short trip to Boston. They also have a decent selection of wine if you like to pair that with your cigar.
A unique cigar bar that is not for the weak of heart. Lots of cool history here and you know youre in the North End of Boston. Waitstaff very pleasant and helpful. Drinks fairly priced and worth every cent. Nice cigar selection, although a bit pricey. Ten dollar cutting fee to bring your own cigar. Place is a bit smokey, ventilation could be better, but its an old basement cigar bar...Overall, I enjoyed my evening!
I come up to Boston once a year for a convention and we always have to make sure to stop by Stanza for a cigar and drink. Great atmosphere and friendly service. We always enjoy our times stopping in!
Cigar selection could use a little help, but thats honestly just due to the popularity of the place. Our server was lamenting how her usual recommendations had all been smoked up. But its got tons of character, a broad drink pairing menu and some fun signature drinks. Considering the vibe of the place, they have a surprisingly refreshing playlist, as well. Ill be coming back.
Ok, so set your expectations appropriately. Its a cigar bar setup speakeasy style. The air is heavy, youre going to smell like smoke after, and its a dark lounge. They make great cocktails and everyone is friendly. Its also a good place to watch a game since thet have a bunch of TVs setup on the walls and behind the bars. Highly recommend is a cigar bar is your kind of place. One of the last of its kind in Massachusetts.
A friend and I visited Boston this past weekend. Stanza dei Sigari was recommended as a place to visit. It was the best place to end our Friday & Saturday night. Great selection of cigars, outstanding drinks, very friendly service, and a nice visit & greeting from the owner. We made one last visit on Sunday afternoon. If you want to experience Boston nightlife, front miss this place. 👍
This place is legit. You can bring your own cigar and enjoy large selection of booz. Wait stuff and bar stuff was super friendly!!
Servers were friendly and quick. I purchased a cigar and dont drink and they were totally awesome. Got me a water and even came by for refills which on a product that costs 0 is rare these days. Great service and good selection.
If you like cigars, a must visit! Speakeasy setting. Wood decor. Dim lit. Smoke. Pictures and cool stuff hanging on the walls. A few TV’s. Great crowd. Perfect pours.Eat at Carmelina’s or anywhere in the neighborhood, then get dessert at Mike’s. Get to Stanza and have a drink and a cigar (or a few of each).Cigars a little pricey, but they are cut for you and you get a pack of matches. A full service establishment.Bartenders have terrific jokes.A classic, authentic place to visit.
Great place to smoke cigars or hookah. A little pricey. Drinks are good too, but a little pricey (the whole area is usually pricey)
It’s the perfect cigar lounge. So glad I found it while visiting Boston...and I’ll definitely be back
Great atmosphere, respectable selection of cigars, reasonable prices and friendly clientele. I stopped in alone while on business and had great conversation with others.
Stopped in here when I was on the road. Decent cigar selection with good variety. Staff was friendly and helpful. Has a good old City feel to it.
Excellent atmosphere, great selection of Bourbon, Scotch and cigars. Great music to go with the underground flow. Prices make up for the relaxation vibe.
Probably the last place in Boston where you can relax and smoke a good cigar without having someone looking at you as if you were killing their kids. Friendly staff, great cigars at very reasonable prices, drinks are average but the main focus is smoking here so I dont mind. Will definitely go here again.
Very disappointed. Atmosphere was great, however. Ordered two cigars. One was dry and began unraveling halfway through. The waitress, Lauren, told us she couldnt do anything because the manager wasnt there. The other was an Ashton Churchill. The menu showed that the price was $26. When we got the bill, they billed us $38. When I brought it to the attention of Lauren, she said it wasnt posted to the menu. She apologized, but that was all. Unless you have money to burn, Id avoid this place like the plague.
Only cigar bar left at the moment. Place it alright. It is what it is. Five stars good low key spot.
One of the best cigar bars I have been to. The atmosphere is terrific with plenty of old-world charm. I urge you to take time to look closely at the wall decorations, there are some wonderful photographs and articles demonstrating how long this place has been here. The cigars are pricey and their selection could use a little updating. Ive been here a few times and have quickly become bored of their humidor list. However, you can bring your own cigar with a $10 cutting fee. They have decent bar with some great waitstaff. If you are into hookah, they do that too.
A cigar bar in the heart of the North End in an old speakeasy, you cant do much better. They have a great selection of cigars and liquors priced decently for its location. Even their house cigars are top notch.
Perhaps the only place in Boston where you can drink and have a cigar. Great old-fashioned ambiance. Decent cigar selection, if pricey. I brought my own cigars after my first visit and paid the cutting fee. Was there almost daily during my two weeks in Boston. Also, in Little Italy, so everything you would want was merely steps away. If you love cigars, visit Stanza Del Sigari.
Bar very equipped with selection whisky and bourbon, unfortunately the staff not as personable prices are normal for location. If you love to enjoy a cigar you male due. Atmosphere is like a typical bar uninviting. The search for a good cigar lounge in Boston continues..........
I love this place, but its closed in clothes smell like smoke for a few days after. I mean it is a smoke shop. Nice intimate setting for a large or small group
This is a great place to stop in the afternoon for a quick drink and grab a good stogie for yourself or gift. Caroline made me feel at home being in Boston for my first time! Loved it!
This is definitely a great place to begin or end a night. From the second you walk down the stairs into this establishment and see the Tommy Gun encased in glass above the door, you are transported back to a different era. Inside, it is classy and inviting with a lot of energy. The waitresses are extremely friendly, the cigar and liquor assortment is broad, and they even have hookahs for those not interested in cigars. The only down side is the cigars can be a little pricey and on occasion the ventilation isnt great, but that shouldnt deter you from visiting this change of pace cigar lounge.
Quaint cigar shop in the middle of the action. Nice relaxing atmosphere to have a smoke. Parking is hard to find but once you do you can have dinner and a smoke in walking distance of each other.
Came here from out of town to have a good smoke. Walked in with no one welcoming me. The sitting area was very dimly lit with the cigars in the back almost as if a after thought. When I walked up to the humidor they were all locked and limited selection. Furthermore there were no accessories for sale. Once the waiter walked past me to talk to people in the back for a good two minutes I left.
Hailed the server thrice was ignored. Tried stepping out to get some fresh air and got accused of trying to bail without paying. Approached bartender for water and was told to ask our server instead.Had recommended this place before to lot of friends, definitely withdrawing my recommendation.
This place has good collection of cigars, hookah and variety of drinks. Plays nice music and has very nice interior. A bit pricey and hard to find parking nearby but great place to hang out with friends compared to other cigar and hookah bar in Boston.
The ultimate cigar haven for those looking for a historic speakeasy feel and probably one of the only indoor places to smoke in Boston.
This place hasn’t been voted among the best cigar places in the US for no reason... Excellent atmosphere, perfect ventilation, the waitresses are super friendly. Cigars are a bit pricy to purchase, but I have always brought my own! We’ll definitely visit again!
I was happy with both of my visits to Stanza Dei Sigari this summer. Its a great place to cool down and relax with a good cigar, especially at daytime. Its a bit too pricey for me to visit this place often, but I will come back here again for sure.
A Boston landmark.
Great cigars and company. Doesnt get as smokey as you might think, and a decent place for non smokers to spend with their friends.
Great place. Good prices on drinks. Next time Im in the area Ill head back
Amazing cigar bar. Great atmosphere, great selection. Lots of booze choices. Will definitely go the next time I am in Boston.
I’m in the city for work so I just typed in hookah bars near me and this place came up. Im sure it’s fine if you want a loud sports bar that reeks of cigar smoke (I did see it was also a cigar bar) but I was expecting a hookah lounge that was relaxing.
Awesome!
Awesome, groovy mans cave. My absolute favorite bar in Boston!
Not bad as cigar lounges go. As mentioned in other reviews, VERY expensive. Cigars are, on average, about $10 more per stick than your typical cigar shop or lounge (Philly area). Not sure if this is all upcharge or Mass taxes. As for the bar itself, nice dark bar perfect for unwinding and smoking . Good selection of top shelf whisky.
Very cool atmosphere, not recommended if you have sensitive lungs.
If you want hookah there will probably be a wait but the staff is attentive and polite- especially the bartenders. Little on the pricey side but thats Boston for you
Interesting cigar shop/lounge. I didnt get the chance to sit and enjoy a cigar, but the staff was friendly and helped choose a smoke. Not the cheapest, but it was a great experience from start to finish. Nice selection of cigars, and the drink list looked extensive as well. Looks like a great place to relax, have a drink and a smoke.
Has seen better days. But it’s probably the last cigar smoker bastion on an otherwise wonderful city....
Pretty cool place to go. Gives a very upscale feel. Wait staff is great and very welcoming and helpful. They will have good recommendations on cigars and drink pairings.
This place is such a cool, hidden gem in the North End. When you walk downstairs, youre transported into what feels like an old Italian speakeasy, with large leather chairs, dim, romantic lighting, and a fantastic cigar selection. A great place to sit and sip bourbon with a cigar (if thats your bag) - or simply just sit and relax.
Hmmm, I am at an impasse here. The site, looks and selection were up to par. Nonetheless, while the attentions were accommodating were at times not engaging for the experience one typically look when visiting a dedicated cigar place. What really stroke me (one star down) is the lack of some level of ventilation (extraction mechanism). Dont get me wrong, I enjoy greatly the surrounding aroma of a good cigar, but at times it was unnecessarily saturated with everybodys. I do want to appreciate the one I picked. Maybe I went on a very busy day, maybe I have had different experiences but I believe the air needs some space for ones cigar to breath :)
Visited with a friend. Felt like I was back in the old days of the North End.... the history of the place is very interesting. Dont go if smoke bothers you... prices are reasonable.
One the best cigar shops Ive been in in the country. Unbelievable ambiance! Huge drink selection, great cigar selection. Excellent way to start or finish a night.
Quite possibly the last cigar bar in Boston. Great atmosphere in the North End. Try to go when one of the local teams are playing on the TV. Watched an exciting Bruins win and had a great time. Good selection of sticks and drinks.
I love this place very layback they need more jazz or blues..
