Don’t get pierced here. I got my nose pierced with them two months ago and it went great, the guy did it quick and it was painless. HOWEVER, when I went back to change the stud for a hoop the girl that did it seemed like she didn’t know what she was doing. It was very painful and she did NOT do it right. I went back again today to get the stud and she was the one doing it. The stud would not go in, she kept forcing it and it was extremely painful. Someone else had to come help her and they realized that she hadn’t done it right the first time and the hole had closed. They had to reopen the hole and it was extremely painful and I kept bleeding. I’m in a lot of pain. I do not recommend getting pierced here, very unprofessional. They didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience.

I had seen CJs work on Instagram & was extremely impressed with his line & color work specifically when it comes to traditional style tattoos. I reached out to him & he was professional & responsive which is a nice change for Instagram. Stroke of Genius is located in a very nice plaza in Boca Raton with plenty of parking & it was very easy to find. I was greeted immediately upon entering and the process of checking in was smooth. I felt welcomed & the shop was very clean & comfortable. CJ had the stencil for the tattoo ready to go on my arrival & made sure I was happy with it. He took the idea I presented to him & put his own twist on it which was very nice & what I requested. Ive been getting tattooed often for 16 yrs here in South Florida & my overall experience was up there with the top experiences Ive had. The pricing was fair & the quality of work was top level. If youre looking to get your first tattoo or your 100th I encourage you to reach out to CJ. I cannot speak to the quality of work from the other artists but Id imagine itd be quality. However, as with anything do your homework & ask questions. Remember in tattooing along with many things in life you get what you pay for.

My husband & I won’t go anywhere else for tattoos since I found Phil & Justin! We both had cover-ups done, my husband got a portrait of our son, & even some filler pieces. We’ve also seen a couple other artists at the shop & are never disappointed the work is always clean & well done & the staff & artists are wonderful to deal with. Will always recommend to everyone!

Hands down best experience I’ve ever had in a tattoo shop. Every single person there was so friendly and made us feel comfortable and welcomed which is usually not the service I get at other places. I had been looking for a tattoo shop and tattoo artist for years. I had previously been to SOG 7 years earlier to get a small tattoo. I later met someone who recommended the shop again. I was trying to decide what to get and reached out to Phillip on social media I saw some work he did and was instantly drawn to his work. We went back and forth for 2 years the COVID happened. I did see all the precautions they set and I went in he was amazing, professional the entire shop was friendly and I haven’t laughed so hard in years! I truly believe a tattoo is not only art but the transfer of energy you have to connect with the artist. I would 110%recommend him and the shop!! I am already thinking of the next piece to add! He is now family!!

I have severe anxiety and panic attacks and I texted Philip Wolves who was doing my sleeve beforehand and he bought me Starbucks!! I didn’t even ask! He also let me take a break when I needed it and gave me numbing cream to help. He was so sweet and invested in what I wanted out of my tattoo! He helped me calm down and become so comfortable that the last half of my tattoo went by like nothing! Everyone was so nice and the atmosphere was so chill! They are all such nice people and they are so chill and relaxed. The vibes are immaculate as one would say. I am so definitely coming back here for all my tattoos! I trust Philip with it all cuz it just came out exactly how I wanted it and he did it perfectly! They are very accommodating and understanding of mental health which is not seen a lot these days! Today I visited this shop in Boca to get my first tattoo ever. The moment I walked in I felt so comfortable and such a good vibe! This place is so clean and just beautiful to look at with all the art! This experience was so different than anything I’ve ever done in my life and I loved it! Overall the tattoo place is clean it’s not dirty nothing like that but for Piercing I felt that I could have a better experience just felt rushed in and out. I pierced my ear and they seem to be even however after getting home and looking they were completely off. The right side was more higher up and the left side was more down. As well the marker that was use to show where they were going to be was still there. After the piercing. It’s the small detail and taking time. Such as wiping off the marker and making sure they are even placed. Not a bad place was very nice it’s just the day I went it must have been a off day or something but it’s just them not taking time and doing those small detail that count.

Austin was my tattoo artist at Stroke of Genius. I got a new tattoo on my hand and I got a tattoo fixed. Austin is a great artist and fixed everything perfectly. Great service and price.

My friends and I were down here on vacation and we got tattoos done by Davey and Phillip. They were super nice and made us feel welcomed. The whole shop and it’s atmosphere is very friendly and laid back. The prices are relatively good and the quality of work is on point. Would highly recommend them to anyone even if you’re a bit nervous. My tattoo looks amazing and it didn’t take very long, wasn’t super painful, and is healing great. Oh! They give you a little aftercare kit and the soap smells like pineapple it’s soooo good!

Ive been to a lot of tattoo shops, and Stroke of Genius is now by far my favorite!! Phillip Wolves heard my vision and executed it better than I even imagined. Plus the shop is so clean and everyone there is super cool!

I went in with a friend to get a tattoo and a piercing, which was slightly spur of the moment. I had had a design in mind for a while and showed the gentleman a picture and for the most part it’s spot on. In two of the areas it’s a complete eye sore. The shading is terrible and the lines are definitely not great. I also had him go over another tattoo to refresh it since it’s very dear to my heart and he completely missed the lines as well. After the tattoo I got my cartilage pierced on my right side. Having it done was quick except now I don’t know how to take the piercing out as he did not show or tell me how to do so. The ultimate seal on not coming back was that neither of these professionals, so to say, told me how to clean and make sure that I didn’t get an infection.

Really genuine people there appreciated them for helping me out. DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMEND.

I’ve been going to this shop for a couple of years now and there is no where else I’d rather go to get tattoos and piercings. I’ve personally been getting tattooed by Davey and his work is phenomenal. I love literally every piece he’s done on me and he always exceeds my expectations every time. Also, the shop’s atmosphere and the people are so welcoming and it really makes you feel comfortable immediately when you walk in. She produced exactly what I wanted and was also extremely professional and sensitive to the fact that I was a bit nervous about the experience. Ive been going to this shop since I moved to South Florida 5 years ago. You cant go wrong with any of the artists there. Ive been tattooed by Apollo and Davey and now Phillip Wolves. Phillip is the man. Ive gotten three tattoos from him and each time he goes above and beyond. Just when I think I have my new favorite piece he does something even more beautiful. His attention to detail is amazing. I have a mermaid on my leg and you can see every strand of her hair. He really is an artist and puts his heart into everything he does. Every artist there is super talented and you cant go wrong with any of them.

Was referred to Justin @ SOG by a friends girlfriend who has had a good bit of work done some of which Justin is redoing to match his work which is FAR superior. I stopped by and showed Justin a pic of 1/2 of what my idea was. He not only designed the other 1/2 he totally exceeded my expectations for the final draft. Although I had to make an appt about 4 weeks out it was very much worth the wait!! I want to post pic but I’ll wait until it’s finished and colored to do so! I would definitely recommend this shop very clean and chill!! I can only speak for Justin’s skills but if the rest are even close this is a great shop!!

Decided to get my first tattoo here. Overall I had a great experience and Alex did an amazing job on creating exactly what I was looking for. Not knowing what to expect, he talked with me to get a feel for what I wanted, as well as offering his professional advice on how he could design the best design for me. I highly recommend Stroke of Genius to anyone looking for a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, as well as great artistry. Super clean and I will definitely be returning.

No doubt Justin is talented, and super nice. But I drove down from Boynton for a quick consultation. Paid $50 for a sketch that I was to review in a couple of weeks. Once completed, I drove down again to view the sketch. I couldnt really visualize his idea from the sketch without any color or shading so he offered to add shading and email me the results by 7/31. I never got the email. I called and left a voicemail on 8/9 to follow up and never got a call back on that either. Its now 8/22. I had high hopes but was disappointed.

I highly recommend them to anyone! Their customer service was great and everyone was super friendly and accommodating. I felt very welcomed and comfortable there. They didnt overcharge either. Definitely the best shop Ive ever been too and I will for sure be going back to get my older tattoo from a different shop touched up there.

They may be good with tattoos but not as much with piercings. As a customer, I was expecting a better customer service but I didnt feel I was being valued enough. I had to go to another place in Boca to get my piercing redone because he missed my nipple the first time. At the other place they used titanium for my piercing, which healed in two weeks instead of 6 months with what A Stroke of Genius used (sergical steel).

DO NOT COME HERE FOR PIERCINGS WISH I COULD RATE ZERO STARS. Came here to change my nose piercing (which I had done elsewhere and previously had ZERO problems with) changed from a stud to a hoop. I know nothing about piercings and I still would have been better off changing it myself. The “piercer” who changed it was so rough that he made my HEALED hole BLEED for 3 days. Put in a ring that was so small on my nose that it dragged the piercing down my nose making it look like a SLICE. On top of all of this, the worst part of it all was that the “piercer” damaged the tissue SO BADLY and the quality of the new piercing that he put in was SO BAD that within one week of getting the piercing changed I had such a bad keloid that I had to get it SURGICALLY REMOVED.

Shop is awesome. All the guys there are cool and Davie is a great a artist. I highly recommend SOG!

Ok. So I have debated this review and will be landing on 4 stars. I got a nose piercing and it was simply the easiest piercing I have ever had done. Just a quick pinch and it was over. The guy was obviously great at what he does - however - the bedside manner was a bit lacking. No names or greetings and I couldnt help like feeling I interrupted his dinner. Before I was even off the table - he was gone eating pizza. So great experience for a piercing. Just dont expect the warm and fuzzys from the piercer.

The Stroke of Genius (SOG) tattoo shop is conveniently located next door to the Rebel House restaurant. So after enjoying brunch with my wife we went inside to ask about the process and pricing. The staff was friendly and professional. Dave Graham, one of the stores tattoo artist, who also does piercings put me at ease so much - I elected to get the piercing right away. It hurt very little, and I have been immensely pleased with the result. Great shop! Highly recommended.* As a footnote: military aficionados will recognize the stores SOG moniker. The business is owned by a U.S. Army veteran and former paratrooper.

Tried to charge $300 for a 3-4 inch tattoo on ribs. The sketch was nothing like the image I brought in. NO DETAIL...I left and went to Aces High Tattoo in Boynton. The tattoo artist name Nate was amazing! He drew up exactly what I asked for, with such detail, for $120.
