Ive always received friendly service and good rates. I feel he is very honest.
Jim has worked on all my cars. Best shop Ive been to by far. Wish I was still in the Bloomington area to frequent the shop. Jim is a true enthusiast and honest which is what separates him from other shops.
Ive trusted Jim for many years. He is an excellent mechanic and very reasonably priced. Hes straight forward and provides excellent advice. I continue to rely on him for advice, even though Ive moved thousands of miles away. Its often a challenge to find a high quality mechanic who is honest and trustworthy, but I found that in Allroad Motorsports! I highly recommend him.
Was sold a boat motor from this place (pick up at ) as told by a employee (former) maybe.... but was told a good engine running drop in .Got home started on a engine stand, and it leak every kind of fluid from every know gasket and seals and to boot some gasket are missing. just down right lied to how do i know this been a tech for 30++ yrs so this biz may or may not be the place i would take something to, in my eyes guilty by association . i may be wrong the owner may not know whats going on when not looking Buyer BEWARE
Most reliable/honest mechanic Ive ever been in contact with. Id rate a 7/5 if it allowed me to.
Jim is the only guy I’m willing to drive 2 hours each way to have him work on my car. Knowledgeable professional and reasonably priced.
Super satisfied with this place! Jim is honest, reliable and very professional. You get the best service in town for only fraction of cost that other places will charge you.
Jim is always professional💯% and honest✅👍👍
This is a truly a great repair shop. Honest, reliable, fast and they do great work. I take both my vehicles there and have always been satisfied with their work. I was going to worldwide auto, but they said I needed a timing chain replacement when I didn’t, and there other repairs needed repairing after a week. Allroad took a look and instantly correctly diagnosed and repaired the problem, at a fraction of the cost. This place is a hidden gem and I am glad I found it. If you have an import I can’t recommend them strongly enough. Great work, great people, no hassles, easy to deal with and most of all fair prices and honest assessments. You can’t go wrong here.
Jim is an absolute expert in European cars! I took my Volkswagen Jetta there and he was able to fix the issues it had very quickly! He is reliable, professional and very friendly! Thank you Jim, you are amazing!
I have taken my cars to Allroad Motorsports exclusively for the last 8 years. Jim and his staff are the only ones that I trust to do honest work. I make the drive down from Indianapolis or have my vehicles towed whenever I have an issue and I have never had a problem with any of their work. I recommend this shop to all my friends, family, and even my clients. Superb work at unbeatable prices. Thank you for always being there, Jim!
Excellent service - Quick, professional and honest. Jim is a Euro-car genius. Very highly recommend Allroad Motorsports.
Took my VW Beetle in and they knew exactly what was wrong with it. Very reasonably priced, even fixed my headlight for me! Its great to find people who know how to work on these cars. Only took a day to get it back. 5 stars all around and highly recommended!
What a wonderful mechanic!! I was informed by another garage that I needed a new engine for $6,600. Had the car towed to Jim and he put a timing chain on and it is running perfectly! Saved me $5,500!! Highly recommend him!
This is the absolute only place to take your import. He actually makes owning a foreign car affordable! We brought our VW Tiguan in for a transmission repair and charged us an EXTREMELY fair price! I was blown away!! This is the second time our VW has been here and both times we were treated fairly and taken care of promptly. The guy running the place may seem a little short with his conversations, but I’m sure it’s because he’s a very busy man with all the business he’s got, so don’t let that deter you. He is very fair with his work. 100% recommend.
This is the place to go if you need service on your VW! I had a 2002 VW Beetle that had so many issues. Jim, the mechanic, is amazing! He fixed and serviced my car in a reasonable amount of time and the prices are unbeatable. He’s honest and flexible with scheduling. I can’t recommend this place enough!!
I have take my car to Jim at Allroad around 5 times and have had exceptional service! My Car started making a funny noise and he looked at my car let me know exactly what was wrong and did exactly what was needed to fix it. He is GREAT! I recommend him to everyone with a VW or import car.
I got my car repaired due to a broken cv boot . After the repair, I noticed that there was a tiny noise coming from the floor but it wasnt about a safety issue or a technical problem. It seemed working fine but bothered me. I thought maybe I was too sensitive (it was hard to hear) or this wasnt caused by the repair. I expressed my concern to Jim and he simply offered to replace it with another one which I didnt expect. He did another repair job for me and I really appreciate he has been taking care of my car carefully for last several years. He deserves to get a five star review.
I specifically buy VWs because of the trust I have in Jim. Very hard to find trustworthy mechanics. Jim is one of a rare breed.
Ive been taking my Audi to Jim for years and wouldnt choose anywhere else!
I moved into Bloomington in August 2016. I purchased a 1999 BMW 323i from a colleague. It needed some minor work. I found Jim, owner of Allroad Motorsports, on the internet (so, thank you, internet reviewers!). He has many positive ratings.Jim has exceeded my expectations.(1) What I get: Polite, pleasant, competent service. He would listen to my complaint and immediately get to work. Affordable pricing, gentle on the wallet. Rarely would his charges exceed what one might expect.Jim is a talented, experienced mechanic. He understands cars. He is sympathetic to his customers needs.(2) What you would not get. You would not get lots of handholding. And, you have to drive 5 to 10 miles to reach Jims sparkling, clean garage.I went to a national chain that begins with M to get the brakes fixed. (Jim had a backlog and could do it only after a week; backlogs, by the way, are healthy signs - it shows he is in demand). Theres a nice office and theres coffee. And, the desk person is there to talk to you for a long time and do as much handholding as you would like.By contrast, Jims office is nice with lots of latest issues of several magazines. But, no front office person. You press a door bell and Jim would come up and attend you. You wait and your work would soon get done. Or, if he has to order parts - come back in a day or two and get the work done.Later, I had to get the same work done on the front wheels. Jim charged me $300 (the M chain had charged me $400)I also had some problems with a backdoor. The M chain offered to examine it for a fee of $55, which I declined. Jim found that there was a child lock switch that was inadvertently triggered. He fixed it for free.(3) Other issues.I dont think Jim does emergency repairs. The earliest I would get an appointment would be two days. Yet, Jim is efficient and always working.Obviously, if you need duplicate BMW keys - Jim cannot help and you have to go to a dealer. Check other reviews to find what he is very good at doing and what he may not like to do.I found the best time to reach Jim over the phones are the mornings. An analogy: Going to Jim is like having an old fashioned personal physician. He may not have all the facilities and do all things that you might need. But, he knows your body and provides the best service for most of your ailments.By contrast, a big hospital would provide a whole range of services. Doctors and other medical personnel are unknown. Charges are high.My first choice is the good, old doctor. And, the good, old mechanic.
Great place to have work done on your vehicle. The owner is very knowledgeable and experienced.
Great service...Thank you!
Very trustworthy and reasonably priced. highest recommendations.and he has a shop kitty! (bonus points)
I have taken many cars to him over the last few years. This time I was very disappointed. He said to call when we were ready to bring it in and he would look at it no charge. Well, he charged us $35 to let it run for 30 minutes. We had to call him to see if he had done anything with it in 4 days and he said come get it, it was fine. Its not. This is the second time I have been disappointed with his service.
I have an 09 tiguan that was giving me fits! No one could figure out what was wrong with it. VW dealership was gonna rape me on TRYING to figure it out. Heard about Allroad..contacted and got it in quick. It was diagnosed within a day and fixed within a week! Truly impressed with the service and price. Had some problems contacting them until I found out that email is the best way. I wont take my vw anywhere else! Great job
