If you want to be ripped off then hire this business. They are a con and using another companys license. They use used parts, they never come back to do any repair, also have no office and use a vacant lot for a business address. Look at how they left my unit. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE FRAUD..I will be calling the license board.

Freedom installed our unit five years ago after our old one quit in us. Anytime weve had an issue theyve always come out quickly and got us back up and running. All for a reasonable price as well. The HVAC techs are personable, polite, and on time. Highly recommend.
Would not recommend or at least get a quote from someone else. They came (on a weekend at a good price) then told me my unit was low on R-22 and quoted almost $2k for 11 pounds of freon which is an insane markup. Informed us it would be better to just replace the unit as it is very old (true). He said it was iced up because the freon was leaking and freezing.Well I had another guy come out told me the unit froze up because no flow due to filthy coils. He checked the Freon levels with his meter and it had the correct level. He cleaned the coils, melted the ice, ran it on the fan and then fired it up and its back to working great.I have had them work on another house and they pretty much did the same thing which is tell me its at the end of its life and to just replace it, then send out a sales rep to quote a new unit.So overall a horrible experience and just glad they didnt scam me for the $15k in new units at my 2 houses. Go with a local guy, he will have your back.
When I had my two units replaced I had two attic exhaust fans installed also. These fans lasted less than a year and stopped working. I called Freedom and was told this would be under warranty and a tech would be out to look at it. Two days later the tech came and diagnosed the issue as the thermostats were bad and needed replacing. Two and a half weeks later and still no word on when someone would be out so I contacted Freedom again they said a tech would be that day. This tech shows up to replace the thermostats and said the motors appeared to be burned up because the original installer wired them up to bypass the thermostat causing them to run continually. He said the fans would need motors and someone would be out to replace them. That was 18 days ago and not a word from anyone. I called on Friday and was told that it would be Tuesday before anyone could tell me when someone would be out. Overall, this ordeal has been dragging out for almost 6 weeks to correct a problem they caused in the first place. In the meantime, the upstairs of my house is uncomfortably warm and almost unusable. Freedom may say they have great customer service but all I have experienced after they got my money was customer disservice. I strongly recommend to anyone look somewhere else before you do business with them.
My hat is off for the Freedom team. Ms. Tan went well beyond her duty to insure I’d have my repairs done promptly. Going out of her way to connect with my warranty company was a big help. Once Josh got to me for the actual repair, not only was he well skilled but he also took the time to educate are me on some measures that would save me money down the road. I highly recommend to anyone needing service to contact Ms. Tan. Somehow her efforts made this whole deal pleasant enough to handle. Thank you so much guys for every step you took to help me. Though the warranty company was a let down; the service and skill was top notch.
Blake installed an air purification system and ultraviolet lights to control moisture. He was knowledgeable and went over and above the basic installation. He repaired many holes in the duct work that the previous service company had pointed out, but did not repair. He worked late into the evening to finish the job. I highly recommend this company. Blake did a great job.

Replaced AC and furnace. I am one of those customers who overthink everything and ask too many questions. The technician who came out to bid on the job answered all my questions (patiently even!) and helped me choose the systems that best met my needs. He provided a detailed list of services that came with the installation and they performed them all.Each member of the installation team was just as courteous and responsive to my questions, and was able to explain what they did. Outstanding service. Called early in the morning and Freedom sent Aaron out that afternoon. Within five minutes he diagnosed the problem with my plumbing and determined a course of action. Once he had all the parts, the repair was completed in under five minutes. During the entire process, Aaron explained what he was doing and why. Super professional! Aaron even identified another aspect of my plumbing system that needed work. Will definitely call Freedom and Aaron for all my plumbing problems.
Had a toxic smell from vents. It turned out to be paint fumes sucked through the intake register and dispersed through house. He was two hours early, very caring and friendly. Would highly recommend him and Freedom to everyone.
Well my AC stopped working less than a year after the new system was installed. Service person came out and found a screw was through a wire nut that caused it to short out so an easy fix. Then tried to convince me to purchase a surge protector. I informed him that it was to be included when my system was purchased in 2020. Unable to get someone to call me to answer why it was not installed. They booked a service appointment to install the missing part but I wonder if there are other items I paid for that were not delivered. Once again still no call from a manager/supervisor/owner. So buyer beware they want your money not happy customers. Seems like after such an expensive system was purchased that a second person would come out to make sure that everything was in place and working correctly. However, that would reduce the profit that is realized so they get this review instead. No, one wants to address unhappy customers at this company. Just glad the short in my system did not burn down my house or burn up the computer board. Just wonder if it caused other damage I will be paying for down the road. Also to install the part they tried to sell me that I paid for the prior year they booked an 2 hour appointment and the person assigned arrived almost 3 hours after the 2 hour window, never got calls from a manager/supervisor to indicate things were running late.

Great service from beginning to end and very seemless. Great people willing to meet your needs. I looked around at different companies and found that Freedom Heating and Cooling was hard to beat.
Our 30-year hot water tank failed and James came to house within 45 minutes of my call. I was not able to get other service repair companies to come out for tank replacement on a timely manner. The failed tank was one of two tanks connected in series but the failure of one keeps the other one from providing hot water. On the spot James temporarily reconfigured my good water heater to provide hot water for us while he was collecting the replacement water tank and needed material to get our hot water supply back permanently. I asked him if he could configure my hot water system such that I would in the future be able to operate the good water tank if the other one failed and he said yes. The next day he arrived on time with all the parts and in 2 hours had the new tank installed so no matter which tank fails, we can still receive hot water from the other companion tank just by switching a couple of water valves. He did an excellent job and we were very pleased with his workmanship.

New HVAC installed 5/2019. Mother board just went out for 2nd time. 24-hr support need improvements, took 12-hrs to respond when the mother board went out this past Saturday afternoon. Technicians are great.

The original technician completed a thorough check of the old HVAC and provided a clear explanation of the issues with the system which I greatly appreciated. Turned out that it was better to install a new unit based on the number of repairs and age of system. They had another person verify the issues, provided several options immediately, and installed the new system the next day. All of the guys were on time, courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable making this a very good experience.

My appt was slated for 2-4pm. I left work early so that I could meet the technician at my home. At 4:15, I called Freedom and was told my tech was still on another job. The man said he would be late. Keep in mind, I reached out, not Freedom.At 509pm, a lady called and said the tech was late (ya think).At 647, the tech called and said he was 30 mins away. 😳 So approx 718ish, the tech arrived. I told him the fan was not coming on. The unit was working but turning off after a few minuates. He concluded it was the blower motor. Ok Cool.So why do they not have parts to fix the problem. Dude was cool but me and the kids over here still sweating. SMH!

I used Freedom Heating and Cooling to fix a leaky shut off valve. Upon scheduling the appointment I inquired about their companys Covid protocols and the service fee amount which was 99.00. I also asked if the amount went towards the work performed and the guy in office and receptionist stated yes, but was inconsistent in giving me estimated job completion time for my specific job. He finally stated 1 to 2 hours and assured me mask, gloves and shoe covers would be worn during my service visit. The technician arrived and only had on mask he came in to inspect leaky valve in main bathroom which he Did not wear properly, continually exposing his nose, which I had to ask him to keep his mask on properly during the service visit. I also, overheard him ask the office person on the phone how much do you want me to charge her to tighten this screw up?After the inspection, in depth phone conference and the main water shut off with the main office he quoted me a final price of 165.00 and he stated he had to leave to get rubber gasket and it would take a hour to return. During his departure to retrieve the part I called the main office to express my displeasure of the technician continually not wearing his mask properly and the receptionist immediately placed me on hold and apologized for his violation of safety guide lines and insisted they would waive the 99.00 service fee. I agreed to proceed with agreement only if the technician would not return upset that I reported him to main office and she assured me everything would be fine and he would keep on his mask during remainder of service visit.Upon the tech returning he kept on his mask, completed the job, which took 4 hours to complete, showed the completed work and that the valve nolonger leaked but he did not clean up the debri left in the bathtub and he stated he did not have any caulking in his work van. I cleaned up what debri I could by myself what didnt go down the drain and did an thorough sanitizing of the work space.During the paperwork process he requested payment of the full quoted amount of 165.00, they did not waive the fee as agreed upon by the main offices receptionist and I stated the 165.00 was quoted to me before he left to get parts and then he claimed the 99.00 service call fee is in addition to the work order fee. This statement I knew was a lie and was done so they could collect on entire quoted amount of 165.00 so the amount was inflated to 264.00. I paid without making a big deal because I just wanted him out of my home. The tech was very young and lacked the experience to perform the job professionally and the receptionist mislead me with her fake apology to waiver of a fee lie. He even sat down in his soiled work pants on my living room sofa without permission. I do not recommend using Freedom Heat and Cooling again and will definitely follow my first red flag sign before doing business with a company that is very inconsistent with providing accurate information. The fact that I spent my money with a careless company and jeopardized my familys safety by possibly exposing us all to Covid is unacceptable. If you dont want to wear a mask in someones home Do Not book Customers to just get their money let them schedule with a company that will be more accommodating to safety practices..

I really like Ashley working on my unit because he is the only one that was able to find what was wrong with my AC a few months ago and he also found something that could have caused problems later on and he fixed those issues.
Poor quality, not responsive - 24X7 support is FALSE advertising, their service has gotten worse consistently over the last 2 years. Poor management, lack of accountability. Agree with others who said the 5 star ratings were probably fake. Do not recommend their service at all.Update: the issue was addressed next business day. Feedback to the mgmt & operations - you guys used to be open 24X7, if you are scaling back and now only open weekdays, you need to let your customers know. we had to call another heating/cooling company while we are paying for 24X7 service.

I have spent thousands of dollars with these guys in the past having a whole new HVAC system installed. This week, I had an issue with my thermostat no longer turning on the heat pump. Scheduled an appointment online, explained the issue, and got a message that someone would be in touch shortly. I didnt hear from anyone by hours into the following day so I contacted them to find out what was going on. I received a text back - What was the appointment for? I explained again what it was for, that I had scheduled service online and asked if they maybe didnt get notified of the appointment. More hours go by. No response. I finally said just forget it. They dont need your business I guess. Not even worth their time to respond.

Purchased a new AC unit with this group. While it was not the best offer price-wise that I received, they appeared to be very professional and got the offer to me quickly, so I decided to go with them. Installation took the better part of one day and was done on a Friday the same week that the initial offer was given.Then things went downhill. Two days after installation, the unit stopped working due to a leak in a coolant line. I had to leave work early on Monday to meet the tech since the latest appointment they could do was 4pm. This guy was unable to fix the leak, but we scheduled an appointment for Wednesday morning (9-11am). I heard Wednesday morning around 10am that they were unable to make this appointment and we then had to reschedule for Friday morning. Overall, I have now had to adjust my work schedule 4 out of the last 6 workdays, and I am just thankful that my boss has allowed me with this flexibility. To make everything worse, the two guys who came out today (ones name was Ian) did not wear a mask for a majority of the time they were in my home, despite the fact that I wore one the whole time.Im giving them 2 stars simply because of the timeliness of their initial quote and the overall installation were pretty good, but everything since has been very poor. Overall I have to imagine there are cheaper/more time-flexible companies in the Birmingham area that I would try before returning to Freedom Heating/Cooling.

Really impressed with The company! Chris Horton was the technician that came out to give us a price on a new ac unit! He was very professional and easy to talk to. By the end Chris felt more like a friend then a stranger. Chris had us set up to have our unit installed the very next day. The technicians Ashley Fitzgerald and Scott Nelson were just as great! They are hard workers and worked non stop to get our unit in. This was no easy task because we were putting the new ac in the attic. But what I loved about Ashley and Scott was that they didn’t cut corners no matter what they ran into they made sure to do it the right way. I would definitely recommend Freedom heating and cooling.

Hello, don’t EVER do business with them. All of their high ratings are from them telling people to give them a review for a gift.This has been however the WORST air conditioner company I have ever been with. Within the first year I got the air conditioner the people that came looked very inexperienced. They promised me so much but I never got anything. Within a month later the air conditioner broke, AGAIN.When I had called them a lady was very rude, saying rude comments. Then They had a manager micheal reach out and he was all about money. This is my first house I got, im 22 years old and Would never work with them again.
