What an amazing restaurant and a truly authentic French dining experience. Before I talk about the food my wife and I enjoyed I feel I must give my hats off to the honor and chef for a phenomenal job.She informed us ahead of time that due to some staffing issues she was there by herself. Please understand that servicing a nearly full restaurant full of patrons by yourself when you are cooking everything from scratch is no small feat.On to the food. My wife and I decided to split a mushroom and goat cheese quiche and salad as an appetizer. This was the most delicate, rich, and delightful quiche Ive ever had.Our appetizer was followed by a cod dish and an oven baked chicken dish. Both were prepared to perfection and very well seasoned. The food presentation was incredible as we both expected. This was our first time here, as my wife decided to take me here for my birthday dinner. This is a restaurant that you must experience multiple times, as to me you changes often. Please do yourself a favor and try this restaurant if you are in the market for authentic French cuisine. If I didnt mention this before, the chef and owner is actually from France. Please visit, you wont be disappointed.
Highly recommended. I dont know where to begin to explain the amazing experience I had at this restaurant. It was so good! The host who is also the chef of this restaurant was so warm and welcoming. I had informed her a day before that I want to have beouf bourguignon so she was expecting me. That dish was excuisite, right from texture of the beef and gravy to the taste along with potato gratin and asparagus wrapped in bacon. Everything fitted perfectly. My husband wanted something in chicken so she whipped up a dish that had grilled chicken, potato gratin and braised zucchini. It was ok. We had creme caramel for the dessert and she gave us Madeleine along with it. Everything was perfect! Do try it. Just let her know the prior day because her menu changes everyday, she makes everything fresh. So if you have a particular dish in your mind especially dishes like Coq au vin, beouf bourguignon, etc that needs marination for quite sometime it would be better to inform her the previous day.
Authentic French treats and dishes available right here in Birmingham. You will find coffee, meringues, and a rotating seasonal menu. The owner is extremely friendly. Currently takeout only, but there is a lovely back patio area right by a stream that will be open next summer. You will love the French lady!
Its in a strip mall on old Woodward. My gps kept taking me around in circles, but I finally found it. I went with 20 of my girlfriends from a social club and we filled up the place. The service was slow because there was only one waitress. I had a carrot bisque soup and a ham & cheese crepe. The food was ok, but I expected better. I think it was just average, for the price. we skipped dessert because we had already been there 2 hours for lunch!
Very excited to try after reading all the great reviews. Hopefully hit on a bad night - Tuesday. Ordered Beef Bourguinon for $27 per order and only received a small bowl (no sides, such as soup, salad or bread) with beef, potatoes and carrots with very little sauce. Taste was very good but a little dry (since very little sauce).
Mixed results. My friend said the quiche was the best shed ever had. My crepes were crunchy! Would give them another chance.
An amazing restaurant! From the time you open the door. The people are very friendly and warm. The food was excellent this is definitely a place where well be coming back.
I loved this place! So cozy. Just wish my wife was in town with me when I went. I got a dish to go, but such a great place for a date night.
Some of the best and most authentic french cuisine you’ll come across in Michigan! Perfect place for an intimate date night dinner or sunny munch after a day at the farmers market. New favorite spot! :-)
Amazing food, service, and atmosphere with prices to match. Still, a wonderful treat. The wine pairing is a must.
Love this restaurant! Food and service is outstanding, good size portions, from the time you walk in until the time you leave you feel like youre part of the family.
Absolutely fantastic French fare. Wonderful eats, staff and atmosphere. Well worth becoming a regular! I highly recommend their quiches and my personal favorite the potato salad.
One of the hidden gems of Birmingham. Authentic delicious French desserts. We ordered creme Brulee, chocolate mousse and meringue and they were all fantastic.
The Quiche Provence was truly decadent. I will be back.
Cutest little restaurant!!! Very friendly staff.. would definitely come back...
Simply wow! This place is absolutely amazing! I do not know where else one could find authentic French food such as madelain, financier, chocolate tarte, crêpes and quiche all in one place - all made by a French lady, Claude, who was a very nice person! This place is an absolute gem and I cannot believe I did not know it existed!
We went to the French Lady for breakfast on last Saturday morning. First of all, we were surprised (actually we should not) when Cloude welcome us in English with heavy French accent. Then we were surprised by how the Quiche was served – just out of oven, crispy crust, smoothy eggs mix, melted right in the mouth! She also made a special sauce for the side salad, goes perfectly with the Quiche!Cloude is very proud of opening this tiny (but cozy) eatery and has a passion (you can tell!) to serve home-made French cuisine in such a diverse town like Birmingham. Thumbs up!
Amazing authentic French food! The staff is so kind and the place is absolutely beautiful.
Exquisite experience my whole family loved it! And the harp topped it off perfectly!
My husband ordered a to-go feast for Mothers Day and we were amazed by the taste and quality of everything -- from the quiches, risotto, potato salad and croissants to the soups, pastas, ratatouille and other options for the vegans/vegetarians among us. Très délicieux!
